Staff is unfriendly (the store was empty, and did not acknowledge my presence), the store is dirty and they have a pile of junk by the front register thats been there forever, they DO NOT require customers to wear a mask and staff DO NOT wear masks either (around your chin or leaving your nose open does not count). WAKE UP! There is a pandemic going on. Better off going to Home Depot where the employees and customers are required to wear masks.

Worst staff of all time. Accused me of being sketchy just because of my appearance. They followed me around the store until I didn’t feel safe. Don’t go to this store. Menards has better service and better prices.

No employees wearing masks, and none of them cared to don a mask when asked. Ive been there a few times since the Wisconsin mask mandate, and none of the employees have worn masks while I was there. When I asked a few of them, I got responses like The owner says we dont need to wear masks and I dont think I have to wear one and then one guy just laughed and said Yes, I probably should while youre here, but no. At least the cashier was behind some partial plexiglass, but she also refused to wear a mask.So they dont care about reducing risks, they dont care about customers health or well-being. I guess its back to ordering everything from Amazon for me.

Nice, family owned hardware. They have just about everything you might need. Great staff; theyre always willing to go the extra mile and help you find the right thing or order it. They have tool and landscaping machinery for rent as well.

Employees are always super helpful and they will almost always have what you need. Common parts for appliances, odd electronics parts, any hardware you can imagine, and tons of tools including the wierd ones you will only need like once a decade. They also do tool and equipment rentals.

Love this place. Amazing employees who know nearly everything about nearly everything.Prices are good, often less than the warehouse stores, plus they stock items that you simply not find anymore. If they dont have exactly what I need they will help me find a substitute solution.My go-to place.

Full disclosure: I worked here until recently. That being said, this is an excellent store. They have a massive inventory with lots of high quality hardware and household items. They really do focus on customer service. The staff members here are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, willing to go the extra mile to ensure you get exactly what you need. If they do not have it, you probably do not need it, but they will do all they can to try and get it for you. Well worth a visit. Forget the big box stores, you will have a better experience here.

Aweful service, judge customers based on appearance

I dont know the operational model of this store, or how ownership effects it - compared to other Ace stores... but its quite a mess.Theyre stuck in an era of no computers. Theyre not digital at all... everything is on paper and clearly discombobulated. Heres just one example:A simple phone call to inquire about a power washer. I was told that of the total two (2) that they have to offer, only one (1) was available. I asked do I need to give you my name, to reserve this? The nice young man on the other end of line assured me that I do not. Approximately 15 minutes later, I enter the store and pick up a few things and make my way over to the rental area. Im so sorry, as soon as I hung up with you someone else rented the power washer.Slightly confused, I said Ok, thats fine. When will one of them become available next? I was told Tomorrow at 9 AM, and Ill put it down right here (this is when a 2 inch stack of papers called a calendar, that has the dates manually written into it, is pulled out). I let the nice boy know that my name is Eric and here is my number, please call me as soon as its available.No problem.The next day: 9 AM, no call. 10 AM, no call. 11 AM. I call.Oh are you Eric?Yes, is the power washer available?They were supposed to call you if it is, let me check for youThank you10 minutes later a new voice comes on the lineOh man, Im so sorry. Itll be back here at noonWhat do you mean noon? I was told that of the two (2) that you guys rent, one (1) of them was going to be free at 9 AM?No we only have one (1)At this point, my entire weekend plan of power washing the paint off my deck so I could start building my pergola and then begin staining it were canceled. As I work full time (like many of you) and I have a 10 month old son... I do not get 3 day weekends very often.Thanks Ace, thanks for not joining the rest of us in 2016 and buying computers. Or at least some free software that can help schedule your rentals...After talking to some of my neighbors ( I live in the area ), I have come to learn that Ace is significantly over priced on everything. Paired with the inability to be an organized business, I will not be shopping there ever again. Ive already spent over 1000$ on materials, yard supply, garden supply, etc... elsewhere.The people and friendliness there 10/10The variety of goods 7/10The cost of said goods 4/10The fact that theyre horribly unorganized 1/10If youre going to waste my time over a 3 day weekend, tell me in advance.

The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because of the mess. They always have what I need and the staff is great, but jeez, this is the worst store that I have ever seen as far as clutter and mess. I would like to tell the owner just have your entire staff clean and organize for 1 weekend and the mess would be fixed!!

The knowledgeable staff, customer service, and small town feel is one of the reasons I support ACE as often as possible. As others have commented, the store is crowded and the main aisle could maybe be less cluttered BUT they usually have what I need and know exactly where everything is located. If they dont have something, they are very willing to order it and then call when it arrives. Please support this local business employed by your neighbors.

Ive been shopping here many years and normally enjoy it, but today got a dose of poor service that will make me more likely to go to Home Depot in the future. I wanted to return an unused Bosch reciprocating saw because the scroll collar feature does not do what I expected it to do (only the collar turns, not the blade), so I just used my Craftsman scrolling jigsaw to cut the holes I needed. Of Course I had to open the box to actually see what I had bought, because there was no display model. The lady at the register gave me a hard time and scolded me for not doing my research before I purchased, and would not give me a refund because the little tape disc sealing the box was cut. She kept handling other customers and making me wait until she offered me a store credit instead of a refund. I took the credit but was so mad I went to Home Depot to buy the other items I needed.

I use Ozaukee Ace Hardward almost every weekend for some project or another. The staff is knowledgeable but more importantly if they dont know at least they try to help.Recently we purchased a Weber Gas Grill, and the sale and service could not have been more pleasant.Local businessed like Ozaukee Ace are important to the community and I try to frequent them as much as possible.

Helped Saved My Basement!Strong storms came through the evening of Tuesday, Sept 28, 2018, and the power went out in Oostburg. I ended up on a mad scramble to find a generator to run my sump pump and Ozaukee Ace Hardware came through like champs, staying open past their normal closing time to allow me time to drive down to their store and buy a generator. This was in stark contrast to my experience with Harbor Freight Sheboygan that same night who actually had generators in stock but when I spoke to them on the phone were unwilling to stay open 5 minutes longer to sell me a $700 generator. Both the clerk I initially spoke to and the manager at Harbor Freight said, Sorry, we just closed and we cant stay open for you even though I explained my basement was about to flood, was literally 5 minutes away, and would pay that instant over the phone with a credit card. It was after this experience that I called Ozaukee Ace Hardware as they were the only place still open. Thank goodness for the extremely nice people who were there that night! They truly lived up to what their brand is known for--quality products at a fair price with very helpful and friendly service people.

If they dont have it do you really need it?

Decent hardware store, but is congested and overstocked with low quality merchandise clogging the aisles. Some actual hardware is missing or under stocked.

Good hardware store with mostly helpful people at it. Sometimes i feel like I am bothering them when I ask for help, but the staff is generally knowledgeable. Sales on softener salts are always appreciated and now they are offering quantity discounts as well. I would give 4 or 5 stars if returning something there wasnt so difficult. If I make a return at Menards, its as quick as a couple of laser scans. Menards even makes it super easy to get something that needs replacing under their warranty terms. This Ace store uses a very antiquated paper system and it seems like I face a Spanish inquiry in the process. IMO, to DIY you have to have a flexible return policy because sometimes it takes a trip or two to the hardware store as you experience trial and error
