We are extremely pleased with the upgrades provided to our home by the team at Key Exteriors. New siding, new windows, new fascia and guttering - the entire team of professionals were prompt, timely, well organized, and thorough. The before, during, and after pictures of our home reflect on the superb, quality work we received. Thank you for “a job well done”!
This company should not be in business. Please run, do not walk away, and find a company that works hard and does the job right. Check reviews and references, and dig deep. Key Exteriors abandons jobs half finished with poor quality work and then ghost customers for weeks, months, and sometimes years. I thought it was pandemic-related. I thought it was just me. It was not. This company has been conducting business this way for many years. I found many others like myself with houses torn apart, unfinished projects, and they were being ghosted as well. Many had given up, but I will not. It is my mission to prevent others from ever going through what I have been through. The owner has his head in the sand and is unable to deal with the messes that have been made. He will not return calls. Other contractors we are using for different projects have told us they will not do business with Key Exteriors and have seen situations like mine for at least 8-10 years. I am out my life savings. I have unfinished windows, doors, and siding. My dream home is lost forever. I will never be able to finish now because of what Key Exteriors has done. Their crews damaged my home and the project manager Josh was cocky and brushed me off. I have been waiting over a year. I have spoken with an attorney and this will be my first lawsuit ever, which illustrates the seriousness of the problem with this company.
Edit..they did come out and fix the chimney after paying another couple thousand dollars. They have been very eager to communicate and for me to fix this review. They completed the job. I would not recommend them because of the time and many trips it took to get the problem fixed.Kathy ThorsonThey did a complete roof installation paid in full. Offered me a deluxe golden pledge warranty. I have been trying to call them since the 7th of june. They sent someone out to fix it and he fixed it? Gave me excuses about the chimney and the next day there is more water spots on my ceiling since they have been there. I strongly recommend you dont use this company EVER.
We had Key Exterior come out replace all 24 windows in our home. We worked with Bill the owner directly and he was very nice and knowledgeable. We had Shane and his brother Joe do all the installation and they were great to work with. I would definitely recommend having Key come give you an estimate.
Key Exteriors, Inc. remodeled our New Whisper Rock, builder grade home with custom made, unique, high quality, new exterior doors to perfection this summer! They made our house the talk of the town. Our house has a speakeasy theme and their trusted team completed this with the most modern new look around!
Matt and Cory were very professional as they installed windows and patio door in my home. Would definitely recommend this business and will be calling again in the future.
Best products and installation in the business and one of the few truly honest home improvement companies out there
I was thoroughly impressed by the sales people when I decided to hire Key Exteriors for my new roof. While winter set in on us and caused some delays. My roof was completed in a timely fashion and after a few weeks of watching and waiting for rain and examining the new roof I feel confident in the construction. I would say the crew is very knowledgeable and experienced in roofing and did a fantastic job. My only complaint is the lack of communication after the sale and in scheduling the work. There is a gap that needs to be filled in this disconnect.Overall I would hire this company again.
We had 4 windows replaced in an upstairs bedroom, before key exteriors it was unbearably hot in the summer. During the installation there installers found that the previous windows had no insulation around the windows. The next summer it was significantly cooler in the bedrooms. We plan to have more windows replaced by them in the future
Used them to repair damage to my house due to a storm in June 2020. They were very quick to respond and send someone out to look at the damage and get me a quote. After that, it was all down hill. The sales rep was very responsive in getting back with me about any questions until I signed the contract authorizing him to work with my insurance and saying that Key would do the work. After that, I could not even get the time of day from him. I was told my roof would get installed within two weeks about 5 times over the course of two months, originally told it would be on by the end of July, it took until the end of September for them to finally get out to do the install. Which would have been fine had they not kept telling me it would be two weeks for two months. During install, some of my downspouts were damaged. I notified them and they acknowledged that they would get them replaced which never happened. When it came to siding, which had to go through separate negotiations with insurance, it took multiple calls and e-mails trying to figure out what the holdup was before anyone there could tell me that the sales rep that was working with me left the company and my case was not passed on to anyone else. I even mentioned the name of the former sales rep during my calls and e-mails. It then took close to 6 months to get the siding put on (signed and ordered in October, still not installed as of the writing of this review). I cannot get ahold of them, they do not return messages (and it seems they have disconnected their voicemail). I would not recommend Key Exteriors to anybody and will actually recommend AGAINST them to anybody I know based on my experience with them. It has been nothing but a headache dealing with them. I feel like I have been scammed by this reputable company.
Key Exteriors replaced our siding in 2009 and we have always been well-pleased with the product so much so that we are getting ready to replace our windows. Thank you, Key Exteriors!
This was the second time we ordered windows from Key Exteriors, Inc, and we will probably not order from them again. Our first experience went great. Andy came to our house and we plan on replacing all our windows, redoing our siding and will need a new roof. We cannot afford to do everything at the same time. We started with the windows, and they we were quoted a total of $40, 000. The first round was installed well. I was impressed with Tim and his partner. There is one picture attached to show his great window wrapping job.I ordered my second set of windows from Andy again around September 2019. He had everything we had previously discussed on file. Andy is a pretty nice guy, very friendly and I never felt pressured or uncomfortable by him. I ordered the same windows and they were installed February 28, 2020.A different person installed my windows this time and they are not okay. The wrapping I payed for wasnt even done for one of the windows. Trash including a big brown box was left in my yard. The windows have no clear caulking on the inside like my first set so they are drafty. Unfortunately no one has been able to come to my house to rectify the situation after I made contact in early March. I even emailed pictures. I paid over $7,000 for these windows and its very discouraging that I will have to hire some one else to fix them.
This was our 2nd time dealing with Key Exteriors. The first time, we had mixed reviews. The first salesman was unprofessional, late, pushy, and acted like a child when I didnt sign the papers immediately. They sent a second salesman and we had a much better experience. The installer did an amazing job but the communication with Key Exteriors is the worst. We decided to add a master suite to our home a couple years later and decided to give Key Exteriors another chance(big mistake). When the installers finally showed up, I told them how Id like the siding installed and they told me they couldnt install it that way so they started siding the house their way(the easy way). I was completely unsatisfied and called the company. The installers were upset and started swearing like crazy. I have little kids in the home and they dont need to hear that sort of language. I asked them to stop working and please send the original crew back out and they did an amazing job, once more. Our latest issue is our bathroom vent pipe sticking out of the house and Key Exteriors will not come put a cover on it.Update: I spoke with Bill on the phone and he agreed to send someone out to cover the vent. The installer was out the same day and took care of it. I firmly believe in 2nd chances and allowing people to try again; sometimes you dont know whats going on in their lives that may make the experience bad. I hope Key Exteriors learns from these reviews, makes the necessary adjustments, and continues to grow and succeed. Even though my experiences were bad, I want nothing but the best for them.
We had new siding installed. Very professional and very responsive. We are extremely satisfied and very proud of our new look. Thank you for great service!!!
Awesome job on our roof and Bill is a awesome salesman. Thank you so much for your help and great job thank you again
Great job on widows so having them do our gutters
Bill’s great to work with, and all his folks are personable and professional!
They are great and very professional with the work theyn o
I contracted for doors and at time of discussion all measurements were taken by seller and his partner in October. I was called and informed that people needed to come again and take measurements. When asked why no reasonable answer received. Scheduled for 12/4 no show no call. I called company and was informed they were delayed and running late. REALLY, What about a call to customer?? Also, after researching found out these doors could be installed in less time than Key quoted 18-24 weeks. REALLY?? Never again and I filed a complaint with BBB.
I would not hire these people to build me a dog house. Their knowledge was excellent. After starting the job a month late it all turned into the lies as far as getting things done. This was a $40,000 job.
My first job from Key Exteriors I had a front screen door install followed by storm windows and rain gutters. All professorially done, with quality parts and quick installation times. I am very pleased with all three jobs and would pick Key Exteriors again to perform any other remodel or upgrading. I did not give five stars simply due to the costs involved. Thanks Key Exteriors.
Bill is a wonderful, easy to relate to salesman! We felt very well taken care of. The installation professionals were very careful, and our door looks and works wonderfully! Key Exteriors is driven to make everything right! Our color choice, our glass and design choice were perfectly executed by the manufacturers. We couldnt be happier!
Quality products, and quality workmanship and nice people
Hate the door we ordered is nothing like the salesperson said it would be and then the door is so dark you cant even see the details to the stained glass spent a lot of money for a door that brings nothing but sadness. Also the trim outside does not even touch my brake there is a gap big enough to put a key remote in between the cracks very sad would not recommend it again. Called the very next day to talk to manager still have not talked to a manager and have had two appointments with them and no one has shown up hopefully they will tonight
They showed up 2 months early i would have liked to warn my neighbors. Now they had to pull a permit won’t be back for 5 day! Yet my roof is tore off and exposed to snow? I’m a contractor and communication would have gone a long way! Unexceptable! I have an 8x4 hole at the peak of my roof where there is not wood! Gaps everywhere in the attic! Crushed siding in spots! They left an inch hanging past trim everywhere! DO NOT DO BuSINESS with these people! They can’t even pick up a phone
Overall, I was happy with the job Key Exteriors did on residing our house. The quality of the siding and soffit was excellent. There were some details that could have been better, primarily the caulking around the garage door and a few windows. The caulk beads could have been smoothed a little better. Also, the brand of siding underlayment was not what was promised on the original quote. When I pointed this out to the salesman (who left earlier this year), he did not have a good answer. The only issue I have is with customer service. We had two small areas of siding that needed some minor repair because they were bulging after installation. Ive made numerous calls to schedule repairs. Ive never received return calls except on two occasions to let me know someone was coming to take care of the repairs. The first time the person was a no-show and I never received a follow up call. The second time, the person missed a repair on the side of the house and it has still not been fixed. There are a lot of companies that do siding and customer service can make the difference. I suggest Key Exteriors make some changes in their service department so customers arent making multiple calls and messages are followed up so we arent left hanging. I am still waiting on a repair to the side of the house. I put off this review hoping these service issues would be resolved in a timely manner, but they have not.
Dave is a good salesman and a respectable honest man
Our salesman John was great he was very professional the windows were a little more expensive than other places but I chose to go with key exteriors based on their salesman and was happy with my choice had a little issue with installation times but it was resolved and I am very happy with key exteriors great job guys
I had windows and doors installed. My sliding patio door is crooked and very hard to close. Called in on August 27, 2020 and service repair person said he was booked for the next week and he would call me next week to schedule someone to come out. No call so I called back and he told me that there were higher priority jobs and he would call back. So on Sept 22nd I called and talked to woman that said they were booked for months and the service man should not have told me what he did. Then I told her that I was having problems closing the door and the cold air was coming in and handle is now very cooked and I was afraid it was going to break. This is a security issue and she said to go buy a new handle and she was not responsible for my security. So I got pretty upset and said I would file complaint with BBB. She said there was nothing she could do for me. Im very disappointed. I paid a lot of money and apparently buyer be aware with this company. Bill Kesterkey does not have the right employees in his customer service department.
I am very impressed with how my roof turned out and looks. The overall price of the roof was comparable to other companies for a better quality of shingle. The company was not very good at communicating back and forth with me and it was often hard to get answers. I was originally quoted for the wrong material and one of the roof installers told me that the change would be taken care of and they would be there the next morning, however, no one showed up the next day. It then took three more days to be able to come to an agreement that I didn’t owe anything further, and they held true to that. Over those couple days, it was hard to be able to get any answers about my roof. I thought the roof installers did an excellent job, and never doubted their quality of work once.
Wonderful job on our roof. The crew that came out was respectfully and left the property better than they found it. Mike Fox did a great job explaining ever part of the process from beginning to end!Hands down the best company to work on you house. Highly recommend Key Exteriors!!!!
The whole experience, from sales through installation, was excellent. I bought a beautiful new patio French door and am very happy with the results. The only thing I regret is not getting it done earlier. The installation crew was very friendly and knowledgeable and walked me through each step of the process. As part of the follow up process, Austin was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely use Key Exteriors again in the future.
I searched for a beautiful front door for some time now and found the mostBeautiful door ever from Key Exteriors. Now I’m having windows installed. So happy with them.
We recently got a new roof and gutters from Key Exteriors. They are wonderful people to work with. Tearing off an old roof is quite messy, but they did a great job of cleaning everything up before they left each day. Would definitely use them again!!
I had 4 windows installed and they did excellent job. Craftsmanship was very good, and employees went above and beyond to address any issues they found while installing windows. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone needing window installation. I was really pleasantly surprised with craftsmanship .
Key Exteriors replaced all of our windows and our gutters. Michael Fox was very professional and informative. The installers did a great job! They cleaned everything up too. We will definitely be using Key Exteriors again in the near future to replace our roof.
Our roof was falling apart because it had been installed incorrectly with the previous owners. Key Exteriors came and put a brand new roof on. The roof is gorgeous and we won’t have to replace it again while we’re in the house. We’ll be having Key Exteriors replacing exterior doors soon.
Always helpful! Will work with you on any needs.n
I have known Bill Kesterkey of Key Exteriors for many years and he has always been a man of high integrity. Key Exteriors uses high quality products and hires workmen that take great pride in their craft. I highly recommend Key Exteriors.
I really dont know where to start with this company ....... definitely made me feel as if i was one of their own they have been so good to me since i jumped on board with this company back in 2009. They sent a nice young man to my home named Andy and i automatically closed the deal he was very very sweet and very well put together very good presentation and he worked with me as well free quote right down to the penny. 2 weeks later i got my hole entire roof replaced ..... Yayyyyyyy.... very well put together presentations, and walk through was very organized he made it like he has already been in my home so A++++++... Thanks key
Key Exteriors replaced our roof about a year ago but there is some work that has been left incomplete, even a year later and there were LOTS of nails left in our yard. Thankfully we had access to a magnet and ran it around our house multiple times to clean up so our children or dogs would not end up with one in a foot/paw. For the incomplete work, we have reached out to them multiple time. A crew was sent out once but they came with the incorrect supplies and we have not seen them since. Customer service is poor, we have had to stay on top of them to get this done, which is not how service should be. We will not recommend anyone else use them.
My husband and I attended a Home and Garden Show and signed up to have a free roofing quote done through Key Exteriors and several other vendors. On Friday, March 6th at 1930, Andy Diekroger with Key Exteriors came out to our home to conduct the roofing quote. As many others before him, he presented a lengthy PowerPoint presentation regarding the product he was trying to sell. He did not climb up on our roof, but rather used satellite imaging to estimate the size and structures (vents, etc.) on our roof top. He asked to see in our attic to assess for any leaks or damage. We did allow this. At the conclusion he gave us his quote and told us if we signed tonight for it we could get 20% off and if we signed within the week we could get 10% off. My husband told him that we appreciated the quote and would let him know if we intend to go with his company at a later date, as we still had several other quotes lined up. Andy took this personally and became upset and angry with us. He asked us if he could estimate out what the payments would look like with financing and we complied. He asked if we felt comfortable putting any certain amount down, in which my husband refused to go further. Andy responded with a very irritated, okay. We again informed him that we would think about the quote and let him know, but that we were not signing up for anything that evening. He began repeating over and over again that he did not understand why we wouldnt sign that evening and that we could not find a better warranty anywhere else. He began to say that the quality of his work was better than anyone, in which my husband responded, how can speak to the quality of another roofing company? Andy responded with, because Im better than they are and I can offer you a warranty that no one else can. He continued to repeat over and over again about his warranty and not understanding why we wouldnt sign that evening. He went on to ask if anyone else had told us about the findings he had found in the attic and we responded, no because we have not allowed anyone up there. At this point he still will not leave our home and keeps hounding us about his warranty and quality work. He then goes on to tell us that I already sold a door today, so Im fine, its not like I need this. Then at one point he tells us that his time is important also, implying that we wasted his time by having him come out and quote a roof if we werent planning on signing up that evening. At this point, Im very frustrated, as is my husband because we have two children that needed to go to bed and its now 8:30pm. I tell Andy, Im not being rude, but my children need to go to bed, indicating again that he needs to leave our home. He stands and says, I guess Im just not for everyone and then again begins berating us with his quality and warranty speech. Finally, we stop responding and I think he gets the hint that we have politely asked him to leave on multiple occasions and that we just arent signing this evening. He slowly packs his bag back up and leaves. He was very aggressive with his sales pitch and became much more angry/frustrated when we refused to sign that night. I was very uncomfortable and would not have felt safe had I been alone, but thankfully my husband was present. His behavior made both of us very uncomfortable and we do not want this to happen to someone else, especially, someone like a single mother who may not have someone there as backup. Upon review, there have been other complaints regarding Andy and Key Exteriors and their aggressive/pushy salespeople. I dont believe this company deserves the A+ rating from the BBB they are receiving because intimidation and harassment are not A+ characteristics. I felt intimidated and harassed by the time he left because we had indicated multiple times that it was time to leave and we would think about the quote and he would not leave. I have reported this behavior to the BBB as well.
The sales people were excellent the work was great. I would use them again!
We just got our free quote from Austin!! He was very professional, knowledgeable, and really cared about our needs. We do not have windows or installation yet, but are super excited for the project to start. Thank you Austin and Key Exteriors for making this part a great and easy experience.
Still waiting on my door 3 months later. Talked to other companies and they arent even that far behind. Poor communication and misleading time frames. Wouldnt use them again
Ronnie, the roofing manager, was great at overseeing a job well done! The worksite was cleaned up very well, afterward. We appreciated the whole crew, including Shannon, the sales rep!
I had windows installed and a storm door. All windows needed new framing. Installers Shane, Joe, & Nick were precise and very professional. I love my windows and storm door. I would recommend Key Exteriors.
We were happy with the work and impressed that the crew came out the weekend to finish our house.
We had a wonderful experience with Key Exteriors. We were pleased with the quote, and were even more pleased with our new roof. All of the work was done on time, the staff was courteous and friendly, and they finished their work in one day and left the work site clean.Weve had some warm days this summer, and my wife and I can tell the difference that the new ventilation makes-- our attic and upper floor are much cooler.
I contracted Key Exteriors for window replacement for my entire house. Most of the 14 windows were rather large. Rob and the crew did an excellent job installing the windows and made sure the mess was minimal. Everything was picked up and the old windows hauled away. Rob and the crew from Key Exteriors did a superior job and are welcome back to my home in the future.
Mike fox and his team have been nothing but the best for every project ive had them do. The only company that would help me with the leak in my roof and no one else would even look at it. They came and saved nme headache and worry since no one would help me. The work looks great from my roof. As well siding on my house and garage.
The crews were good to work with and took care of our unique needs. The finished siding looks very nice.
We hired Key Exteriors for an external facelift for our home. They did everything and more! Roof, siding, windows, doors, and gutters. They even did a small remodel of removing a bay window bump out in our dining room and replacing it with a beautiful, custom 8ft sliding door. They worked efficiently, courteously, and did quality work. We love the new look their designer helped us with, and so do all of our neighbors, from the many compliments weve received. If we had an issue, they were small and very few, they resolved it quickly. We would recommend Key Exteriors for your next home exterior project.
I would like take this opportunity and write this review for future potential customers of Key Extreior. I have used them from a complete roof work including gutters, windows, doors, and now deck makeover. First, they are very honest, a rarity in the business of construction. Second, they are reliable, deliver as promised, stand behind the product. Last but not least, not cheep but competitive. I highly recommend them without any reservations. Good Luck.
Very professional and explained everything. Adam Pickering was excellent!
I just had a “free estimate” that turned in to a very long sales pitch complete with a power point presentation and history lesson that transformed in to a high pressure sales pitch threatening a today only price that I can not get again if I wait for other estimates from competitors. It is really rubbing me the wrong way and the longer I dwell on it the more I regret agreeing to purchasing from them. I’m seriously considering cancelling the job unless they honor they’re price as a written estimate and not this today only price nonsense.
We had already several estimates and narrowed down to a couple roofing companies before a sales rep approached us. We then told him he would have two days before wed make our decision final if key exteriors wanted to be considered in our choice theyd have to act fast. The next day a roofer was supposed to come out to give us an estimate. When we heard about a presentation and company cores to be part of the estimate, we explicitly told them twice that wed not be interested in any presentation but just a quote as this would be the main determining factor for any possible change from our pre-choices with all companies having A+ on the BBB.However, first of all, the appointment was rescheduled by 45 minutes (please note, 5min before the scheduled time!). A different person than the one announced arrived with no explanation. Viewing the roof first was apparently not essential. Instead, we were started on the importance of quality, payment method wed be choosing without knowing their price, and continued straight into the unwanted presentation about the company, their building size/ location, quotes of philosophers (!) and everything else not vital to our decision whatsoever.I am from the marketing and sales business myself and purposely ignoring customers wishes is unacceptably rude and doesnt help selling a thing. When he asked if we had any questions I told him that I want to finally know the price as we had known what we wanted and had others in line for that job. It took him a total of nearly 2 hours of our precious time to find out that the company would be about 40% more expensive than all the other competitors for the same job.We were promised a re-evaluation of pricing by the next business day. We neither got the promised phone call nor an estimate the next business day. Reliability is our number one factor and this was not provided already at the first step before any job done.As mentioned by other reviewers it is upsetting to have a company not acknowledge that time is money, also to customers! The company explicitly said that they only accept a yes or no, no maybes. However, the company could only give us a maybe answer if they could meet our price. No business on our part with key exteriors.
This is the WORST company to do business with by far. After several thousand dollars and 9 months later, our issues are still unresolved. Very poor customer service and they have been totally unresponsive to our requests for service. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
The job was completed and finished to my satisfaction. Austin was great to talk to, he explained everything wonderfully.
Key exteriors came out to install new windows and the knocked it out of the park. Answered every question knowledgeably and knew everything about the windows they were selling.
We hired Key Exteriors to replace a window in our childrens room. We were not initially impressed as the salesman who came to our home was unprofessional and pushy. We already knew what we wanted, so his approach did not influence our decision. When the crew installed the window, there was damage to the existing inside trim that we found on our own about a week later. After a few weeks, Key did call us back after they had learned of the damage to the trim. They did come promptly and completely replace the trim to resolve their mistake. Even though our initial experience was not optimal, their fast response to remedy their mistake was reassuring. The overall outcome is absolutely beautiful. The window is exactly what we had hoped for and the trim they installed is perfect. Their willingness to admit they made a mistake and then fix the mistake at no charge to us shows the professionalism I had expected from them originally.
Several weeks in, roof was shingled immediately but issues in several places. Still no gutters put on and have contacted company a few times. Was told to send pics and I did. Still nothing fixed and no gutters.
I selected GAF products fo my roofing need. I learned that I would be getting the Golden Pledge, a manufacturer warranty in addition to warranty on labor. Key Exteriors are certified by GAF for that protection. This was a very important point in my decision. At first, I did not elected to contract with Key Exteriors because the cost on their Proposal. On the second meeting, we talked about the issue. I was very clear that I was not interested in cutting cost at the expense of quality. That being respected, we made an agreement. The scheduling was very easy and flexible. I wanted to be home during the installation.I had a number of time restrictions, not to mention the weather. Non became a problem. The staff was always helpful and informative. The material arrived complete and on time (to the minute), off loaded before the Team and representative of Key Exteriors. I was introduced to the Team Leader so we stayed in personal contact until the roof was finished. At the end, I could walk the roof with the Team Leader, who could answer every questions to my satisfaction.I am Tibor Bierbaum, in Fort Wayne, IN
I have used Key exteriors a few times over the years and I continue to be impressed time and time again. I have no referred dozens of friends to key exteriors and they have all been very happy as well. Thank you again for all the great work you have done.
A tree fell on our house and we reached out to Key exteriors to re do our roof that had a 1.5 ft radius hole in it, and our gutters. We signed a contract with them on October 5, 2019. Our homeowners insurance approved their invoice and cut us a check based upon the total charge. The contract says that they have 90 days to fulfill their work. We are going on day 97 and we FINALLY have a roof, but still no gutters. Our homeowners is annoyed and is asking for proof of completion and we cannot provide it. I have spoken with Mike, Jody, Parker and Chais and now they are sending me to Josh. I have now waited for 2 days for Josh to call me and explain what it going on. Key also sent Mike out to try to upsell us BEFORE they completed (which they still havent) the work on our house that they are contractually obligated to do. I refuse to refer anyone to them, give them repeat business or pay them the extra $671 for gutters. We now are paying that $671 BACK to our homeowners because Key did not complete the work.As a young couple in our first home, we feel completely taken advantage of and duped. Im ashamed to have trusted them.
My experience with Key Exteriors has been great so far. Had a wonderful time with their salesman Michael Fox, he kind, courteous, and professional. Im looking forward to having new windows installed soon.
Adam Pickering great guy very good at his job
They scheduled me in June which was a 3 week wait to get my gutters for my house and a door for my basement. We waited for 3 months and no calls or nothing. Finally i called them and they said they were booked and had to wait 3 more weeks for the gutters. Its been another month(almost sept) and everytime i call them, i never get a call back. I asked for my refund and they havent even gave me all my money.. I will never refer them to anyone.
I had new windows, roof, seamless gutters, a skylight, and a three panel glass sliding door installed in my house. I am so pleased with the way my house looks right now! Every time I come home, I say to myself, “oh this looks so nice!”
I love key exteriors. They installed 3 bedroom windows last year and a kitchen window last month. They are beautiful. Everyone at Key Exteriors is very friendly and helpful.
We had our roof done and key exteriors did an amazing job! It is a little pricey but it is worth it!
Called key exterior for a quote and meeting with Austin got stood up twice no phone call to let us know that he couldn’t make it. The office wouldn’t even let us reschedule when it was convenient for us it had to be when Austin had an opening a week later. He didn’t show up again and no call. That is very bad BUsiness and rude. Don’t call them they don’t deserve our business! They don’t respond to bad reviews people only good. Have you noticed that?
Fantastic staff! Everyone we worked with was pleasant and professional. We would use Ket Exteriors again and recommend them to everyone. Price was very reasonable, also.
Top notch! High quality materials and workmanship. Clean up was sufficient. There are cheaper companies out there, but you get what pay for.
What a weird business model and odd experience. The initial call for the quote went well. Called in and had a nice conversation with the person scheduling. The first thing that struck me odd though was the NECESSITY to have both me and my wife present. I found this odd as my wife is capable of doing whatever she would like when it comes to windows and doors, but I digress. The day of the quote arrives and I had already had a few other quotes from other local business. This quote though was none like the others. The process started simple - introductions windows measuring and small chat. From there it went into a rather lengthy and unnecessary chat about the business. It more or less at this point went off the rails. A slideshow and PowerPoint presentation came out and he went into a rant of how they have to keep all the workers employed and it was up to us and getting windows installed to do that. Taken back by the wording of how these people would be in job limbo because of me and my windows. Went into details about their location and building square footage and total number of people employed. At that point I just wanted to see the quote and constant pushing was done to go ahead and agree without a price. Payment options kept arising, finance or cash? Its honestly none of your business until I need your services and are contracted for the job. At this point hours into the individual in our house I stepped out to order food for our family. I am told that in the time I was gone the person would not speak unless I was in the room. After all this and finally getting a price I was shocked. Not even within the realm of other installers and local businesses in the area. The quote was in the area of 170% greater than any other company in the area, for the same windows even. I would highly advise to anyone who is in need of windows to really look at other options around the greater Fort Wayne area. This is a business youd be better off just crossing off your list.Edit to respond:Its not that your business model wasnt right its that your sales people seem not to think that the customers time is also important. The disrespect shown to my wife as well wouldnt be something I would tout as striving to be the best bar none. Different than other companies would be correct, and its not in a good way. It appears that others do get good service, but I wonder what it took to receive said service.
Replaced siding on house. Job well done. Very happy with Robs and his sons work. Strongly recommend.
We decided to bring our home from the 80s into the new millennium with the help of Bill and Key Exteriors and we couldnt be happier with the results! With the help of Katie, their in house design consultant, we replaced the roof, changed the ugly cream painted brick facade and chimneys with beautiful stacked stone, replaced the dated cream color cedar siding, ugly pink shutters, and old beat up gutters and down spouts. In addition, we replaced the garage doors, several windows, and the light posts lining our driveway. Now, not only does our home look great, Its maintenance free and insulated as well! Only a few more little details to finish and then well post the before and after photos! The crew was meticulous and kind and helpful in ways that are becoming less and less common in this day and age. The special care that Eli took on our siding and Rob took with the stacked stone have not gone unnoticed. I enjoyed talking to many other members of their work crew as well, each one polite and always respectful of our home, pets, and family. Thanks again Bill!
We got a new front door! We were very happy with the product and the installation! I would highly recommend them!
UPDATE 8/19/19: The owner of Key Exteriors, Bill, called tonight and came to the house to look over our issues and work with us to try and remedy our situation. He acknowledged the lack of communication and need for improvement and we were able to clear up all the miscommunications. It sounds like the company is growing and moving through some transitions and that caused some hiccups.Overall, we were very impressed by him and appreciated his willingness to sit down with us and truly make things right. Within about 4 weeks, someone was at the house fixing the problem. We decided to increase our rating from one to four for this reason.Weve had a somewhat frustrating and disappointing experience with Key Exteriors so far. Im trying so hard to be patient and friendly, but its starting to become difficult. They were great with our initial installation of 2 windows and gutters. But when we started having issues with the installations is when things fell apart. The installer told us there was a part missing with the gutters and to let them know if we saw a specific problem (he described it). We saw that problem. We also found that one of the windows didnt latch properly. So we called. And called. And called. And called. After 3 or 4 voicemails and a Facebook message, we were finally able to get someone from their service department out to look at things. He confirmed that repairs were required and that they would take care of it and that someone would be calling to schedule something in the next 2 weeks. 2 months later and no one ever called. So we started calling AGAIN and 4 calls later, we still dont have anything resolved. I was told today (8/16/19) after calling 3 times (and leaving a very frustrated voicemail with their service department... Sorry...) that the earliest someone would be able to get to me about scheduling repairs would be Monday. Im not confident that will happen, but Im honestly hoping they prove me wrong. To give them some credit, the people who answer the phones are nice and genuinely seem concerned about our problem and PROBABLY pass things along. So it seems the service department is where things seem to be lacking significantly?Anyway, obviously people have had good experiences with them and thats great. We havent. Because of that we wont use them again.
Great company with integrity! They do the right thing for their customers and care about their quality of work. I recommend this company!Claire Degenhardt
This is a review of my recent experience with Key Exterios and the sales rep Andy Diekroger. I hired them to do a roof, soffit, facia, gutters & downspouts with minor bathroom ventilation fix. I will start off by saying that i surely do not feel that customer service is a priority here, i felt like i was chasing them down through the entire process to try and get information. Calling the office a couple of times the people i spoke with where borderline rude and offered little assistance. Please note this verbage from their contract i signed on 5/29. Price includes all materials, labor, removal of all construction-related debris and site cleanup. Work estimated to begin approximately 8 - 16 weeks after acceptance of proposal and to be substantially completed within 3 - 7 business days thereafter. This would seem to me to set expectations that your project will take no longer than 1 week once started. I will break this review down into multiple sections.RoofContacted me on Friday 7/5 to say they want to start that following Monday, ok great. I take the week off of work in-case i needed to be home assuming it would be wrapped up in a week. They were done Wednesday 7/10. The crew did a fantastic job, left no mess whatsoever for me to cleanup. However this was the roof only. I now have no gutters, downspouts are just hanging off the sides of my house. Roof looks great though and i would have no problem recomending that crew to anyone. The remainder of the week goes by and i have no contact from Key. I email the rep I bought the work from on 7/16, no response. Decided to call Key, the person who schedules the rest of the crews is on vacation and i was asked to call back the following week. I receive a voicemail the following day that the soffit and facia crew will be here on the 18th.Soffit & FaciaStarted work on the 18th, finished on the 20th. Work looks OK, im no expert but for what I paid i would have expected a much cleaner job. They did leave a bit of a mess, i picked up a few staples, quite a few pieces of trimmed aluminum, the insulation from cutting the existing wood was just left on the ground. Weeks later im still finding nice little sharp chunks of trimmed aluminum throught the yard. Pretty messy, not what you would expect when paying what you will be paying for this job. I would not recommend this company for this work.GuttersGutters installed on 7/31. Look great, there was no mess left behind, couldnt even tell they were here.SummaryApproximately 1 month from start to finish. You will not be able to communicate via email. If you like me are searching for someone who values their customers this isnt the place for you. I work in the customer service industry, have hired other contractors who have fantastic customer service. That simply isnt what Key is offering, you will be majorly dissapointed if that is what your looking for. I have aquantances looking for similar work and I can tell you they are certainly going to look elsewhere. I would not recommend to friends or family.
First time we talked to them the price was high and told the sales guy we would get back with him. At that point he throws a fit. So they call us and say that they would like to make a better deal. Told them sure as long as the other sales rep does not come over. Still price not bad but we need it done so we hire them to do soffits and gutters. First day they left a mess all around the house: nails, insulation, and old soffits all over the ground. we have dogs that have to go out in that area. Second day was the same thing, still working on it still leaving a mess. Installation looks really nice though. After a week and half he finished because of rain delays. After that they never showed up to install gutters. So after a week we call to be told that the person is not in and that we have to wait until they get back. Really! so my house has to have no gutters for how long until they come out? So good installation, Bad sales rep, bad house keeping, and customer service is bad. So again just called and they told me that the person we need is on vacation and that no one has access to their files. So someone goes on vacation and that means everyone else doesn’t do their job?! makes perfect sense.
UPDATED: VERY pricey. Will respond quickly to get the job. Not the case in getting them to do warranty work. We have a 15 year warranty with them, and have had them out twice in the first year, and am waiting for them to respond to my 4 voicemails for another leak they left on this new roof.UPDATE 2021: Roof is still leaking. Got a response from the owner saying it is obviously not their fault, it is the vent coming out the roof. HVAC company installed a vent cap on like they said. Guess what happened? Yes! it is still leaking and weve been calling them up and NO ONE calls back or come by to check it out. Hopefully the owner will respond with another reason it cant possibly be their fault. Do not get sold on their commercial 15 year warranty or their residential 25 year warranty. It is a sales pitch that they do not honor. You will get a poorly installed roof that leaks, causes damage to drywall, and insulation, and according to the owner it wont be their fault.
We had a roofing and partial soffit and fascia project with Key Exteriors. The work was done in a timely manner. We noticed some problems and Bill came out and sent the workers back out to make things right. Although they lacked in communication skills, they were good to work with.
I called to schedule an appointment for an estimate. In casual conversation I mentioned having to drop my wife off at work, otherwise my day would be free. The phone operator said that my spouse had to be home with me for an estimate. I mentioned that my wife couldnt care less about gutter guards, Im the one interested and Im the one whod be paying. She literally denied coming to my house and said that was their policy. Im so confused.
Supper good with customer satisfaction!Great quality.
If you need simple repair work, dont call Key Exteriors!I needed a hole patched in my roof so I got off work early and rushed home just to meet with the repairman for an estimate who ended being late and no rush was ever needed.Anyhow, it wasnt a repairman at all, it was a salesmen who tried to con me into buying an entire new roof as opposed to fixing a 4 hole. I was told they dont do any work less than $1500. Which far exceeded a hole repair. It was a huge, awkward, annoying waste of time and the person who took my call shouldve explained all this to me before setting up an estimate meeting. Total joke....
Mark was helpful and answered all of our questions. Our window installation was very fast and professional.
These people are awesome, they really went out of thier way to help me with my roof. Could not find any one else that would even give an estimate. I will DEFINATELY use them again.
I get calls constantly from them trying to pitch me. I finally just blocked the number
Great work, service and great quality products!
Weve hired Key Exteriors to replace windows in our homes twice now. Weve been very satisfied with both the quality of work and the quick turnaround time on both occasions.
Wanted a quote on siding and was told that their Rep Andy would show up. Andy arrived, came out of his truck looked around at the back of the house, then went to the front, looked around, spent most of his time looking at the lake, then tells my husband well, were not the cheapest, and were not the most expensive. its gonna be $500 a square. my husband asks him if hes going to measure anything and his way of measuring is pulling your house up on google maps. Seriously? he pulls it up and says, you did a lot of changes. Then he asks what my budget is? You gotta be kidding me! Obviously he didnt want the job and was there a good 10-15 minutes. I later got a call from their office asking about how the meeting went. I told the person what had happened and she asked me if i was there, i said no i was at work. she told me that maybe i misunderstood that i was supposed to have been there so he could meet w/both of us to go over their products. This is how I see it, if he was like that with my husband, then he would have done the same thing if i was there and wasted both of our times. The lady on the phone wanted to know if we wanted their manager to come out to give us a quote, I told her we didnt want anything to do with them. A sales rep represents the company they work for. If this is how their rep is, then its time to find someone else. If i was able to give them negative stars, I would
Key Exteriors did replacement windows at our home and lake place. We are very happy with the windows and the workmanship.
Very nice sale reps and very quick response to any of my problem I was having!!!!
Stop work order for 4 months. They didnt pull the right permits. Still waiting.
Had a new roof put on it looks great
We hired Key Exteriors for new windows throughout our home and a new sliding glass door which I love!
