We were hauling horses over I70 to trail ride in the national forest when we had a trailer brake lock up, blow a tire and catch fire coming down vail pass. We were able to get to Eagle and unload the horses then limped the trailer to Mat Dogs. Glenn met us at 7:30 sharp and had it apart and a list of options for us by 9. We couldnt find parts anywhere close, but he spent his entire morning trying and finally arranged for a pair of axels to be custom cut and all new brakes and bearing kits put together in Grand Junction. By the time we picked them up and got back to Glenwood Springs they were closed but Temple stayed late to let us in and drop off the parts. Then Glenn and the crew came in early the next morning and had the entire thing re-assembled and ready to roll by 8:30. In the meantime, Mark (the owner) had heard of our predicament and offered us his personal truck and stock trailer to go get our horses from Eagle and arranged overnight board for them. When it was all said and done they saved our trip, gave us the best customer service I have ever seen, and absolutely went above and beyond the call in every way imaginable. As an employee of a service based small business, I observed employees who loved what they did and who they did it for/with, and the overall attitude in the shop was one that any small business should be proud to have attained. We will forever be indebted to the folks at Mat Dogs.

I had a Pop Up camper that I paid to store in an HOA storage lot. They stopped billing us for it and unbeknownst to me had it booted, towed and impounded at Mat Dog - even though it had a permit. Up to that point my issue is with the HOA.I was VERY displeased to learn when I called in to find out where the camper was (who checks a storage lot every day?) that Mat Dog had kept it for 8 DAYS before contacting me to let me know they had it - and that contact only happened because I went looking for it. Temple (the owner?) basically told me that they could wait 10 days legally before they had to call. But why would anyone wait that long?? Oh right - because they charge $30 each day - and why not make $300 extra dollars by avoiding resolving an obvious issue. They could not meet me when I tried to show up that day during business hours - but said they wouldnt charge more than the [unnecessary] 8 days, only to have the driver that met me the following morning reply with we charged you for 12 days. And that was on top of towing and booting charges. Almost $600!!!If I owned a towing company - and wanted to do as their website claims: to serve the people of Carbondale and the surrounding area as best we can... We pride ourselves on the reputation that we have built over the years for excellent customer service I would probably start by calling an unsuspecting person on DAY 1 to let them know I had their property, and not just let the bill rack up for the sole purpose of financial gain at their expense. And Ive owned a successful company in the valley for over 17 years - and have seen unethical companies come and go during that time.At no point was Temple interested in making this right. No hey - my bad for not calling you... Ill just charge you for the tow and 2 days. That leaves me with no other conclusion than this company is run unethically, and as such - I recommend avoiding them at all costs.

No calls back after I requested toeing and mechanic work. I heard shady things about them from others too.
