The place has a diner vive! It is definitely a modern and more sophisticated version of a diner. It is a clean, welcoming and relaxed place. We visited for lunch and our sandwiches were delicious. I am a chicken salad sandwich lover! I just wish the consistency of the chicken salad was more blended so the Sandwich held together better. Even, with the chopped consistency the sandwich was delicious and I will have it again. The menu looks very appetizing and will definitely be back to try other plates. The place also has a full bar!

Top Hat Deli’s theme is “be nice” and they lived up to that on my visit. This is an upscale deli catering to those living in Flagler Village. I had breakfast which included an omelet with a side of grits and bacon. The omelet was cooked just right and the eggs were fluffy. The grits were fine and included cheese as was the bacon. There is outside seating in addition to counter and regular seating. The coffee was just so so. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and upscale feeling for a traditional deli.

Stopped in for my first time on a recommendation. It was clean, comfortable, and the service was very attentive and good. I wanted a good Ol fat pastrami sandwich on seedless rye. I was told they didnt serve that and their Big Classic Pastrami sandwich was recommended with seasoned fries. It was served on a soft bun. Interestingly, it had sauteed onions and some sort of white cheese on it. It was good, but not what would have liked (personal decision). The pastrami itself was cooked a little differently but it did contain the fat necessary for a good pastrami. They also had Dr Browns soda which is a must in any Jewish deli. I didnt get to see a menu so I dont know if this was a true Jewish style deli. The prices were very good and I believe youll enjoy a good meal here. Try it yourself! Im sure that you will get a good meal here.BTW: they were very meticulous with cleaning tables, the floor, everything! And, theres excellent, ample parking right along side this fine establishment.

Really good venue with plenary of parking. Can sometimes be noisy because of acoustics and can be cold so dress appropriately. Food items for breakfast are interesting and delicious. Large portions. Salads on the menu need more description as the names don’t necessarily convey the ingredients. Service is friendly and efficient and, in my experience food comes out at appropriate temperature. Pretty good value for the money.

We ordered lunch from here yesterday, & I really wanted to like it, but overall our experience was less than stellar. everything from the food, to the coffee, & service, was mediocre at best. we arrived at 2:30, & were rushed the entire time, although a handful of other patrons sat eating their food slowly, even with arriving after us. while we were eating they were actively trying to clean up our table, reaching over us to grab the papers from our straws. my sandwich was lacking in flavor, & not at all what I was expecting, especially for the price. I think I’d return with lower expectations & most likely only order breakfast next time

What a find! They do many things here off the charts. Stand outs from my experience- whitefish salad, sausage, and the brookie. Bagels are the right amount of doughy. Booze with breakfast is a plus. Clean, modern atmosphere for traditional deli cuisine. They have interesting takes on classic dishes. But they do the classics well too. Large portions- so plan accordingly.

The Top Hat Deli is a modern trendy rendition of traditional classic Jewish Deli from New York. It is on the smaller side compared to a traditional South Florida take on a deli restaurant but very upscale looking with Sputnik lamps and other cross modern and mid-century styling. I had the Top Hat Burger which is made with Pastrami, slaw and Swiss cheese. It looks to be very rare due to the color of pastrami, but was perfect. It came with fries that were lackluster, but the sandwich was a hit. I had never heard of it, never had one, but will get it again. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server had a handlebar mustache to tell you how hip it is. He never let our drinks hit bottom. This place is a must and prices were reasonable for the quality.

Had heard countless great things about Top Hat, and finally got around to trying them. While I was really eyeing up the liver and onions on the menu, I had to go with one of the things that I consider a benchmark to judge a deli by, and went with the pastrami. Ordered The Original with a side of fries, and also got the matzo ball soup, which I heard rave reviews of.Soup was phenomenal. Possibly the best matzo ball soup Ive ever had. Large portion, and plenty of chicken and veggies. The matzo balls were large, flavorful, and really tender. Definitely recommend it.The sandwich was pretty good. Pastrami was nicely seasoned, and had a perfect amount of fatiness. They were generous with the Swiss, which I love. Most places skimp out on cheese. I was hesitant about caramelized onions, as theyre not part of a traditional pastrami sandwich, but they complimented it well, without taking about from the other ingredients.A friend for the chicken pot pie, which Id also heard fave reviews about. But when it came to the table, while the top was warm, the inside was just kinda room temp. The waitress apologized profusely, and had the kitchen fire up a fresh one (all they really had to do was toss the original back in the oven for a few minutes, but they insisted on remaking it). The replacement came out piping hot. And the pie lived up to the hype. Plenty of tender chicken, lots of other fillings, flaky crust, and the gravy was spot on.Also got a couple of the doughnut croissants to go, and they were very good. Flaky with good flavor. In addition, the waitress and other staff were phenomenal. Very friendly, attentive and professional. They quickly addressed any issues, and made for a more than pleasant experience. While the food and staff was overall very good, my only gripe was the pricing. I dont mind paying for something if its worth the price, but I personally feel its priced a bit high for what it is. That being said, the friendliness of the staff more than balanced it out. I wouldnt make them a regular stop, but I will definitely be back numerous times in the future (and the liver and onions will be my best order!).p.s.- didnt get pics of the pot pie or donuts 🤷🏻‍♂️

Honestly terrible service. The server, Bailey, didn’t write any of the orders down. Half the food came out wrong. When we told the waiter the food was wrong he acted like we made the mistake and then when he brought the food back blamed the kitchen for making the wrong food. After working in restaurants for years it was very unprofessional to not take ownership for his mistake and apologize. If the service wasn’t so terrible it would have been a perfectly fine restaurant experience. I’m not sure why he didn’t write of the orders down as it would have avoided the issue entirely.

The place is beautiful and the food is always great. This is not your typical NY Deli, is fancier than usual but that doesn’t mean the Reuben is smaller or thinner than what it should be!You have to try the Lox Bagels, so yummy! My first visit to this Ft Lauderdale food spot operated by the local be nice group.I visited on Sunday during brunch, and this place was absolutely packed! Very happening!Fortunately, one is able to make reservations, so if you think ahead, you dont have to wait long. They have a front area with regular tables, and a back area with booths. Both are very comfortable, however the booth area sees less traffic and has a bit more intimacy.Their menu is one of the most diverse Ive ever seen. They make a lot of side dishes in house, mainly all the pickled goods. You get really fresh chives and onions and all that stuff. They have lots of unique carb options such as challah french toast and doughssants (doughnut croissant hybrid)I had the steak (rare) and eggs, the steak was cooked perfectly, and it was very tasty for a quick restaurant. Our server was very entertaining and professional, he made the experience a lot more fun and just increased the overall mood of everyone. Top Hat Deli was an excellent experience. The service was friendly and the food was great and large sizes (reflected in the prices). Expect $15ish per sandwich (but we each ate one half and took the other home). $4 per cookie (chocolate chip didnt taste as good as it looked, but theres nothing but crumbs left). No complimentary coleslaw/pickle like Juniors (nit-picking). Nova was great (thick cut), tomatoes were fresh, bagel was thinner than a nyc bagel and not as soft inside. They have a bar AND egg creams. Delivery through delivery dudes. Will definitely be back / order again.

Yet another entry in the Be Nice restaurant group. We went on a Sunday morning in the pouring rain, and they had someone helping people out to their cars with an umbrella. Thats super nice!Inside, on the right theres a case full of some of the most delicious desserts, ranging from a gigantic 9 layer cake to really tempting cookies and brownies and other offerings. Next to that is a register with a bunch of candy underneath. Im not sure if the candy is for sale or just for display but it was a cute touch. Then continuing on theres a long lunch counter which is open seating, and a (surprisingly large) dining room.Despite the fact that it was a Sunday morning around 11:45, they got us a seat really quickly. One of the servers came over and got us our drinks while we were waiting for our server, who was busy with another table at the moment. I ordered a grapefruit juice... It was pretty good, though I confess that I was surprised to see the tiny glass it came in. Next time, I think Ill go with coffee.Quickly perusing the menu I saw lots of stuff that sounded pretty amazing, but I was in the mood for breakfast so I got the Grand Schlam - 2 Eggs, choice of meat, a latke and your choice of toast or bagel. I got the eggs over easy, and ordered sliced pastrami in place of the traditional breakfast meats (though I once heard a TV chef refer to it as Jewish bacon). I didnt really want bread, so I asked if they had anything else I could substitute and I ended up going with sliced tomatoes. The kitchen was a bit slow, and the food was not out as quickly as we would have liked. There was a combination of hangry and running a bit late in play, but it probably was only an extra 5-10 minutes - which isnt bad for a pouring rain Sunday morning if you think about it.The Grand Schlam ended up being really good. The latke was super nice and golden brown on the outside and tasty on the inside, the eggs were done just about perfectly, and the pastrami? Oy vey ;) so good! I just wished that Id ordered the toast. I dont know what I was thinking! My companion was not so happy with her meal, but it was more a case of disappointed expectations rather than poor quality. Pro Tip: The corned beef hash... isnt hash. Its sort of do it yourself. Not what she was expecting. Our server Greg really came through for us when we mentioned we were in a hurry. He had nice hot cloths out for us along with the check almost immediately after our food was delivered, and cashed us out with the quickness when we were ready. The service experience for us was very on-point.I did have a couple complaints. As I mentioned before the grapefruit juice came in a tiny glass. It was like a small rocks glass (maybe smaller). The other complaint was the noise level. It was loud enough that we had to raise our voices quite a bit just to have a conversation. Its also a bit on the pricey side, but that comes with the territory, I think.Definitely a great choice if youre in the neighborhood.

In one case, the order was completely off.Ordered the liver pate appetizer, which usually comes with crudité... well, they just brought the pate with nothing else, and when we proceeded to ask about the celery and carrots, the manager comes out and tells us they have no celery. Mind you, everyone having bloody marys around us had a huge stalk of celery in their drinks.......Couldve been that our server was new and lost in translation, between the face masks and the restaurant bustle? Perhaps they should consider adding some noise absorbing panels somewhere.Anyways, I will think 3 times before going to eat here again. Too bad, cause food was good.

This morning was my 2nd visit to TopHat. The first visit a few months ago went off without a hitch. The second visit stumps me. I was greeted very warmly by host and hostess and they let me pick out where I wanted to sit, which was by the window to the left of the entrance. The server initially seemed friendly. He got quickly got me coffee and then came to take my order. About 10 mins later another server brought out my food. Then he appears to have intentionally avoided me. I attempted to flag him down several times and once he looked right at me and ignored me and kept walking to the kitchen. At that point I had to get out of my seat to get another server to get a refill on the coffee and get out of my seat a 2nd time to get water. He had 3 tables behind me, so I waited patiently, while he served them, however, the place wasnt crowded by a longshot. In the end he brought my check which came to $17.99 and I gave him $20.00 and said no change. I left a 10% tip to hopefully he gets the point that his service was horrible. I even told one of the other people circling the dining room that I had not seen my server since he took my order. She commented well maybe he forgot about you. Duh you think? Thats a problem!

I think fresh was probably the operative word, even down to the bottle of Cholula hot sauce. Great service, very attentive. Wish we hadn’t already had coffee because I suspect that’s excellent, too. Clean, modern. Can’t recommend it enough.

Went there for breakfast. Ordered veggie omelette, gravlax platter. Non fussy, not exciting, properly made deli fare. Standard American (not French} style half circle omelette with lightly brown edges, cooked to medium the way I like it without too much run, a challenge for many others considering it was a veggie omelette. Gravlax is house cured. Comes with 4-5 generous but thinly sliced dill framed salmon, accompanied by tomatoes, Boston lettuce, capers, red onions, cream cheese. I asked them to sub English muffin for the usual bagel, which they did without issues. Service was quick, friendly without hovering. Atmosphere was convivial, without being excessively loud, though I can imagine them being much more boisterous had I arrived at a busier time. Id definitely come back to try some of the other items on their menu, and would recommend that my friends in the Fort Lauderdale area do so as well.
