This candy shop is absolutely the best and a wonderful addition to downtown Greensboro.

Wonderful place to feel like a kid! From the moment you enter a rich aroma of chocolate engulfs you! They have fun flavors for kids up to a sophisticated selection for the Chocolate Connoisseur in you that is homemade on the premises. They have lots of craft sodas, including fun ones that are delicious to spite names like Dog Drool and Unicorn Yack. The owner is super nice guy who kept the integrity of the brick wall from over 100 years ago. Highly recommend!!

Best candy shop in Greensboro! The prices are amazing and the candy is great. The owner is super cool and knows a ton about chocolate. If you are in downtown this place is a must. Get a tiramisu truffle and a salted caramel there and you will see what I mean.

Sad to say, the owner is closing up shop. This was a classic throwback to the old days. The store was wonderfully fashioned to look like the old stores of the 50s. They had a great selection of hard candies and chocolates. I hope they come back to Greensboro.

A must if your coming into the Greensboro area or if your a local.The owner is very knowledgeable and has an incredible selection of local and classic favorites they also has a wild selection of small batch sodas. From the second you walk in it is like stepping back in time. I would recommend this to anyone and me and my family will be going back

Place is great. Local guy runs it. Lots of glass bottles soda/pop. Delicious chocolates to take home for your partner. Grab some Ice Cream or your favorite Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. Abbazabba taffy, salt water taffy, just about anything your sweet tooth can desire. Check em out amd support a local business.

I love this store! Not only can the kids get a foot long gummy snake, but I can get gourmet truffles (which I hide in the fridge). This is a special occasion store, but also one to just enjoy regularly.

Candy stores often go one of two routes. Some aim for nostalgia, offering wooden barrels full of cheap mass-produced candies with names that grandparents will readily recognize. Others sell artisanal, homemade concoctions that are as pricey as they are mouth-watering. Gate City Candy Company splits the difference. Its an unpretentious space, and you can find classic candies and quirky sodas here, but the chocolates lean more craft than kitsch. Theres a healthy assortment of fudges, truffles, and miscellaneous chocolatey items (pretzels, barks, creams, etc.). The truffles run $2.50 apiece and are decidedly worth it. While bananas foster is a personal favorite, you cant go wrong with any of the peanut butter or alcohol flavors. If youre overwhelmed by the choices, Dan, the owner, can offer recommendations and is generally helpful. All told, Gate City Candy Company is a must for anyone with a sweet tooth.

I love salt water taffy, and this place does not disappoint!! Great selection of candy, fudge, and craft soda too, all of which is reasonably priced. The owner is also the coolest guy in Greensboro. I never leave without having had a great conversation with him, so if you have any questions about the stuff in the store, be sure to ask! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for edible gifts or just to expand your own candy encyclopedia :)

This place is so wonderful! I had been wanting to try it for quite some time, and it did not disappoint. There were so many interesting things to look at, from craft soda flavors to vintage candy displays. There were many old candies that I was able to get that I can’t find anywhere else. I especially loved all of the chocolate options! There were many flavors of fudge, truffles, and other chocolate treats. The owner was so pleasant and knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time answering all of my questions and helping me pick out just which treats to take home, as I couldn’t justify buying all of them like I wanted! It was really fun making a box of truffles to try throughout the night! I will definitely be going back!

We were fortunate enough to be some of the first customers to Gate City Candy Company. Our whole family quickly fell in love with the wide selection of familiar candies as well as unique flavors we havent seen before. My personal favorite was the Raspberry Truffle. It was rich in flavor and well balanced so it wasnt overpowering. A co-worker of mine instantly fell in love with the Jack Daniels truffle. They carry a wide variety of truffles, fudge, hard and soft candies as well as over 40 flavors of sodas. I will be going back for the KISS Army Root Beer. Honestly, I will be going back often. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Also, if the dont have what youre looking for talk to the staff. They may be able to order for you or point you in the right direction to find it.I HIGHLY recommend to anyone that loves candies, fudge, and chocolate.

Im basically a regular there since I work at the escape room around the corner and I love the candy store so much the crazy drinks are my favorite and now that he has ice cream it just tops it off

This shop is very cute, I was glad to see Glitters replaced by something that utilizes the space so well! The shop owner is very friendly but relaxed and the stock is great for anyone that really loves sweets, especially at their great prices. I wish they had more vegan options, which is why Im only rating them at 4 stars! Greensboro is sorely lacking in accommodations for vegans, and I know for a fact they would do really fantastically if they had some vegan fudge and homemade goodies for those of us that dont consume animal products. Still, the shop is adorable and I hope to see them stay for a while and prosper!

The chocolate is amazing. If you like spice try the pink cap hot ginger ale.

I wasn’t able to find what I needed here because another customer had just bought all of the malted milk balls. But the owner took the time to help me find them at another store, via messenger, on a day his store wasn’t even open. That is true customer service and I am looking forward to patronizing this business in the future.

They have bluebell ice cream now!This small business has it all when it comes to your candy needs. You want jelly beans? He has a bunch. Exotic craft sodas in glass bottles? He has them in spades. You want chocolate? There enough to feed a small army. This is on top of lots of odd and end candy creations and a chill atmosphere. Its run by a really nice dude who has training in how to make all the chocolate items he sells. Which gives him a refined taste for the better stuff.

Dan, the owner, is awesome. If you enjoy a sweet tooth fix, this is the place to get it. Great truffles and fudge. Plus a lot of the good old standby treats.

Great little candy and gourmet chocolate store located in the downtown historic district. The store has fudge, chocolates, craft sodas and lots of bulk candy. Something for everyone.

Its not a candy store, its an experience. Its a chance to experience the nostalgia of your childhood and new treats at the same time. Im here weekly for their gummy bears, fudge, truffles. Its one of those shops you have to go to when you are downtown.
