Wow, if I were a regular coffee goer, and wanted a place to hang out, this place is where I would go. The specialties are amazing, we tried the Marilyn Monroe and Brad Pitt. I liked the Monroe over Pitt personally but it’s very unique, tasty coffee. The atmosphere is down to Earth. I feel like it gives an Asheville vibe. The music while I was there was 90’s alt/grudge which fits the atmosphere. Give this place a try for the coffee, and the atmosphere! I love this place. Wish I knew about this place earlier and makes me wish I attended UNCG for college. Good feelings all around.

Ive stopped here multiple times since we have settled into the area. And its by far my favorite local coffee shop. Very cool place that has good drinks at decent prices and they are always doing something extra. Their art is amazing and they support other local artists and musicians. Very cool place

We are only passing through but what a great find. Both our espresso drinks were top notch, morning staff was very friendly and helpful. Masks were required and staff was all masked. Wish we lived nearby - this would be or go-to.

Simply put, I love this joint. Great atmosphere, the right crowd, fun baristas, and great coffee (the Brad Pitt is my go-to). Dont come if youre expecting Starbucks. Its the Anti-Starbucks...in all the right ways. Think 90s Seattle coffee shop...pre Starbucks invasion.

Manager kicked my friend out for personal reasons. Whatever, I can understand that. Friend was standing on the sidewalk when the manager came up and shoved him. Managers should be able to handle their emotions. The jerk also spilled a beer all over me

The coffee here is so good! My favorite is the Leonardo DiCaprio latte. The owners are chill too! Very nice atmosphere.

I love this place! The outdoor seating is so pleasant. I’m a teacher and I enjoy coming here to plan out my week and work.

Cool, alternative and slightly grungy vibe (in the best way). Mish mash of furniture, tables and chairs making it a cozy spot whether you are working or hanging out with a friend. There is a back area with a pool table and Pacman arcade game.Theyve got light fare in terms of food, lots of muffins and bars. Amazing vegan muffins from local baker!!Coffee is ok, they are more about coffee drinks rather than a specialty espresso, which is all good - thats what they are going for. They also have smoothies. Soy, coconut, and almond milk available for a 75 cent upcharge.

This is one of the best coffee shops Ive been to. People are very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing and nice.

I love this place, its like a melting pot with a great mixture of all age groups. Locals often bring their dogs in and you get ample opportunities to pet them. The staff are all really friendly. Ive met several really awesome people here. Some intelligent masters degree students. Some people come in here to relax and read a book. Some college students come in to study between classes. Others bring a friend and chat for an hour or two over a coffee.

This was a nice little coffee shop, but upon entering looked a bit run down. A great band was playing inside, which I loved! There were a few couches and chairs and a couple booths for seating. They have a huge wall of drinks to choose from. I decided with the Marilyn Monroe, which was espresso, white chocolate and raspberry. It took the barista longer than it should have to make our drinks, and we had to wait behind three people. Despite him being super friendly, my drink wasnt anything to shout about. The inside and outside looked a little shabby, but it seemed to be clean!

Staff are just amazing, personable, sociable.

So people can sit with no drinks unmasked, but I have to be humiliated and asked to leave after all mandates were lifted? I didnt have a mask and asked for one but instead I was asked to leave. This is wrong, businesses should be accomodating of all especially now that people have permission to be unmasked everywhere. Shame on you.

Attended an awesome fundraiser here. The entertainment was phenomenal as well as thought provoking. The barista was absolutely amazing and really sweet. There is an adorable neighborhood cat who came over to hang with us as we sat outside near the end of the evening. Overall, a really great atmosphere with a diverse group of people. I highly recommend whether you just want to grab a cup of Joe and read, work on your computer, or just shoot the breeze with some friends.

Good coffee, frendly Staff Unique but nice Interior.

The atmosphere is nice and friendly service. I went in at 9am and they were out of a flavor and couldn’t make my order. I’m perfectly fine with that and ordered 2 iced dirty chai lattes. I could hardly taste the chai. Very disappointing to pay 12+ dollars for what tasted like a glass of iced milk.

Owner does not care about your safety regarding covid 19, even when concerns are voiced by customers/staff. when concerns were voiced, they were quickly dismissed in the pursuit of making more money,. The staff is incredible and hard working.

I enjoyed this place having sat outside for an hour or so. Perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Double Espresso was a little light. Inside has couches, chairs and work space.

Common Grounds is such an awesome place. It has a cool and cozy atmosphere that makes one feel comfortable and not only do they serve coffee, but beer and wine as well! Its open inside, and there is a patio in front with a local feel.

I have been coming to common grounds for nearly 2 years about once or twice a month. Today upon arrival I had forgotten my mask. The gentleman at the register was very polite and kind asked me how my day was. The barista then stepped over and tossed a mask onto the counter (unsanitary) with her bare hands (also unsanitary). I proceeded to share the fact that masks do not protect us from viruses and you can tell this because when I wear a mask my glasses fog up. Proving that unfiltered air from my mask escapes the mask.I then asked the barista why she wasn’t wearing gloves if being sanitary was a focus of theirs. She then jumped on my case telling me that I was the only one in six months to complain (keep in mind I wasn’t wearing a mask upon entry). She told me if I didn’t like it I could leave and go somewhere else.If you have a standard of sanitation it should be consistent across the board you shouldn’t be picking and choosing what measures you like and don’t like based on your opinion but rather the best needs and concerns of your customer.From now on my coffee will be purchase elsewhere. Don, I hope to see you somewhere else at some point.

Its 5/15, CDC guidance already released lifting mask restrictions as well as Coopers mandate. Was refused service even though an entire table of people were sitting without masks (they were not eating, just sitting at a table on their computers). I guess my business isnt desired.

The atmosphere is laid back and cute. The coffee was even better. Iced coffee with tons of flavor options. Vegan pastries and nondairy milk. Yeeee.

Well, very college crowd friendly. Saw Ashley Sparks perform on 7/28 and thought she was fantastic. Was surprised that it was dog friendly, but all in all it was a kinda cool little hole in the wall with a college crowd vibe. Bring back Ashley she was amazing!!One question though...whats the pink thing in the tree?

Five stars for the barista and decor. The place is dog friendly. Didnt care much for the giant ash trays and the coffee was mostly average. I think maybe if you like fancy sugary drinks youd be happiest

Ive seen some Wonderful live musical performances here, and the coffee is Simply Amazing, and there are pretty good ales to choose from. If they only had a roaster it would be my favorite coffee shop in town. Still its a wonderful place and I love it!

BEST VEGAN CARROT CAKE IN THE WORLD! Actually.. best carrot cake PERIOD! I ordered a slice to go and started eating it and realized it was so good that I sent my friend in to order two more slices because I was too ashamed to admit I liked the cake that much LOL

Love this coffee shop! Great location, and, of course, really good coffee. Probably my favorite coffee in Greensboro. I really like the atmosphere here too... Very casual and airy. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I also really like that they support local businesses by offering locally made baked goods. This is a great stop after going to the Corner Farmers Market on Saturday morning.

We went on Thursday night for open mic and had a blast. The local talent was tremendous as were the specialty drinks. I had the J-Lo and my wife chose an option from the wine menu. The atmosphere here is warm, inclusive, and laid back.

Absolutely delectable soft serve and hard ice cream with a smorgasbord of exotic flavors. The owner is a gem; both sweet and helpful! A must visit for cold treats.

Coffee is always good. Feels kind of clicky though. Like you have to be part of the crowd to be welcomed there. The lady making the coffee was too busy talking to her friends to make conversation with customers.

My favorite coffee shop in Greensboro.Friendly staff, with comfortable, and welcoming space, to hang out with friends, study, work, out just sit and enjoy your beverage. Of which there is a huge selection, mostly named after actors and musicians. Locally made, and tasty baked goods adorn the counter and are a great pairing with your drink.

Absolutely quaint. Quiet shop with classical music playing. They have a little game room with a large television, AND a miniature movie theater in the back rooms. Plus, their strawberry-banana smoothies are delectable.10/10 would melt into oblivion there.

Coffee shop is great and most of the baristas are too, However “Trent” is very rude to his younger customers, and takes some of the business rules of having outside drinks etc in way too seriously... banning people or making them stand in the cold to finish drinks or harmless snacks before coming in. Also gets unnecessarily upset if you hang out there without purchasing something, when it is a very popular place for teens to hangout and I have noticed most do not cause trouble. Bad for business burning bridges with some of your most frequent customers.
