I went here about five years ago. I wear contacts and glasses. I spent about 3 weeks after the eye exam trying on different pairs of contacts for better fit. I’ve been through this process before. I tried communicating with the doctor at the time that I knew my comfort axis. They Did not listen to me at all. Being on Union insurance, there are few shops that I can go to locally. So I gritted through the discomfort and difficulty of coordinating scheduling again and again.Anyways, I called today for my prescription information from them. Not that I want to use the old one. The secretary on the phone said she didn’t know if she could give me my old one. So she gets the doctor on the phone, who gives me the warnings. (I just wanted the PD number. Something that doesn’t change easily unless I do cosmetic surgery, etc. A Comparison for the accuracy of an online apps way of measuring. She told me 64. The application measured 63.5. Pretty close.) She was very reluctant to give me the information, assuming the worst. She finally gave me the information after I expressed my right to my own medical information. Then she said very rude and coldly for me to get an exam and take care of my eyes. Which I have done within the year. No doctor office, eye, tooth, or otherwise, are allowed to hold your medical information from you. There’s a reason I’ve not returned to this shop...they just reminded me. Not listening, and assuming the worst. We are adults and paying customers. Our experiences will determine if we return or not.
Great customer service! Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to help. There is a wide variety of frames to choose from at good prices. We love The Optical Shop!
My family had an amazing experience at The Optical Shop. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The office is clean and welcoming. Everyone was so sweet to my 4-year-old and made her first trip to the eye doctor a pleasant experience!
Amazing service! I came in for an eye exam for me and my 9 year old, and I had to bring my 2 toddlers with me. The lovely lady at the front desk helped me out so much with watching my little ones while my oldest and I went to get the exams. Very professional and I cant thank her enough for helping me with the babies. The doctor was great also! We will be returning from now on for our eye Care needs and will recommend to our friends and family.
I went in the hopes of getting my 10 year old frames fixed, but that wasnt happening. Instead the were able to get me an appointment the next day for an exam. Dr. Swink was great and when the didnt have the lenses I needed in stock, Eddie drove to St. Louis so I could get my glasses the next day. Kathy and Alice are 2 of the nicest people Ive come across in awhile and knew exactly what to do so I could get back to normal as fast as possible. Throw in the fact they actually measured for my frames and Ive got the best pair of glasses Ive ever had. Theyll give you service youll never get at one of the bigger chains. Couldnt have had a better experience.
