My husband and I spent our vacation on Amelia. He and I are both love to fish and we visited the shop several times over the week. We purchased bait, tackle and equipment. Im just your average Joe fisherman but Nick (the owner) treated me like I was a pro!!!I thought I was in need of buying a new reel but he took a look at my reel and told me that I had spooleded it incorrectly.He then respooled my reel in a matter of minutes and I ended up purchasing a new Penn reel anyhow.The prices were as competitive as any big box store and the service and selection were top notch!

Cannot say enough good things about the owner and the two guys working. Brought in a reel and wanted to pair up with a new rod. The owner picked one out and there was no hesitation on my end. Didnt care the price because because the owner sold it with his knowledge. Plan on a few more trips to pickup more bait or tackle. Thank you for being great at what you do.

The new shop looks awesome! These guys are great as well. My wife and I were in asking lots of questions - everyone was offering information, techniques, suggestions and gear for making our fishing better and more productive. Great folks who were very helpful answering my questions about the ins and outs of surf/inshore fishing to this bass fisherman. I’m glad I took the time to stop in! They have a great selection of live, artificial, and terminal tackle. They also have a strong working knowledge of the area and fish patterns. I look forward to returning next time I’m in town.

Hey, if youre in Fernandina Beach, FL and going fishing, check this place out. They have recently upgraded their shop as well! This is my one stop shop for all my bait (live and dead shrimp, mud minnows, fiddlers, mullet, and blue crab), tackle (weights, hooks, and rigs), equipment (rods and reels, tools, sand spikes, bait knives, and beach carts), and apparel (hats, shirts, and sunglasses). If you like to throw artificial, the shop literally has an entire wall to select from ranging from soft and hard baits. If youre looking to spool up that new reel you just purchased or wanting to replace that 5 yr mono on your old Penn, just talk to them about spooling.If youre bringing your boat just pull in the back parking lot now. Plenty of room to park back there and you dont have to battle with busy 14th Street. The back door of the shop works just as easy as the front door, super convenient.Any time Im headed out to surf fish or go out in a boat, I stop here first. The employees are knowledgeable of the area and always happy to answer your questions.

I contacted the business after hours on Saturday for information on a sand flea rake. Within a few moments I got a response the business had the product we needed. They opened very early Sunday morning, so we were able to stop by make our purchase and still arrive at our destination early. So glad they offer the text mesage service for any after hours questions, service was excellent. We will stop in again! Thank you.

Great shop for bait. They have a ton of all the fishing gear you would need whether you are a pro or a beginner. Very helpful with locations to fish and different baits to use. Just recently installed a machine at the front entrance which allows you to purchase frozen bait anytime.

This is a great tackle shop! I went to get surf fishing gear and they had plenty, they seem to have gear for fishing of all kind! I would highly recommend this shop for anyone who needs gear!

I can’t say enough about the customer service. Nick and his family have always been absolutely wonderful. They support the local children by allowing them to work there and definitely bend over backwards to ensure that they succeed in their sports as well as personal life’s. The only reason I gave them five stars is because I can’t give them any more.

The owner and family are great.I had a few laughs, bought lively minnows, and came back the next day to buy a rod/reel combo.Really reasonable pricing, and pretty large selection for a small space.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! Usually I’m a little intimidated when a bait shop, but not here they gave the bait and tackle we needed, set us up nice and pointed to some great spots . We have fished on the beaches, off the dock i the river and local bass ponds and had good results with all their suggestions! Definitely recommend!

Nic is an incredible shop owner. The first time I walked in after he purchased the shop, I could immediately see (and smell) a difference. Everything is clean, organized, and efficient. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jim. He took the time to give me his recommendations on everything from the best rig choices to bait and baiting techniques. He actually went out of his way to make a rig for me while I was there. Jim has been a local in the area for about 40 years and seemed to know a lot about the island and all things fishing related. This was no doubt the best experience I have ever had at a bait and tackle store. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Tons of tackle. The shop is very cluttered and it’s difficult to navigate. The staff was friendly but when I asked where the sabiki rigs were the cashier said “I have no idea”. I still give 4 stars because previous visits were much better.Update: New ownership and the owner is correct. One of the nicest and well-stocked tackles shops Ive ever visited. Spacious, organized and a nice supply and variety of live bait. The staff is friendly as well.

Great tackle shop with very knowledgeable owners/staff. They also provide charters. My 11 yr old and I went out with Capt. Jim last week and we caught 30+ fish - kept 3 and released the rest. Jim was wonderful with my son which was a real plus. Highly recommend this shop and charter service!

Its small but still a great place

Pulled up at the bait shop at 3:45 to buy live shrimp. Owner was locking door (was in earlier to see if they had live bait. I was told they closed at 5:30.) asked her if they were closing. She said yes and asked what I wanted. I told her I needed live shrimp. She said she couldn’t do that but offered me dead shrimp. Ended up going up the road to buy live bait. Won’t be returning to this shop again.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I just went in to buy a nice rod and reel and the blonde woman working there told me I could not look at them because they were working on the floors, which were 15 ft from where I needed to be to look at the rods. There was plenty of room and no reason to be a dick.I asked if she knew of another place to buy a rod and reel since I cant look at what they have and was told why dont you go f*** yourself, f*** you.Im glad I didnt have children with me.I get it, doing flooring sucks, but treating your customers like this is terrible business. If this is what they are like, I will take my money elsewhere and I hope that everyone that reads this does too.For the record, I did not leave anything out. I was polite and even greeted the woman with a smile when I walked in the door. Shes just a bitter old hag apparently.

Went in to purchase a new fishing rod combo. The selection was good for the Penn reel product that I was searching to purchase. The gentleman spoke to me for just a little time and then went back to the register station. The woman took over and shared what they had in inventory on Penn level wind reels. She offered to match up a reel and rod of my choice. I chose a Penn Warfare reel and rod combo for my medium-heavy pole. Also purchased bait from the store.
