Many vegetables and groceries are overpriced compared with other Indian stores in Fremont. Shop is not clean and the way items organized reminds me few family run shops in Chennai.
Best place for Indian groceries, during festival time u get everything...
Good pricing. Good service. Feels crowded. Vegetable section should be pushed back to create more cart space..
I go there for fresh goat meat, prices are relatively low. No huge lines.
A regular Indian grocery store, but I like their variety of fresh indian greens. I was surprised to discover some fresh meat (chicken, goat) and frozen seafood in the backside of the store. Customer service is excellent.
Best place to buy south Indian groceries, fresh vegetables, fresh goat meat and freshly caught fish, shrimp and more...
In 2018s I loved to shop here as all Indian groceries, especially south Indian groceries are available without any hassle you could find everything.I visited yesterday the store at milipitas, I got 80% of my shopping list. Unfortunately for few others I need to go to another store. Also a bit cramped to walk on with a big cart. Veggies and fruits are exclusively fresh here. I usually stake up to a week and its good. Also on the deli always fresh and good. Before it was superbly organized, now few things were mixed up and spent more than 45 minutes for 23 items on my shopping list.Still I love this shop, no Indian shop can beat its price range and credibility for customers.
Things you get here that you dont get in other places - Seetophaladi (I called about 6 stores before coming here) which is an Ayurvedic powder for cough, variety of chikkis/snacks and grated coconut
You can find unique South Indian items like Tirunelveli halwa, Jamun fruit (Novel pazham), Fresh gooseberry (Amla)
Dont have enough variety, products are often close to expiry date and are expensive
I am writing today to complain of the dishonest, ugly and poor customer service I received from Coconut Hills, Grocery Store located at 46129 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539. I was visited to this Awful store during at the end of August 2021.I live 110 miles away from Coconut Hills, Fremont, CA and I wanted to buy a nice tournament style carrom board and found out that Coconut hills are selling what I am looking for. I called over the telephone and drove to Fremont coconut hills and purchased board. I was excited and drove back to my place and I placed the board in my living room with a nice room temperature. Finally opened it after 10 days and observed there is big crack in the middle of the board so I immediately called coconut hills store and explained, they said no problem please bring it back we will exchange it with new one, at this point the store created a hope in me and I was positive and drove back 110 miles for exchange, talk to the person who is working on cash register. That employee looked at me sarcastically and said you need to talk to store manager, store manager was right next to us when we are having this conversation and he was listening the whole conversation, he immediately left from there. I was searching for the store manager so there was girl working at the back office and I requested her can I talk to store manager and she asked me what the matter and I is explained the situation. She exchanged few words in walky-talky and she said oh the store manager is doing prayer now you need to wait if you want to talk to him and I waited for 40 minutes and he is still not coming out so I went back side of the store from parking lot and he was unloading his stuff from a little van. I waived my hand, he came to me and I explained again my situation, strait he said we do not exchange then I said when I called and explained my issue you guys asked me to bring the board for exchange but now you are saying that we never told you to come back. I told him this is just a lie and false advertising. He still insisted that he never promised.I am most annoyed and disappointed with their service and double standards; this store is just ripping of people money. I waisted my time, energy, money and found no honesty when I did the business with these guys. I am again saying this is not about the money just these guys do not have any ethics and principles. On top of this story, I will give you one more shocking information, after all this happened, I was very patient and said you want to take the broken carrom board and they took it and they kept it with them. My impression of this awful store has been tarnished. I trust this is not the way this Awful store wishes to conduct grocery business with valued customers.
Convenient place to get groceries in warm springs area. Little over priced compared to new India Bazar
Very helpful store personnel. Fresh veggies - especially many varieties of Keerai/Spinach.
There are fifty people in the line, and they still have only 2 counters opened. Other staffs are busy serving online delivery. Don’t go here if you value your time.
Nice place that has almost everything but most of the times the vegetables aren’t that fresh. Always crowded. Not organized. They seem to be always in expansion mode. Expensive compared to ICC or New India Bazar.
I bought frozen mutton a week ago when I open the meat packet the meat was sticky, slimy, tacky, and smelled really bad, whole house smelled terrible so decided to toss it. May be they are keeping the meat in freezer for too long or the meat could be very old. I have already filed a consumer complaint with California Department of Public Health.
Good place to get Indian grocery.1. Best part is you get freshly grated coconut. You need to ask that at the check out counter. As of writing this review, the price is $2.49 for 1 pack ~300g.2. Relatively fresh produce, especially Okra, Bitter Gourd, Snake Gourd, Ridge Gourd, Curry leaves.3. They also have plantain leaves.4. They do have additional inventory like utensils, Ayurvedic medicines, pooja related items5. Enough parking.6. They are currently renovating so the interior may feel a bit inconvenient.
The store has a lot of different types of food from regions of India but it is not organized very well, which makes it confusing to browse. I also wish it was a little cleaner.
Good store for south Indian staples, snacks and spices..
I have been visiting this store for a year now. A year ago, the store was small and congested; I had also commented that the checkout lines were slow. The store is undergoing some expansion. The lines are slightly faster, though I still prefer shopping during non-rush hours. They do have a wide assortment of vegetables, grains, Indian malts, incense and many more items. The prices are the very reasonable compared to other Indian stores in the bay area. One drawback is the many items dont have their prices mentioned at the places where they are stocked/displayed (very few have them). Displaying prices openly especially when they are so reasonable will be very helpful.
One of the best Indian grocery stores, always happy customer reps and u will find everything you need here.
Really disappointed with coconut hill. Got coffee from them on April 20 2021 at a sale which said 2 for $4 and the original price is $2.50 each. Checked the date before opening the bottle at home and found that the coffee had already expired in March 2021 and they’ve printed August 2021 on top of that. Such a fraudulent behavior. Unknowingly selling expired product is totally understandable but trying to cheat consumers by erasing the expired date and reprinting another date is really frustrating. Just because it’s on a 50 cent off deal you guys want us to buy expired products? I’m never going back to coconut hill and would ask all of my friends to stop going there as well.
Small store. Difficult to find things. Need to spend time on picking the vegetables as they are sometimes rotten.
Good selection of South Indian grocery and fresh vegetables.
Billing Alert - they charged for an item four times when we bought only one. I am glad we checked the bill.
It is a good place for indian groceries 👍. Must go shop in bay area.
Conveniently located Indian grocery store. Wide selection of all things Indian. Lots of cut vegetables, fresh fruits, ready to eat foods like biriyani, curries, etc! Quite spacious store.. surprisingly! 👍
If you need anything special for Indian Festival... This is one stop Junction.
This place has been my go-to place for Indian groceries for about 2 years now. Their stock is always fresh and the staff is extremely friendly! I’m here at-least thrice a month and have never gone without finding what I was looking for!
Extensive grocery store catering mostly to Indian customers. Shopping area and storage space is quite cramped and needs to be increased.
Good grocery store.
Good Indian groceries collection and I best liked their cut vegetables, they were finely chopped and packed neatly. This place is for Kerala based items though you get all general Indian groceries here.Curry leaves cost $1.99 which alone was not ok for me and they told they give 6 strands whereas other stores give 3 strands for 99c.I somehow was not convinced with that explanation.
It is clean, well organized, and produce is fresh. The store representatives are very helpful and recommend products to meet our needs. Parking can be a problem at this store. Also few items such as Amul Ghee is expensive compared to other Indian stores in Santa Clara.
Good Indian store for groceries. Veggies are also good. Will find most of Indian grocerie items.
The store is open for business though there is a remodeling going on.
Quiet time out. Just had to get away from traffic.
Best place to get rare south indian spesfic items..
Good for reduced prices on vegetable. And I liked the sliced vegetables as it saves lot of time while cooking. The chicken and mutton meat they sell was never frozen. we feel the difference in taste after cooking them. Anticipate a longer wait times for checkout lines. Busiest times are weekday evenings, Saturdays. For saving times, it is ideal to go on weekday mornings or Sunday evenings. I like fresh gongura from this store.
Too crowded with nature aisles. They have a great collection of products
They have very good fresh produce and groceries. They have a huge collection of snacks and regular indian groceries which is way better than many chains here in bay area. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW any COVID GUIDELINES. They do not clean the shopping carts, baskets. They do not limit the number of people inside the store. They do not offer or recommend gloves. They do not advice people about physical distancing. It was a disaster scene. I will update the rating if they change their attitude in this front.
Good selections of Indian food.
Small place but very well stocked. Their pre-cut vegetables have saved several quick lunches at our home
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great collection of indian grocery.
It has decent variety of items. But they dont put prices properly on items. Be careful with billing and check it before leaving. Sometimes they put higher price (some people).
Very good indian especially south indian grocery store (for malayalis special). Kept cut veggies so fine. And all goods are fresh and the snacks are very good. They kept sea food and meat . The store is so excellent but I feel little costly. But might be for quality. Fresh grated coconut is special. Do visit once atleast
Good place for groceries. Lots of good tamil groceries. Also Ayurveda products on sale.
I felt suffocating in utensils and pooja items room yesterday
We get almost every indian grocery here. Fresh vegetables, meat and kotakkal ayurvedic medicines. We also get typical tamilnadu spices and herbs. Love to buy groceries here
Friendly and good customer service
Shops and things are good. Really very good shop I m regular customer too I recommend most of the friends. But nowadays poor customer service Really disopinted from staffs.
Clean and eell kept store. Friendly staff and owners; they had all kinds of spinach and indian groceries.
Friendly neighborhood Indian grocery store. Best quality vegetables in the area.
Great choices of Indian groceries at competitive prices.
Very good Indian grocery store. Always carry cut vegetables, fresh jack fruit. Neatly maintained.
Very good place. Fresh vegetables and dairy products. Nice and convenient store. Good variety of both north Indian and South Indian stuff and very easy to locate. Relatively small compare to other large and super crowded Indian stores.
I like this place a lot.. people who work here are very good.. soft spoken and care for customer.. I bought one pressure cooker which got some issue after couple of days of purchase.. I did not had receipt but these people helped me to process the refund and tried to help me as much as possible with order.. I must say Indian store with American style customer value.. :)
Had most south indian groceries.
Fresh, professional and friendly. March 2020 - this is one store keeps open, manages crowds well and keeps refreshing stock regularly - The store is clean and organized well. Even though it is not one of the biggest - it definitely is the best.
Most of the indian grocery items available
We can wide range of South Indian vegetables here. All vegetables are super fresh. Fast billing is a major plus.Area to improve: The shelf arrangement is messy.
Unclean but wide varieties...rude shoppers
Best place to buy Indian plants. They had curry leaf plant, Tulsi plant, Beetle leaf plant, Karpoorvalli plant, Banana plant, Pomegranate plant, Murugaikai/ drum stick plant, Papaya plant etc. They said they’ll have more different kind of Indian plants available after February. I will go back in February!!!!
Almost every indian stuff you need and mostly good quality
Long billing queues poor social distancing. Fantastic collection of groceries, including cut fresh vegetables and special South Indian spice blends.
Good variety of food, everyday and festival needs. You may not find the exact product you are looking for but ypumight find an alternative.
Lots of fresh vegetables and frozen food. It was crowded when I visited this afternoon and people are lined up to pay for their groceries. Customer service is not that great but ok. A nice verity of fresh Indian vegetables available for an affordable price.I will visit again
Just got back from Coconut Hill. Social distancing is not being followed. Wearing masks alone is not sufficient. People have to maintain at least 6 feet from each other. Owner: Please monitor and enforce immediately. Thank you.
You can get all items required for Indian style cooking... Big store still little congested...
Best grocery having all varieties of the Indian Masada and groceries
I have been to this outlet on each and every trip I make South to Fremont and shop for Indian groceries (I can be specific here - South Indian groceries) and never been disappointed with the products they have in stock almost always. The staff is friendly but hard to distinguish from customers as they dont have uniforms. This is quite discerning as almost every time I have visited I needed assistance to get the products I desired.Lack of uniforms made it hard to make out who worked there. You are then forced to walk to the cashiers and ask them for assistance. The owners should look into this aspect asap.
Our go to Indian grocery. They have fresh vegetables and produce. We usually get lentils and rice from here, as they move much faster than other Indian groceries.
All indian vegetables are available here but currently undergoing renovation and looks very congested.
Had a really bad experience. Not worth going. Staff is not following any covid 19 guidelines. Very congregated. No instructions and management to handle the crowds. No cleanliness at all. They are not wearing masks as they speak to you. Moreover they have jacked up the prices. Not going there again!
We have been going to Coconut Hill for a long time. Everything in the store is good quality. Owners are very nice and friendly people.
Very good Indian grocery store. Has got wide range of products at very competitive price. I love their range of pickles. Tomato thoku pickle is a must try if not tried already. This item is kept next to billing counter. I just wish they could also have dedicated non veg section. Hence 4 star rating.
Very nice Indian grocery store. You get very fresh and seasonal vegetables at very reasonable price. The grocery items are also very goodThey keep fresh chicken and goat also.Avoid Sunday evenings it is very crowded.
Just dont buy ice creams from here. Everything else is good.( Dont know about meat products). You get good vegetables during the morning hours.
Good one stop place for groceries. Lots of choices for vegetables. Gets very busy though. The only reason I think twice before going.
Best place for all mallu grocery
Looking for srilankan/ indian groceries, its pretty good place to visit ✌️
You get almost all the Indian spices and food ingredients.
One of the best indian Grocery stores in bay areaSpecially Organic indian ginger can always be found here along with many other rare green leafy vegetables
No enforcement of social distancing. Always crowded. Decent selection of saag and fish. Also many kinds of rice.
Coconut hill is not the cheapest anymore. In fact they are way more expensive than lot of Indian stores in Fremont. If you weigh quality vs price, price is definitely high. The store is maintained poorly, not clean
Awesome Indian grocery store to have indian stuff
Best indian grocery store in bay area
Good Indian store to find south Indian specific groceries. This is probably the only Indian store in the East Bay that sells South Indian cuisine green like manathakkali, drumstick leaves etc. Reasonably priced. They also have good clay pots.
One stop shopping grocery store, you’ll find everything you want with so very reasonable prices. Staff is super polite and customer friendly. Nice and clean, you won’t find things getting rotten or giving out smell anywhere.Huge parking lot, 4 tills to trade, queue is often very long but it takes only few minutes to reach the counter and be gone. They have everything I repeat “everything “ and for way reasonable prices as compare to any south Asian stores in all neighbouring cities including Fremont and San Jose.
Fresh vegetables and fair price for groceries
Convenient Indian grocery store. Offering curbside pickup
Amazing place...Cashiers are very helpful..Nowhere in Fremont we can get the country chicken and goat meat.Cut vegetables are blessing to working women.Love to spend on cut veggies as it saves lot of time..Biryani is awesome..Puffs are good and never had any bad experience..
Fresh cut vegetables and coconut
Decent Indian store with good quality vegetable especially the leafy ones.
Its a Indian grocery store with good variety of things and several competitive brands. Mostly the meat here ( halal) is known.
This store has good collection of Greens, Veggies, Grand Sweet/Snack items and Meat(Fresh Goat and Country Chicken). Not to forget, Jasmine over weekend.
Great Variety. Good quality fresh produce. Well organised
Good place for Indian grocery!!!Staff is amazing and they Do have grocery stocked up.
