The customer service here is absolutely abysmal. The manager is completely unresponsive after multiple attempts to contact him and has made zero attempts to find a resolution for a bogus charge on our account. I’ve called, I’ve emailed, I’ve filled out dispute forms- everything has been ignored. Beyond frustrated. We will definitely be avoiding this location like the plague for future moves.

Poor job service. We needed a trailer so we wanted to install a hitch mount but they did not do the wiring. Because of this, I did not receive the service that I expected. They told me that we were finished but when I arrived at the store, they made me wait another hour while they were working on another car. I did not have time to wait an entire hour especially when the job I wanted was not finished.

Dont go to this location and dont schedule anything if you value your time and are serious. The location is a joke with no management and no responsibility. They will cancel your appointment and will not pick up the phone ever. Minus 5 stars and if all Uhaul is like this, then perhaps they have a huge problem.

I made a reservation 2 days in advance and when I got there, the truck I reserved was not there. The person helping me spent over 45 minutes with me before he finally told me that my truck was not there. They should have called ahead of time. Do not use this location. Very poor service. A total waste of time.

Horrible service. We arrived at 7:15am for a truck pick up for a cross national move. The place was open and after one customer was helped, the person at the front desk left the counter to start cleaning up in the back shop. We could not find anyone to help us at the front desk. We waiting for over 20 minutes before anyone arrived to let us pick up our reserved truck. A group of seven plus customers were waiting in line with no one to help us. When we got our truck, it was sandwiched in between other vehicles and no one was available to help us retrieve it. With a cross country move we had a variety of movers scheduled along the way. This was not the way we wanted to start our day.

Poor service overall. We booked a 26 footer an entire month before we needed it. The day before it was time to pick up our truck, they only had a 20 footer. Neat. We also rented a car tow hitch for our second car and they failed to properly add it to our bill. Because we had to use a 20 footer instead of the 26 footer we originally booked, we had to make 2 trips. The movers we originally booked, also a month in advance through THEIR website, ended up being banned from entry onto Fort Meade when they came that morning to move us. My husband and myself had to load our truck up on our own. Now when its time to drop the truck and tow back off to them, they have changed where the drop off location is. Every aspect of this move was chaos thanks to Uhaul and I plan on never using them again.

Okay it started out great but when I got to the location they could not complete the paperwork and there was a problem getting the tow dolly ready.They told me I could pick up early and that there would not extra charge but that did not include the dolly.This was not a smooth experience and the national hotline takes too long to answer.

U-haul allowed us to book our rental at another location, then the day before decided to change the location to this one 40 mins away because apparently our item wasnt available at the place we booked. Came here to stand in line for 30 mins. Could barely get the trailer out because everything was so tightly packed. Not planning on using U-haul again after this - the furthest thing from user friendly

Truck was quite old (>140k mi.) and was difficult to drive well. Overcharged me mileage even though i alerted them to the issue. Did not respond to my email and it took a half hour on the phone for them to fix the issue. I will never rent from UHaul again.

Buffoons. The first cancellation was due to either a mechanic being injured OR a nationwide backlog of trailer hitches. Was given two stories. My second cancellation (today) was that they unbeknownst to me took it upon themselves to take the reservation I made in Hagerstown for this morning 09/8/20 and rescheduled it for their location on 9/18 (3 days later than their original rescheduled 9/15). They made this decision FOR me? Not helpful, especially since I’ve been packed and ready to leave for Nevada a week ago, NOT FOR HAULING A BOAT! They had no right to assume there wasn’t a time issue. Getting a refund is another ordeal. This location is a symptom of a logistics company that can’t even manage their own supply chain. Pathetic. Uhaul has become a joke.

To say I am floored by how awful my experience with Uhaul has been, is a complete understatement. My boyfriend and I booked a 5x8 trailer and a hitch installation at the Gaithersburg, MD (Snouffer School Rd) location in early Jan. UHAUL installed the hitch. And we picked up the 5x8 trailer in mid January to do a cross country move. The 2nd day of our trip, the HITCH FELL OFF ON HIGHWAY 40. We waited an hour and a half on the side of 40 for a local towing company to take us to the Jackson, TN UHaul.There, they assessed that the hitch was not installed properly because on the underside of the car where it was attached, it was rusted. This is why we paid Uhaul specifically to check the car and do the installation to look for things like this. We were put in extreme life threatening danger due to the failed inspection/installation at the Gaithersburg location. At Jackson, TN location, the helpful people there assisted us with transferring our belongings into a UBOX to send to our final location because we couldnt do any of the other options. The Gaithersburg location agreed to pay for this. My boyfriend got refunded for the hitch but I did not get refunded for the trailer and instead they said they put it towards the UBOX delivery.After being told we would have updates the entire way about the whereabouts of our UBOX I called UHAUL customer service at least 3+ times to check on the status. We were told they couldnt give any updates and that our GUARANTEED DELIVERY was Weds, 2/10/21. That it would be delivered to Panorama City first, and THEN a closer location.Today, after having heard nothing from UHAUL still, I called the Panorama City location and the woman who works there (who was very helpful) said it had been there SINCE FEBRUARY 3rd. She also at first said we could not pick it up BECAUSE IT HAD NOT BEEN PAID FOR. Upon explaining our situation, she attempted to get in contact with Johnathan Fluores from Gaithersburg, but was unable to. She has arranged for us to come pick up our ubox now.Not only have we been sleeping in our new apt on the floor for 2 weeks, but we were told NO information even after I called SEVERAL TIMES TO INQUIRE. I have had to delay going home for my grandmothers funeral for this, even though it has been 8 miles away since THE THIRD.I would like the rest of my money for the trailer refunded from Johnathan at the Gaithersburg location. This has been an agonizing disaster.I will never use uhaul again after this and recommend you do not either, especially for long term moves.

We used a small 10ft truck last week to empty a unit and prepare for our big move coming this week. Natalie Burgess at the 8501 Gaithersburg, MD address was outstanding!! She was helping customers, spraying down pickup truck beds, answering calls and provided excellent service for me!! I would highly recommend her for services. Many customers come in with attitudes and rediculous gripes but she made it through in a breeze. Thank you Natalie!!

Be careful at this uhaul location. My bike was stolen and this uahuls location manager was extremely nonchalant. Johnathan informed me that the bike was picked up by the county sanitation department, however I spoke with the sanitation department and there weren’t any records of my bike being picked up leaving me to believe an employee took my bike. Be extremely careful at this uhaul location.

Even though they get to be very busy on the weekend because everyone is spending their weekend moving things, the staff was very accommodating. They helped with everything that I needed and did so very expediently. Renting a vehicle is very reasonable and not too expensive. Everything makes this uhaul a great company to give your business to. The only complaint is parking but that cannot be helped as they are on a steep hill.

I rented their largest truck 26ft for moving my 2 bed room apartment. We had lots if extra room to spare and no mechanical issues whatsoever. However I am knocking one star because the store manager forgot to correct my vehicle mileage. It was 1 mile over that I did NOT drive. I know its not that serious but worth mentioning.

While moving to the area I used a U-Haul trailer to move and was told I would get 1-month free storage due to the trailer rental. Long story short, I ended up getting charged the day I moved everything in and was less than thrilled to shell out $200, given I wasnt expecting to pay anything for the unit. However, after speaking with customer service, they suggested I contact the store manager directly to get the issue resolved, and Jonathan Flores was fantastic. Johnathan provided exceptional customer service, apologizing for the misunderstanding, and refunded me what I paid the same day we spoke. If I need a trailer or storage unit again, I will definitely use this U-Haul in the future!

After using the truck, I returned it to this location. The so called manager told me I am good to go, I will get the receipt via email.After 20 or 30 minutes, I received the email and I was a little surprised to see a gas charge for $8. I returned the truck after filling the tank to almost full which was more than I supposed to. I left the receipt inside for them to see it. I guess no one cares about it. Beware people.

They were quick and helpful. The only thing is they forgot to mention that you have to purchase one of their locks for your unit or you will be charged the same price of the lock for them to change it. So far the lock was the only issue I have had to face with them.

I’ve rented from many Uhaul locations throughout the east coast, and even with pre-renting the truck.. the check in process took so very long. I was wondering why the line to wait in was so big.. until we finally checked in. Quite possibly the least efficient place to get anything done. Impressively slow!

Terrible return experience. Signage clearly identifies return location. After pulling in, outdoor staff rudely tells us we can’t return equipment there and have to pull around back. We explain the signage tells us to return at this location. Staff tells us to do what we’re told. Also threatens a $25 charge if we don’t fold the furniture blankets. It’s difficult to maneuver out of the return location, and once we arrive out back there is no signage and no staff to help. We have to go back up front to request someone come to the back to help us. During the entire experience the outdoor staff treated us like we were an inconvenience. Recommend using another location or a different company.

He came in and made it all right for me so I could drive the tow dolly out of DC to Indiana on that day. Large U-Haul with a wide variety of trucks in very good condition. We rented a Ram pickup that had only 604 miles on it! Definitely recommend reservations, as this place is busy.Pickup was easy and reasonably quick, but drop-off was a pain (that cost them a star). Staff was pretty friendly and helpful, and the store can sell you anything you forgot (tie downs, tarps, etc)

I had a towing hitch installed on my Nissan Altima. After making my appointment, I got three different calls and text messages to confirm my appointment and to let me know that the part is available. I arrived at the facility which looked awesome. Well organized. The staff at the desk were very courteous and friendly. I believe the mechanic who worked on my car was Juan Garci who did excellent job and it took him only 45 minutes. The cost was the lowest I could ever find in and around Frederick, a total of $221.25 covering parts, labor, live time warranty, and taxes. You cant beat that. I am very happy and I would recommend them for friends.

Wish I had another source for trailer rentals. I’m always dissatisfied. Even with pre-check process takes way too long. Requesting 3 phone numbers is ridiculous! They already have a copy of the drivers license and a credit card. Equipment isn’t well maintained. Tire pressures are ALWAYS dangerously low. 1st trailer was filthy with debris and used rubber gloves plus lights didn’t work. Second trailer was ok.

The lady that helped me, seemed like she doesnt want to work, when I arrived it seemed like she was in the middle of something so I was bothering her. But im the one paying at least I want to spend my money with people who are likeable. But anyway took the van and carried one with my day. Beware! Fill up the tank yourself before returning the rental! They charge 3.75 per gallon for refill!

UNSAFE EQUIPMENT!!!!First they messed up my reservation so I had to drive the truck back instead of dropping it off.When I went to drive it back in the evening, I noticed the headlights were VERY dim. I thought maybe it was the bright street lamps making them seem dimmer than they were.Once I got onto the road I realized the lights were defective and almost got hit by oncoming traffic.I called roadside assistant, was put on hold for 20 mins... finally spoke with someone who said theyd send someone to pick up the truck in the AM. They apologized for not checking the equipment and the lady on the phone said they really need to do a better job of checking the safety of their equipment.The next morning I called because nobody showed up. After being passed around and put on hold, they said someone would come get it.Then I get a call from them threatening to charge me for towing if i didnt drive it back since it was daylight now! After they rented me an unsafe vehicle that didnt pass Maryland state regulations and put my life and the lives of other people on the road in danger - they have the audacity to threaten to change me more money.Extremely unsafe company. If theres ANY other place you can rent from- do it.

Made a reservation to get a tow hitched installed. I called the afternoon before and verified that all parts were in stock and that they would still be able to do the install. I arrived 20 minutes early for my 8:00am install and the said not only were they booked full for the day, but the mechanic did not come in until 11. Wilberto and his partner made no effort to accommodate me in any way. Blamed everything on the online reservation system which doesnt know the actual availability or schedule at a particular location. When I told them that is exactly why I called the night before to verify, the response was the call rolled over to the call center in Iowa and they dont know either.In the end, I told them I still needed a hitch and they made no effort to reschedule and safe a sale, just gave me a refund.

Went in to rent a truck the lady who worked with me (Lee) was not nice at all, it looked like she hated the job, anyways we rented the truck we were told to bring truck back with the gas level same as they were giving it to us which we did. if you dont they will charge you a $30.00 fee plus $5 for each gallon that is missing, which we knew since we had rented the same truck at a different location 3 weeks earlier. When we returned the truck we double checked to make sure everything was the same way the truck was given to us but guess what?? the next day when they sent me the receipt for my charges, they had charge me the $30.00 fee plus $40 for the 8 gallons that were missing!!! they didnt think i was going to come back but as soon as i saw the charges i made my way back to check the truck. The gas level was exactly where it was supposed to be, they were just trying to get more money! i got really mad because i wasted my time and gas, that of course they were not going to pay for, just to go check on the truck and get my money back. Do anything to avoid this U-Haul retailer. First time, returned a truck here that cost over $900 and they argued over the gas being less than a gallon short ...that’s right, less than $1 when you can’t even tell where the fuel meter is anyway. Had to literally pull out (of a horrible hilly location they’re located on) pull in to gas station right next door, pump in 1 gallon of gas then return. Ridiculous!! 2nd time, returned a trailer they made me unhook for myself with absolutely no help. Then when asked for receipt I’d dropped it off, received serious attitude and long wait just to get confirmation receipt. Both times, no thank you for your business, no thank you for doing all the work yourself, nothing! This is is a horrible business you must avoid at all costs. There’s plenty of other U-Haul options so avoid at all costs.

I have never used rental trucks for moving and storage, but you can bet once we move our stuff out of this storage. We will never use this location. There is Hispanic women with pink or purple glasses (didnt get her name) but she talked to us like we the stupid ones. On our storage unit it clearly states that uhal standard advantages that the storage hours are 5am-10pm. It doesnt have any date restrictions. So we went on Friday night at 9pm and we could not access our storage. We went back Saturday morning and tried to ask them why we couldnt get in. This women tried to tell us we can only access the storage during main office hours. We tried to tell her that is not what the contract tells us and that we signed. Unfortunately at that moment we didnt have the contract. We live right across the street from storage unit, so we went home and got the contract. So when we showed her contract and she tried to tell us that in order to access the storage we have to come when the office is open. However on their own contract it clearly states that standard hours are 5am-10pm. Then the 24 hours access is OPTIONAL. Further more the 24 hour access isnt actually 24 hours. With that uogupgr you only get the 5am-10pm. To be honest I was more upset with the women because she looked and talked to us like we are dumbone and couldnt read the contract. Just understand when you tell your customers 24 hour access, make sure IT IS ACTUALLY 24 HOURS.

ALWAYS check your receipts here! I have used them twice in a row and they overcharged me twice in a row. The first time for not having full gas tank that I luckily took a picture of because I overfiled it, and the second time for TWO DAYS when it was once. First time I already called corporate after the lady in there that told me I had to prepay for 50 miles when I knew Id be using 10 or less, and the other coworkers told me she does that sometimes and they are sorry. Corporate gave me a coupon for this time bc of all the trouble and now its happened again. Both times my bill was supposed to come out to about $30, first was was charged $62, and this time $57, for even less miles than the first. I will be calling corporate again but this is unbelievable. Is this how they make their money?

So i was told to either rebook somewhere else and have 2 holds charged and or wait until the location opens at 7am when i should be turning it back in and done . Definitely THE place to get a uhaul in the area. Nearly all others have proven extremely unreliable. Customer service is great too. Only thing is uhaul as a company has long been on the decline and I’m going to invest in a better company to eliminate their market share.One thing they do that is indicative of the lack g customer focus: if you put more gas in the truck, they will not reimburse you for any of it. Part of uhauls excellent customer service program.

Le Pham is the worst customer service rep you could ever deal with in this facility. I have been a faithful customer for almost 5 years and this morning we arrived to store my father in laws items. Hes an elderly disabled veteran that suffers from IPF due to contact with several things from Vietnam War. We were assigned a storage unit, after hours, last night that was far away from the elevator. My DH did not notice that so as soon as I received the paperwork I called first thing this morning when the facility opened up to request a unit closer to the elevator. The woman I spoke with on the line told me there was a unit closer to the elevator but we have to arrive in person to change it because we have to move our items out. I explained that we had not moved anything into the unit as yet and we hadnt even placed a lock on the unit as yet so they could easily just change the unit number in the system. They claimed they could not do so.... This sounds a bit absurd. Arent all the unoccupied units assigned just from the computer? Anyways, my husband and his father arrived at the facility to request the unit only 2 hours later only to be told that they just gave away the unit to the customer in front of them and that they could purchase a bigger unit for a bigger price! Ridiculous! Oh, to top it off, I reserved this storage unit last week! And furthermore, our reservation for the truck with the accessories also didnt go as planned. We arrived with a 24/7 reservation (mobile reservation) that did not work properly. Luckily we were there 15 min before closing so we were able to see Le who also told us that they did not have a dolly available for our move. Ummmm, why didnt they call us to tell us they didnt have one available for our reservation? They had plenty of time to go over previously scheduled reservations. Terrible customer service if you ask me.Ive also had a previous encounter with this woman who forced me to remove my sunglasses on one of the hottest, sunnier days earlier this summer when we were renting a ubox. There are no rules or regulations that state that I need to remove my glasses. My eyes are sensitive to bright lights and I wear special polarized lenses so that I can easily walk in and out of buildings without having to constantly remove them. She was so rude about it too. I am hoping that she definitely gets a good talking to by upper management sooner than later because I know she is hurting business. There used to be lovely woman that was managing the facility and I miss her! She was warm and friendly and very organized! She knew everyone and what they were ordering and kept everything in tact. I hope this Uhaul gets it together soon!

We made a reservation for 10 AM. We waited for an hour to be helped and the entire time we’ve been here there’s been a line to the door. There’s been no apology for inconveniencing dozens of customers. They initially told us that they didn’t have a trailer for us & another customer was told the trailer she rented wasn’t available either. All of us here are moving and on deadlines to get this done; I don’t understand why they would accept this number of reservations if they don’t have the manpower or supplies to deliver on what was paid for. Honestly some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.

On the online form I filled out and on the computer in the store, I selected the No - I will reimburse Uhaul directly option / refused CDW coverage every single time. At no point did I say yes to this coverage, but this Uhaul location setup some kind of scam where they put the CDW insurance on anyway, assuming I wouldnt notice. In this case, I didnt notice, so apparently this is now my fault that this Uhaul location purposely/accidentally ripped me off. Of course they refused to refund me because you should have reviewed it again before you left. Its a deceptive and dishonest business practice, and if they do this to every customer, $10 per customer will definitely add up. Ill be using Budget or Penske from now on.

I drove the truck for 13.8 miles, and added 3 gallons of gas right before I returned. That was more than what I used. Then I found out that I was still charged for GAS, with EZ Fuel Sales of $14.85. When I called the store after I saw the charge, they explained the original contract showed 15/16 tank, and when I returned it showed 13/16. When the person explained the paperwork to me before giving me the truck, he mentioned 7/8, and I saw the tank is about 7/8 (slightly less but close). After I drove away, I relized that the paperwork had the mark at 15/16. Thinking the reading is always subjective and my time for moving is a little tight, so I decided not to come back for it. For the 17 truck the gas mileage is close to 10mpg, I guessed that I used less than 2 gallons. But to be safe, I added three gallons at the gas station right next to UHAUL at return.Maybe it is my fault not to correct the original contract in the first place. Doesnt UHAUL has responsbility to check their readings? When they do err, is it a conincident that the readings are always against he customer, i.e. reading more at checkout and less at return ? Is it fair that customer should pay for UHAULs mistake (wrong readings in the document at checkout).Another complaint is the promised managers callback. it didnt happen.

For moving supplies, they have a complete and comprehensive stock. There are a variety of other uhaul retailers in the area, but if youre looking for boxes, bags, tape and that sort of thing, this is the one to go to.

Had an appointment to get a hitch receiver installed, so I took off of work so my Wife wouldnt have to sit there with our two kids under two, for the 3 hours they told her out would take. They called less than 24 hours before my appoinent to cancel. I ended up taking it to Uhaul Randolph, where they got it done in less time and for less money than this place told me it would be.

This location attempted to charge me for two rental days when I only used the truck one day. I turned the truck in the same day I received it. The company charged my credit card for an extra day of service two days afterwards. I called to office to clear up the confusion and was told that I made a mistake and the company would go through with the charges. The people I spoke with were quite rude. I had to dispute the claim through my credit card company.

Was charged wrong amount. When I called the manager told me that they had mixed the trucks up and I would be reimbursed. This never happened. Since I have called back, no one returns my calls. I have took it up with corporate.
