This was a amazing gem I found being new. Person there was nice and polite. Lets get onto the ice cream God their homemade ice cream really was great! I left feeling happy and my child was happy too. They old style bowls where a great touch as well. Made me feel like they value everything quality more vs cold stone which I havent been impressed with.

Me and my girlfriend love to go here when we can. Its a nice local place with really good ice cream. We love all the fun, creative flavors. We tried the honey cinnamon flavor with salty caramel - so good!On one occasion, we had terrible service - but the next time we came back, it was much better. I am glad that theyre open again - we really missed this place!

So glad this place is open again. Got a milkshake with half white chocolate half house chocolate and some of their homemade peanut butter topping. So good! My daughter is usually good with two scoops, she got cookies and cream. As often happens, I finished hers. Great local homemade ice cream here.

A quaint little shop with a lot of unique flavors. The quality is good and you cant beat the price! There is indoor and outdoor seating available. I only wish they would clean up the front walk a little bit.

I went there last week Ive got to say even though its a bit pricey one of the better ice cream places in Gainesville you can experience. Friendly staff and good service.

Much better than all the run of the mill frozen yogurt places (which fail in their shameless attempt to be ice cream-like). The hazelnut, chocolate, and mint chip were all delicious. Plus, they serve it in little metal bowls with real spoons - not plastic - which is a nice touch. Worth the short drive from campus if youre in the area. good job!

We have been here a few times with friends and I have to say they have some strange but wonderful flavors. The people here are nice and the facility is clean. The only thing that I would knock is that they had some freezer burn on some of the ice cream I mean it happens and that is why I kept it at a 5 star.

Deciding to add some actual info here, Im a middle school theatre kid lol, we come here for cast parties after shows since I was in like 6th grade and its always been great, friendly service and good food, especially for having to deal with a bunch of dramatic teenagers- :>

Adorable ice cream shop. They have a variety of unique flavors and options. The staff is nice about letting your try different flavors too. They also have cute shirts for sale ($12each) and a kids play center.

Small selection and a cluttered dining area. But I get the sense that they are adjusting to a pandemic driven decrease in business. The server was kind to my children, and four people got two scoops and a topping for less than $20. They also offer a discount for cash, which is refreshing when so many other businesses are struggling to accept cash at all.

We lucked on their ice cream truck in our neighborhood this evening! The nicest folks. Thank you so much being so kind. Much needed and much appreciated right now. Eat their ice cream! Its the best in town hands down.

Sweet Dreams is a local business. They always have fresh ice cream made in house. They have loyalty punch cards for returning customers and if you follow them on Facebook you can see when they do flavor events at various times of the year. Honestly, I cant imagine going anywhere else in town for ice cream. The flavor options are unique and theres always something for everyone. My personal favorite is their rose ice cream, but they have lots of other flavors I like as well. Flavors change so its not the same each time you go. Definitely a great place to stop if you want to try something new that isnt just standard ice cream.

Friendly staff, very helpful. I requested a shake, and it was very good flavor, but was a bit on the small side for 6 dollars. Requested a straw and was informed they Dont do straws. But its a shake? I get it, were saving the planet by not having plastic straws, but the year is 2020. For 6 dollars, I would assume they could budget for some paper straws.

Only decided to give this place a 4/5 because of the service. The ice cream is still bang on, but man, last two visits with two young girls who were not helpful and apparently used two words “yes” and “no” 🙃

I went to university here and after moving to New York city, Ive found Sweet Dreams is the one store I miss more than any other Gainesville store. Even the ice cream in the city doesnt compare.The ice cream here regularly changes so I recommend going often to try new flavors. The flavors are always good. Keep an eye out for crazy chocolate night or crazy flavor night. Theres live music and usually over 30 different delicious flavors of ice cream.Seriously if youre in town, stop by:)

SOOOO pleasantly surprised by this place! All the ice cream is made in house and they have flavor combinations I have NEVER seen before in my life! Flavors are also changed out regularly, so you never know what youll see when you walk through the door. Prices are as satisfying as the quality of the ice cream. They make their own brownies and cones too! Staff is over the top with their level of customer service, and they are definitely a tradition for the Gainesville area. If you want the true local ice cream shop experience, you MUST give this place a try!

Crazy Flavor Day was the best. You cant beat trying 30 new, off-the-wall flavors for $25. Got to remember to bring egg cartons next time to keep the flavors separated.Canteloup orange blossom, watermelon basil and earl grey need to make the regular rotation. Parmesan ice cream never needs to happen again.

Soooo goooood. Their ice cream is made in-house and the flavors are delicious, interesting and different. Im lactose intolerant, but like a true glutton for punishment, I go there and indulge anyway because its just too good to pass up. Seriously. Its worth your time to go there and try all of the interesting flavors and indulge yourself.

Went here on a whim and found it to be average at best. Tables were a little dirty, they only had tap water that I had to serve myself out of a hand washing sink in the back of the store. Tables were grimy. Ice cream was tasty though. The strawberry flavor is really good.

I went for a milkshake and ended up getting the cookies and cream flavor with the cookie butter flavor. After tasting it I was pretty disappointed with it since it had little flavor at all. There wasnt even any whipped cream to enjoy. it wasnt worth the almost $6 I had paid.

Only reason they dont get 5 stars is because they dont have waffle bowls, just my preference. Pricing is decent too compared to places like cold stone.

Sweet dreams offered us two samples after which I had remaining uncertainties. I ended up choosing a safer flavor because I couldnt commit to something more out there without having tasted it. Its the true ice cream palor that is also local. Made in house and decorated like the shops of yesteryear. Especially like that they arent afraid of making unique flavors and trying something different. They also offer special nights throughout the year for different flavors like chocolate night or wacky flavors.

In short: Hands down, the best ice cream Ive ever had. In long: they have an excellent selection of ice cream flavors, from traditional to adventurous. Their coffee, salted caramel, and Mayan chocolate are my favorites, but there are plenty of other excellent options, too. In addition they hold a few special events every year, including one on National Ice Cream Day. And, with their extended hours, its easy to treat yourself at pretty much any time.

My favorite place for ice cream. Anywhere. Ever. Want a shake instead? Then try a mocha java made with coffee instead of milk. They can even make an old-fashioned malted. I highly recommend joining their Facebook group so you know when their crazy flavor and wild chocolate nights will be. Its a double plus good time and nearly a street party with live music to make the wait seem to go a little faster (the line is usually out the door and down the sidewalk for these events! ).

Prices are great at this hole-in-the-wall style local ice cream shop. Theres plenty of unique flavors that are surprisingly good. I tried chocolate lavender and cake batter. The size selection is also good, for people wanting to indulge or just have a fix of ice cream.

Delish! We came specifically for the sugar-free Butter Pecan and, seriously, you wouldnt know that its anything-free. The two sugar-free flavors were actually almost the same, so I would have loved more options, but it was still delicious so well visit again!

Sweet Dreams is one of the best treasures in Gainesville. They have a phenomenal staff, a wide variety of delicious flavors, and while there can be a crowd, theyre usually really quick, too. They also have no problem letting you sample the different flavors so you can find just what youre looking for.Try their waffle cones too! They rock! On second thought, I wanna make sure theres some there for me.. forget the waffle cone... you didnt want one anyway!

Amazing sundaes, everything Ive tried has been great. BUT, dem hours need to be updated. I went tonight at 10:20, thinking that they would be open until 11 as listed on Google. Not sure if its an oversight by Sweet Dreams/Google, or if the hours have changed recently and the online profile doesnt reflect this. Either way, this place is the bees knees, as long as you know what the correct hours are.(FYI: as of May 4, 2015: M-Thur: closes at 10 pm; Fri-Sun: closes at 11 pm; Google says 11 pm every night)
