I drive past two other quilt shops to get to this one. The fabrics are beautiful and the people are very friendly and helpful. They sold me a machine I love without the hard sell - even let me try it first - and patiently answered all my questions. Other quilt shops have treated me like a child for being a novice quilter, but these folks are kind and welcoming.

I called the store and spoke with the owner regarding my Janome machine. He told me to bring it in and he would look at it. He was so helpful and friendly. I recommend to anyone needing quilting supplies and sewing needs. 5 Stars.

I was passing through Hendersonville... and just had to stop. You quilters will understand this compulsion. On my visit the staff were friendly and helpful. They offer a selection of modern and traditional fabrics. I found a true white on white batik.... just had to have it for my stash (but believe me that want my only purchase...)! Prices are better than many fabric shops Ive frequented. Will stop again on my next trip to the mountains!

Staff love their job and it shows with their willingness to assist. They will not pester you while looking at all the beautiful, quality fabric. Great classes offered, also. I am a beginner but they always help me to build my confidence to make me feel like I can create anything.

I stumbled upon this gem of a place when I needed my little machine repaired. In person and on the phone everyone was very kind and helpful. I started shopping there and took some classes. It feels like being at a family members home when I go in. In my opinion 5 stars is not enough for just how great they are. I travel from Greenville SC and pass several quilt shops because they are worth it!

I am a novice quilter and the folks at Beginning Quilts have been amazingly helpful. Recommendations were geared towards the beginner being advised not to rush in and buy a lot of stuff that I might not need. Anytime a retail business doesnt push you to buy, I am impressed!

Worst customer service ever. Their service technion has no clue what he is doing. Tried to do the least amount of work possible, while pushing me to buy every other product possible.Had to send the lemon of a machine back to brother, so many things wrong with it. Actually had to cut my loses and sale that machine.What upset me the most was how he tried to belittle me, and tell me there was nothing wrong with it.While they have very nice fabrics, I highly recommend not buying or having any sewing or embroidery machine services there.

My husband and I spent a few days at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville last August. Being an avid quilter I visited several quilt shops in the area. I found Beginnings to be delightful....a good inventory for the shop size....friendly, helpful staff, excellent prices and some really good sale items.

Having just purchased the Entreprenuer Pro 1050 (Brother 10 needle embroidery machine) as well as the beautiful Dreamachine 2 from the Beginnings Quilt Shop in Hendersonville, NC, I can compliment and highly recommend the excellent service I have received. Made a 45 minute drive to this establishment to inquire about a sewing embroidery machine. The staff working were inattentive and unhelpful. I was told that because I was looking in the $3,000 range that I should go home and shop on Amazon and did not want to discuss financing on a $3,800 machine. After leaving, I contacted the shop owner about my experience and was told that I should have made an appointment - even though the website does not express this.
