I had very high hopes for another AR Build based off of the Quinton Defense ARQ15 Set. This business needs to reevaluate some of the help they have working for them. Ordering from their site on April 2nd, shipping went well, however when I received the set and proceeded to test fit the upper and lower prior to sending them off to be Cerakoted, I could not get a charging handle to drop into the cuts in the upper receiver. I had taken photographs and also the 5 different charging handles I had test fit (in the upper) for their review. After multiple phone calls and emails trying to get them to respond, I finally was asked to send the upper back (received April 19th). Not surprising, I received an accusatory email stating the upper was fine. GREG argued there was absolutely nothing wrong with the upper in that email. Knowing that he was blatantly exaggerating the PERFECT machining this upper had, I asked a fellow military friend stop in to test fit any charging handle at their actual location in Arizona. He stopped in and tried the handle in my ACTUAL upper and had to physically FORCE a Milspec handle to get it to drop into the guide cuts in order to fit. After this visit, MIRACOUSLY Greg offered to replace their supposable perfect upper. They asked me to also send my lower back so they could match a newly machined upper to my lower(which I agreed to) After receiving the Return label I discovered it was addressed incorrectly thus shipping my personal lower right back to my local FFL in my home town. I emailed them again and GREG in his normal argumentative self stated that I was looking and had opened the prior return label. After a screenshot of his actual mistake on he lower return address showed that he was mistaken (again after his dismissive arrogant replies)was sent back to him showing he was the one that sent the incorrect label. I received another CORRECTLY ADDRESSED label shortly after. The lower was received on May 28th at Quinton Defense. I received no response on emails and they would not pick up my phone calls in an attempt to get a status on return after a week. I had to have my FFL finally contact them to get a response. It appears that another individual other than Greg responded as this communication was actually semi professional(instead of the usual accusatory responses typical of Greg) stating that they machining equipment that produces the uppers was waiting on repairs and they hopefully would have an upper finished later that month. Most customers including myself will be very patient if the business just communicates with them. Greg had complained in a phone call he was working 100 hours a week yet couldnt find the time to respond to a simple email for information or pick up the phone when I attempted to get any answers during that month. I have saved all the emails that show your incompetency and poor customer service.If you read some of the responses from this company to other customers reviews you will understand the level of not only incompetence, but the extremely low level of commitment to helping resolve issues that shouldnt be there in a $500 machined upper/ lower set or other weapon parts. I finally reached a point and asked for a full refund (which they did) on the 6th of May, more than a month after my initial purchase. The quality of their workmanship is now highly questionable and they do not care about your issues once the money hits their account. Im looking forward to the company response to this considering the responses they have given in the past to other valued customers with similar issues when they honestly reviewed this company. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!

Purchased an ARQ 10 from this company. The upper and lower are completely out of specs. Rear takedown pin barely fits (sits shallow), cavity for the bolt catch spring is too deep (had to add a half bolt catch spring for the bolt catch to work), the barrel sits just slightly off of center, and the ambi bolt catch release is made of plastic. I paid over $500 for this and it’s not worth $200. On top of all that, the coating just sucks. I don’t have 500 rounds through it, yet there’s more chips in it then my M4 which has nearly 10K rounds through it. Out of all the .308 mags I have, only one type of magpul works. All in, sorry I ever purchased it.

Wanted to build a LR 308, decided to go local because of all the variations. Glad that I did, how much of the Google can you believe. Its not any fun returning parts that arent fitting. They gave excellent advice on barrels and such. Thanks for the help.

Do not buy anything from these scammers. They used to have quality equipment, but have gone down hill. I received a receiver set from them that was the worst quality that I have ever seen. I have receiver sets that were half the price that have better quality. The customer service was terrible, they told me everyone else is happy, without even offering to look at the part. Then when I told them it was unacceptable they hung up on me. I called back and they told me I was yelling, and that they felt bad for my wife, LOL. Great customer service. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else, they arent even offering 7075 aluminum receivers so you are getting a lesser grade billet in 6061 for the same price. I can honestly say that my QD purchase was the worst experience I have ever had in this business. If you are looking for a company that makes poor quality parts, that they dont stand behind, and really bad customer service than QD is your best bet.

I have purchased many products from QD and have used them for several FFL transfers as well. They have top quality products and their service is always excellent. (Just an FYI the FFL Transfer fee is $50 now VS $20!)

Great shop and staff. I had my second visit with a gentle and spoke about NFA items. The details on filing, and the ins and outs of proper process, and procedures. He also helped properly tighten barrel nut to line up with gas tube. During my first visit (month in a half ago), Hunter helped me understand the build of my first AR 300BO, and was very humble, patient, as well as super knowledgeable. He provided a laundry list for my build. I would definitely recommend this place for your firearm needs, and they do custom mill work for those looking to separate themselves from the rest.

QD did our BAD15 receiver variance 7years ago, nothing but the best and flawless quality. We are now in the business again and trying to con tact them to do a new variance.

Placed order May 19th for an in stock receiver set. After a few emails/calls trying to check the status and 3 weeks of waiting I was able to speak to a human. Nice enough guy, but I was informed my receiver was at anodize and would be about another week. It has been 66 days. I found the receiver set with another company and had it shipped same day. I have been trying to cancel my order and get a refund for almost 2 weeks now and can not get a phone call or email response.For what its worth, the receiver is really nice, but the lack of communication is disappointing.

Stopped in to Quentin Defense as we had heard they had some parts in stock we were looking for. Wanting to support a local business in our own town, it was a pleasant experience with great conversation. We spent more time than we had thought during our stay, looked at a bunch of impressive items they manufacturer, and hope to work with them in the near future. Picked up a Lower from the guys, for my first Ar15 build. I wanted something local and I loved the fact that Gilbert, Arizona is stamped on it. The guy was super helpful and informed me of other services that they offer like laser engraving. Overall it is solid and of some serious quality, the fabrication was perfect and my LPK fit perfectly. Will absolutely be purchasing all further components from them thanks guys!

Ended up finally receiving the receiver set which is fantastic and Im very happy about, just wish there was some form of customer service or anything at all which is why my review is now three stars instead of one.

Well looked at ARQ9 reciever set on line and it was simply a work of art. I waited until it came in stock and ordered it. I was emailed confirmation of my order . After countless emails and phone calls not being able to get access to anyone I had to cancel my order. Its to bad when a company makes such a beautiful product and promise to deliver they dont hold true. Hope in the future they figure it out. Guess Ill order a Rainer arms.

We placed an order for an US Navy lower on June 5th, My son has spoke with Hunter a few times and was told someone will contact us about when the order will be in. No one is contacting us and calls and emails are being ignored. This was supposed to be a present for my dads birthday.

I wanted to build a pseudo M16-A2 clone; to look close to what I carried in the Marine Corps. I decided to use one of Quentin Defenses USMC lowers. Picked up a lower and then placed an order for an upper directly from QD, it took 19 days for them to ship the upper. When I finally started to put it together I noticed that no triggers would work in the lower, the shelf was machined too shallow. I tried two mil-spec triggers, and even tried a drop-in (which wouldnt drop in low enough to installed the trigger pin). I called Quentin Defense and should have immediately scrapped the idea of this build, as it took at least 30 attempts to get through on the phone. I e-mailed [email protected] with zero response. I tried the contact us page on their website, zero response. When I finally made contact with someone on the phone they assured me that theyd get this fixed, just send in the lower. I shipped off the lower and never heard back. It took another 40 calls to finally get a human and be told that they had received the lower, it was machined out of spec, but theyve fixed it and would be shipping it either that day, or the next. I must have not learned my lesson as I decided I wanted another upper receiver to go with this lower. I asked the human if I order the upper right now while on the phone could he make sure they shipped out together, he said yes; they have plenty in stock and are just wrapping up my lower. Its been ten days now and I havent heard anything. Ive called at 30 times each day this week and have never got through to a human. I even called the business next door who said they do see people go in the building now and then, so they may still be in business. I have e-mailed a few times, still no response. I posted to their facebook page once asking if anyone knew if they were still in business and someone responded that night with a screenshot for tracking of my first order a month earlier saying you got your stuff. I should have screenshot that, as when I replied saying it had nothing to do with that order, it was my lower I was looking for info on they deleted their post and never replied back. If I knew ANY other manufacturer who had a USMC logo on their lower I would just write this up as a learning experience. Im sure if you are local this business could be okay, as in person Im sure they cant completely dodge you. Buyer beware!!! If you ever want communication, go anywhere but Quentin Defense.2020-06-04 UPDATE:I finally got the replacement lower receiver, but for some reason they didnt return any of the lower parts that I sent to them; so Im out a lower parts kits including pistol grip. This lower is also out of spec, the takedown & pivot pin holes are .274 whereas spec is .250 +- .001. At least a trigger will function in it.I have called countless times, to the point that I think theyve shut off the phones as it goes straight to voice-mail. I e-mailed with a full page message accounting the entire fiasco, and they have finally replied to one e-mail with If you would like to send everything back, we will process a refund. I would ship it all back except that I no longer trust them to do the right thing, ever. They still refuse to even call me. I am astounded at how horrible this gun shop is, its amazing they are still in business; I guess the bar is low in Gilbert, AZ.

Small shop, but the parts are quality and the owners are super nice people. Always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help out a customer. Would recommend for anyone looking to build or buy an AR.

Just FYI they are no longer doing FFL transfers, I had two items transferred over to them and they mailed them back to sender. Been using them for years but they are now under new ownership and new ownership doesnt want to deal with transfers.

These guys are legit. The owner took the time to walk me through all the aspects of my purchase even though it took multiple visits. He was very thorough in helping me select the right components for my build even if it meant I would spend less in his shop. Could not be happier or recommend them more.

Great products and good people. But not being open on Saturdays makes it REALLY hard for working folks to get there when they are open! Weekdays they are open the same hours a lot of people work. Please rethink the closed Saturdays thing. Maybe close Sunday and Monday?????

I have been into this shop at least a dozen times. They are all helpful, friendly and courteous. My wife, who is timid around gun people because she thinks she doesnt know much went to purchase a rifle and was treated with respect and she felt right at home. Definitely recommend this shop.

Now thats customer service. Called all over looking for a particular PMAG, no one has them. Quentin Defense requests emails rather than calls, so I emailed and asked if they had any of these magazines. Quickly received a reply that they ordered 5 and would be there next day. I came in next day and bought them. Fast, efficient, economical.

These guys were beyond amazing. I had an issue with my brand new AR as a friend and I were trying to modify the gun. (we did it wrong). I went to Quentin as they popped up in my Google search and appeared to have a specialty in ARs. I went to the store on defense as it seems every gunsmith you go to they tend to have a chip on their shoulder. Let me tell you, these guys were the further from that. Everyone was extremely nice, explained and talked through all my questions and got me all taken care of. Going forward, I will not go anywhere else. They sold me on their business end to end with how they took care of my problem. Quality privately owned shop where you have the opportunity to ask the man who makes your gun questions about it. You dont get that opportunity so the price of the weapon is 100% worth the value of the product.Ive stopped in a few times and have been greeted like a life long customer each and every time. I bought a Potus 45 lower a little over a month ago and their new ARQ set last week.Amazed at the ARQ set. Phenomenal fit / finish and the lines just flow together.Seems to be a family owned shop. Staff is polite and theyre notpushy like some places.ARQ9 set is next on my list ( maybe for my birthday )And . . . . the coolest part is they have 5 or 6 big machines in the back you can watchmaking some of the parts they sell.

Im not quite sure who is running this company, but I wish there was a way to talk directly the the head honcho. Im rather annoyed from not getting any correspondence, when I inquired about the status of product I had ordered. I had a custom engraved lower ordered back in October, I was told it would be completed in a few weeks and sent to my local FFL for pickup. I had asked Abby at QD if they could promise me that my lower would be in my hands by the end of the year. Fast forward almost three months of leaving messages, emails and finally someone deciding to answer my call they still dont know! When I had asked for a no nonsense date when my lower would ship they casually said by January 19th. From what was explained to me was that the lower was being manufactured, then the when it went to be engraved someone forgot to note that it was mechanical engraving and not laser etched. Resulting in the need for them to reformat the code so that the milling machine could machine the image. Well somehow this was done and then the work order was tossed aside and at the bottom of the pile. Only when I have become determined to be outright annoying about the status of this do I get any answers. To be honest had someone actually taken the time or the energy to return one email, phone call or just to tell me hey we messed up this is whats going on I think I would be okay. Aside from the fact they promised it would be here before 2015s bells rang in. But unfortunately this is not the case, this was suppose to be a gift that marked a significant part of my life but all it has been is a headache. Its just hard to want to continue to do business with a company that reneges on their word when youre out almost $400 bucks and have to go through the headache of getting your refund as well. Because we all know they want money before theyll make the lower. So if youve taken the time to read this do bear in mind that my review isnt based upon their product but their customer service. Personally I have used several of their lowers and uppers they are a good product. Just know if you ever have to deal personally with them you will likely feel like punching yourself in the face at least you know that wont be as much trouble as trying to sort things out with this company. Hey and if you have the money go for it, I just got tired of being out a lot of money with nothing to show for it. Just know there are better companies that can offer a competitive product with better results.* In response to Q/Ds comment yes product was ordered. Through a local company building AR-15s coincidentally the company was compensated for the trouble.
