I took my 2014 Subaru to Advanced to have it looked at before taking a long trip. Greg was very nice initially and he seemed to know what he was talking about. He suggested quite a bit of work, and I had him do it. The morning of the trip I noticed fluid dripping from the engine. I called Greg asking him to take a look at my car that morning. He got upset - kept repeating that everyone makes mistakes - and he wouldnt look at the car!? Weird interaction. I had to take my car to a different mechanic who found the mistake and fixed it easily. Based on the other reviews and my experience, if youre looking for a professional who stands behind their work, Advanced is not a great choice.PS...in response to Gregs post...in an effort to be brief I did omit that Greg offered to have me drop the car off for six hours. He knew that I was in the car at that moment and heading out of town on my vacation, so I found his offer to be tone-deaf, and I did decline the offer. I also omitted that the conversation ended that morning when I suggested he stand behind his work and he, in response, hung up on me. Again, just a weird interaction given that I expect professionalism in such dealings.
They keep my 17 year old car running like a thoroughbred. Best group of mechanics ever.
Greg always takes good care of my car!!
If I could give less than a one star I would. I called on 01/29 and spoke to Greg who invites me out to look at my vehicle, I blatantly ask him if he would charge me to look at my vehicle. He said no. I drop my car off Sunday evening and leave the key in the drop box. He calls me Monday morning and said he doesnt remember me saying I am coming in. Then when I tell him about the last estimate I got he just assumes I am trying to get a price quote from him to take back to the other company. Then he turns around and said he needed to charge me a diagnostic fee, I asked him why he did not tell me this when I called Friday. He did not have a good answer, he was so rude and unprofessional, all he could say was come pick up your vehicle and hung up. This is the most unprofessional company you never want to deal with. I should have read the other bad ratings. Horrible company!
Great service. Super fast
They were very responsive and took the time to explain what needed to be done to my car. I called several places before them and right when I explained to them what was going on they showed a lot of knowledge and clearly knew and understood what they were talking about. They worked around my schedule and were very good at listening to my concerns and answering my questions.
The team in advanced automotive was exceptional! They got us in on very short notice, did an excellent evaluation of the vehicle we were looking to purchase, and got it done in a very timely manner! Mechanic Ed to fit time to show us what he found. The owner spent 10 minutes with us further explaining. Im happy very to have found them. I only wish I lived closer so that I could use them all the time. Highly recommended!
Always very nice and professional. Fair prices and high quality work. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a trustworthy mechanic.
The guys at Advance Automotive were Super! Special shout out for the owner Greg. He went over and beyond to assist me with my repairs. Great price. Great service. The shop is quite clean. It was a bonus when picked up my car that no greasy fingerprints were found on my paint. #1 Repair shop in Golden and surrounding areas.
Greg (owner) and the team at Advanced Automotive are consummate professionals. They are very detail oriented and work hard to ensure customers have safe reliable cars to drive. Thanks to them my 2005 F150 is still on the road and running great.Last week I came back to the bus parking lot at the end of the day to find my passenger window had dropped into the door frame on a cold snowy day. I called the next day, got an appointment for the following day and my truck was ready just after lunch. Top notch service in my book.
Had my power steering belt break on a road trip from NYC to San Diego. Spoke to two gentlemen about what was wrong with my car. Because I already knew. They tried giving me a run around that they need to see what’s wrong and have to buy their own parts and are really busy. While trying to speak I was cut off multiple times and not listened too. Professionalism isn’t there. I wouldn’t do business with them. The guy talking about he’s been in business for 42 years. You’d think he’d have his customer service down. To meIt just says he’s had 42 years experience on swindling people. If you’re reading this, when you have a huge financial problem coming your way in the next 30 days. I want you to think of me!!!
Very knowledgeable mechanics. Was able to get seen same day but had to leave the truck. Customer service was on point never dealt with better service writer and he was knowledgeable as well.
I have been a customer at Advanced Automotive for almost 5 years. It’s the best car repair and maintenance service I have ever experienced. They excel at education and prevention, alerting you to upcoming issues so there are no surprises. Whether it’s a tire repair or a big service everyone treats you as a valued customer each time you come in the door. Five years, four vehicles and no regrets. I drive 30 miles to do business here and it’s always worth it.
Very customer friendly auto repair shop. I felt very reassured with the people and owner of the shop for my first visit.I will be back again. Give them a try.
What a professional team! Word of mouth from several people led me to do business with Advanced Automotive. This immaculate shop run by knowledgeable professionals is now my go to place.
Had an amazing experience from start to finish! Their customer service is amazing! They were able to diagnose our break issue in a reasonable amount of time and took the time to actually educate me on what it needed instead of just throwing a quote out. Highly recommend them!
Ive been around a lot of shops and I have to say this shop beats them all. Greg is a absolute master mechanic and is very helpful. Quality work is all he produces, if you want your car taken care of the RIGHT WAY, take it to Advanced Automotives. This isnt no Grease monkey or Jiffy lube
Greg keeps me in a safe and cared for car for my business. He never makes recommendations that arent necessary and tells you when things are really important. I trust him to keep my car going, and me safe! I highly recommend him and his shop for most things automotive.
Advanced Automotive is the best shop Ive ever worked with! Greg and his team are masters at keeping all of my old Honda vehicles running at optimal performance and they always recommend doing only the work that is needed. They have the most advanced diagnostic and repair tools, keep an immaculate shop, hire only outstanding and highly trained mechanics, solve problems in the best and most cost-effective way, communicate clearly and often, are empathetic and understanding when I have an occasional meltdown about the extent of repairs needed, and are incredibly responsive.I wouldnt trust my cars with anyone else!
1 star for absolutely abysmal customer service and (seemingly) lazy car inspection (detailed below). So I brought in a car with a dying engine. Low oil seemed to be the culprit except that:a) My last oil change was only two months and 2400 miles ago.b) Dipstick seemed to read very low, but then adding two qts sent it well over the full line for a 4.2qt engine. So it couldnt have been THAT low.c) I never any observed oil pooling or excessive exhaust smoke.Anyway, when I took it in Greg immediately jumped to it being a low-oil problem caused by negligence, and refused to consider the above evidence. He brushed off inquires into the oil system failure, or a possible oil change error. And given that when bringing me over to the car I had to point out that he was misreading the dipstick, I did not get the feeling that my car received an expert and thorough inspection.Furthermore, as I was pointing out the odd evidence he literally said (paraphrased) Ill look at your car, but Im not going to teach you about oil systems. Combined with an unsolicited bet that no other auto mechanic could/would answer your oil questions, this was easily the RUDEST customer service I have ever experienced.Would give zero stars if possible.
Greg is always straight up and transparent. Been coming for 10 years.
My family and I always have the most incredible experience at Advanced Automotive! Their service, and the owner I believe his name is Greg and team do a fantastic job. I would recommend Advanced Automotive to anyone looking for world-class customer experience and a phenomenal job!
Wonderful service, both for my car and customer service. I will be going here from now on!
Greg is the best mechanic out there! You have a problem? He can fix it! He has always taken wonderful care of my cars. I trust him implicitly. He always does what is best for the customer. His integrity is top notch. His staff is friendly and helpful! I would never go anywhere else!!
I am so pleased with my service! I had given up on fixing the hail damage on my car because all the shops were asking an outrageous amount or saying it couldn’t be done. Greg went out of his way to find me the perfect hood. He was so kind and helpful throughout the entire process. You can tell the team actually cares about you and wants to help you (without charging an arm and a leg). Their service is also extremely high quality and speedy.Thank you Advanced auto!
Originally brought my car in for a front brakes replacement. After they took a look at my car the drive shaft needed to be rebuilt and luckily they caught it right before the thing was ready to tear off. Now my car runs like new and I can continue driving through the mountains for snowboarding with no worries. These guys do a great job!
Continued excellent experience with Greg and team. Great communication around needed repairs with options! Highly recommend!
Really happy that I found this shop, its always nice to know you have a mechanic you can trust. Gregg is extremely knowledgeable and does excellent work. They only use original manufacturer parts so repairs can seem costly but since it is ALWAYS done right it is well worth it.
Greg is awesome very professional work
I took my vehicle in for a diagnosis, which Greg said was completely free. My vehicle was making a loud clanking noise near the left front tire. They called me and said I needed to get the wheel bearings replaced on both the front tires, and that it would cost $1,024. I told them that I was getting cheaper quotes nearby, so I needed to arrange to pickup my vehicle. Greg then told me that he would charge a $70 diagnostic fee cause I was taking it elsewhere for the repair. He also explained that his parts in the quote were way better than any of the others I was getting quotes for and that my tire was about to fall off the vehicle at any moment. **totally using fear to try to get my business** We picked up the vehicle, and at that point, he said there was no diagnostic fee. So he was just using that tactic over the phone to get me to change my mind. We drove my vehicle to the other repair shop, where they fully inspected both front wheel bearings. This other repair shop said there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my front right wheel bearing, so I got my left side replaced and all problems fixed for only $316. Do NOT use Advanced Automotive unless you just enjoy being completely lied to and throwing your money away.
A few weeks ago I had some trouble with my fuel pump, leaving my car unable to be started. Advanced Automotive was the closest mechanic around, which is why I chose to go there. I was quoted over $1,000 for the fuel pump, fuel pump filter and fuel pump relay (this includes $120 for a diagnostic, which is not subtracted from the cost of a repair). Greg told me to be sure I got quotes for factory parts as its important in this region and fuel pumps. I got two other quotes, both included a diagnostic (which WAS subtracted from the cost of the repair, should I choose to have it done). I opted to pay the $120 for just the diagnostic and towed it to another shop for repair. I ended up paying $695 for all 3 parts with labor for the repair (still saving money, even with a tow to Aurora). When I explained to Greg that my quotes were significantly less expensive, he cut me off multiple times. He said there is no way I could have gotten quotes for factory parts for less (all three of the quotes I got were for factory parts, and all three mechanics did explain the importance of a factory part with this sepcific repair). I eventually just realized his communication skills are poor and pushy, and that its better to just let it go. My father, being a business man himself, called Greg to ask if he wanted to make this right with me before I posted negative reviews. Greg was pushy and interrupted my father also, telling him that I had lied. Overall, the experience was poor and I would not recommend going through this company, especially if youre a woman!
Very friendly and knowledgeable. Will absolutely use them again if something comes up.
Greg is simply incredible to work with and Mike was a great as well! Great experience and highly recommend!
DO NOT GO HERE!!!Greg took advantage of me and my situation as my RV started miss firing on my road trip. He knew I had no choice but to get it fixed. Not only did he sell me parts and services I didn’t need he over charged me by $300! The nerve of this guy is unbelievable! If you think he’s being weirdly and overly nice it’s because he is! I had to stop payment and despute the payment through my credit card and he still refused to make things right. He is not a honest mechanic! He will take advantage of you every chance he gets!Greg’s response to my review is a LIE!! If you don’t believe me look at the other negative reviews they are all the same. He’s a Con artist!I’m still having to dispute the payment. He is fighting me even though I have proof that he overcharged me $318.00 and sold me services I didn’t need.Today 8-12-18 I spoke to the Credit Card customer service that’s been helping me with my dispute with Greg. I was informed that even though I have proof that Greg over charged me by $318.00 they are unable to do anything about it it’s out of their scope of practice. It would be a legal issue. They said they reached out to Greg and confronted him on the over charge and Greg refused to make things right. They suggested I contact the BBB.Update 4-22-19I contacted the BBB and they were very unhelpful. Basically they said if the owner responds to the complaint there’s nothing they can do. So basically BBB means nothing. Greg lied to BBB and nothing was done. He never made things right and continues to lie. He is a con artist!! Don’t go here!!
Advanced Automotive is by far the best shop I have ever used! I am a 43 year old local native business owner, motocross racer, and father. Greg, and his guys offer an honest, personable, friendly, professional, timily, cost effective, excellent service to our community, and do it with style! I will never use another shop as long as they are around.Sincerely,Johnny 777
Over the years I have taken my 98 Jeep Wrangler here for the jobs I am unable to do in my own garage. The last issue was electrical and it took a couple of trips into Advanced Automotive. This is not to say that Advanced didnt fix it the first time but to say it was one of those situations where fixing one issue led to finding and resolving the next. Advanced accommodated my vehicle securely indoors after my unfortunate tows. Everything that Advanced did was above reasonable expectations. I most definitely recommend and will use again as necessity arises.
I had a confusing electrical issue with my vehicle and these dudes went above and beyond to put me back on the road. Quick, professional and nice.
Did an awesome job, nice guys, seemed truthful
Long story short... previous shop couldnt fix (4 tries) my Duramax. I had my truck towed to Advanced Auto. Difficult electrical issue finally fixed, along with great communication, knowledge, and as a result great customer satisfaction. I would recommend Greg, Sheena, and Advanced Auto to anyone! Thanks for all your help!
Good and trustworthy auto shop. Is fair and keeps your vehicle safe.
Advanced Automotive stepped up with first class customer service! An expensive part they had replaced failed after a few weeks. The supplier warranted the part, but AA covered the labor. We all know labor can be the biggest cost in a repair job. They also spent extra time running diagnostics to assure there wasn’t an underlying problem that could have caused the failure.Thank you Andvanced Automotive.
Extremely friendly service! Very clean building and very professional.
Ive been going to Advanced Auto for 15+ years. They have serviced our Volvos, our old Durango and our Ford truck. All items that need repair are always fully explained and I trust Greg explicitly. Just like your Dr. wont diagnose you over the phone, the same is true with a good mechanic. They consistently strive to provide the best overall service and unfortunately that isnt always the case in this industry.
Add customer service told me to wait an hour to come get my car instead of putting a call on hold for 30 seconds in wont help me get my car out of the lot. When they had tried to over charge me for something
Amazing friendly service every single time!
Greg and his team have been servicing all of my company vehicles for years. He always does a great job taking care of us!
Greg is one of the biggest scammers in the business. Quoted $3,100 for front suspension arms, brakes, & a new water pump. Offered 100 off. Greg uses all the traditional fear tactics to get work. Greg has changed his reply several times because hes a crook. I measured my rotor thickness & they were thin but still within the minimum thickness. GREG LIES, BIG SURPRISE. THIS IS NOT A TRUST-ABLE OR HONEST MECHANIC.
Great personable service, took care of everything I needed!
Under no circumstance should you bring your vehicle to this shop. Last month, after noticing my car was not running well, I brought my car to this mechanic. After a complete vehicle inspection that I paid for, I was told that the oil filter was damaged and that the car was low on oil. On the phone, the mechanic told me there was no damage to the engine and that I would need a new oil pump and that since the car had close to 80,000 miles on it, I also inquired about changing the spark plugs. The car also needed a new oxygen sensor. $820 later I picked up my car. I noticed at that time it did not sound right and asked the technician about it. I was told it was no concern, that oil needed to circulate and that a bottle of Slick 50 or other lubricant would eliminate the noise. About 15 minutes after that, while driving home, I hear a loud bang, followed by loss of power. By the time I pulled over, the entire engine block was on fire resulting in a complete loss of my vehicle. I registered a complaint with the BBB and asked the mechanic to refund my $820 as a sign of good will. He refused and proceeded to question my character and integrity and said the engine was already damaged when I brought it in. Even if that was the case, how would a mechanic allow me to leave his shop with a damaged engine AFTER a complete vehicle inspection that I paid for was completed. Nowhere was I informed of this and nowhere was it noted! What kind of mechanic would do $820 of cosmetic work and let me leave with an engine that was destined to fail. As well, I could have been seriously injured in the fire. Needless to say, legal counsel has been retained. Use this mechanic at your own risk.
Greg and his team went above and beyond to get the job done and kept us in the loop with everything going on. Wonderful shop to work with!
0 stars. Very bad service. Either lied to me or didnt know their stuff, unnecessary recommendations, pressured into making big purchases right away and seem danger was imminent. Either they dont know what theyre are talking about or lied to me and tried to pressure/scare me into making business with them. They told me I needed to replace (back and front ) brakes pads/rotors ASAP and lied to me about brake pad thickness (saying it was 2mm) They didnt show me anything on the car physically when they checked it/when they gave me an overview, and they gave me a big price for all the things they said needed to be fixed ASAP or else it was a big safety concern (over $320 more than compared to the other place I went to) Went over to Euro-Tech auto and they showed me my brake thickness (which was 5mm) and showed me everything taken apart and what the current condition of the brakes/rotors was and when they should be changed (not imminent danger), front rotors were going to have to be changed soon, but back rotors and pads werent as bad and they could wait another few months bc paying $1320 is a lot of money at one time. Being a young female doesnt help when dealing with car issues, and I feel like I was taken advantage of that here, all along being assured that the car mechanic (Greg) does seminars on auto issues all the time and giving an impression that he knew everything and seeming to be very polite and nice. Wouldnt even say which parts needed to be fixed first or things that could wait a bit when I told him that was a lot more than I expected and Id have to come back later. Their waiting area was really cool though.
I think Greg may have saved my life. Other mechanics failed to catch a problem that could have frozen up my wheels going 70 miles per hour. Im making him my only mechanic. Great with Subarus.
Greg and his staff provide excellent customer service. On top of that, they are trustworthy and reliable. Theres a reason Advanced Automotive has been in business so long, integrity. Being the owner of a Swedish car, and often -as I feel- being viewed as a young, naive car owner who can easily be taken advantage of, its intimidating when that CHECK ENGINE light pops up. I find solace in finally finding someone who doesnt cause me the despair and anxiety of being exploited. He fixes what needs to be fixed at a fair price. Greg will eloquently explain what needs to be done and why, while providing the best financial options. He was referred to me by several people and I would refer him and his shop to anyone looking for a reliable mechanic.
Don’t let Greg screw you over, get your car to an honest, professional shop. Sid’s on S. Golden Road is my recommendation. Read on for my full story. On my way out of town for a Thanksgiving, all packed up for the long drive to Texas my car wouldn’t start (06 Accord). I hoped it was the battery but it wouldn’t take a jump so I called AAA the next day, they came out and assured me it was not the battery. They had a list of “AAA approved” auto shops in the area and being new to the area, I picked one with good ratings on Google & Yelp. My car was towed over to Advanced Automotive on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Friday morning the owner, Greg calls me and says that they’re closed until Monday but “he’s figured out the issue and it will be $700 to fix & he’d have it done in 3.5 hrs”. I asked him what was wrong with it but he refused to tell me, saying if he told me I’d get it fixed cheaper someplace else. Monday morning I went into Advanced Automotive and was greeted by Greg, the owner. He was friendly, in a fast talking, used car salesman type of way. He told me he didn’t actually know what was wrong with my car (he knew on Friday?) but it was surely something serious, likely electrical and that he’d do the diagnostic for $75, “half what he normally charged”. I was scared at that point & needed my car for work so I left the car there to be diagnosed-I had to know what was wrong now that he’d made things seem so bad. A couple hours Greg called to say it needed a new starter (I was relieved) and the cost would be just shy of $700, plus the $75 diagnostic. I’ve driven Honda’s all my life and I knew that was beyond ridiculous. As I was leaving with he tow truck driver with my car Greg said to me “you won’t find a place who will do it for less”.I called around to some local shops, got some estimates, none over $550. I ended up taking it to Sid’s on S. Golden Road after asking the tow truck driver & some neighbors for a good shop. I was able to get everything done for just under $250, including the part. $325 including Advanced Automotive’s diagnostic fee. The customer service I received from Laurie & Rich at Sid’s was like night & day with Greg’s approach.I called Advanced Automotive to let them know about the money I saved on the repair & Greg spent 15 min explaining why his shop was so much more expensive, none of it made any sense.
Just spoke with Mike over the phone and he was extremely rude and demeaning. All I asked was a rough estimation of what it could cost to replace my rear brakes and he said he needs VIN number, year and model number, and when I said I could provide that he then switched his story saying he needed the vehicle there in person, and that it would cost 89.99 just to look at it. He said hed only roll the price back into the cost of repair, if I did the work there. When I said I just need to know if the cost would be between $400-500 he said oh okay youre just price shopping I think our conversation is over. I hung up the phone. Not sure what kind of place has customer service like this. A shame cuz I love Greg, hes done amazing work in the past but this was an absolutely ridiculous interaction.
I wish I could write a review and not have to choose even 1 star for this awful automotive shop. Honestly the worse service I have ever experienced and I work in the service industry. I actually can’t even say worse service because they wouldn’t even help my boyfriend and I out at all even though we had an appointment and drove a long distance to get to this particular shop. The shop owner was there, but wouldn’t come talk to me. David Pasciuto, the front desk man, was very inconsiderate and said our appointment is canceled due to what we needed done on our car isn’t “real work”. He wouldn’t make eye contact, did nothing to make the situation right, and obviously only caters to customers they make the most money off of. Do yourself a favor and never ever go to Advanced Automotive! I hope no one has to feel the way that David made my boyfriend and I feel today. Poor guy must need a hug.
Greg is super friendly! Great service!
I have been to MANY auto shops in the Denver area and Advanced Automotive in Golden is hands-down the fairest, cleanest, and friendliest shop Ive been to. They have my future business!
Always the best service. Been our go to mechanic for 20 years.
Very nice and helpful staff, lots of experience, reasonable rates, solid work, and a cool waiting area came together and helped make taking my car in for some service an enjoyable experience instead of a painful one.
Advanced Automotive has always gone above and beyond in their service! I have been going to them for service for over 10 years.
Greg is a con artist. Hell use fear against you to rack up an unbelievably unfair bill, while claiming hes trying to keep you safe. I took my vehicle in to another shop for a second opinion & Greg straight up lied to me. Avoid this con man.
Honest work
Clean shop and Greg the owner is friendly and professional. Give these guy a try if you are looking for an honest certified mechanic.
Good
I bought a Groupon for five oil changes for $80 for this place over a year ago. This isnt a convenient place to go but I liked the pics of the waiting room. Mistake number one. I wrote Mr. Augustine before I purchased the Groupon (love Groupon) asking how long I could take to have these five oil changes done. I noticed there was an expiration date which was only a couple of months or so later. I only drive a few miles each day and couldnt have five oil changes done that quickly. He wrote me back that I had as long as I needed to use them. Even now I can go back and see that two other people had written him asking the same question and he gave them the same answer.Well. He has fought me tooth and nail about it ever since. Its always the same; the Groupon has expired. I nearly had to beg for the second two (paid for) oil changes. Yesterday he offered me $20 off an oil change!???? When I attempted to tell him that these oil changes have already been paid for and that John Elway is charging ten bucks for oil changes, he replied by hanging up on me. Im just glad that I called this time before driving all the way up there. I had a hunch he was going to be up to the same old line of baloney. These oil changes were paid for. I dont get it. He has done three oil changes for $80 is how it has ended up.Groupon has refunded me $32 for the two oil changes that were not honored. I only wish the refund had come from Mr. Augustine, instead of from Groupon. This was not a good Groupon as Groupons go. Looking back, I dont see much savings in a $16 oil change. This morning, Mr. Augustine called my cell phone and told me that I am the kind of customer that he wants to weed from his client list. He said that at our age, if this was the most important thing (blah blah blah). I told him that there was never an age when I enjoyed being lied to and/or taken advantage of. Then I hung up on him, just as he did to me yesterday. I wouldnt trust him to put air in my tires.
Call to get a quote they will not without seeing vehicle??? what kind of scam artists run this place???? Its 2015 cant use alldata or some kind of labor time guide???, apparently not, these con-artists charged unknowing people 1148.86 to replace the timing belt, coolant and drive belts!!!! highway robbery the dealer for the same repair 659.00.... stay faraway from this shop nothing but lying thieves!!!!!
Fast, courteous, excellent work!
Nice
