Nice atmosphere. Easy parking along the side of the building. No outdoor seating. Drinks are decent with some interesting seasonal specials such as a Tennessee latte. A bit on the pricey side. The food options are ok but would be nice to have 2-3 vegan & gluten free options which are clearly denoted. Overall like the concept but looking forward to see how it evolves.
Great customer service! I went there for a bottle of water while waiting for my 11 years old boy finish tutoring right in building next to it. The baristas were very helpful, since they noticed I was holding a toddler and I was in a hurry! Nice bathroom! There is even tampons for women in need. I really liked the proposal of the coffee place. I might try coffee and come back for another review!
Best dirty chai lot today and almond croissant in town. I also get coffee beans from here for my own home setup since they brew right next door at Cleos. 100% recommend for both. You can also return your used Cleos coffee bean jars for a free coffee and money off your next purchase!
Amazing coffee shop!Definitely try the seasonal flavors, baked goods are very good too ( not overly sweet )
Im a huge fan of this place! Its a real gem in a neighborhood strangely lacking in cool coffee shops. The staff are always friendly, but best of all, I think, are the food options offered from the bakery and kitchen. A great place to stay a while, though bring a sweater because it can get chilly in the Texas AC!
Good. Quiet atmosphere. Plain coffee was strong! But Caramel Latte was good. BLT made to perfection! Im gonna frequent this business.
Nice working atmosphere with very cool staff members! Love this place
I personally did not like the cappuccino. I might just be my taste profile. Butter croissant was huge in size which is always a plus with rich butter flavor, however, Im not too sure about its freshness. Staff is friendly though and its a nice cute place to visit.
I went there to pick up some coffee. So the owners of Cavo also own Cleo roasters next door. The beans are amazing, roasted to perfection. They do 3rd wave right! The barista was a wonderful a could be. We talked about the beans, roasts, grind settings, scales, and tasting notes. Yeah, it wasnt a brief chat, but she was willing to discuss all sorts of details as I chose my beans.I left with a nice cup of coffee and a really great jar of beans. I shared them (and a few other local roasts) with a friend who is a roaster and barista, we both agreed Cleo Roasters does the best. Ill be going back to enjoy the ambience.
Awesome service and coffee. Had some misunderstandings about refills and they took care of it no problem. Best coffee I have had in Texas. They grind the coffee fresh constantly. You can see them do it through a window in the coffee shop. There is a whole room dedicated to the storage/grinding of the beans. Excellent.
Pastries and coffee were first class.
Great place thats not afraid to play some 70s rock full albums. Not just the hits. Was nice to hear an entire David Bowie LP. Service was with a smile, knowledge and friendly. At first I thought, oh no not another sterile strip center coffee joint. They proved me wrong. This is a comfortable atmosphere but you better like cow hide. Tip: you can park at Marquis II and theres not supposed to be a problem. I did for almost two hours and nothing happened. Cheers
Best Coffee In Houston! Using Locally Roasted Beans (Amaya for now, in a few weeks they’ll start using Cleo which are going to be roasted next door- can’t get any fresher than that). The Baristas strive to perfection in every shot/pour any less than that is not accepted, they are very knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. Great ambiance. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!
Great find in rice village. Right off his so er and Kirby, this location is convenient to a lot and even has descent parking. The atmosphere is inviting. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted with smiles by a very happy staff. We kept it simple with cappuccinos for each of us and a chocolate croissant and an apple gruyere scone. The pastries were delicious and warmed for us. The cappuccinos were not only East but beautiful in an 8oz cup—the largest a cap should be imo.Overall, we really liked this place. I know there are others, but we haven’t been to them. We were staying at a nearby hotel. If it weren’t for Google, I would have assumed this was a well done one off shop. I loved the vibe and comfy chairs. And the sign on the wall that, judging by pics, changes from time to time.Definitely recommend this place for those who appreciate coffee with a more authentic feel.
Cavo has two locations, Greenway/Richmond and Bissonnet. I prefer the later due to the friendliness and service, and the more relaxed atmosphere. But both are great when it comes coffee and food, the food menue differs between the two.Cavo has their own roasting company (Cleo Roasting), which is located next door to the Bissonnet location. Prior to using their own beans they used other local roasters. My last visit I could tell that they are getting a better hang of roasting their beans. The taste was very nice. When I visited in 1 January, shortly after they had opened their roasting company, I found the roast used for the espresso drink a bit sour. But the last three visits were more rewarding.
Overpriced for what was cheap, greasy food. Coffee is alright but nothing special. Theres much better options in the area for what this is.
Good coffee, good vibes, poor outlet availability.
I really like the sophisticated rustic atmosphere here, with the leather, wood, and sheep skin furniture. The coffee is strong and well brewed, while the scone I had was pretty sweet with a strong note of earl grey tea. The staff was friendly and had a positive attitude. My one complaint would be parking. They have a small lot and it seems to be in conjunction with some apartments or offices above, so there wasnt really any parking available except for 3 10 minutes max spots by the door. I ended up parking at the Einstein Bros lot and walked over, but I didnt feel good about it haha
I enjoyed my stop at Cavo! The coffee is very tasty. They use mill-king milk (always a good sign!) and this time I tried the nutella latte. It is good, not as much nutella flavor as I expected, but I think it would be perfect for people who like coffee more than they like milk and sugar. Staff was friendly and everything was very clean. Atmosphere was nice - very modern.Parking is a little tricky here and requires backing out directly back onto the street.
Vibe is good but coffee taste burnt.
Amazing spot with a cool vibe and tasty roasts. Good pastry selection, and plenty of seating.
I believe this is a newer location for Cavo. The interior is nice. It has a pleasant aesthetic, and a decent number of seats for a place its size. Additionally, the types of seating are varied. They have high chairs, booth seating, regular tables and a few armchairs for reading. There is free parking. The coffee was very good, but be prepared to pay for it. Coffee averages $5-7 a cup for anything other than drip. They appear to specialize in slow brewing methods and single origin beans. You can get a V60, siphons, or even an aeropress (which I dont see at shops in Houston often). I had the aeropress, and it was great, but again it wasnt cheap. My drink was $5 and my 12oz mug was just under half full.My wife had their loose leaf tea, and it was good as well. They have several different teas, both caffeinated and decaf. The tea was $4.50, but it was a whole pot that made several cups. In fact, my wife and I couldve split the tea.Overall, a great location, even if priced high. Space is good. They have a number of good brewing methods, and the coffee is well-prepared. Come here for quality, not quantity.
I’m very impressed. I thought it was going to be an ok coffee shop, but it’s a tiny little great place to pick a coffee and pumpkin chocolate bread ... in Abril! How cool is that?
One of my favorite places to have coffee in Houston.
Nice atmosphere, the place was full though. I ordered a mocha latte and pear coffee cake. The coffee was good. If you dont like sweet this is for you, I had to add sweetener, which it was good I had in my purse because I did not see any in the shop.
Nice place with good coffee and tasty treats
The Asian barista woman was very nice, and knowledgeable about the shop and its products, she informed me that they roast the coffee beans on premises. She was also very prompt. There where few customers when I arrived, not many spaces for parking vehicles either. The coffee was average. Next time I will try a different type.
A wonderful, modern coffee shop with a lovely sitting area outside. The coffee is great and the pastry selection is varied and they are all made in house. Try the Nutella cookie!
Hands down the best Mocha Ive had in Houston. The staff are efficient and friendly.
I wish they had more breakfast items but the coffee and breads were the bomb.
Some of my favorite coffee in Houston! And the pastries are really good too!
Such lovely staff and a great study atmosphere
Good coffee. Unfortunately for the price the value isn’t there. They only have one size.
Appreciate all the protocols, sanitation, and thoughtful care staff provided to ensure spread of virus is kept minimum to none. Thanks to the barista who firmly called out the customer walking around sans mask. Also, coffee, baked goods, and customer service are lovely.
Pretty neat place. Good coffee.
Didn’t like the coffee but the barista was nice
One of my favorite places to grab coffee. This isnt anything close to a Starbucks, the coffee here has so much more flavor and you can tell that the staff take pride in their product.
Amazing cold brew and awesome staff
Customer service is awful. Can they do better choices when it comes to hiring people please. Don’t don’t snails, they do t use the “ can you please sir”, or the “ can I help you with anything else”, or etc etc etc. I went there on 10/19/20 afternoon. I am just trying to help this place to stay on business since it is around the corner of my house.
My favorite coffee in the neighborhood
Delicious coffee and a great environment!
Staff was friendly, my cold brew and apple danish tasted great. Not a huge place but good little spot to hangout or study.
Strong flavorful coffee
Great atmosphere and awesome customer service. Very clean as well. The only thing I would say is my coffee was way too sweet. I could only drink half a cup. I wish would have known the sugar level. That way I could have switched to stevia or honey. I got a vanilla latte with oat milk.
Great spot for coffee. Not a ton of outlets available to plug in laptop/devices for work. Regardless, wonderful ambiance and location. Plethora of coffee to choose from.
*This was my 1st visit to this location. 2nd visit to the Cavo chain. Same impression both times.I think this is my first non 5 star review.First. The good. Had a real nice blueberry muffin. Staff was nice. Now, theres a lot of good coffee in Houston. If youre gonna try to float your price point just above the other shops in town that coffee needs to be noticeably better. IMO it was not. A cup of drip and muffin cost a little over $8 after tip. Call me cheap...but I want more out of that price point.I do respect that preferences w/ coffee can vary. But no matter the roast or style, its my opinion that there needs to be a few traits present in the tasting experience. This coffee had just one tone of bitterness.
Awesome coffee. Very flavorful!
Saw the story on your coffee house. Have never been. Will, definitely, be stopping by to help support your business.
My wife and I went to Cavo on the advice of friends. Their decor is quite nice and the service pleasant and relatively quick. My Flat White was delicious! The one thing I wish was more outside seating.
Went in today for the first time with my wife and 3 kids. All of our drinks were great. In particular my Americano was extra special, so delicious. This is the real deal as they’re roasting their own beans. The interior design and furnishing were very nice and comfortable as well. Pleasant staff and a seemingly satisfied collection of customers. Why would I go to Starbucks with this gem in the neighborhood. We’ll continue to come back and support this wonderful coffee shop.
Good experience with ordering. Nice coffee
Super delicious
Good coffee 100/100
Nice clean, cool atmosphere and decor, good coffee and chocolate croissant. Music too loud for my taste, would need noise canceling headphones and your own tunes if rock isn’t your cup of joe.
Very chill vibes. Love this place
Coffee, pastries and atmosphere are great. I highly recommend
Drove 45 min for a cup of Cavo coffee for the first time today. Was not disappointed. One of the few places in Houston who understand the meaning of good coffee
Mediocre blend coffee. The girl behind the bar was only too happy to help- not
Love their cold brew and simple syrup. So good. Tried the pastrami sandwich today for lunch. Delicious! Looking forward to the roasting place next door to open up.
Great coffee. Nice fresh bagel. It took time, but it was worth it.
Yes, I know... Cavo Coffee is painfully hip and there are many people who frequent the cafe and seem like they are taking being cool wayyyyyy too seriously.
I really love this place. Don’t forget to try the traditional macchiato here.
Really great coffee and very friendly staff. They were very knowledgeable about the products they were serving and the coffee itself. I loved that they use actual vanilla beans in the vanilla syrup they make for their drinks.
Nice little cozy spot with great products and nice ambiance, everything is clean even the restrooms
We always have our team meetings here. They have the best blueberry muffins
The coffee house staffed by coffee nerds who weigh the right amount of coffee beans before making your espresso. Homemade syrups for those who like flavors. Great place
Great coffee, done the RIGHT way!!! My dry cappuccino was perfect and gorgeous! If I’m back in town I will definitely come back!
Great coffee with a smile. Nice assortment of baked goods.
Good coffee and food. Small but very lively place.
Great hot chocolate and pastries. The seating is comfortable but can be limited when Rice University is in session.
Excellent coffees and teas. Comfortable seats. Nice decor.
Many different methods of brewing offered here. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Super enthusiastic baristas, great environment, and delicious coffee and food. Excited to go back
No spaces to work
