Started going here 5 years ago... the owner is a dedicated family man who looks you in the eye and tells you like it is. If you’re lucky you’ll get to meet one of his kids. There’s no BS- he’ll offer options if he can to save money, and the quality of work can’t be beat.

I booked a Uhaul online and came to pick it up as instructed. When I went to check in the mechanic, he told me to wait until the owner gets there. I asked why is that necessary when I already booked everything online and he said that the truck was suppose to be taken to Palm Desert and couldn’t be checked out. After waiting 15 minutes for the owner, Eric to arrive, he parked his car in front of mine so I could not leave and began to tell me I couldn’t take the truck (even though I rented it and paid for it online). I tried calling Uhaul corporate who also told him that the truck was rented to me and Eric still refused. He didn’t offer any other options, just a flat out “no.” I would not recommend this business for renting a Uhaul, getting your car worked on or for anything. If you do, you have been warned. Uhaul corporate also said they will be investigating Eric and his business.

Great family-owned business great reliable staff very knowledgeable if not then know somebody and I enjoyed that they work on my car several times

A+ service I went in there thinking I was going to need a new car after putting the wrong kind of gas in my tank and Eric is so honest he saved my car and my fuel pump and injectors he was able to clean it out and get it running like nothing ever happened. Thank you Eric for everything.

Went in yesterday after a brake pad went out, not only did they do the service in a day they definitely kept the bill more than reasonable and were extremely helpful and thorough. Very honest and straightforward. I went in with what I thought was a transmission problem. The mechanics diagnosed the problem quickly and accurately. I had 3 broken engine mounts and my car was ready for pick up the next day. The final bill was the total they initially quoted. Everyone was really nice and friendly. My 4 year old son said I liked those guys that fixed our car!

Eric and his crew are masters. Aside from being patient and helpful with me when my transmission crapped out, they barely charged me anything after a full service because it was no good. But they got it well enough to get to the dealership for trade-in, and advised me on my new car purchase.Theyve also taken great care of every referral Ive sent that way. Much love to their team. You gotta have a guy in this day and age. They are it.

I found south bay auto repair and transmission and am glad I did. I came in there the first time expecting to pay a lot of money and walked out paying nothing another place told me I had an electrical short when all I had was a bad fuse Eric changed the fuse and charged me nothing. Eric is honest and explains everything. The next time I needed some breaks. I lucked out they were running a special for 120. plus tax. south bay auto repair has a customer for life.

Warning! Dont use EasyPay! If you dont pay your bill off in full in 90 days your bill is DOUBLED. Yes, doubled. Do Not Use EasyPay!Also, Eric seems to think the world revolves around what he thinks is right and what he wants to do with no regard for his customers. So when he first chats you up -- and he will -- dont believe a word of what he says. Understand that he may or may not know what hes doing, how/where to get parts, etc., but he isnt always as right as he thinks he is.Ill never set tire or foot at that place again. I think the five star reviews were written by Erics friends. They cant possibly be true. And fake reviews are the cheapest kind of advertising.

This place is honest and reliable... family owned does not try to up sell... only does whats needed at a reasonable price... glad I found a place I can trust for all my car needs...

I had rebuilt the engine and transmission 18 years ago when my dad passed the car to me ! So with maybe 4000 miles I was in denial of needing a transmission again ! South Bay Auto Repair, had great comments on the internet and I agree ! He with experience knew within moments I needed a transmission and also that he would only be able to referee me ! Yet took the extra 15 minutes plus to help me understand why ! A 1966 Mustang Convertable thats been in the family and one day will be my daughters . He just did the right thing invested in the community!
