John Marcus of Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet has my highest review. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, this man deserves a 10! As a military service member whos focus is in customer service, I can honestly say that John Marcus was the most professional and honest person that I have ever dealt with when buying a vehicle. He told me a price and never faulted on his word or tried to add hidden fees. Due to the customer service that I recieved from not only him, but the whole team at Kevin Whitaker, I will only be dealing with this dealership from now on. I say that being that I drove all the way from Northern Virginia to buy my LT Trail Boss from John Marcus. Absolutely great buying process and even better customer service. If you are shopping anywhere else for a new vehicle, you are wrong!

I’ve been to the service department 3 times and 2 of the three were bad experiences. They mere mainly for warranty work and the first service. I was told things were done and I proved they were not. The third time the service manager Billy Page was helpful. He seems to be trying to turn that around.
An issue came up as I was visiting from out of town. I dropped of my car the night before and the next day y’all were very busy but I explained my situation and y’all made sure to at least diagnose my car and assure me that it was drivable. Y’all went above and beyond for me. I will definitely be coming back.
I am just going to start by saying I am a car sales person myself and never have I been treated so good when it comes to buying a vehicle from a bigger dealership! They had the truck pulled up when I got there. From the very beginning Steve Farry greeted me very professionally and very polite and with a smile! He made the whole experience amazing!! He is actually the Sales Manager but he answered any questions I had!! Not to mention gave me an absolutely AMAZING DEAL!! Once I got to finance I met Jerome and he was just as awesome! They were very down to earth while being professional all at the same time! I am extremely happy and will definitely use them when it comes time to trade my baby in in the long distance future 😆 I really cant say enough good things about them and kevin his self even helped me out so thank yall soo much!! I paid cash for a brand new $57000 truck and before 7000 miles truck broke down. I have never seen such a mess. These people dont return phone calls when they say and basically what I was told when I called to find out what is going on they have alot of trucks in the yard with the same transmission issue and they will get to it when they can. after explaining to them they were running a business and we cant be without our truck they said they understood but there was nothing that they could do they were supposed to look into getting us a truck as a loaner but no one from the dealership calls back worst experience ever I would never buy a Chevy truck again. The worst part about that they dont seem to care at all its almost like the sales department and the service department or at war and the customer is the one suffering

Honestly, this was a great experience! I was shocked how straight forward and simple the car deal was. Marco was great, very laid back and personable but knew his product very well. Jerome in finance was also great to work with, he was beyond knowledgeable and he patiently answered and explained everything to me. I Couldn’t be more happy with my Denali. Our sales representative, Jon Marcus, was awesome from start to finish. He helped us so much from the very beginning of the buying process...from ordering our Suburban to making sure that we understood the vehicle before we left the dealership. He kept us informed about the timing of the build of the vehicle and the shipment. Jon answered all of our questions. He went above and beyond to make our buying experience great. He even followed up after we took our car home to make sure that we were happy and had no more questions. The finance manager, Mr. Bullock, was awesome as well. Wait time is always brief for routine service and when something needs to be ordered, they always let you know. Just wish they could reopen the coffee bar in the waiting area. I have had work done on my car here before and I was satisfied with my service the last time I took my car into to get checked to see why it had a little hesitation going up hills. I received a text as to what the problem was I declined the option of getting the problem fixed when I went to go and pick up my car it was running really rough and my check engine light was on with several other lights. When I took it to get it checked out there was no check engine or other lights on and it definitely was not running the way it was when I went to pick it up. All I asked is why my car was running rougher and the lights were on as I didn’t drop it off that way.Instead of the advisor being rude. I just want my car back the way it was before they checked it.

I’m very unhappy with this experience at Kevin Whitaker. I bought this vehicle in July couple days after i bought it kept her this notification about a predictor starter issue left it up there to get it checked out and the representative and the person i bought the vehicle threw which is i think his name is Andrew said they saw nothing. Let onstage know that it may have been a glitch . Same issue goes off again end of august and September. Finally could setup an appt in October now they find a starter issue . Along with an oil change my bill was almost $500. Very upset people at this car lot is not standing behind there cars yes i u derstand the vehicle was used but seem like this issue could have been fixed.

My wife and I were looking for a new suburban, but were having difficulty finding one with a second row bench seat. He made the entire process of ordering the car easy and kept us up to date with the entire building process, including being up front on the time it often takes when ordering a vehicle. He stayed in touch with us from order date, build start, build completion, and delivery. Since beginning our relationship with Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet when moving to the area in 2016, we have continually been impressed with their friendliness and efficiency as theyve serviced our 2013 Sonic as well as sold us and serviced our 2018 Sonic. When we called on a Saturday afternoon about what AAA had diagnosed as an alternator issue, the service department immediately came up with a plan to diagnose our 2013 Sonic as soon as possible. They then correctly diagnosed the issue (the battery), took care of all of our additional maintenance requests, and also quickly allowed us to take advantage of Chevy Rewards to reduce our bill by $40. The negotiations went smooth with the exception of the excessive amount of time to get the paperwork wrote up and gave to the finance representative. The finance representative was then in such a hurry to get out of there he forgot to give me a Buyers Sales Order to show that I had purchase the vehicle. Stated that I did not need one when I showed back up to get one!!!!!! I did not notice this was missing since he place what I thought was all of the needed paperwork in an envelope. I sent an email the following morning and asked the sale person to get me a copy of it and send to me asap. I received an email back from the sale person stating that he would handle it and send to me. After waiting for a while after not receiving one I drove back to the dealership, Now I lived 2.5 hours away and upon arrival back at the dealership I found that the sales person was sitting at his desk ( he had sent me another email about 30 prior to my arrival stating that he was working on it) in fact he was not and had not even been back there to asked the finance guy for it until I walked back there with him. Another disappointing factor was on the evening that we purchased the vehicle they brought it back up from cleanup. We were disappointed in seeing that the vehicle was not presented as many others that I had purchased just this year and prior years. Only thing I seen that was done was they had washed and dried the vehicle and placed a paper mat on the driver side floor. The windows in the front and back were pitiful. In addition they did not address the tires with tire dressing. Presentation means alot....In response to the Owners Comment - I was sure that someone from the company would have contacted me about my experience. It appears that no one cares if you have any issues or not. In reading the Owners comments every negative review was going to the GM. You would think that you would see an improvement customers issues or a change in the GM position if things didnt change. For this Im changing my rating to 1 star now.

I came knowing exactly what I wanted and Andrew did not try to stray me away, he answered every question I had and did everything in his power to get me in my new Blazer. He did a great job! Scheduled an appointment for 6/18/21 at 9:30am. On 6/18/21 at 9:07am the service advisor Ryan texted me to let me know that my car would not be seen today. Frustrated due to me already being on my way I asked why. Ryan told me there were 15 cars ahead of mine and even though I scheduled an appointment that just means I was put in line. The person who scheduled my appointment told me that I could wait in the lobby on my car or they could take me home and come back to get me when they were done. I took from that, that my car would be serviced or at least diagnosed that day. It was an inconvenience for me because it was a day that I took off. If there were 15 cars ahead of me I should’ve been notified in a timely manner and not 23 minutes before I’m scheduled to be there. Called and left a voicemail with the manager and call has not been returned. Ryan was not helpful at all.
Ive been a Kevin Whitaker customer for almost 20 years. Multiple cars and intermittent service. My past two experiences at this dealership have been horrible and Chevrolets quality has tanked. The door handles, dashboard, and mirror motors on my late model truck have cost me thousands of dollars to replace because they are poorly designed, plastic, and ridiculously expensive. Ill seek another brand and dealership. BTW, your service advisor, Ryan, is about the rudest person Ive interacted with in a decade.

The actual reason we were there is my mom bought a new car from Toyota of Easley about a year ago that they did nothing but lied about from day one ! We did a trade for another new SUV was in and out the door in like 2 hours ! No one had to lie about anything and everyone was extremely Nice ! Didnt feel like had to be pressed into buying or not buying and actually told our salesman ! Whenever I get ready to buy again thats probably where I will come ! Got us the best price around for a beautiful 2015 Chevy Silverado with little mileage. Almost brand new! This is an unfortunate story of very poor communication and disappointment.I called on Wednesday afternoon to inquire about a black F-150. The lady told me it was available and we could see it but neglected to take my name and phone number. She told me to ask for Steve Addington since he had done the trade-in. So, we pack everybody up and go to the dealership. We arrive and Steve tells me he had been trying to call (remember lady didnt take my info) to tell me the truck was not actually there due to a recall that needed to be fixed by the Ford dealership across the street. Since we were there, we made the best of it by checking out other trucks on the lot. I liked a similar F-150 so we decided to come back the next day when the truck should be ready. Steve assures me he has one key, and the other is in his desk so we should be first in line when the truck returns.Steve texts me on Thursday, and we setup an appointment for 5:30. I arrive a little early and am standing by the truck waiting for Steve to arrive. A sales lady named Judy walks over to me and asks if I need any help. I tell her no and that Im waiting for Steve. She then proceeds to bring a person out to the truck and show it. Long story short the dealership sold the truck to another party without giving me a fair chance to buy even though I inquired first. Steve said he pleaded his case to the sales manager, but to no avail. Im very disappointed by the unprofessional behavior of Judy, the finance guy who we talked to but just patronized us with a Sorry routine, and the manager on duty. Steve told us later he was not notified someone else was interested in the truck. Just poor communication from start to horrible finish. I feel bad for Steve because he essentially lost out on a sale and worked on his day off to help us.If you MUST buy a vehicle from here, stay away from Judy and do not finance the vehicle through this dealership. If I could give this place 0, I would. Walked in to get service and most of the workers were standing outside talking to each other. 10min pass by, nobody gave me attention still. I had to go to an office with someone in there to ask for help. I had a worker help me and he was the most rude person I have ever dealt with at a dealership. I couldn’t wait to leave. Totally disappointed with this dealership. Put a down payment on a new vehicle only to find out the vehicle had mechanical defects. The dealership returned my money but did not give me the opportunity to repurchase the vehicle at a discount and l believe sold the vehicle to someone else at the original price. The new purchaser is probably unaware that the vehicle had defects because it was placed back on the lot as new. I dont think thats right.
Bought my truck here. Steve was a good salesman...even though I think they could have gone a little lower on the price. Day one was a test drive and inspection..I arrived the next day, already having my financing ready so I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Lack of communication, have put alot of miles on my car while having it. And using my gas. I have been keeping track with my chevy app. When I dropped the car off a service technician said he has been there 22 years and I do what I want when I want. I had to fight for a rental

I came for an oil change, tire rotation and my gear shifter wasn’t working correctly. The oil was changed, but though it said the tires were rotated, they weren’t. I contacted Rhonda via email and never heard back. Also, they had to order the gear shifter part. It’s been 12 days now and no one has provided an update of any kind. I probably will go elsewhere for my service moving forward.

I spent over $1200 getting my truck serviced and one of the main problems that I paid over $800 for it to get it fixed is worse now than before I dropped it off
Purchased my used 1500 Silverado on March 19 of this year. When we got home I noticed that the truck had an exhaust leak, no big deal, i fixed it myself. About 2 weeks later when i tried to used the AC it wouldnt cool. Added some Freon and it cooled right off and cooled for about a week and then went back out. After looking into it a little more i discovered a leak on the ac condenser. Bought a new condenser and installed it myself and fixed that problem. Fast forward to May 8th and my truck died on me in the middle of the road. No dash lights, no battery power, wouldnt turn over. Had to have it towed to my house and its been sitting there ever since. I called the dealership and the only thing they could tell me was find a good mechanic. I understand that i bought the truck as is but Ive had this vehicle less than 60 days and had all of this trouble. I dont expect anything for free but this dealership made no attempt to help out at all. Like i said, less than 60 days. I have nothing negative to say about any of the reps. Everybody has been nice and professional. But considering the amount of time Ive actually owned this truck and the amount of trouble Ive had out of it I really did expect them to care a little more and to offer AT LEAST some type of help and AT LEAST look at the truck. Very unsatisfied. I will never use this dealership again. I do NOT recommend Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet used vehicles.

Im a very hard person to sell when it comes to purchasing a vehicle, but the sales manager, Mark Harrell provided the time and expertise in selling me another Chevrolet... this time a 2021 Blazer. Kevin Whitaker is an excellent place for purchasing vehicles as they offer outstanding sales staff and support services after the sell.
So I called for help as my Chevrolet Malibu 2016 LTZ trunk was not opening and not responsive to any of the buttons. I spoke with a gentleman who asked if I “tried google first” and suggested I call a locksmith, which clearly was not helpful. Granted he was coughing his lungs up during the entire conversation. I told him politely that I did look it up on google and the only way seemed to be breaking through the back seat and damaging the car. He told me that was a great question and a great thought. Very frustrated by this kind of service.
Went to purchase a vehicle after talking on the phone with a salesman. Showed up finalized the paperwork and the New car sales manager came out stating he sold the car. We wasted 1 hour on the phone, 2 hour ride one way and one hour in the showroom. The New car manager could care less about wasting our time. Will never buy from this dealership

Appointment 1045 took a little longer than anticipated for oil change
Took 10 weeks to fix my car,gm warranty department said they would pay 100% of repair. At the end service manager Allen said I had to pay 50%. My car has been garage kept Sence new. The 10 weeks it was there it was outside. Detail shop charged me $200 to get all the dirt from it.

After getting home from purchasing a van from Kevin Whitaker, we found that the car had a much worse hitch in the gear shifts than we originally thought from 1-2 gear and 2-3 gear where the car would jutter. After taking to a local Honda dealership, we found out that we were 1,000 miles over the warranty applying to the problem and had to pay for it out of pocket and that it was something that the dealership we bought it from should have caught and corrected. The van also had not been cleaned properly. They had only cleaned the visible places, not under any seats, in any compartments, or even where the seats fold down.

I had A/C problems with my 2015 Chevy Silverado. I took it to be diagnosed at Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet because I bought my truck there and I used them before to do maintenance on it without any problems, this time was a whole other story... They told me ( after being diagnosed ) that the condenser needed to be replaced and that it would cost $1341.00 and with me approving them to do the work that it would be ready by 5:00pm. Thats a lot of money, so I looked it up on YouTube and my son said that he could do it. It was good to go for $200.00 in parts and 4 hours of work. I then took my truck to Tire Exchange in Mauldin to charge the A/C. They found 2 high-side valves bad and charged the a/c unit for $126.96. Everything is working fine. So, I got to thinking... the condenser didnt even look like it had a leak. I tested it at home at 125psi and no leaks. I then went to Kevin Whitaker service dept. to talk to the service manager. He looked up a couple of things on his computer and found a service notice on this problem but my truck wasnt covered. I ask him if he wanted to see the old condenser twice and he refused both times. He said that he was sicking behind his tech. Well, standing behind your people is admirable and all but everyone makes mistakes. I guess FACTS mean nothing, especially if you dont even look. Plausible Deniability is what its all about!
