It doesn’t get any tastier ☕️ or laid back than this way too hidden spot. Those in the know definitely know this is the best coffee shop on the Emerald Coast. Maybe you’re looking for just “ok” coffee though? Go sit in line at the place with the Mermaid on the sign. Looking for the real deal caffeinated pallet pleaser? That’d be Maas.Delicious til the LAST DROP!Get in the know and get your butt there 💨Too easy!
Unique coffee shop in Fort Walton Beach. My family and I visited here during our vacation in Fort Walton Beach, which was my idea. I got the Maasiato, an espresso beverage unique to this particular coffee shop, and with some honey and creamer mixed in, it tasted good. The atmosphere looked great as well for an old-fashioned coffee shop.
Definitely one the best coffee I have ever had. I have known this spot for over 10 years. Never changed. A must try! First thing I do when visiting Destin. :) Will make you quit Starbucks!
Definintely worth coming off the beach for. The vibe was quaint and eccentric like youd expect for a local coffee shop and it has a wonderfully lush patio out back that is perfect for enjoying the morning coffee. The Redneck Latte was killer - love the cinnamon and the Sydney Sunshine was yummy.
Horrible experience. My wife and I were in the area and stopped in to get some coffee. The woman working there ignored us when we walked in, ignored us when we were looking at the menu and ignored us when we were looking at the bakery products. She was on her phone the entire time and even when I was ready to order I had to ask twice if they had cold brew because she was staring at her phone. Unbelievably rude. Even when I said never mind about ordering she shrugged her shoulders and said okay and went right back to her phone. Not sure what her problem was. We are not tourists and have lived in this area for a long time.
They have a wide selection of coffees from around the world! I would expect this is owned and operated by a master roaster. They have a couple coffees I do not see usually (like the Indian monsoon) and other crafty blends. I usually stop in here a few times while on vacation. Met three guys in front of me -one was, Ted. He has a specialty drink named after him, also on the menu. So order the “Ted” when you stop in and it’ll give you wings. Also Ashley is beautiful!! I would have came more just to see her, and drink maas coffee and chat. Wish I lived closer.
The best coffee in town! I fully support small businesses with great product & top notch customer service!
If youre looking for a local coffee shop in Fort Walton Beach, this is your place. Right off of the miracle strip on 98. Lots of traditional options on the menu as well as creative local ones. Small selection of pastries. Outdoor seating. Stays busy but not too crowded. If youre in downtown its definitely worth stopping in for a quick coffee!
Owner is rude and disrespectful to regulars. I’m just amazed after seeing how bad reviews are handled too. Completely unprofessional. All I have to say is this is a small town and word gets around.
Finding great coffee is something we love to do on vacation. This has been the best coffee and spot that we have EVER found! Great staff and awesome coffee! They roast their own coffee and they ship as well - we will definitely be purchasing online!
Came here after the big name store kept fudging up my drink. I love supporting local coffee shops and was surprised to see that this place is even closer to our hotel! If you love the smell of coffee beans, you will be so happy once you open the door to enter!I ordered an iced Redneck latte for me and a hot forbmy husband. We both thought it was very good and much better than other chain coffee shops. Will be back!
This is a super cute place. Their coffee is fresh and delicious.
This place is small and hard to find if you’re walking up the sidewalk because it’s entrance is very slim, but it’s a tiny hidden gem. Simple, tasty and effectively ‘craft’ coffee. There is a small back patio area with several covered tables to sit at that have large umbrellas providing shade. The cashier was giggly level happy and helpful and really helps lift your mood, perfect combo with the caffeine haha.
The customer service wasn’t welcoming and was VERY minimal. My family visited Destin/Fort Walton for the week and wanted to try local coffee shops. When we first walk in, the guy serving us was sitting faced back from the door looking down at his phone. He sat there for a good three mins, and we were confused because no one had said anything—we thought maybe the workers were in the back. When he finally approaches us, he doesn’t seem welcoming or anything; he says, “this is our menu, here’s a cheat sheet.”Halfway through, one of my family asks, “Do you guys have frappes?” Instead of kindly or politely saying no, the guy says, “No, that’s not even real coffee.”He seemed to be more welcoming to other customers than us. It’s hard not to look at this encounter as something else when we were the only POC in the shop.
Loved it there. It had an outside patio where you can take your coffee or latte out and enjoy the flowers and peace.
Delicious coffee. Quick service. I enjoyed the shady bench swing outside too.
Coffee is great! Took a bunch of beans home too! Met the owner and is very dedicated to excellent Coffee!
Really great coffee— I had the Lo Ha Iced cold brew which was tasty & a nice strong/smooth brew. I loved the cool atmosphere & amazing aroma. The owner was friendly & very personable. I’m from chicago but I’ll stop by again in August!
Local coffee shop, get a cup of fresh brew and sit out back and enjoy the morning or walk across the street to the Landing Park. Very nice place, friendly staff and solid coffees
Great coffee, better than starbucks. Everyone who lives here needs to get their morning brew at Maas.
The coffee was amazing!! The perfect service went along with from Ms Sydney!!!
Best coffee shop in town with unique and interesting drinks. Staff is always very pleasant
Just got a coffee and bagel. Excellent. In fact the coffee was far better than any coffee I’ve ever had at Starbucks.
Amazing coffee definitely suggest stopping by.
I discovered this place while I was in downtown Fort Walton, I got attracted by the magical atmosphere it has and the delicious smell of coffee. As soon as I walked in I fell in love with it and since then it has been part of my daily routine. I havent only found the best coffee I have ever had, but also the best people. Jim, the owner, and Sydney, the barista, are simply the people you need to start the day with a good mood.
Best locally roasted coffee, very friendly baristas & a garden setting make this afun place to visit in Downtown Fort Walton Beach!
Wanted to share this moment while sipping on a amazing brewery from the hands of batista sidney. This coffee rocks Girl.
Hot chocolate and coffee did not taste like anything. Very disappointing given it is usually our favorite spot.
This was such a cute little coffee shop with the coolest guy running the joint (15 years and going) I ordered the Sydney sunshine (cold brew, vanilla, and coconut) Great, strong coffee and a must see if you like coffee
Hippie relaxed coffee shop with amazing coffee
Best fresh roasted beans in the area, no comparison to other chain coffee, and Jim the owner is awesome, he also does a bean rap, where you can learn about coffee, and try different roasts, very cool experience, go check it out !!!
Divine coffee flavors!Relaxing patio seating and scenery😊
Maas Jazz is the best! I am from out of town and it is a must stop when I visit!
Wonderful hidden gem! Love the folks there and the coffee was excellent!
The freshest coffee you can buy, and better price.
This coffee was amazing and our Barista was so helpful!! We hadnt been here before and she suggested the original Jeff. I loved it and even my boyfriend, who doesnt drink sweet coffee, loves it. Will definitely come back next time were in town!
Cool lil food truck area
Little expensive and not overly friendly staff for what it was. But unique finds in a pretty neighborhood
The freshest beans youll ever experience, not to mention Sydney the barista is SUCH A GEM. A local favorite and a must stop place when you are in the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area.
Best coffee shop in downtown! Staff is friendly + will make anything you want. The blonde barista has a weird sense of human but she’s cute.
A charming and cozy coffee roaster with an eye for the unique and a rock-on mentality thats celebrated in the community. A must-visit for the panhandle!
This place serves the most delicious coffee! The ambiance is nice and theres a beautiful outside area to sit. The location is perfect if you want to walk by the bay or check out some shops while you sip your coffee!
Delicious! Just bought the five pound bag of the jazz flavor. The barista made me a cold brew aloha coffee to go. Love the subtle touch of pineapple in the cold brew, very unique. Such an adorable coffee shop located in down town FWB. Friendly service with a smile. :)
Great coffee, always consistently good. Nice, courteous service.
Great drinks! The girl working was awesome and gave us some recommendations on things to do and good places to eat!On top of that we got 4 different drinks and all of them were great!
Nice little nook to relax and drink coffee.
Cute coffee shop. It was nice out so I did some work on the back patio. Very chill. I like supporting local businesses...although this one was a little pricey. Mocha was worth it, but wouldn’t be able to be a regular...definitely worth it to treat yourself at least once if you’re in town.
Friendly staff, good service and coffee.
Fresh roasted coffee with over a dozen varieties, ground for your personal brewing device. Fresh pastries and baklava along with hot/cold coffee beverages are available to order and enjoy while walking downtown or spending time at the landing.
Just went. Both service and coffee was good :)
I usually gravitate to a local Starbucks for informal business meetings (nothing wrong with that!) but Mass is a whole different thing. Very small but welcoming with a great smell and a good selection of coffees and teas. Plus they sell beans to go. They have cakes and pastries. About 8 seats inside and a courtyard with tables and shades out back. Great prices and friendly barrister. Loads of nearby parking. I could become a regular.
Great place to visit and friendly staff. I had the cold version of the Redneck Latte and it was delicious.
Any time I am at the landing I will stop in for a Redneck Latte or whatever I am feeling that day. I have never left here disappointed. I love small coffee shops and the fact that they roast their own coffee is pretty awesome if you ask me. I try to keep stalked up with their “Crack Coffee” beans at home it is my absolute favorite coffee the aroma is impeccable. I highly suggest trying it out if you like some tasty and potent coffee.
I love this place! Just recently returned from a trip to FWB which I must confess was made in part to visit this little coffee place. No joke. I drove 350 miles to pick up another bag of their Jazz roast which smells like Sunday morning breakfast in a cup. I absolutely love it! Their Knocking on Heavens Door roast is equally addictive. The shop is tiny but has a great vibe to it. Im already looking forward to my next visit.
Great Lattee. A little hard to find.
Quaint delicious coffee house.
My Favorite coffee shops Downtown FWB. Great staff, Great Product and very reliable. Retired Chef.
Girl who worked there was really cool and helped us pick out drinks for our first time. Tried her recommendation of Sydney something.was cold brew coconut and vanilla and I got cream. Excellent
Great, but very slow service.
Cute place - one of a few boutique coffee shops in the area. Downside is that there is no indoor seating - only outdoor - but if the weather permits it’s nice.Coffee is not too bad but I wish they served in better cups just to give it that extra cherry on top.
I have always enjoyed the product from this business, although today I ran in to get beans, the girl was waiting on a couple, and the guy was grinding beans for this couple, I was not greeted by these two. As the couple departed the front of the store a guy came in the back. He was promptly greeted by both employees and started a conversation. After standing there watching this take place for a minute or so, I left. I will not be back.
Nice and cozy, polite staff, good coffee and chai tea!
Maas has some of the freshest coffee you can find. As someone who has roasted my own coffee, when attempting my own business, I can firmly say that this is great coffee. Without any additives it is smooth, mildly sweet, with the natural oils that coat the mouth. The after taste sticks around for a short time. Incredible place to visit. This coffee shop is a perfect marriage to Good Things Donuts.
Amazing coffee! The staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped me pick out the most amazing iced coffee ever. I wish they opened before I went to work!
After passing by this place for more than a decade, I finally made a point to stop by and try it out.The coffee is pretty good and the venue is quaint. Not too big, but seemingly fit for the locals in downtown Ft. Walton. The place smelled great. The service was good. If youre in the downtown Ft. Walton area, youll definitely want to stop by for a tasty caffeinated beverage.
Blend of the day was weak and watered down.. tasted more notes from the paper cup than from the coffee grounds. Owner ignored customers. Great selection of beans, good variety of artificial syrup flavors if youre into that kinda thing. Willing to chalk it up to an off day but when you only get one cup thats all you can speak to.
Great coffee
Great roast today. Espresso was bright, fruity, and mildly acidic. Cappuccino was phenomenal.
Yesterday Starbucks told me their coffee machine was broken lol. Then, today, I tried Maas coffee for the first time. The service was excellent (Sydney), as was the coffee. I highly recommend that you give it a try.
Very good coffee. Nice little place.
Spectacular cups of coffee! Highly recommend for the quality and taste - the Red Neck was fire and Mocha with raspberry - yum! We’ll definitely be back when in the area again.
Fresh roasted coffee ground on the spot. Small place but smells wonderful 5 seats only inside but outdoor umbrella seating in back porch.
Awesome atmosphere with a great selection of coffees. Best coffeeshop around hands down
Id love to see them try doing pour-over coffees with the different kinds of flavorful beans they have 🤤 other than that, one of the best cuppas in town
Best coffee in town. Why pay for Starbucks coffee when you can have good quality coffee? They have the cutest cookies and snacks available as well and non coffee options. Staff is friendly just wish the house were a little earlier.
Visiting FL from WI. Stopped here for a latte. Lovely barista (forgive me I forget her name) was new and from MI. She made me probably the best latte I have ever had. If I lived down here, I would go there regularly. I HAVE to get one on the way home.
Theres a lot of great local cafes in the area, but Maas is my favorite. The staff are always friendly and the coffee is consistently excellent. Theyve got great taste in music as well :)
Hi! We are the Traveling Coffee Gang. We tasted and rated Maas Coffee Roasters. You can check out our review @thetravelingcoffeegang on Instagram!!!
Sydney was an exceptional barista way better than Starbucks and if you drink Starbucks you need to reassess your life.
Friendly staff and food & coffee. It is what the can says it is. Im quite content with it functioning exactly as advertised. Though stroop waffles would be nice.
The best Cold Brew I’ve ever had. Also their Jazz beans are amazing! Highly recommend both! Staff is friendly!
FEEL ALIVE MUCH? Maas Coffee is one of those places that just makes you feel good!!! The limited seating inside (some see as a negative) pushes you...either out the front, where you can enjoy some of the local downtown shops; or to the back, where you have your choice of a quaint outdoor covered patio or better yet, walk accross the street and enjoy a beautiful city park with a stunning 180 degree water view. Oh yeah, did I mention they roast their own coffee?! It is delicious, hot or cold, and the baristas that serve you are polite and friendly. Try it, you will be hooked.
Nice local coffee shop. Buying beans is expensive, even for local roast. Still a nice place to sit for a coffee
The coffee is decent. I get the cappuccino. The downside is there isnt a lot of seating. Its pretty tiny, but theres seating outside if you dont mind the heat. Also they serve styrofoam cups which seems a little bit cheap and environmentally irresponsible.
Maas beats Starbucks any day, and thats coming from a Starbucks lover. Their coffee (I got a Maasiato) was delicious and the shop had a neat atmosphere to match! As soon as I walked in, the aroma of fresh ground coffee engulfed me. The barista was really nice and makes great coffee!
Thanks Jim for my awesome cup of coffee this morning. First time visiting this cute location it has awesome outdoor seating and amazing coffee highly recommend
Hands down favorite coffee shop. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I make special trips just to stop in.
Google suggested that I stopped here being similar to the one I go to back home. Google was sadly mistaken. I couldnt finish it, it was that bad.
Super cute and friendly coffee shop. I didnt enjoy the spicy chai I had decided to try and the very nice barista made me a different coffee with no questions asked! I recommend coming here for an awesome cup of coffee.
A great variety of beans, everything of good quality. They also offer some interesting drinks if youd like to get more than just beans. Dont expect a lot of choice if you arent a coffee drinker. The decor is somewhat industrial.
