The movers worked efficiently.Especially on a rainy moving day.All wood furniture was wrapped in a heavy Saran Wrap material..The movers stayed within designated time frame that I wanted, allowing me to stay within my budget.I really appreciated the fact that for a fee they took stuff to the dump. This freed up my family to concentrate on the move and unpacking.Furniture was placed in rooms where I wanted it and beds were taken apart and then put back together in the new residence..Movers were professional and very polite..I would recommend them highly.

I’ve used Nation Capital twice while living in Maryland. I would probably use them again. The movers are very thorough in wrapping/protecting your belongings and work very quickly. They also send you a quote by email when you call to set up the move so you know all of the expenses, insurance options, etc beforehand. My only complaint is that with my most recent move, they lost a piece of glass for one of my tables and I couldn’t get a hold of them to figure out where it went.

Nation Capitol movers were incredible - long story short they rescued my move on very short notice after I had made the mistake of working with a moving brokerage company based in Florida (warning to the wise to never hire a moving broker, and especially never Both Coast Logistics) . They provided exceptional service for an interstate move and I’m very pleased with their service and affordable pricing. Can’t recommend them enough!

Overall I had a very good experience with this company. Justin was extremely responsive with scheduling my move but I had some trouble getting in contact with him to confirm details after move was scheduled. The movers were very efficient. I noticed some very minor issues with furniture once unloaded at my destination but I really think this was more a function of having some older pieces that just don’t handle moves as well at this point. I thought to movers to be careful. PLEASE MAKE NOTE they charge a credit card fee when you pay balance. MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE CASH if you are concerned about processing fees (I think it was 10%?). Compared to friends who moved around the same time as me, Nation Capital Moving was definitely a more economical move with good service.

The movers provided all the boxes we needed (and we needed a LOT). They came on time and worked almost 12 hours to get everything into the new house. Some heavy items were very difficult to get upstairs but they persisted and succeeded. We were very happy with the move.

I had my original movers bail out an hour before they were supposed to come. Needing same day service I reached out to them and had no issues. They were ready and willing to complete the job. Even carrying furniture on their backs! Lol. I had some very heavy items and they were able to get them down 4 flights of stairs with just two men. Very thankful that I found them. Justin who coordinated my move was very good. Detailed and accurate quote. Movers are good and hardworking people. My only request is that to have credit card payment or some easier payment option which sounds official directly to the company. I am not sure how the company and manager and payment system work. But when you are moving that is a time of transition and often we don’t have all the necessity such as wifi, new address check book(who writes check nowadays anyway??). If you cannot provide exact quote/bill due the the nature of business prior to the mover’s arrival you need to have easy options available.I stressed out to meet the mover’s request, urgency and form of payment for both pick up and drop off. When I was told to Venmo over $2000 to manager’s personal account… I was not sure if I am working with right company.

I HIGHLY recommend booking with them!I just used them for my move from DC to IL and honestly ended up going with them because even though they were initially more expensive than some other offers I received, they had stellar reviews and for an out-of-state move I wanted to make sure it was going with a good company.Justin was great in working with me to schedule things and get everything ready — I ended up having to change my date because of winter weather back in IL and it wasn’t an issue at all.The crew that came to pick up my stuff in DC was incredibly kind and fast — Miguel was the head guy for their team and was very cordial. They came, wrapped things up, and packed it into the truck in just about 2 hours.Due to COVID-19 and them being super busy, my stuff was delayed in being delivered to IL but because of that I was discounted $200 which I was more than happy to comply with.Because it was delayed, I was unable to accept the move and they were okay with having my mom be there to accept it and gave me a secure link to pay for it online which was awesome.The only thing I’d note was that I missed the part that I had to pay half of the move in-person when my stuff was picked up via cash/money order so I ended up paying with card and that was an added 5% to the total of the half. It was probably in the paperwork but I just missed it — so just something to note and keep in mind.Overall, I’d definitely recommend this company and would personally use them again. 👍

Nation Capital Movers were professional in serving my relocation from Washington, DC, to North Carolina. Last month I used NCM to move from NC to WV. Not only were the movers nice and timely(They arrived earlier) they were cheaper too. Most quotes I got were over 4000 but NCM was under 2000. No damages to any of my equipment due to the move either. They also arrived a day earlier than expected to deliver my furniture. I highly recommend them.

I have had 2 moving experiences with Nation Capital Movers thus far and both times were outstanding! This review is based on both experiences- one in state move and one out of state move. There are not enough words to express how great this company and all of their staff are. These men are QUICK but they are also extremely careful with each and every item. They have tons of packing materials (i.e., boxes, bubble wrap, wrapping paper, tape, etc.) which was super helpful so that I did not have to go to another store to purchase them myself; which was definitely important during the second move which took place during the pandemic! I was impressed by their professionalism and attention to detail. They were also so clean while working and did not leave any trace of dirt on the carpets or the floors as they provided protective plastic floor coverings. They disassembled all of the furniture and reassembled it upon arrival to the destination. They really are a full- service company and you do not need to lift a finger! Also, I will mention that take move took place directly after an ice storm and my mother’s vehicle ended up getting stuck in the yard and they even pulled her out with their truck! They truly go above and beyond for customer satisfaction and no detail is overlooked with these men. Let them take care of you and you will not have to worry about any of your precious items or your home. The Movers On Duty showed up on time/early and had additional personnel than the requested twenty movers. Due to the amount of movers needed (20) they offered me a discounted rate which was great. There was a rocky start with the financial disbursement which could have gone somewhat better on the part of the Manager, but there were emotions on both parts. Yet, as a company I hold more responsibility on them to remain in the most professional at all times. Yet, I do not rate that as a negative against their overall service, but as a note on how to be more improved for the next time. They worked to clear my home in an efficient and swift manner.I would definitely use their services again, especially since they were able to gather so many people with such short notice! I would highly recommend them if you are in the market of owning investment properties and have rental removal responsibilities.Good Job!

I used Nation Capital moving for my move from my 4th story apartment to my townhome. From the first phone call with Jonathan, I was impressed. Miguel and his team with were professional and handled my belongings with care. I was shocked they finished the job as fast as they did. Although my move did go over the original estimate (I wasn’t surprised as I ended up having them move and pack more than I anticipated), the price was more than fair for the job done, especially when you consider they did it all wearing masks and practicing social distancing! I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again!

Great service! We had to change our move date a couple of days before the scheduled date because our painters were behind schedule. No problem! The team (Miguel and Maya) arrived a bit early on the day, but we were ready and they went straight to work. No wasted time or effort. They expertly and quickly wrapped every piece to protect it. They were able to move a number of large pieces of furniture without hitting anything or making marks on any walls. They took a large desk and several bookcases and chests up a newly painted stairwell without touching the walls (wonderful since it had just been painted!). Everything went into place exactly where I wanted it. They finished exactly on time. Very professional. Im very happy and will be using them again.

Buyer beware of the old “bait and switch” trick with this company. I was attempting to move myself between states and got quotes from several companies, including Nation Capital Moving, on Home Advisor. I had been living away from home for two months working during the covid pandemic and sleeping on an air mattress in my new home as I had no time to orchestrate a move. To obtain a quote, I was asked to recite a list of items in my home and was quickly given a quote of $2300 for my move. I thought of a couple more items after the fact that I texted to the agent. It seemed odd that nobody came to my home or even asked to do a facetime assessment of the move (as the other companies had). In hindsight, I should have known better. I made the mistake of going with the lowest quoted price (you always get what you pay for in life). When the day of the move finally arrived, I drove the 4.5 hours back home to meet the movers. Unfortunately, I discovered that the company got the date wrong. They were initially great about the mixup and came the following day instead (though this was not ideal for me because I had to go back to work). A friend of mine locked up the house and the movers loaded the truck without me there and told me they would deliver my items the following day. Once the truck was fully loaded and gone, I was beyond shocked to receive a text message that the move was now costing me THREE times that of the original quote and that they didn’t pack all of my belongings because the truck wasn’t big enough. Surprise! I now also had to pay for a second move on some other date. The owner of the company got extremely ugly, yelled at me that I dishonest and a “liar” and that this was my fault. I payed three times the estimated price for a partial move and somehow I’m the dishonest one in this scenario. He refused to take my credit card (because he claimed I’m so dishonest...deflecting much?) and made me go to the bank to get cash to pay the grossly inflated bill while they held my furniture hostage (a true illustration of this particular dirt bags character). Way to put the squeeze on a single woman in a town where she doesn’t know a soul. They masterfully screwed over an easy target. They gave me a low-ball quote to get my business and then smacked me with a much more inflated bill for only a partial move. This is an exceptionally dishonest group. I could never recommend a company such as this to anyone. The movers themselves were super nice guys and hard workers. It’s unfortunate that they have to work for such an unprofessional and dishonest employer. Just beware. There are better companies out there. You have been warned.

We recently moved from Connecticut to North Carolina. This was my first experience with a moving company. I got several estimates and Nation Capital was competitively priced, professional and easy to deal with. They arrived on time to pick up my items from my storage bin and packed and wrapped items that needed it and had loaded quickly. They stored everything and were able to deliver the day after my closing and no extra cost above the estimate. Only one item with damage and it was something I packed. I should have left it for the pros. I would highly recommend them to others.

Moved from Washington DC to Boston and got an initial estimate of $2900 for a pack + move. I feel as though they underestimate initially to seem more competitive, but once the move has gone through the total cost jumped to $3600 when youre already committed. Feels dishonest and also felt as though they werent totally transparent with key details like how long the move would take once they get your stuff and what types of payment they accept (only cashiers checks, why isnt any of this information available on the website?) Once the move was finished we had follow up questions about the cost and received 0 replies to emails. Once they get their money theyre done with you it seems.

We made an east coast to west coast move and chose Nation Capital because of their many high reviews on Angies List. We chose to have the movers pack us. We had a great experience on packing day. The movers were here on time and did a great job on packing. We were told our stuff could take up to 28 days to get there, but the average time was two weeks. The reason why I am giving a three star review is because I was not happy with the communication level once our things were on the moving truck. We would get vague responses about where our things were and when the truck would arrive which was very stressful for us. Getting an ETA was like pulling teeth. Our things did arrive at 27 days as promised and only a few minor things were broken. The people who delivered our things didnt assemble our furniture, but they stuck to the quoted price which we appreciated.

Nation capital moving was able to accommodate met at very short notice of just a few days. They gave me a great price for a long distance move which I was very happy about. They did all the heavy lifting, packing and unpacking which was very convenient. I would recommend them to anyone looking for long distance movers.

I just moved from Cincinnat OH to Frederick Maryland with Nation Capital.Our account executive Nick andthe movers did an excellent job! All our items not in boxes were wrapped in moving blankets and taped up.Payment was easy and split into three portions; deposit, pick up, and delivery.It was worth every penny after doing it ourselves with a U Haul just two years ago. They packed our one bed one bath house in two hours and unloaded in about one hour!

We were very pleased with the 4 man crew that moved our furniture from Baltimore to Raleigh. They were extremely professional and courteous. Everything went according to schedule. We rated this 4 stars because it was only a 2 man crew that moved our furniture into our home in Raleigh. We felt this was very difficult for a 2 man job.
