World Import is the best. When our company started distributing International home media products, we needed a way to play these items as a quality check.World Import helped us to select a nice, mid-range TV, VCR, and DVD player and informed us of a way to save even more money from a special they were having.Their equipment has lasted us more than a decade now, and when we needed another converter plug, they gave it free of charge, when they could have charged for it.They are always on our radar for multinational TVs, VCRs, and DVD players. Will absolutely shop again! Highest possible recommendation.
After an extended trip to Germany over ten years ago, I bought a multi-system TV and VCR from these guys. I was able to watch the large collection of Disney movies dubbed in German that I had acquired while on that trip. The products these guys sell are great, since that VCR and TV still work fantastic and problem-free after all these years. Recently, I finally decided to upgrade to a DVD player. I bought a region-free DVD player from World Gift Center, because I had such a great experience with them years ago. Their service is still as great as ever! I live in Ohio, and the shipping was fast. I am very happy with the Pioneer DVD player I bought. If you need PAL-compatible electronics or a region-free DVD player, I highly recommend World Gift Center.
Customer Service is most important. I purchase electronics for a Limousine conversion company. When we send a vehicle overseas I must use globally compatible equipment and it has to be quality gear. World Import has helped me with this. I would say that they cared about me as a valued customer and I will continue to do business with them in the future.I am absolutely satisfied.
Ordered two voltage converters from WGC but they used my credit card to pay for themselves the import charge with UPS for a delivery to Canada. When I received the voltage converters UPS asked me to pay the import charge again or I wont have the converters!I complained about the situation to World Gift Center and they denied they used my credit card number to UPS to pay the import charge while I can clearly see the additional charge in y credit card report. I was able to contact UPS and prove to them the import charge was already paid by WGC and I finally got a refund from UPS.I will never, ever by to such store when they use our credit cards to other parties without our authorization and confuse the international shipping process with UPS.And no, I wont talk any further with WGC, thanks. I already spent endless hours exchanging emails and doing phone calls. Im done.
I have been shopping from World-Import many times over several years now and I had no problems at all. I am very satisfied with fast delivery and the communication is great. Recommended !!
It has been quite a pleasant experience to work with this company, They have given good recommendations, Fast shipping, good prices, and Great service all around. Recommended to all in need of Electronics.
Buyer beware! I bought 3 blu-ray players for $1000 USD here over the course of a year. One broke after 3 months, one after 2, one after 9. They only guarantee their players for something like a month. Because they open the machines and put their multi-region/standard hardware in them, companies like Toshiba, Sony, or others wont honor to their own 1+ year warrantys on the machines. You are left at the mercy of World-Import. I now am to a crossroads where I have to replace one of my multi-standard (PAL/NTSC), multi-regional (1-6 for DVD, A-C for Blu-ray) blu-ray player. Do I buy again from them or not? I think the least they should do is honor the same warranty time as the manufacturer. But they turned me down 3x! Good luck. Hopefully you will be more fortunate. But youre rolling the dice. UPDATE (23 May 2020) One other problem Ive experienced has to do with their multi-regional machines. A couple years ago I had to send in 2 Blu-ray players because the Blu-ray multiregional setting was broken; it was stuck on region B and wouldnt change to A ot C. I sent both the players in for a free region fix. It cost around $30-40 each for postage and handling. And then, to top it all off, I was charged for return postage before they would send them back!! I couldve have actually bought a few Blu-ray players at Walmart with the $150!! Now I find myself in the same position. I bought a cheaper player, it got stuck on region B, but I let it go and bought a nearly $400 machine in its place and didnt bother to send the cheaper one. Then, after 10 months, the expensive one also got stuck on region B and so I broke down and sent them both to be fixed, postage $44 one month ago!! Ill likely be charged for return postage, as well!! Now its exactly one year to the day I bought the $400 one. I have not received word as to status over the last month. When I called the company before I sent these last 2 players a couple of months ago for an RMS or something, I was told simply to send the players with a short note telling about the problem. When I called them last week to get the status, the secretary wouldnt transfer me to tech support and told me if I wanted to get the status, I needed to give them the UPS tracking number from when I sent them. I replied surely you guys can find my player by name or address or something. She only said the only way you can get information about your players was to write an e-mail to tech support about the problem and provide them ALSO with the UPS tracking number!! I leave it to you to decide whether you want to do business with them!!!!Update: Its been nearly 3 mo. theyve been promising to send my blu ray back and I dont have it yet!!
Buyers beware. Especially those intending to use this product overseas. Their products are only designed to convert analog to digital and not digital to digital. Furthermore if you are moving into a country like France or Australia, Greece etc. check if they have converted their analog signals into DTV. This product will not work !!! Paid 249 dollar for their CMD-HD1080p for nothing. Bought a local DTV converter in Australia for less than 50$.
The LG BP530 Blu-ray Player I ordered through World-Import played the PAL format discs I ordered from down-under on my NTSC equipment with no problems. And that is even when sending the HDMI output through a wireless extender to a CVBS converter to an old CRT TV! I put in any kind of disc and hit play. I could not be more pleased.
I bought a Panasonic dual line DECT telephone from them but they sent a unit that did not work.I wrote an email and they did not even bother to reply. So I repaired the telephone myself: the Power Adapter was down because of a snapped wire inside the PA plug.I resoldered it and tested before usage: the PA worked but was supplying 12.3 V instead of nominal 6.5 V so I did not connect it.I bought an original Panasonic power adapter on Ebay and succesfully used the phone since.News from World-Import? NOTHING AT ALL.I would never trust these guys ever again.
I had one interaction with World-Import, and it was terrible. I purchased from their website and they did not honor their return and cancellation policy. I would be cautious if you choose to do business with them.
Nice stuff
