There is one female who is rather tall, and slender, with long graying hair who is downright rude. She barely acknowledges you when you come to the register to pay and theres never as much as a thank you from her when you leave.That being said, all the other staff are always warm, friendly, professional and cant do enough for you. If having difficulty finding an item they dont just tell you where it is, they take time from what they are doing and show you where the item is. They are all wonderful, its those friendly staff members who keep me coming back to Dollar General. In regards to the store sometimes being a little untidy its usually when the staff are refilling the shelves from boxes on the floor, but any one of them are quick to apologize while trying to clear the boxes out of your way.

Decent little stop n shop. Had everything we needed and staff was very friendly. Cleaner than most DGs we have stopped in. Sadly the local store we stopped at 1st was not ok. Thankful to have this out here on the west end.

If you are hanging out in this area, its the place to go. Had all the supplies we forgot for our retreat. Also perfect for junk food for parties. Really nice employees that made us feel welcome even though we werent from the area. Good alternative to the local gas station/convenience stores. Would recommend.

One of the nicest stores Ive been to and they have everything you could possibly need instead of driving 30 minutes to Walmart!

The most awesome DG there is. The employees are awesome especially Danny, Ms G, Jack and that woman with those beautiful green eyes I belive her name is Liz. They are all so welcoming plus the store is organized and has everything you need from toilet paper to camping equipment to everything you need for the beach. Easy store to get necessities when staying on the west side of the island. Never not been able to find what we needed.

Staff was great, shelves were well stocked and was able to get what I went for.

Liz really helped my family and I in the store showing us items that we needed on our Awsome vacation. Thank you so much for employing Awsome people on our amazing vacation. Great employees are hard to find these days, Liz is an amazing employee of yours I wish she was an employee of mine for sure.

Ive only been in a dollar general a couple times. No different than walmart and i dont go in those. To each there own.

The store is large well stocked and clean. Its an ideal location if youd like to go to the beach for a day. They have everything you need for the beach including all the beverages and snacks you may like.

Employees at this location are excited that soon masks arent required. The cashier made sure to tell every customer that their staff is not concerned about coming. Wont be revisiting after next week.

Isles where being redone so alot of the same things on some isles. Great staff very friendly and helpfull.

Store has a little of everything. Great customer service. Easy too find. All and they will know where it is.

Build high off ground so no flooding also has handicap ramp. Very good

Good place to find inexpensive necessaries in the middle of nowhere on the Island. Outside of a run-in with the manager, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The run-in was a misunderstanding on the managers part, who thought I was with a guy who was hoarding the cleaning products, in which he berated both of us. Otherwise, good place to go. Went several times during our beach house stay

As they go, a B. We have an occasion to visit Dollar General stores while on vacation; this time along the gulf coast. Good organization and service. Might have visited during re-stock time. Difficult to get around stock in the isles. All-in-all, another good Dollar General.

I might have gave them 4 stars if not for one of the employee following me like I was trying to steal.

Good prices, app wouldnt work in store, no wifi so couldnt use coupons. Recommend using the app for digital coupons and screenshotting coupons you want to use. $5.00 off $15.00 purchase worth the effort.

This store is 2 blocks from my beach house. It always forget to bring stuff, so I always go here.

I love these people... Family trip from Frisco, Texas to Galveston and all the lights were out at Walmart. Found everything I needed and the Customer Service was A++++.

Great selection and convenient. Friendly staff. Ive always been able to find what I need. Its like a mini Walmart without the long lines.

Jamaica Beach ( towards that way) is just simply am amazing store!!! VERY NEAT EVERYTHING IS IN PLACE!!! THE young man who was working was so friendly and willing to help with a genuine smile showing he didnt mind at all. He as well greated everyone who walked through the doors and a Thank You ad you were leaving. Wonderful experience!!!!

This store is very large. It has a lot of neat items. I could spend at least 15min shopping in there.

I usually LOVE this DG, it typically has all your beach and daily essentials. Today, it was picked over... and trashy looking. No beach essentials just your standard neglected style DG stocked shelves. OH how the mighty have fallen. Probably hard to keep up with demand due to COVID... so Ill be back to reevaluate next year.

Friendly but man is the store set up oddly. I liked to have never found shampoo. They did indeed have what I needed and were friendly.

It had what I needed on a holiday weekend, so I am thrilled!

When it comes to Dollar Generals this one is average. The store is full of plenty of items to choose from but there was only one active cashier (this is common for Dollar General in my area too) so the line was long and it took a long time to check out. The cashier was friendly and when we come back to Jamaica Beach we will use this store for our needs.

Its pretty packed with a broad variety of necessities. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

It has been my experience that most customers tear up (picking up an item then deciding that they dont want it so they put it on any shelf that they happen to be close to at the time instead of taking the item back from where they took it)...and it probably takes half the night to re-place, restock, and clean the store for the next day.

What can I say. Its dollar general. They have the basic needs for a great price.They are very conveniently located when your staying on that side of the island. No need to run all the way back in town for basic items.

This particular location was sold out of all beach essentials we needed, and the store was very poorly managed. Every aisle I walked down was crowded with merchandise and just looked as if cleaning was not a requirement.

I like this one. Not all dollar generals are the same. This one is a good one. Friendly staff, organized and stocked shelves and a good selection of items.

I was skeptical when I saw this being built, but its a great addition to the West End. They have a little bit of everything. Its clean inside and the staff is always friendly. No meat, or fresh vegetables, but a good grocery selection.

Mixed nuts are a great value. Other stuff is decently priced.

This is great location with so many items. I was able to get everything I needed for the beach at a great price. They had 10 dollar umbrellas and boogie boards. Restrooms were clean just get key from cashier.

Glad to see Dollar General on the west end. It is a lot closer than Wal-Mart and just as cheap. Nice to have another option to the expensive convenient stores on the west end.

1 star for the sorriest customer service. My girl friend went in to buy baby formula and got bit serval times by mosquitoes. Which ain’t a big deal (we’re in Texas) but mentioning it to the older guy with tattoos on his arms on 9/25/21 at 9pm his response was “well next time put on repellent when you come in”… wow to a woman?? Your old self working at the dollar store and still have not grasped the very thing that would consider you a gentleman or someone who contributes to Society! And that’s respect! As always, great prices and when you go in the morning there usually is no line upon check out.

Dollar General gets a bad rap, but the employees at this store are knowledgeable and nice.
