First time shopping at 99 Ranch Market and It was great! Fresh seafood. Meat, poultry and vegetables. Great varieties of Asian products and friendly staff. I definitely would come back.
One of my all time favorites to get my Asian needs
Ready to eat food here is amazing. Seafood in the market isn’t that fresh
Nice to get Hawaiian Papayas here and other more exotic fruits. The Solo Hawaiian papayas are either wrapped in saran wrap as a pair or in a box of papayas. Inexpensive vegetables usually. Nice rice flour and coconut milk also to make mochis.
This store is well stocked. It gets 3 stars because compared to other local Asian markets its pretty pricy. I usually go to this store only when on the way to somewhere, because its convenient.
I love 99 Ranch’s wide selection of teas. Fresh live Dungeness crabs, Shrimps, Live Tilapias, and more.
This Asian market has been at this location for many, many years. The place needs some renovation and remodeling.Pros: Produce is a bit better than Marina Market; they have a lot of stock; fresh fish dept and a butcher dept in the back of the store; theres also a hot food bar and security at the front doors; free parking and police cameras in the lotCons: Prices are a bit higher than some Asian markets; aisles are very crowded and full of products; clerks dont speak English well and are not very helpful; set-up of the store is not fluid (I ended up walking back and forth to get items I wanted); store is VERY small and always crowded (especially on the weekend)
Good 99 ranch but unfortunately the bun we got ended up having mold on it.
Not bad price.. Always stocked on crabs and lobsters..
Keep an eye on the sale items up front. They had bubble tea drink kits for 50 cents each. Never had one but followed the directions and it was fantastic! Unfortunately I only got 2. Went back to buy all of them and they were gone.
I love 99 Ranch no matter which location but I just happen to be in Fremont this time. Everything you need in an Asian market.
This is a great place to try something new and exciting fantastic items offered Seafood so fresh it is still moving around enjoy
This same as Asian store I stop by occasion .thier look steady.I take a shower next that building sometimes? Thanks Fremont city?
The market has many variety of Asian products. I recommend that store.
Could be less crowded so much product placed everywhere its hard to move around.
Why is it called 99 ranch? Has anyone ever seen the other 88? Is he the last of his species? Did this creature come from a dying world and was tasked by his father to save our planet from inflated prices?
Great selection of all sorts of asian food.
The service is very good but the items are limited. Great for basic needs but the one on Newark Blvd has much more options if you’re looking for a big variety.
Very good experience i found everything I was looking for 😁
We love going here but today was a BIG disappointment since we were served to go BURNT orange chicken from the little food court. Please beware and check your food before paying at the food court. Lesson learned!
Great place to get Oriental goods and fresh produce and fish.
This is where you can find rare spices, foods and lots of meat! I think it also has a majority of Asian spices.
Very dirty, seafood and produce dont seem fresh.
I get African raw food stuffs from this store and they seem to have a variety of things to buy.
Love the whole roast duck from the deli
Pretty average. Parking lot is very scary.
Meat and fish are pricey but ok.
Great place to get the international food! And the fresh chinese food they offer for takeout!
Ranch 99 is a typical asian supermarket. If you like to cook Chinese style food, it will have everything you need, including usually hard to find ingredients. If you are expecting a typical American supermarket, youll probably be disappointed that some things you expect arent there. If hearing people speak Mandarin or Spanish offends you, really, dont bother going there. Personally, it is a place I like to shop. It adds interesting variety to our city.
Very clean and well organized market.l, big fan.
Love the 99 ranch market, excellent service, seafood clean and frying fish, Produce fresh, clean,
Too slow service
Local favorite and go to for my seafood and Asian groceries
Love the fresh sea food! We always buy crabs, lobster, oysters..yummy!!!!!!!!!! And fresh
Great Chinese grocery store!
Plenty of parking. Store is ok clean. Lot of variety. Just need some refresh on decor
Always goodness at 99 Ranch. Finally Dungeness time!
Shelves are still completely stocked up, so that I can easily find whatever I need for my now biweekly shopping trip. I appreciate that they have put hand sanitizer by the front of the store and staff are helping making sure everyone is staying socially distant. Even when the staff wear masks, Im glad I can see a human face smiling. It really does make me appreciate the little things and shopping through 99 Ranch is one of them.
Services could be better. We only shop here when we are unable to find what we need at Walmart or our regular grocery stores. It helps if you can speak Mandarin.
Can be crowded, you find lots of Asian produce and I like the crockery. I avoid the fish and meat aisles (lots of variety) because I am a vegetarian.
The best thing I like in this place is the freshness of their fruits. Affordable and fresh, meaning you can notice that they regularly reflenish this section. Also the cashier are very polite. Awesome!!
So many products to choose from. It is a adventure just walking through the aisles and sometimes I just like walking around and marveling at all the high quality produce/meats etc. I do tend to spend more time in the snack aisles though. Who wouldnt? Even just looking at the packaging makes me happy.
Expensive and loke most asians groceries they start great when newly opened but at the end shity
Its one of my favorite market. You get international food items and they are really fresh and of good quality.
All 99 ranch branches have a hot food area with a food court area. The hot food area at this branch is self serve. You choose the size of the box you need and stuff as much food as you can in it as long as it can stay closed. Dim sum is also self serve. If you spend a certain amount of food in the grocery department, you’ll get some coupons that you can immediately use over in the hot food/dim sum/bakery section. Win win!
Very good 👍
This Ranch store is better than the store in Newark. I like the selection of the produce and the meats more. This store is slightly smaller, but they have a pretty good selection and they are able to pack a lot of items into the store.
No good. After they fried the fish, they did not drain the fish, and right away dump them into the package. So the fish were all oily and greasy ☹️
Chinese grocery store to come
On 6 Apr, I went for grocery since I was shelter at home for 3 weeks, and 99 Ranch said they offer senior shopping from 8.00 am to 10 am, when I entered the shop I found there was no hand sanitizer at the door, although they have a spraying bottle hanging without any labels to tell what it is and how to safely use it without touching the bottle to avoid contaminated. Then most of the product shelves are quite empty, and the staffs keep saying we came to early, the suppliers were not arrive or ready, what? And why you tell the seniors to take a risky trip and nothing for them to buy, and no employee is enforcing the senior only so still a lot of young people keep coming. And couple of employees in the seafood area didn’t wear a mask. Also no plastic sheet in front of the cashiers to guard that means customers could not get a safe distance from the cashiers. ??????The management is too bad for the public health and services.
This place have chinese food and its a cheaper price.
When I come here, I often can find some fresh coconuts. If I want to get a taste/feel like I’m on vacation on a tropical island, I will buy me some fresh coconuts and drink straight from it. If I can’t go live on an island, at least I can pretend I am!
Fantastic grocery store. Has a little bit of everything you would want and need. One thing that I can only get here and not at other grocery markets is their live seafood (from fish, clams, to live crab). They offer free services as well like deep frying, cleaning, chopping for free. The employees are super helpful when you need the help!
Nice
I like 👍, when I dont have to cook and just order food.
Good Asian grocery store. Prices are higher compared to the competition in the area but quality is great. Excellent selection of fresh, and live, seafood. Also, I enjoyed their hot deli items, when I want take-out. I just wished they would turn-down the air conditioning in the store - it is colder compared to being outdoors. Service is fine for me - nothing special.
Workers smoke right in front of the entrance. the smell of cigarettes cannot be avoided.
Very good cheap
Terrible food and service. They dropped my food on the floor, and still served it. Food tastes like chalk.
Its okay to shop
Asian snack heaven at Ranch 99! With many choices that I cant find anywhere else. I recommend Pretz (salad flavor). They’re like pretzel-cracker combo in stick form. Dont let the name deter you, its a super flavorful salty kick!If you’re looking for something on the sweeter side, I would go with Yam Yams. They’re also crackers in stick form with chocolate sauce included on the side of a built in container. You just dip it yourself!
Good fresh produce to choose from. It is built just like any grocery store; tailored around Eastern Asian consumer. They make food as well. Cant say anything on its behalf; Never tried it.
Good seafood; fresh and inexpensive produce. Aisles are small so go on a weekday if possible. Hot bar looks pretty fresh. This place has most everything you need.
Behind their deli bar are bunch of not so nice folks. They are impatient and some times murmured curse to non-Cantonese speaking costumers. I was a regular customer there until one time my friends from HK told me what they had called me when I used credit card but they only wanted cash. Obviously there is no such sign said case only.
If you are looking for fresh seafood, this is the place to go. Super fresh and loads of variety fish. You get most of the fish that you eat in India. They clean it and cut it as per your requirement. They also have a Chinese kitchen, with a menu with a lot of things. I visit it whenever I need to buy seafood, highly recommend it.
Good Asian grocery store. They have live fish and crabs in the store. You will get variety of Asian produce. Also they will deep fry the fish and its free. You can find variety of Asian sauce here. Staff here are helpful. They do sell cooked food here. This place is good for casual grocery shopping
Much cleaner and much more organized than most other similar markets. Great produce.. Good prices on quality meats.. Great food selection. Hot food counter.. Awesome
Good for fresh fish.
The crab is yummy.
Good service! Has everything we need. Good selection of food items fresh and cooked.
This market could be even better if parking lot safety improves.
Got all Asian seasoning here, especially for Thai. ❤️😊
Very cluster, one cant walk freely but have authentic Asian merchandise. It also has food court that one can buy ready made dishes. When close to closing time, any unsold dishes will be combined into boxes and sell for nothing. Its a good buy but one just doesnt know whats in the box.
I absolutely love that 99 ranch provides a variety of services in regards to their seafood/fish products. For free too! They can clean, deep fry, steam book that fish you buy from the fish market. That makes cooking seafood for me a lot easier cause I do not know the first thing about how to do any of that. Now I dont have to worry about prepping it, just bringing it home to my family and devouring it!Protip as the weather gets warmer: it tends to run on the colder side inside so I will usually wear a jacket since I get cold easily.
Got everything I need and crave from Taiwan
The hype is real at 99 Ranch. The brown sugar boba ice cream bar is the bomb! Even in this cold weather right now. The boba is perfectly chewy even when frozen within the ice cream. When I tried it for the first time, I literally couldnt believe it and from then on I was hooked. I have to control myself though since they arent the cheapest. But I definitely recommend! Might want to call the store in advance to see if they are in stock.
This market is owned by Taiwan people. It is upscale, good products and very friendly service. You will not get bad products over there. This is decent Taiwan business ethics. Buy with confident.
99 Ranch is a good store for all your Asian food needs I usually come here about once every two days a lot of fresh vegetables I love it great place to shine to explain why not five stars I have kids and when you have kids bathrooms are a necessity clean bathrooms will the stories clean bathrooms or not would a strong odor of pee in the boys bathroom
Had what I need
99 Ranch is one of the flagship Asian grocery markets in the Bay area. This market is a little bit small compared to other 99 Ranch markets in San Jose, but is still adequate. This store has a good selection of both American and Asian vegetables, a nice meet counter and a nice fish counter. Along with the fresh vegetables and meats comes a vast array of seasonings, pickled, preserved and dried foods. There are some imported EU products as well. Parking can be a problem during peak times so plan ahead.
Solid grocery market for all things asian (not just food either!) The hot deli/ready to eat food is delicious, many options to choose from and always hot. I like being able to stuff as much as I can into the take-out boxes. Those boxes can fit a lot! Just make sure you can close it up afterwards.
Love the selection there!Highly recommended place for asian grocery shopping+
Awesome Place to Shop
A warehouse full of Asian foods and snacks is a dream. My kids are always drawn towards the snack aisle, but personally I’m drawn towards the produce department. Dorky, I know. But I just love all the different varieties of “exotic” produce that aren’t exotic in Asia. From longan, lychee to jujube there’s so many to try a taste of in every season. It is a fun mini challenge for me to cook something new for my family. Allows my kids to not be picky eaters too.
This is my destination for all my Asian food related purchases. Everything from noodles to Winton wraps to seafood and fresh produce is sold here at had to beat prices. I have been to at least five different 99 Ranch Markets around the Bay Area and every single one has been up to expectations. Parking could be a little struggle at times but its all worth it at end. I just wish there was a location closer to where I currently live.
Some checkers here make you feel unwelcome. They barely look at or talk to the customers. I felt like I was bothering them shopping at Ranch 99. Did they even get trained in customer service before they started working there? Does the management care? I wonder...
This location is one of several in the 99 Ranch chain. Its a well-known Asian-oriented food market, but it does stock a lot of the other staples from dairy, to veggies, to pastries, etc. The biggest complaint about this particular location is the parking situation, which can be tight -- particularly on a Saturday afternoon.
Fast fish station. Open late. Closes at 8
