Earlier this year, I had my catalytic convertor stolen on one of my vehicles and wanted to try to do something to hopefully prevent it from happening again. Recently, I learned about a City of Folsom Police Department and local autoshop cooperative effort called The Etch and Catch Program designed to etch/mark your vehicles catalytic converter with your license plate ID to make it less desirable to target, steal, and recycle. Folsom Autotech is one of several local shops participating in the program. It is free of charge and is something I encourage you all to have done on your post-1975 cars with cats. I called them up to inquire and they were able to get in two of my vehicles; a 1986 VW Vanagon Syncro 4WD and a 1982 VW Vanagon L Campmobile later that day. I was pleased as all get out that they were able to fit me in so quickly. Front office staff and mechanics were very friendly and customer service oriented and I was in-n-out in less than an hour for both of my vans; Wow! Their service prices were shown on a digital marquee board in the front office-waiting area and they appear to be quite reasonable. Also, they have some really cool historic photos of Folsom from back in the day that are fun to check out. Will definitely use Folsom Autotech again for future auto repair work and you should consider them too!

Got my wifes Subaru aligned after new tires installed. They got me in and done in 1.5 hours even though I was 1.5hrs early. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

When you look them up its says open till 5pm. I called on me May 11th at about 4:30 p.m. They told me they take their Last car in at 4:15 p.m. I show up on May 12 at 4:10 p.m. There is about 6 or 7 people behind the counter doing nothing. One gentleman got up to ask me what I needed. I told him that I need to get my Car smoged. He then tells me that he has a car in the Bay cant help me. Even Though I was there Before 415 he will not help me today. I told him that they need to be more specific when people give them a phone Call asking when you Can Last be seen. He then tells me that I could come tomorrow. When I let him know that was not an option. This response was I would go to street to this smog place by quick crack car wash.

I had issues with my 2016 Toyota Tundra 2 other shops couldnt locate but happily charged me for. I went into this appointment with broken confidence of all mechanic shops but within 2 hours of dropping off, I had an answer. What a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. All issues resolved and extra maintenance taken care of, my truck is driving like it had the day I got it. Went in for Smog testing. Very helpful and friendly staff. Seemed genuinely interested in helping me get my car smogged and working. Out the door cost was pretty much the same rate as other Folsom shops, but it was next door to me.

Im new to the area in search of a mechanic. This place was the closest to my home so I thought Id give them a try. Good prices however terrible customer service. After dropping my vehicle off for an easy service. I returned to pickup and was literally greeted with what?! from the guy behind the counter. I think he was the manager or possibly the owner. Worst customer service Ive personally encountered in my life. I will take my business elsewhere. Given the choice again Id rather drive further and pay more at a different shop.The mechanic that serviced my vehicle did an excellent job therefore he earned the star. Had an interesting issue with my AC in a 2005 Ford Freestyle, and they did a great job of diagnosing the system and we came to the same conclusion with how to proceed, and now I have a very cool air conditioner for much less than it could have potentially cost. I appreciate their expertise and willingness to listen to my ideas on what the potential issue/solution is.

An honest auto repair place? Is there such a thing? Just kidding....kind of. But these guys are great and now I’m not kidding. They keep our cars running without it costing an arm and leg.We have two 2005 models so they are not the newest vehicles on the road. But we would rather not replace them if we don’t have to. So we rely on them and they come through. They get our cars in quickly, diagnose the problems and get us estimates. Then they correctly fix the vehicle. They are very nice guys and easy to get along with. I really love this shop. Ive been coming here for about 10 years. The people are friendly and make you feel welcomed. I can say, they are an honest shop. They wont sell you on something that you dont need. Also, I like the convenience of their shuttle service. This is a family shop, passed down from father to son. Still today, the son, Jim, is still running the shop, with the same values as his dad. All the mechanics are very knowledgeable and have the skills of doctors for your car or truck. The rates are reasonable. In a nutshell, they have earned my trust in every facet of their supreme business.

I had shocks and new tailights installed on my vintage 98 Ford.The job was perfect. My Explorer was happy, and the cost came in exactly as quoted. These guys are the best of the best.

These mechanics fix your vehicle and stand behind their work. They bent over backwards to accommodate me and my schedule. They are located on an easily accessible corner with plenty of parking. The manager, Ron, and owner, Jim, were professional and courteous at all times with such great smiles and information as well as many years of experience and knowledge. I went in for a fuel evap hose replacement. They had it knocked out in 15 minutes and said it was easy enough that they wouldnt charge me for it. Well done!

Guys here were very patient with me while doing smog on my GTI. Apparently Folsom lake VW put the wrong water pump a couple of years back and it was causing a code to stick.

Over priced and under serviced my vehicle.I found it best to go to a specialist shop vs shops as this one that is a jacks of all makes but experts in none. With rates no diff than specialist shops costs add up in their diagnosis fees because they are often unfamiliar with the vehicle make. I have found savings within the specialist shops just because they can disgnose quicker because of their familiarity of the cars they service.

Weve taken all of our vehicles to Folsom Autotech for the last 28 years, and their family owned business has the only local mechanics we trust. Weve gotten all kinds of bad advice, suggestions, and quotes from local dealers, tire shops, out of town mechanids, etc. over the years, and then taken our vehicles back to Folsom Autotech for real guidance that always turns out to be honest and trustworthy.What I like most about them is their flexibility and understanding around each vehicles purpose. When our kids were small, they made sure we never broke down with little kids in the car. When our teenagers were driving old beaters, they were really good about helping us keep them safe, without fixing every little problem. We were always comfortable having our daughter take vehicles in for repair because they are all gentlemen, took the time to explain everything to her in a way she could understand, and never tried to push her into a repair she wasnt comfortable with.When weve worked with local dealers, weve often had to take vehicles back multiple times because the problem was fixed, but something was missed when they re-assembled the vehicle. Every repair weve ever had done by Folsom Autotech has been complete, fixed the problem the first time, and hasnt needed any follow-up.They are a full service shop, doing everything from oil changes to major engine repairs, with the exception of tire sales. I think their prices are very reasonable, considering they cost less than the dealers (but who doesnt?), they guarantee all of their work, Ive never had a vehicle under their care break down, and Ive never had to return a vehicle for the same problem. If you want a professional, honest mechanic, and who doesnt, then these guys are the best weve ever worked with.

Folsom Autotech has been my go-to garage for over 15 years. I asked the guys I work with where theyd send their wife or daughter for car repairs and the resounding recommendations was Folsom Autotech. They were right, this is MY garage and I dont want or trust anyone else to work on our cars!

Sold my 1997 Voyager and purchased a cherry 1995 Grand Marquis with about 90,000 miles from original owner from Arizona. It needed front brakes, ball joints and control arm bushings. Folsom Autotech completed the work in one day and now my Grand Marquis rides and drives like new..!Techs Rod and Bob made my 1997 Voyager ride 100% better by replacing front struts and a wheel alignment

Quoted $116 for part and little over $30 labor for a pipe on my 80 year old mothers car. When job was done, invoice showed something different and Instead of apologizing and fixing the issue, rude employee raises his voice to her about why she cant understand and is questioning the invoice. When, I called the manager, he at least admitted he was wrong but still wouldnt refund anything. Poor service, definitely dont recommended this shop. 1st and last time.As usual and based on reading your previous reviews, you know how to side track or dodge the actual issue. Your shop lied, finds a way to cheat and are rude. If the price of the part came out to be cheaper, mom should have saved money, but instead you added the discount onto your labor to still make money. And on top of that, you have seriously rude employees how they talk to an 80 year old women. Shame on you and your staff.

Very good service at a reasonable price. Midas quoted me $1100 for u-joint replacement. Auto tech quoted me at $950. When I picked up the car they charged me about $750.

New AC is not working as expected. Not sure if this is related to inexperience staff.This is gonna be the third time i am taking my SUV there for the new AC issue.

I walked in that place to get my cars air conditioning checked out and one of the guys there gives me extreme attitude as though I am bothering him. Needless to say, I walked right out and decided to take my business somewhere else.

So a few weeks ago I noticed that my 36 Chevy Street Rod was pulling to the right when I was runnn down the road. First thought was to have my front end re-aligned. But when I went to the shop I usually go to (Les Schwab) the told me they have updated their equipment and it will not work on my old car. Tried another shop in town but they couldnt get to me for a few days. Randomly tried Folsom Autotech. Bob came out, kicked the tires, listened to my sad tale, then told me Go home, swap the front tires. If it no longer pulls to the right, you have a tire conicity issue, not an alignment problem.Well, I went home and swapped em and sure enough, now there is an ever so slight pull to the left. But one I can live with.Isnt it great to find an honest place of business where they know what they are talking about and they give you great advice for free and send you home to fix it yourself when, as it this case, its a simple operation? (i.e. they could have easily taken my money).

Horrible!!!! Took a car there to get a smoke test and they wouldnt do it unless they smogged it. They wanted us to pay to smog it, then pay to smoke test it, and then pay to smog it again! my girlfriend left there crying!!!!! So if thats what you want, go to folsom auto tec
