The definition of cozy pub. Both indoors and outdoors are absolutely magical. The staff was kind and fast and accommodated our requests with ease (we had a booking for the terrace but after a bit realised it was getting chilly, asked the staff to be moved inside and they got us a table in a matter of minutes!). Starters were fantastic, the white crab salad was refreshing and tasty while the miso salmon was simple but a great combination of flavours. It was a shame the burgers werent more complex (reason of the 4 stars). While the meat was really good and probably one of the best we had in a while, everything else was just plain and the whole thing was missing a zing. Skin-on fries or blue cheese with have been a nice touch to make the burger a bit different. Anyway, would still recommend going here!Lovely atmosphere, decent food and great staff, if youre in the surroundings you must try The Willow Tree.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Freya served us and she was so lovely and accommodating. She was very understanding of a nut allergy and her service was brilliant. We had two glasses of wine with our dessert which came out a little bit late and they deducted the price off our final bill. Lovely staff and lovely food, highly recommend!
Great night out in the garden. The place looks magical with all the string lights and the lovely pods. Great drinks as well.
We booked a table through OpenTable for 3pm on Sunday. When we got there they said they were now closed and that the reservation should not have happened. They were so nice. They gave us a table and honoured the booking. The Willow Tree is great. Food was very good. Will definitely go back again
Recommended,we had my wifes birthday there with26 guests in the giant teepee. It all went wonderfully well, we had a starter and main course which was great. ourselves and a couple of our guests are vegetarians and they catered for us brilliantly. We would use the willow tree again for a venue.well done to the staff for a memorable evening 😀
It was a lovely warm evening. The food was very tasty. It was our first year anniversary. We had a Bluetooth speaker provided with hiring the dome. It was a nice surprise and we played our music all night. To close the night we went on the big swing under the willow tree. It was the best night out I had for a very long time. IF
I have to say we were left very very disappointed and hungry. The first complaint I have is we were early for our dome so we were told to have a seat in the deckchair area and we would be served a drink there, After sitting there for over 20 minutes we still had no service whatsoever. we were then called over to our dome.On sitting at the table we were greeted with ants everywhere (i understand its outdoors but ant traps are available) the water bottle was filthy and the glasses were equally as bad, the cutlery was also very dirty. The salt shaker was rusty! We were then still not served for at least another 15 minutes so at this point had been on site for 45 minutes without even a drink offered. Finally we got our drinks and gave our order. When our starter arrived it was freezing cold and without the parma ham as advertised on the menu. we left it and when the waitress came over she did not ask if everything was ok, she just said shall i take your plates? We had hardly eaten any of it. we informed her that it was without ham and was freezing cold. After a while we were bought replacement starters which were at least hot with a small amount of ham. We were told the chef was new and didnt know the menu? This does not seem like a reasonable excuse.when the plates were cleared we ordered a water with lemon that was bought out in an equally dirty looking bottle. Our mains arrived and we were not impressed at all! The chicken was only lukewarm and tasted awful. The gravy was like fatty water and the potatoes tasted of rancid fat. The carrots were dried up and gross and the greens were so stringy. We both ate the Yorkshire pudding that was it. The waiter came over to take our plates and said are we not happy to which we said no and explained the issues. His response was I insist you look at the dessert menu we told him we just wanted the bill but he insisted again we looked at the menu. He took our plates and came back to see if we wanted one. We told him no and wanted the bill.We got the bill which the starters had been removed but had just £1.80 of each main. 10% off each main of which we probably ate less than 10% of.We had been looking forward to coming to the dome for over a month and it was a mothers day present. We did not expect to leave hungry and very disappointed having paid over £95 in total (including the dome hire). This level of service is unacceptable and if good service and hygiene is not something you are able to provide this shouldnt be offered. We paid a lot of money for nothing.
I booked an hour before arriving and was lucky to be fitted in to clearly a busy restaurant, on arrival were warmly greeted by friendly attentive staff that looked after us impeccably well, the food was absolutely fantastic and good value for money, I cannot emphasize enough how much of a pleasant experience this was and highly recommend the venue, I shall certainly be returning to sample more of the menu at this little village gem
Tried dome dining, the atmosphere is lovely, so quiet. Rained while we were there which added to the magic. Pub is very pretty.Taking Covid seriously, hand sanitiser available and masks needed when not seated.Heater in the dome was good, kept it comfortable within. The food was excellent, highly recommend.
A wonderful evening in beautiful surroundings and dining out in a dome, such fun. Friendly staff, highly recommend eating here. All occasions catered for.
Lovely venue, pods are a fantastic experience in the evening. Staff were all well meaning all be it a little chaotic (alcoholic drink served instead of non, requesting cutlery/water twice, wrong items on the menu!) Teething problems with a change in management but the food was good.
This was a lovely place, super helpful and friendly staff, excellent food and service and the children had such a great time highly recommended! We were in the teepee but there are also pods, outside dining and indoor seating.
Awesome venue !Great service, outstanding menu. Booked to go back.
Fantastic find. Brilliant all round. Staff mainly Italian made the atmosphere. We will return.
Visited last weekend to enjoy our personal bubble experience! We all enjoyed our visit to The Willow Tree and the bubble experience as it was novel and interesting to try out. Without heating it does get rather chilly unfortunately and we all were thankful for the blankets we asked for. Having the plastic zipper shut and Covid precautions also made the serving difficult with our very nice waiting team having to pass all the dishes and drinks in. The food was of a good standard and everyone enjoyed their meals. Make sure you have data on your phones or preselect your meals as there are no paper menus to look through due to Covid. I would visit again but £40 premium for the bubble is not justified and I would be happy in the main restaurant area outside instead.
Lovely food. The current C19 perspex igloo garden meal pricing is weird to me - a fixed fee for the igloo that isnt taken off the food bill? No ta.Still, thats optional and when I went the main building itself was not crowded at all.
What a joke. 0/10Wrong location menus.ordered from the menu qr code was wrong and so food went to wrong pub!The willow tree pretty much said wasnt there fault. They put the menu on there table and no signs saying issue etcHe is American military so refund is near impossible.Disappointed,Wrecked a good day.Poor management
Had a pleasant Sunday roast here today. It was fine but, at £20, rather expensive. Drinks weren’t cheap either. Fine if you have deep pockets.
Great evening out.In a nice bubble. Given a Bluetooth speaker to sort out own music.Food was excellent.
Visited this place last night for our anniversary. We were impressed by their menu and also on their website they are specifying that the food is created from high quality and FRESH ingredients, which was exactly what we were looking for, especially when its so pricey. We had high expectations but we were very disappointed first of all by their very low standards of service and cleanliness - cutlery and glassware dirty, the water bottle was filthy and had some plastic cups on top.And second, the food was (I am going to say it nicely) not edible!1.Tomato pasta was overcooked, I ordered a side of fries for my son so he can eat something,2. Wild mushroom risotto was a reheated mushy gloop in a puddle of cream.3.Lobster and seafood pappardelle, the lobster was something dry, though and tasted like the smell of the freezer and the pasta way too overcooked.4.Dessert was even worse: the trifle of English strawberries (a baby food texture with a sour, stale taste )completed the disastrous experience. Its going to take a while to forget the awful taste of it .Its horrendous how much they charge for the poor quality food they serve.Dont be fooled by the nice pictures, keep your money and go elsewhere.
Food was good. Service was very slow. Ended up cancelling coffee and paying bill
Went for Family time Sunday lunch, booked for 1:15was served main meal at 3:30.Whilst we appreciate, coming out of lockdown and increase in customers, we would like you to be sensitive to young families with babies and toddlers. It is hard enough for young parents to get out to restaurants, so please don’t leave them waiting so long.Half of our party had to leave early for the sake of the infants.
Had starters & mains- Food was all very bland and under-loved. Felt like it was just churned out without any care or attention to detail. It was a special occasion (partners 25th) so was particularly disappointing as we (she) was looking forward to it for a long time. The waiter was a very charming and and polite bloke so that was a plus I suppose. I’m not one to write reviews but wanted to make people aware, save your money and go some place else.
Wonderful. Great vibes.Yummy desserts. My family loved the swings too.
Excellent food and service. We sent our parents there for a special occasion and they had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.
Booked a dome for partners birthday and arrived on time but dome was not ready so was asked to wait in deck chair area, as the weather was dry we did not mind. The dome lighting was beautiful and it was lovely and warm. The menu was very limited and for a couple of us nothing really jumped out at us. The staff were lovely and friendly even though they did prompt us for service charge before we paid, as we spent nearly £300 I felt this was awkward. The calamari, was mushy and bland like scampi, very disappointing. The food is nothing special but the staff and atmosphere were lovely It was a shame as we recommended the place.
Just OK food, TBH overpriced for the quality. Far better within 5 mile radius.
Do not eat here if you have somewhere to be afterwards. Service is incredibly slow, it took 3 hours for our party of 4 to get our 3 courses during a lunch sitting, the waiters dont come to check on how your food is or if you need any drinks/sauces etc, and the drinks wed ordered had to be chased up. The food is very very overpriced for what you get. Fish stew was full of bones and very bland despite the spiciness, burger was bland and fries undercooked. The food isnt disgusting but at 20+ quid a main we were expecting better. All of the outdoor seating is in total shade and the place has no atmosphere. Do not recommend.
Disappointing, nothing but problems at the time which from time to time happens but no excuse for not having back up plan and simply service standards. Having to ask for water for the table 3 times is not correlated with the internet service provider being down...or is it? Of course not. Aside from that quite over priced for the quality....so a performance discount prevented 1 star.
Had a fantastic Christmas lunch there. Service and staff were amazing. It was particularly reassuring to see how seriously they took precautions against the virus. We booked the domes or bubbles outside and they made for a spellbinding experience. The food was just brilliant! I had the venison and my wife had a mushroom dish. We were too stuffed to finish the dessert (Christmas pudding for me poached pear++ for my wife) even though it too was fantastic. Overall, would highly recommend! Thanks for an amazing experience!
Original, well organised and good food too. Professional host too 👍
Absolutely amazing pub restaurant, great food, very nice service, lovely set up.
What a menu! Try the Caesar croquettes.Everythings cooked to order - and it shows.Instagrammable interiors and a decent terrace and back garden.
Absolutely amazing. Lovely food, fab service and amazing atmosphere!
Lovely food and really friendly staff who work so hard. My wife, my three sons and I had a great meal.
Really good food and service despite having more people outside in the garden than inside! I will definitely be back.
Lovely place friendly staff good food, I would highly recommend The Willow Tree.
Superb meal and brilliant staffCant wait to return
Very nice place i would like to have some food here in one of their domes
Sat on terrace, next to the car park. Heating not working so both got a chill and won’t be returning any time soon - very disappointed. Food nice - may try again when we can sit inside.
We loved the dome and was very picturesque but £45 booking additional fee is a bit much. When it came to the food, it was a bit of a let down. Very expensive for what you get, very bland. I had squid to start same as a friend and we both agreed that the batter tasted like what you get on mozzarella dippers from mcdonalds, plus the squid was gooey and not nice. The pasta mains was OK but £25 for a bowl of pasta is slightly excessive. All in all 4 of us had a starter, mains and 2 drinks each which came to over £200. Much better places out there with better food at more reasonable prices. Definitely wont be returning and I recommend giving it a miss.
Great food but *really* slow service. Even the card machine hadnt arrived 20 minutes after the bill was brought.
Lovely pub, fantastic food, excellent service, brilliant garden with teepee with fire pit, domes with chandeliers, just lovely
Lovely place and settings but service was a bit on the slow side considering there wasnt many customers
Great place, great experience and awesome food.
Good location, excellent food, definitely will be back
Food was amazing, great service too, really magical evening in one of the dining pods. Definitely recommend.
Great food, well presented. Very friendly staff.
Very nice place but very slow to serve food and drinks. High price for what you get
Amazing food and the outside area is second to none. Cant word how great it really is. 👍
Really nice setting, loved the pods and tge service was amazing but the food wasnt quite as good expected. Great experience though
Nice food and nice atmosphere.
Great place, food is very good, staff are excellent, very covid safe well done guys.
Nice pub and good social distancing bubbles
Nice meal and great venue. Staff were excellent too.
First time visit and booked to have lunch in one of their outdoor pods with family. Its currently only outdoor seating and with the recent rainy weather it was ideal to be uncover. Tables and chairs were not as clean as would have liked and my cushioned chair was wet. Had to wipe down the surfaces. Food was good and tasty however. May return but likely when we can sit indoors.
Cracking Garden Pad Experience tonight for your Silver Wedding Anniversary xxx
Me and my partner were in the area and fancied a roast. We found this restaurant on google and gave it a go and we were not disappointed! Staff were really friendly, service was quick and the food was lovely! Definitely recommend. We also noticed the private bubbles in the garden and will probably look to re visit once all this lockdown is over!
Booked one of the Domes. Was a lovely experience, food was very good. Did take a while for the food to arrive though, and 1 round of drinks we ordered did not arrive at all.We were asked to leave the Dome and move into the pub as you can only have the dome for 2 hours. Dessert was a bit rushed as the food took longer than expected to arrive.Domes are heated and lit, pleasant experience, would do it again but the £40 booking fee I thought was a bit expensive.
The most delicious chicken in Cambridgeshire:)
Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff
Food was just normal pub food, lat time I went it was more Gastro pub type food so a bit disappointing. Also £80 for the 2 of us felt steep consideing it was just standard pub grub
Lovely food and atmosphere
Not impressed, had afternoon tea, not even provided with a pot of tea, had a separate coffee and tea which we where charged extra for, wont he returning, vastly overpriced and overated
Dine at the dome was a wonderful experience! So pretty and romantic at night !The domes are heated so nice & cosyFood was very good qualityCocktails 🍸 great! Will definitely be returningHighly recommended
First visit to the Willow Tree and it was lovely. Popped in for a “Business Brunch”. Got a lovely table right by the roaring fire. Brunch was Poached Eggs, Avocado, Halloumi and Chilli Jam! Amazing. The Guy that served us was super friendly & smiley. Would totally come back here...can’t believe it’s not been on my Radar until now! I feel like I’ve missed out.
Ok. Felt is was a bit tired.
Had lunch in one of the garden pods. Cosy and warm in spite of the wind and rain. Food was excellent and the servers friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend. Ate and drank well for less than £50 a head
Their dine at dome bubbles were an absolute treat. Great atmosphere and hats off to the staff bringing in the food and drinks through the zipper doors. It was a truly magical evening. Thank you!
Great food and amazing service.
Good service and great food
Was excellent as always
Had dome lunch, food was excellent. The adult Bailys milkshake was AMAZING
Have eaten here a number of times over the years but post Covid 19 have been using their takeaway service. Highly recommended - apart from the food being good there is meticulous care over social distancing and the people are just lovely. Support them so that they are still there when we are again allowed to eat socially. They are going to great lengths to support us during the pandemic.
An absolutely beautiful place and lovely food. Definitely worth a visit
Outdoor domes great experience.
Lovely place with friendly staff. Picturesque and romantic. Look forward to visiting again.
Food and staff absolutely brilliant, Great experience had and cant wait to visit again
I caught the bus outside I didnt go inside!
Good food Good beer Good service
Food was great, setting beautiful and we had a really good night. The domes added a new twist and were surprisingly warm and sound proofed compared to what we expected.
Couldnt recommend this place more. After having been recommended the willow tree as a venue for our marriage my wife and I came for lunch with a couple of friends to check it out. The food was excellent and the venue unique and beautiful. We confirmed that we wanted to get married here and things just got better and better. We came back three or four times to arrange the day with the owner who made us feel completely comfortable from day one and even thought of things that we hadnt thought about for the day. They helped us to build a bespoke menu for each of our guests and based it on our tastes. We came back for a food tasting and tried each of the courses which was a lovely evening in itself. When it came to the day itself everything went seamlessly much of the thanks has to go to the owner Shaina and her staff who were always on call to help.I could go on, but to summarise I would recommend the willow tree to anyone looking for a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting through to a bigger event such as a birthday or wedding. The beautiful garden, wonderful decor and delicious food make it a venue not to miss.
Fantastic village pub. Really great service!
First date night with the wife post baby #2 and this was the perfect venue to go to. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. I had the Pork Terrine starter and Chicken Schnitzel as my main, yummy!!!!!!!!!
