To make a VERY long story short, my wife and I had been to several dealerships, including one of the Gilstrap Family locations. We had way too many conversations with multiple salespeople. We were at the proverbial end of our rope when we paid a visit to DriveTime in Greenville. Bottom line: Matthew and Stephen helped get us into a newer vehicle. Bar none, they worked as fast as they could through the entire process and hours later, we drove home with our Hyundai Elantra. My gratitude goes out to you both and trust me, Im not so easy to impress but I am with these guys. If you want a used vehicle and dont mind going through the few hours it takes to get to the contract signing, this is the only place anyone should go.

This place is a great place to get a car that dont have a ton of miles on it. The staff and manager are very helpful. I just didnt have good enough credit to get it at a price I could afford. Check your credit if its over 680 I think they will be able to help you well. They really want to help you get in a car.

I purchased a bad vehicle from the one in Myrtle Beach, Sc. Not too mention an existing customer. So I call to return it and they was very nice about taking the car back in. My son was looking for a car. He has never had one financed. They were able to put him in a 2019 Nissan for 600 down. It was painless. They are great! Other lots wanted 2500 down for older high mile cars. I would recommend them. They are great!

Worst car buying experience ever! First that dont get all the information need for the car loan, so the loan company threatens to come and take my moms car. Next the trade in that was used still hasnt been paid a month later. So my mom who is on a fixed income is left paying on a car she doesnt have. Call the dealership to be told that they had a few trade INS and that they will get to it as soon as possible. I would give zero stars if I could. For a great experience please go to Hyundai of Greer. Ive never had one problem from them and Ive gotten 2 cars from them.

Just got a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze from them and can say the process was smooth sailing. The salesman there was great and answered any questions I had. The tire pressure was on when I test drove the vehicle and purchased it the next day but before I signed the paperwork they made sure to get it replaced with a whole new tire pressure sensor to make sure I didn’t have any problems with it. They also gave my car a free wash which I really appreciated. Overall they made the process simple and sweet for me. If you looking to get a car drive time is the place to go. I also liked they had some low prices for their cars.

Staff was FRIENDLY! Eager to help. Nice vehicles. We were told that while we wait for sometime to assist us, fill out application online. We did. Once the salesman came to help us, we had to turn around and give him all the info that we filled out online. Other than that, definitely a good place to buy a car from.

Dont go here cant go by there website cars dont look the same at all i had 5pm appt 645 finally get seen find a car i really wasnt that interested in put my down payment down on it agreed on the biweekly price couldnt finish paperwork came back next day the whole deal was different the car had a number of scratches and issues they struck something with the car tried to say it wasnt them i backed out of deal got my money back worst exp ever trying to buy a car went down street to carmax within a hour half i was out the door with the car i wanted and with no hassle or bait and switch like drive time buyer beware steer clear of them and there sister company carvana they are scam artist and cars are not worth the money

We got there and got approved, then Matthew helped us narrow down our search for vehicles that were interested in. Then Matthew got the keys and showed us the cars. He then gave my wife and I time to talk. The experience was great with no pressure.

I wish I had walked out without buying a car from here. I was first rudely spoken to by Billy. He seemed annoyed and inconvenienced by me being there and needing assistance, as I was a young, first time buyer. I test drove the car and noticed it was a bit bumpy, but I naïvely assumed it was due to being on “back roads” that weren’t nicely paved. I ended up buying the car, which was on March 30, 2021. I bought the car because I have a long commute to work and needed something reliable to get me there and back. Just a little over a week after buying the car, that bumpy feeling turned into rattling. I took it to a mechanic and it turns out that my car is going to be $600 in repairs. Today is April 21, 2021. Not even 30 days after buying the car, it is in the shop being majorly repaired. I know for a fact that this was an issue overlooked or ignored by DriveTime before selling. And of course, I was not properly explained the limited warranty, so that $600 repair is coming straight out of my pocket all because of their negligence. I am beyond frustrated at this point. But now I’ve learned my lesson and I hope anyone who reads this can learn from my experience and not purchase a car from here. This company doesn’t care about what happens after your purchase, they just want to make a sale.And to DriveTime themselves, I have seen the replies you leave on the bad reviews. Please don’t tell me you are sorry and then make a list of excuses as to why it is not your fault. This is on you, and I don’t want to hear your excuses.

Bought a 2016 Ford Escape from this place a month plus one week ago. For the last 2 weeks we are having a sensor fault and we have their expensive warranty coverage, so a monthly payment 460+. We contacted the warranty company, they tell us they don’t cover anything that doesn’t involve the engine lubrication. So we’re like okay, they tell us to go get it diagnosed at a mechanic they choose which quotes us 250 for a diagnostic. The person on the phone when I called was named Billy, and basically said I’m “outta luck”, that they aren’t covering the diagnostic and w/o it, nothing they’re gonna do. This is ridiculous I just bought this car. For this I can go to JD Byrider and get more customer service.

Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had a dealership. I was greeted by a very rude and passive aggressive seller who made it clear that he didn’t want to help me because I was a first time buyer. Honestly he was downright disrespectful. Don’t really know how he has a job selling when he managed to blow a sell in under 5 minutes. Went right across the street to a Toyota dealership and was test driving 2021 model cars, the service there was very kind, and most importantly professional.

If I could give them a zero I would. They are the biggest crooks. Went to the dealership in Greenville and after we went through the process of verifying my income and providing all the documentation they needed I started looking at vehicles. Simple so far. Well the car I selected sounded like the power steering was bad so they said they would put it in the shop and call me the next day. THREE days later I called them again, I called the second day and had to leave a message with no callback, they told me the vehicle was indeed ready, but the original terms had expired, and I needed to put more money down to purchase it. Then I spoke to the manager who gave me a different reason why I had to put more money down. Im not paying for repairs they had to make. Went down the road and bought a better car, with a better APR and less money down.

Me and my wife picked out a car 2014 ford escape we got it they put us through the company that collects payments for them which also put us through silver rock which they suppose to fix your car with $100.00 DEDUCTIBLE THEY pay the rest of your bill well we had the car about a little over a year never missed a payment and the brain went out of the car then we called silver rock and they told us where to get the car checked out and fixed so we had it picked up and they found the problem and we was supposed to pay $100 DEDUCTIBLE and silver rock suppose to pay the rest of the bill and they told us we had to pay the whole bill which it came to $1224.00 and we had problems with this car the whole time Ive had it and I call drive time didnt want to help us and we were good payers so my advice to all the people looking for a car at drive time your better off looking for a car with someone else if their car breaks down dont expect drive time to do anything they will leave you out to dry walking good luck to all you hard working people that need a nice car.

I purchased a 2016 Ford Edge with 81,000 miles. The Vehicle was seemingly perfect when I looked at it and test drove it. However after a few cycles (turned on and off), the check engine light came on for one of the oxygen sensors being bad. Im a certified mechanic and own my own shop. It easy for me to tell that the service department that inspected the vehicle before clearing it for sale, saw the check engine light, and I stead of fixing the issue, they just cleared the light knowi g it would come back on after the vehicle is driven for a day or two. Further more after driving the vehicle for about 30 miles I noticed a significant vibration when applying the brakes at highway speeds. This is actually very worry some as its significant enough for me to worry if the vehicle will experience brake failure. A few dents and dings, scratches and knicks I am fine with. But Iwill be returning the vehicle and buying one elsewhere as it was misrepresented as being a properly functioning vehicle, when it in fact isnt.

Upon arrival i was greeted by a very rude woman who almost demanded that I wear a mask if Im going to bein their building after letting her know I have an underlying health problem she told me she didnt care I legally have to wear a mask, which is incorrect information you legally are obligatd to tall people they need to wear one not legally make them wear it or leave. You guys could of sold a vehicle unfortunately the only thing that I sold on was that Ill never return or suggest this place to someone else. False advertising at its finest. I did the 2 min online application, was told I was approved with $1195 down. I visited the lot, gave info again, picked out a couple of cars online, test drive 2 cars, found 1 I liked nothing outrageous, a $12000 car. I was then told I couldnt get that car unless I was willing to put $3000 down. I was then given a list of 4 cars they would be willing to sell me. Any car lot can approve me with $3000 down. Why would I get a used older model with$3000 down?

If you absolutely have to get a car, drive time is not the only place that works with individuals with bad credit! This place will strip you of your last dime then charge you 25% or more in interest on top of the price of the car. The car will not be worth the price they put on the car! You’ll be so upside down on your car loan that you could of bought a brand new car off the lot or a used car with low mileage! No dealership will trade your car in because you’ll owe more than the car is worth! You’ll be so stressed because your car payments will be outrageous! When you’re finally ready to pay your car off, it will be time to purchase a new car because the car will require so much maintenance! They sold me a 03 trailblazer for 25,000 in the yr of 2011. The whole situation was a nightmare! Thank God for growth! Research around before you listen to those misleading annoying commercials! Credit unions and other car lots will work with you but once you take a car from drive time and try to trade it in, they can’t work with your upside down loan! Be smart it will save you later!

Very misleading!! I was approved for a down payment of $495 online. I read the fine print. It says that is based off a car priced at $12,395 with a down payment of $495. Simple right? Wrong! After sending all of my documents to the Greenville, SC dealership, I finally got my paycheck a week later and was ready to buy the vehicle. I picked out 2 SUVS. One was a little over $10,000 and the other was $12,395. I was then told that ALL SUVs on their lot require a down payment of $1900 or more. It doesnt matter what the price is. If its an SUV, its $1900. So basically, the online down payment is just a ploy to get you into their dealership. Im very disappointed and still looking for a vehicle.

I have bought at least 15 new vehicles during my life and this was by far the best car buying experience I have ever had!!! David Rodriguez couldnt have been more friendly or helpful!!! He smiled the entire time we kept him way after closing to finalize our sale and never seemed rushed to leave nor to rush us!!! How nice it was not to be pushed!!! Hes awesome!!!
