Meyer Music is a great store run by great people. They’re very knowledgeable and kind, and they can easily talk to and explain things to anyone at any experience level. I highly recommend them for anything music related.

I’ve been getting instruments and repair service from Meyer Music for literally my entire life. There has been other competitors in the GR area for some time (I.e. Marshall Music). While it was nice to have a music supplier location closer to my house, you just could never beat the service of Meyer. Their staff offers pleasant, beyond satisfying customer service. Their repair techs are far superior to anyone I’ve dealt with. Their rates are very competitive, seems like about $22 per hour?Meyer always has a large selection of music books, sheet music, instrument supplies, and other music related gifts. Most importantly, they always carry a large variety of instruments to rent and purchase. They often carry different grades of each instrument, from student, intermediate, and pro grade. They recently started carrying intermediate and pro level Bari Sax’s which they now rent!Their rates are very competitive. Obviously it depends on the total price of the horn, but their monthly rates are doable. For example, I rented a student grade French horn with a sticker price of around $1500. The monthly payment is $50 per month. Meyer offers a great financial incentive. If you pay off your balance early, they give a 30% discount off your remaining balance. Plus they often have other manufacturer sales you can stack on top of that!All in all, I highly recommend this location.

I was just turned away because I couldnt wear a mask. The clerk actually ran to the door to keep me from entering. Told her I couldnt wear a mask and she ushered me out saying she would do curbside. Ive been coming to this store for 30 years. This is the first place Ive gone to that refused to let me enter. Im so mad. I thought this was a free country. Youve just lost me as a customer. I have gone to Meyer Music from fifth through twelfth grade for all repair and music needs, and recently started going again after joining the local community band. I brought my clarinet in for repairs a month ago for some issues I was having, and then again today for the same issues that seemed to be reoccurring, but it turned out the second time I just needed some embouchure help and a different reed and mouthpiece pad. The instructor, Vanessa, was so helpful in figuring out just what I needed, and everything sounds great again! Thank you to the helpful Meyer Music team!

Do NOT take anything to be repaired here! They lied to me about a bow that I brought in to be fixed. Was told that they could not repair or replace the little screw in the frog that tightens and loosens the bow hair. I knew when I took it in that it could be replaced, I just thought it would be easier for them to do it. (FYI: the little screws and frog assembly parts are readily available on Amazon for purchase.) Instead they tried to sell me a new bow and keep my old bow. I was amazed that they flat out lied to my face. When I left, I decided the owner should be made aware of what was happening in the store. The owner doesnt talk to customers I was told. I guess hes in on the fraud too. I had bought the bow and a violin from there, purchased a band instrument there, taken lessons, etc. They have permanently lost this customer and I will be telling everyone I know about how crooked they are. Unscrupulous business!! Beware, the staff is friendly, but that just means they smile when they lie to your face!

The staff is great!!! Very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a large variety of instruments, accessories, music, and gifts. They even have quiet rooms where you can try out the instruments so the store maintains a level of professionalism and quietness. If youve been to other music stores in Grand Rapids then you will understand how this is NOT the norm and at other places you someone have to almost yell back and forth with the salesman. You will NOT find that here.

I have always had wonderful customer experience at this location. We have rented a cello for several years and at one point my son decided he was not comfortable with the cello we had. He was able to try playing numerous other cellos to find a better fit and we were able to trade which cello we were renting. We also now rent a trombone and I was able to set up the monthly billing with my preferred automatic payment date. Questions have always been answered to my satisfaction.

The staff here is very friendly. They also are a great source of knowledge.I came in looking for a gift for a friend they were able to assist me with all of my questions.The facility itself is very clean and they have a variety of instruments set up to test.I would highly recommend this place.

I was really impressed by the extremely fast and friendly service I received when I purchased my flute. The rep made it super easy to get what I need and get out. We love Meyer Music! We rent my daughters instrument for the high school band here and can buy supplies for it too. She started off as a clarinet, then switched to trumpet, and now is on bass clarinet. Every time no questions asked just an easy switch. Save money here and very very friendly and helpful staff. They also sell music books here which is helpful. Free instrument repairs and replacement. Couldnt have asked for better.

We have rented from them for more than 10 years, repaired multiple instruments, purchased new instruments and more instructional materials than I care to mention. I cannot think of even a single time we were dissatisfied with their service, professionalism or love of supporting our familys love of music. Truly a gem!

Chuck Wylie, one of the instrument technicians they have working here, was an impressive employee: friendly, capable, seemed extremely knowledgeable about all the different musical instruments they do repair jobs for. He answered my questions and gave good advice, so Id say Meyer Music would definitely be a place Id recommend for fixing up used instruments or even buying new ones.

Great place for a school instrument. You basically own the instrument at the end of the year and can put that towards a better one when ready. Staff is friendly and the instructor keeps challenging my kid.

Meyey music had always been helpful with my saxophone and mouthpiece choices....I bought a new Yamaha tenor sax from them after trying a few.it was nice to use the big room for the decision...today the woodwind tech To fixed my wifes clarinet on the spot for a very reasonable price....he also took his time to check my tenor...we will definitely be back to see him for future needs....thanks to all at Meyer Music :-)

They did a great job working on my Bass - reasonably priced and finished before the predicted time.

Quite possibly the worst customer service Ive ever had. I signed up for guitar lessons for my nephew and I as an Xmas present. They called me 2 days before the lesson was to start and informed me the teacher didnt work on Mon. By that time all other time slots that we could attend were full. I told the manager on the phone that I would come and get my refund. When I came in to get it the manager lied to my face and said they had already sent it in the mail ( without giving me a courtesy call, since we agreed I would come to the store). I finally received my refund a week and a half later post marked 2 days before I received it. Wasted my time and effort trying to give them money and they repeatedly spit in my face. NEVER AGAIN!
