Despite the fact that Axe Repair comes up first a Google search for Guitar repair in Gilbert they do not repair guitars. The person that answered the phone was polite and took the time to give me the number of someone that does repair guitars. He gets 5 stars for being polite and helpful.

Randy was great. Setup my bass clarinet for me after it went out of adjustment. Plays great now.

Place is difficult to find. Address shows front of house but need to go to West side of house to see business entrance.Wonderful experience. Owner is super nice and a pleasure to rent from. We rented a clarinet.

Randy is immensely talented at what he does. It’s clear he is passionate about instruments, music, and repair. He is the most honest technician I know, explaining the trade off between restoring an old instrument vs buying a new one. If he feels the restoration wouldn’t be worth it, he will be upfront and honest about it. His rates are incredibly reasonable, so much so that I almost felt bad paying him so little for his expertise and time. Randy has been repairing and building instruments for decades, while keeping his knowledge up to date with the newest technology used to build instruments. Unfortunately I only needed a one time service and probably won’t ever need to use him again, but he treated me kindly and with respect, knowing that my business was limited. The least I can do is recommend him to everyone I know (and don’t know) because his services are just THAT good.

Axe Repair and Randy McBride were recommended to me by two music education professionals. He has done excellent work several times on my professional grade Oboe, which I admit that can be quite tricky. His rates are reasonable especially considering the quality of service. I heartily endorse Axe Repair and hope he is available for the rest of my musical career.
