I have gotten so many great items from this store. I was surprised when i seen the previous review because the manager with the longer hair has been nothing but fantastic to me. I love this place!!! The guy with the long hair is always very helpful and so knowledgeable. He helped me find the correct wire I needed and helped me figure out the best system to buy. People like him make my experiences go so smooth. I enjoy all the games I have purchased there so far. The Dvd selection is awesome. I will continue to shop there.

Its not a bad place. Selection doesnt seem to change much. Kentwood store is cheaper by 3 to 10 dollars on same stuff.. Staff seems a little to busy with each other to deal with customers! Movies are usually hard to find as the seem strolled across shelves instead of somewhat organized.

A good place to buy or sell games. Everything is fairly priced, and they have a very large selection to choose from. All in all, its a good place to stop in if youre looking for something to do.

I have came in on many be Friday Nights after work. It is a great time to bring my Son in and irritate for the weekend, like the Blockbuster days of old. Ive shopped at these stores before, Kentwood, Jackson, Lansing, etc. The only difference is you come in the people here are always playing 3DS and PS Vita games and being rude. I actually had a long haired gentlemen tell my son that his hand selection was hmmm not great. I wasnt going to post anything until I found out that he was the assistant store manager ? Or so they told me over the phone. Now Im sorry but youre there to lead and work, not too harass customers about their choices (Ive seen it done to more than just my boy)JUST BECAUSE youre trying to beat a level. Overall very disappointed in the store.

Amazing store with a bunch of really awesome and vintage things! I actually found a copy of Star Ocean 3 in perfect condition. There are some really amazing gems here and the staff is nothing but helpful and friendly. Stop on in to see them!!

Was a little upset with this location today it is clearly marked on your doors that customers must wear masks in your store. Yet tonight my husband and I go in to this location and there are about 4 or 5 customers in the store not wearing masks. I understand people may have health conditions but not all 4 to 5 people in the same group have a health condition. I think your employees need to do better to keep your customers and employees safe.

My FAVORITE place to attain wiring, consoles, and other console and more relared products at a great price. Their selection of dvds and game disc/chips is extensive. If you want a game they likely have it used and at a fair to good price. Their service is like frosting on the cake, being that it is fantastic. Generally a good place for gamers! 😄

Gonna try to keep this brief but simply put, this place is my paradise! So many consoles spanning so many generations, so many rarities you wont find at gamestop and the only other places would be overpriced on Ebay. Hell my original DS model I got from here was $40 and the same model went for 100 on ebay, as the hulk put it I see this as an absolute win! Overall this place is amazing, a retro and modern gamers dream place. While the modern titles are more expensive than some of the retro stuff, and just slightly cheaper than buying it new, I mean its to be expected but Id be lying if I said that I was ripped off because their pricing is fair and even. Lastly the atmosphere of this place is just amazing. Everytime I step in Im filled with childlike wonder! The employees are really friendly and fun to engage in conversation with, and hey they dont cram a membership down your throat and you get fair and honest trade in value! So in conclusion, support this place and stop in. What have you got to lose? Worse case you walk out with nothing and dont return. Best case? You become a regular like me! And in a world where gamestop keeps ruling the gaming store industry places like this need support, the Holland location just closed and this is the closest one! My friend recommend this place to me and I have been going for a while now I just recently bought a PS3 SLIM 320GB for $116.59 I remembered the guy helping me with it he seemed to be really professional and he was even helpful in answering all of my questions that I had and if they had a warranty on the gaming system. I have yet to return this weekend and bring in my PS2 SLIM to sell to them because they said it could be the AV port on my TV and they were correct the only thing I don’t have are the actual controllers because they broke due to age but the gaming system it’s self works really well I really enjoyed it while it lasted but I decided to upgrade systems . If you are looking for a really good place to buy games and gaming systems don’t look anywhere else go to disc traders they have a bunch of games to chose from and they also have a bunch of movies to chose from for a very fair price! Stop over paying for used games and go to disc traders believe me you won’t regret it! They are very knowledgeable people when it comes to gaming systems! Disc traders is the best gaming store I have been to and I will continue to keep going to them for buying video games!

I brought in a TV to get 50 dollars off it and they gave me 30$ for a TV that’s almost brand new 200$ TV for 30$ My Xbox controller almost gave me more money than the TV

A great place to trade in games and consoles. You get a fair price. This is also a great place to purchase movies you love and havent been able to find anywhere else. You should visit. You might find some hidden gems.

I got PS4 games for next to nothing. My grandson is into the WWE and they have so many DVDs of wrestling. I paid 3.99 for one of the DVDs. If your a gamer or a movie watcher it is a must place to go. Staff was very helpful.

Forgot to include a disk in our season we bought. Live over an hour away. Called and the employee says oh maybe it’s a bonus disk... no we are missing episodes his solution he wants us to come in to get a refund... we live over an hour away. So make sure to check your boxes...

Disc Traders Grandville is not a very professional operation. In fact, none of them are. There are several factors that contribute greatly to this:(1) The smell. Its unbearable. Please fix this problem. Its the #1 worst thing about this place. Period.(2.) The sanitation of games and movies. I understand that these stores move a LOT of inventory, but some of these game and movie boxes are sticky, gross and unpresentable. I did not feel confident (especially with COVID) that sanitation was a priority here.(3.) Staff at the Grandville location are a mixed bunch. The woman who helped my wife and myself today was wonderful. Some of the guys not so much.(4.) Discs are not always cleaned properly. Part of the joy of old games is dealing with the question can I even play this in the shape its in? Some discs we purchased were sticky and dirty. Others were pristine. Its not consistent. I know that there are machines to clean these things so it cant be totally impossible to keep them in decent shape. At least one game was not playable. Hoping for an exchange or some kind of fair resolution there.All in all, I enjoy these stores a lot for what they offer, but they need to work on cleanliness and customer service. Staff should be invested in helping people and the landlord or owner needs to get a grip on the smell thing.

I brought two conan marty mcfly funko pop dolls in last night I clearly asked the kid how much they were worth he turns his computer comes back and says I will give you 80 for both I cant see that good and told him that I thought it was a good deal come to find out there selling on ebay for over 200 a piece way to rip someone off !!!! You just lost quite a few customers I will never step foot in your store again ! Neither will my family or friends. At least GameStop is honest with people and lets them no how much stuff is worth ! Shady people at disc traders!!!!!!

They always have Funkos that I want to add to my collection. They also have a huge variety of used movies, television series and video games. I never leave empty handed and Im always happy with the service.

Good selection of games and friendly enough staff, but the turnover rate seems horrendous. There used to be a few staff members always there that I had gotten to know, but I stop in once a week at least and recently it seems like new people everytime.The staff doesnt effect the selection, but it affects the amount of time I spend there and recently I find myself in and out in a minute or two.

This place makes me feel like Im 10 again and I usually just wanna buy everything I see, the people that work there are pretty cool, this is my favorite disc traders, I live about 1 minute from the one in kentwood and I still come to this one.

The staff are very lazy and they literally tell u they cant check your consoles becuase they are so called busy when in reality they are not doing anything. Also they try to low ball for games. I would recommand the one on Kentwood. They are mor professional and hard workers!

Prices are the only good thing. Staff ignores you and smells terribly strong in there

My favorite Disc Traders to date. Some of these stores can tend to be crowded, not with people, but with product and nonsense. This store has a great set-up and fantastic product selection. Workers there are knowledgeable and friendly and seem to be very accommodating. As always, great prices. Highly recommend.

You can find great deals here. The only reason I docked it one star is because the store always smells like somebody fumigated it with Axe body spray.

I would love to give this location more stars. The staff is helpful and friendly and the prices and selection are great. My wife and I used to frequent this location at least once a week.HOWEVER, we cant go there anymore. A while back something was added to the store that we just cant get over. As soon as you walk in you are instantly nasally assaulted with the most overpowering smell of some kind of something (flower?). I have asked the staff about this and I was informed that the landlord installed it and it cant be adjusted. This is the only store affected within the plaza, so I dont understand.I feel the only way for anyone to notice the concern is with a flood of reviews. Its not an inherently bad odor, but it is so strong that you can barely breathe through it. Due to other issues, I simply cant breathe through it. That should never be a barrier for patronizing this type of location.If this is in fact the fault of the landlord, shame on them. Im sure there are many folks just like me who arent willing to fight through the assault in order to shop in peace.To the associates who have always been helpful and great, Im sorry for the review. It should not be taken as a reflection on any of you in any way. But I cant shop at the store if I cant breathe.

Great selection of games and used electronics. Their movie choices are as rosbust as any place and the value is incredible on everything. If you frequent there enough and check in with a phone number or two youll get a 20% off coupon for every ten visits (resets every couple of hours if you want to go a couple times in a day to earn them faster) and it works off of anything you buy including consoles and electronics.Its seriously one of my favorite places in GR.

It would be a lot better if you could stay in the store more than 10 minutes and look around. The smell is so strong you cant really take your time and look around. You pretty much have to take a deep breath before you go in, and hold your breath while youre in the store. It chokes you out. Need to tone it down on the air freshener. A little bit too much, very overpowering. If it wasnt for that,it would be a really good place to go... Game systems, movies, and video games do not need to smell fresh. They just need to work, and be sold at a good price, being that they are used.

Best service Ive ever had

I would not recommend this disk traders location. Half of the staff were playing guitar hero in a store packed with impatient people. I brought in a console to sell and only one employee was literally even willing to help me. Whoever is in charge there actually visibly proved their inability to direct staff by telling them Hey guys, I dont want to make you mad by telling you to work, but if you could help a customer.. After everything was said and done they still shorted my $20 on the console I sold. NEVER AGAIN

Love this store! They have great deals on movies, which is typically my standard purchase. Ive only had a few problems at the store. I bought a movie and the movie wasnt in there. However, the staff there quickly took care of the situation. Someone who was in the store previously had shoplifted, thus leaving my case empty. A tip for the movie section though, never buy a movie until you checked ALL the shelves because sometimes a one dollar movie will be also in the 3.33 section. Other than that, I love the store there. They have a good staff that know what theyre talking about. They are very friendly and answer all your question.

This would be a 5 star rating but the moment you walk in the door you are assaulted by overly perfumed air. It’s way beyond simply bothersome, I get an instant headache, I feel bad for employees or anyone with asthma, I can only be in store for a few minutes and have to go out for air. If the store has issues there’s better ways of dealing with it than this. Love the store, employees are great and tons of movies. PLEASE address this issue!

I got a ps4 from them, and I had to take it back because it wasnt working. They replaced it with a different one I then brought that home and hooked it up and it wont even work. Also got a Nintendo and had to take that back because the power cord wasnt working they replaced it. I would suggest coughing the extra cash up to buy a new ps4 that way you wont have problems

I really love this store and the people are really nice and cool. I do think they need to chill out with the air freshener. Its a little too powerful. I think just one air freshener would be perfect. Kinda gives me a head ache. But all in all great store :)

Ive sold several items here. Mostly retro games and consoles. Pleasant experience every time. Sometimes the wait can be long, but I dont mind. Great place overall.

The air freshener blasts you when you come in the door. Its like being in an old persons house who cant smell anymore so they turn up the dial to 111. I have games that I bought where the cases smell like the air freshener a month later. The games have all worked, the service was pretty good, and Ive found some items that I couldnt find anywhere else, so the store itself is pretty good, but the smell of the air freshener stays in your nose until the next day. Ouch.

Fantastic day at disc traders! They had tons of ancient titles I had been looking for for years! All the games I purchased are in fine condition and work perfectly. Definitely coming back again.

I think this place is great, Ive bought maybe 15 old PS2 games there. Two of them have not worked but they were like $2 each so its no big loss and you can return them if you want. Have also bought a used 3DS here and sold some of my old gaming stuff. It seems like they buy stuff for pretty fair prices from what I could tell from a small amount of research. Its pretty slick to be able to buy a gaming system and a bunch of great games for barely fifty bucks.

Friendly employees, always a great time searching for new movies to buy. Great deals on used systems. Fair buying prices.

I love disc traders! Its a simple game auction. I sold a PS1, a PS3, and a variety of games and got $57. Thats so much better than game stop.

They may have good stuff... But I couldnt find it if I wanted too. I am management at another video game store out of town and you guys should seriously consider restructuring your store. You have too much general stock. It is difficult to wade through 15 copies of each sports game to find something I would like to purchase. I would think about only keeping 2 of each game out so you can actually shop. Alpha is muddy at best- stacking games on top of each other makes it hard to keep up with. Unfortunately the other location has all of the same issues. Your prices are reasonable but until I can shop it with ease I dont know if Ill be back.

Staff is not friendly especially to regulars like me been there multiple times even when store is empty there is a wait, 28th street disk traders is always nice, and no iam not complaining about how much I get for trade in etc, like some on here do, if people must know disk traders in general gives you more than gamestop will, I shop at both 3 days a week...

I stopped in this past weekend. The selection was alright. As i was walking around the store I noticed a particular odor. As I continued shopping I noticed the music playing in their store. It was god awful. It was Terrible. It was a bunch of terrible Taylor Swift and Pop artists. Wont be stopping in again in the near future.
