I had them install my hitch and they did an excellent job of going that. If not the some communication problems, I would easily give them a 5 star review.. On my first scheduled install date, I drove from out of town with my wife following me so we could drop my car off, only to be told my hitch wasnt in yet. They apologized and told me someone should have called me which no one did so that was a day shot. I was told since they made me drive in for nothing they would make it right and give me a discount. Well, as expected no one else knew about a discount so I didnt get that. I was a good install though ;and the new hitch looks great, I just wish they could get their communication problems straightened out.

However, she immediately took accountability anyway and did absolutely everything in her power to make it right. I needed a 10 x 20 space and a 20 foot truck on short notice. Emily found a truck for me at another convenient location since they didnt have one on the lot. She also found me the space and gave me a good price with very pleasant service. I have rented from several U-Haul stores in recent years due to family/children transitions. This is one of the best under current management.
I’ve used this location three times for truck rentals. One of the experiences was great. The other two experiences were less than great. On one experience I scheduled pick up for 7am (when they open), and the first employee arrived late at 7:15am, at which time he had a long line of customers to take care of. On the other experience I again scheduled pick up for 7am, and this time no employee arrived by 7:30am. Thankfully I was able to switch my pick up location across town and received $50 back thanks to good customer service at headquarters. I recommend taking your rental business to the U-Haul location on Grove Rd.
Had a hitch installed and was happy with the staff and service. The job was done in a little over an hour.
Vehicle did not come with dolly which was not explained at time of rental and in was forced to purchase one from the Uhaul store because there were also none to rent out. In addition, the representative left me under the impression that Id be charged only for the mileage and the insurance, but upon returning the vehicle, I was charged two for the mileage, insurance, and rental and the rep was rude and argumentative and charged me for two days. Even though I got the vehicle the day before at 10am and dropped the vehicle off the following day at 7pm and I was moving within the same city. I will never rent a vehicle from Uhaul again.

After waiting on hold for nearly 30 minutes I am told I cant change my reservation time unless I go to a location all the way across town. The call wait times at this location are always ridiculous. Please stop under-staffing or at least make it easier to actually find reservations online because your glitchy website couldnt find my reservation after it showed up in the search it disappeared once I logged in. Thanks for wasting my time!
Picked up the rental truck. Odometer said 8000 miles when I got in. The person only looked at the exterior damage only, not the mileage or interior(which the windshield and rear view mirror looked like someone opened an explosive soda). When I returned the truck less than 2 hours later, they charged me for 79 miles when I only drove 16 miles to move some plywood from the store, which is on the route to my house, to my house. They also didnt check when I brought it back. I understand they are busy, but they need to refund me for the mileage I didnt use and retrain their employees to not cut corners which ends up costing the customer unnecessary headaches and money they shouldnt need to.
I have been using this store for the last 18 years for in town moves and occasional trailer rentals. I have never had a bad experience.Honestly I can believe the 1 star reviews because they seem to be short staffed all the time, but the employees that work there work their tail off and have always been polite and understanding.Could they be more timely on opening? Yes. Are they perfect in every way? No. Overall in my vast experience with this branch, I choose them every time because the people always try to help.
They took my new vehicle in to install a trailer hitch and lighting kit and returned it dented, scratched and unable to start, after 3 hours. Their insurance company Rep West is a joke and will not cover any damages to my vehicle... and take a look at Rep west reviews so you know who you are trusting your valuable possessions, denied claim after denied claim. The manager failed to return my call and I am seeking legal advise... more time and money.Go elsewhere!
Wade Hampton U-Haul is amazing! Great customer service (Michael at this location was outstanding! Polite, efficient, simply incredible) I have rented from several U-Haul locations before and Wade Hampton U-Haul sets the bar for all other locations. No other location compares to them. My experience here was a good one. I rented a trailer for my son to use to transport some furniture to Maryland. The transaction was easy and the employees were helpful. When I got the trailer back to my house and we started to load, we realized that we needed a larger trailer as one piece was too wide to fit through the door opening. I took the trailer back and exchanged it for the next larger size with no hassle, plus they charged me the same price for the larger one. Again the employees that I dealt with (different guys) were helpful and polite.
These guys saved the day for me ! I had a bad experience at another location and was sent here. It took 5 minutes or less to check in, they were polite, caring and understanding how difficult it was with a 3 year old and took excellent care of me and my son. The attendant made polite and relatable conversation while checking me in and proved what I expected and would want from Uhaul. Thank you- you really did save my day!

These guys at U-Haul Wade Hamptons are awesome!They are helpful as it gets! Probably more consumer centric than Amazon.We got there and our towing cable didnt work. The guys checked the cable - repaired it. Also they needed to check the fuses and replace one of those... They couldve just said - Whatever your vehicle doesnt work... They helped us and made it work. Only charged us what the actual material costs.I can recommend this place for everybody thats looking to move. They got it all.Thanks!!
First time renting U-haul and luckily I chosed this location because all the staffs are nice, kind, and honest... I will definitely come back at this location and also referring all my friends n fams to this location...good job staffs
Never had a problem. Move furniture on the side and have a mother in interior design so yes I have used them abundantly. Also they installed my hitch which hasnt fallen off or anything =D

Poor customer service at best, pertinent info is given only if asked. To put icing on the cake I was charged 20 bucks for leaving the rental in another location than given. The given one was closed and flooded by hurricane.Tough to contact, try to explain ! .... and no follow up what so ever. I care less about $20 but I GOT BURN ONCE AND WONT BE BURN AGAIN !Try Pensky or Budget or any other Rental Co. but these useless bums

I rarely write reviews, but felt this was warranted. Beware of U-Haul overcharging you.I rented a 15 truck for a drive from Lexington, KY to Greenville, SC and was given 399 miles and 72 hours of use. My contract began at 11AM on 6/5/19 and stated I was to return the truck by 11AM on 6/8/19.I returned the truck at 10:25AM on 6/8/19 with a full gas tank and under the 399 allotted miles. I was not given a paper receipt, but told I was all set by the gentleman working. Later that day, I received a bill stating that the truck was not returned until 12:30PM and I was therefore charged an extra $72.08 for a late day (but that I was indeed under the 399 miles).I was reconciling my bank account and realized I was mis-charged, so returned to U-Haul in person on 6/13/19 and explained the situation, additionally mentioning that they could check the security footage and see that I had returned the truck on time. The gentleman working said he believed me and would refund me the money. Again, I did not receive a paper receipt and was told I was all set.Two days later, on 6/15/19, I was emailed a bill for $141.45 stating that I hadnt returned the truck until 6PM on 6/8/19 (even later than the first mis-charge) and that I had used an additional 163.6 miles over the 399 mile limit (562.2 total). The distance from Lexington to Greenville is only 338 miles.I called U-Haul customer service, which took 25 minutes to connect to someone in person, and filed my claim. The gentleman on the phone said that this issue was above his pay grade and that it would need to be reviewed by management, but did admit that there were inconsistencies between my bills (one stating the truck was under 399 miles, and the other stating it was over). He said it would take 3 business days to resolve.So now, I have been mis-charged twice, am out nearly $142 for at least a week, and have had two hours worth of headache over the past week reviewing contracts, receipts, my bank account, visiting U-Haul in person, and talking to customer service on the phone.This is a serious issue for U-Haul to address. It makes me wonder how many other people get mis-charged. It will be nearly two weeks post-truck return until this issue is resolved. And all I did was follow their rules and my contract.Consider returning to a different location or renting from a different company in order to avoid this dilemma.
I rented a 5x8 trailer. There was a little bit of trash in the back but that was not a big deal. Everything was fine until we returned it. The worker that unhitched the trailer for us started violently yanking the trailer wires with one hand and now the wiring on my jeep doesnt work. I now have to trace back my wiring and find where it was damaged instead of being able to relax on my day off. Thank you unexperienced uhaul employee for giving me a complimentary electrical problem with the rental of my trailer.
Showed up at this location morning of Aug 25th. No UHaul personnel were present. Went through entire online check in process and got to the point where you would go inside to get your key. NOPE, no one home, nor did anyone answer the 800 number. I despise U-Haul entirely.
The manager is rude to customers.I stood at the counter from 8:30-9:00 AM and was never acknowledged or spoken to at all. There were only two other customers at the store, and he was very rude to both of them. I did not see any other employees which seemed odd since the work load must be greater on a Monday morning after a weekend when so many trucks were being returned. Bad scheduling apparently. I was looking to make a $1000 reservation for a cross-country move, but I think I will go to a different U-haul center now. I understand people have off days -hopefully thats what this was; just an off day. I left very angry and unhappy and I never even personally interacted with a single associate. My move is stressful enough without help from people I am paying.I had a trailer hitch installed at this location a couple weeks ago and a black gentleman helped me. Great experience. But the manager is not a nice guy at all.P.S. I called corporate to discuss the situation and was directed to a regional office. I called them and they said the would call me back in a few minutes. It has now been an hour and still no call.
Worst customer service and hateful people i ever did buisness with i will never use this company again and tell ypu not to either manager never available over charge you and still complaints go un heard by supervisors and no one to complainto corporation sucks i hope they go under ...i done 30 years of buisness and of late these people are ridulous gives no access yet suppose to be 24 hr. I rented a van for a couple of hours and literally went to my home which is approximately 3 miles away and then to the storage which was no more than 2/3 miles more and returned the van. Round trip I had the truck for a little over 20 miles. The miles were keyed in incorrectly and now I have over $100 in charges for a 2 hour truck rental. This is unacceptable and unprofessional and I know that people make mistakes but this mistake has tied up my money for God knows how long. This needs to be fixed immediately.

I saw the poor rating people had given this Uhaul location and was skeptical about using them. I rented one of their 27 ft trucks for a day to move my household goods into a storage unit. I ended up spending $65 for a stack of boxes, the truck, and a dolly. It was a great price, if you ask me. The customer service was solid. They didnt fawn over me but were polite and responsive. BLUF: I was happy with what I got and will use them again.
This place called to confirm my reservation but did not inform me that the reservation was going to be moved to a different facility. When i asked why they didnt inform me they had no answer, then i asked why they didnt transfer a working trailer from another uhaul facility they became very rude and stated, how many people do you think it takes to run a business and they are capable of driving to do that. This young kid that looks like he is still in high school claimed to be the assistant manager and has no professionalism whatsoever. I would never recommend this place to anyone, EVER.
Made a reservation last night, at the Uhaul on Wade Hapmton, for 7am this morning. I arrive 10 minutes early and at 7:15 they still werent open. Had to call and cancel at that point because I HAD to be at work! That is the reason for the 7am reservation and completing the online check-in. Whomever manages this location should be fired immediately. They obviously didnt check for early reservations last night and didnt ensure that they honer their commitment the the customer. When I called to cancel the woman I spoke with tried to contact the manage and was unable to so this person wasnt even available to ensure their store was open on time. Really screwed up my day with this rain in the forecast!
Most of the people who work here are diligent, and helpful, The manager, sometimes not so much ... he does need to take a class in customer service, and adjust his dismal attitude.
Ive used them several times in the past year and have had great experiences with them each time. Staff is professional, trucks are in good condition and clean, and pricing is exactly as expected.
Im trying to make a payment as I type this. Its 6:06 pm. It is March 1, 2016. No one will answer the phone to take my payment. I wonder why? The manager, Initials JC, and I have had an issue about him changing my storage payment to anywhere from the 1st thru the 3rd of each month. He refuses and wants me to pay an extra month ahead to get my payment date as I wish. Im not rich & wealthy. My payment is normally due on the 30th. I love the unit, but hes going to lose my business ASAP. Im moving out, and reporting him to his boss and the Better Business Bureau.

I wasnt going to write a review at first, but once i read some of the posts on here, and saw that i was not the only person that had obviously dealt with this rude manager, I thought perhaps I could save someone else the frustration. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had renting a truck. If you are reading this, I highly recommend you use any of the other many truck rental locations in greenville sc. Upon arrival one of the employees looked up my reservation. When he told me my expected total, I explained that the quote he was giving me was $200 higher than the lady had given me at the 800 number. The employee was polite ad he was trying to explain the situation to me. At this point, another employee interjected himself into the conversation. To say he was rude would be an understatement. At one point I asked to see the manager to which he replied, I am the manager, and the owner! I love and appreciate the art of good service. This gentleman went out of his way to belittle me and be rude. I walked out and went to penske truck. They were polite and exceptional.
