So glad to see such a great vibes bean shop n EaDo on the bicycle route no less. Service was supper friendly and helpful I was just surprised to see so few staff on a Saturday morning so it took quite awhile to get our tasty brews. Maybe just an anomaly? Looking forward to another visit to hang out on the corner and watch the world go by. My standby americano did not disappoint as the beans were yum.
Really dope vibes that are fitting for a developing EaDo area. Love the warm aestetics with the accompanying vinyl wall. The music played helps really bring the vibe home. Add that on top of the great coffee and spacious seating, this makes for a cool place to knock out some work! Highly recommended.
Finally made a visit to this East End establishment a few weeks ago. Located in the Headquarters coworking building, Giant Leap has really good coffee and excellent service. I came about 45 minutes before closing. I never felt rushed. Instead the barista was very conversational and engaging. Its quite small for Houston standards, but comfortable with 3 tables along the wall, 3 bar stool seating along the window and a several chairs and bar stool seating outside. Plan to make this one of my frequent coffee shops as long as the coffee remains good and the service is great.
Nice neighborhood coffee store good quality baked products. Nice Starbucks like place without being Starbucks.
Really cute coffee shop! Really small space. Nice if you like quiet place to talk or work. Coffee is really tasty, and they have different milk options. They also have juice, and kombucha. We saw someone with a cinnamon roll so they do have little snack options for food. Overall, a really nice coffee shop!
They have the Orchara cold brew that is simply amazing. Also they have a wonderful wine bar.
Amazing place! Super friendly staff, dog friendly and great chill atmosphere.. stopped by to try it out and we will definitely be coming back again and again. One small gesture earned a lifetime customer! Thank you Theo 🙏🏽
The coffee: The cortado was interesting. Pretty acidic and I would say very fruity. It seems like a darker roast and had a very full flavor. It was served very hot (yay) and in a really neat cup as opposed to the usual clear glass or mug. It gets points for presentation too. It had a very different flavor profile from what most other coffee shops in Houston have. I think the fruitiness kind of defines it. I dont love it, but it was good and I would come back for the change. The service: Excellent! The barista was super friendly, and chatted with us and other customers. My experience fell towards the upper end for me.The shop: They have a really strong brand image. The decor, drinkware, signage, lights, and even the latte art push the space theme. I like it. Very few places attempt theming like this, and fewer pull it off. Its very clean, classy, and open. Theres a good amount of natural lighting too. It is a bit small, and the seating is pretty limited though. There are some outlets, but they are pretty inaccessible from most of the seats. If this place does take off, I can see it being more of a grab and go. They do have wifi though, just ask! Also, it is a bit hard to see from the street, but just know its at the Headquarters.Overall: Its a cool new coffee shop worth trying out. If the coffee was more to my taste, I wouldnt hesitate to give them that extra star.
Always delicious coffee! Usually go on Saturday mornings and the staff is friendly. Heads up if you go during peak hours, there is usually only one barista and the line can go a little slow. Still giving it five stars bc the staff on duty is always hustling.
Brand new coffee shop in the east end right outside of downtown Houston. The barista this morning told me they have been open for about a month. If youre not looking closely, you may pass right by as no sign for Giant Leap sticks out, but its easily found inside of the Headquarters building. The inside is clean and simple, no over the top decorations but still trendy and hip. The menu behind the counter may seem a bit limited, but more than likely if you ask you shall receive! I got a flat white with vanilla this morning and that was not on the menu. Staff is very friendly, and the bacon breakfast tacos are really good. Make sure you get there early because the bacon tacos run out quickly! If you want to try out a brand new space thats awesome and not very well known yet, make sure to check out Giant Leap Coffee!
Its now in Harrisburg + is a wine bar at night. The iced Viet coffee is great on a hot Houston day 🖤
House coffee was horrible. Had to throw it away.... 3.25 down the drain. Hole in the wall establishment. I will go to Valero gas station next time for better coffee.
Soooo good and love the patio space. Perfect place for a cup during covid.
Great little shop that not too many know about. Theres a 30 min time limit on parking right outside so if youre needing to buckle down with some work for a longer period of time, youll have to look around the street. Tea, coffee both great, service also. Nice.
I’ve been coming to Giant Leap since they opened back in 2018 and have never had a bad experience. They have some of the smoothest cold brew in Houston. 11/10 recommend
Do you like coffee? Espresso? Giant Leap serves the best espresso in town. And it has a staff so friendly that will greet you with the cheeriest welcome. And it’s also very stylish place with fancy ceramic espresso cups and dark wooden trays.
This is a really cute place that offers a nice alternative to bigger, trendier coffee shops like Tout. Parking is easy and ample, and the staff was super super nice. Coffee was excellent. Look forward to returning soon!
House blend espresso is fantastic
Fun decor and short menu of essential coffee/espresso drinks, carefully prepared and presented. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Prices are very reasonable given the value. Definitely worth a regular visit. A much welcome newcomer to the East End.
Excellent coffee, well priced. Dont let the neighborhood worry you away. Small inside seating area but a nice little patio area as well. Didnt have a chance to try any pastries or food but it looks like they have a decent selection of both normally. Not a ton of parking out front but theres a big parking lot for the headquarters building right next door.
Brooooooooo this was the best cappuccino i’ve had in my life. so good. got in and out fast. place also had great accommodations for social distancing & contactless ordering. even had a germ x station out front. 10/10 will be going every time i drive past
I love.This. Place. Its cozy and quaint, and while they are legit pros at their craft (read: passionate and detailed about what they do), they are all super nice and friendly and not on some high horse like I was just reading about people having at another coffee shop. It offends me to read about horrible customer service, especially unprompted and needless. No stress here, these people are 100% awesome, they always make me a perfect cup and theyre freakin nice.
They have great box lunches during the week and breakfast tacos on the weekends from Half Moon Kitchen which I love! The coffee and pastries are great and the people are super nice. I will definitely be back.
Very professional and very accommodating to someone who loves their coffee, but wants to follow social distancing and not go inside buildings.
Great place, clean and convenient. It’s hard to find since there is only a sign on the door and it’s tiny. Many people are here studying so there are very few seats left inside.
Super cute little place. They have great box lunches during the week and breakfast tacos on the weekends from Half Moon Kitchen which I love! The coffee and pastries are great and the people are super nice. I will definitely be back.
Wow this place was a pleasant surprise. Coffee was made to perfection on multiple visits. Great care taken in making and staff on all visits were friendly and seemed genuinely engaged in conversation with customers. Hung out longer than expected due to great product, service and vibe.
Very cool place, and above avg. experience. Great coffee, great roast. Well done lattes w perfect portion dial ins. Good food items too, except Id like to see more vegan items stocked up. Love the concept being local to Houston.
The baristas were personable and willing to answer all of my questions about the selections here. I was allowed to sample the coffee and espresso (Ive never tasted a roast as unique and flavorful as the single origin Guatamalan roast). Its a small shop, so the atmosphere is welcoming. The oat milk latte I bought was perfectly crafted with the right ratios of milk and foam. By far, the best experience Ive ever had in a coffee shop. Will come again.
Loved these guys! The staff was amazing, we showed up right as they opened and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I had a cappuccino that was so good I had to get a latte to go also. Pastries are delicious and so are the empanadas. They do espresso right.
Great place to meet friends for a glass of wine
Awesome coffee, and always make you feel like friends here to their regulars. The tacos are fresh and their yogurts are my go to for my daily breakfast. Locally owned and such a great add to the neighborhood!
If youre looking for a great coffee served by a friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled staff, look no further. I went to their grand opening today, and it was impressively well organized. Even though the staff had many people and needs to attend to, they found the time to chat with just about everyone. But the coffee! One of the staff recommended trying a cortado, and it was as delicious as he promised--hearty, robust, and well balanced in flavor. Moreover it was served at a drinkable temperature. Ive never had that happen before. Theres a pretty good selection of beer, too.I plan to come back often.
This is my new favorite coffee shop in Houston. Wonderful, attentive, and quick service in a cozy environment. Great place for reading a book, working off of a laptop, or just meeting up with friends. The Cortado I had was full bodied and robust. Espresso shot was brewed at the right temp and time (a rare art these days). A real gem worth checking out.
Wow just wow, this place is amazing great. The lady in the front was so nice and made me and my friend a custom drink and we are definitely coming back ! Thank you!!
Great locally roasted coffee. The barista really knew about the flavor of the coffee and how to brew it best.
Such a fun atmosphere and the coffee is always fantastic. Love my surprise drinks!
This is sure to be a coffee mainstay in East Houston for a while. Good coffee, good service. It can be a little cramp, but is totally worth checking out.
The baristas are super nice. I ordered a flat white and they made it super fast and it came out great! They usually have breakfast tacos I believe but the barista said the guy didn’t deliver them that morning so that was a bit disappointing. Pastries, beer, and other items I don’t remember were available.I wouldn’t work here as there isn’t a lot of seating and just a few with power outlets. Cool vibes though. Cozy and chill.
Cool snacks Im able to eat and delicious tea! Wasnt able to try their coffee, as I dont drink that anymore, but the staff was friendly and this place is pet friendly too.
Extraordinary coffee and service. Very cool vibe and delicious empanadas. Only complaint is that it isnt open later. Great place to study and get work done
For being the Space City, we definitely dont have enough space/NASA themed coffee shops. The decor is perfect and so is the iced coffee!
Great authentic coffee not watered down like Starbucks. They coffee has a deep rich fruity/nutty undertones. Delicious
Amazing coffee, nice chill vibe.
Great food quality. Great selection of food. Coffee was good.
Simply put: some of the best coffee in Houston! Other places may have great coffee as well but Giant Leap is consistently great at reasonable prices.Staff is also friendly and knowledgeable.
Great Coffee! They do serve amazing coffee! And Pastries. Chocolate Croissant was delicious! Not enough seating but the good flavors make up for the limited space.
A cute little coffee bar. They were busy and didnt have many places to sit. The stools we ended up on werent that comfortable and the bar was maybe 10 inches deep, making it claustrophobic.
I stepped in about 2 weeks from opening day and really enjoyed my visit. The coffee is on point! I’ve told many of my colleagues about Giant Leap. Unfortunately today I’ve experienced my first inconvenience as my order came out wrong; and after it came out wrong, I got a long explanation why I didn’t get what I ordered (something about recommended sales. I’m not going into details here). All I wanted before I started my workday was a good, strong coffee and it didn’t happen. Hoping for better results on my next visit 🙏🏼
Great Americana and nice iced coffee. Small friendly coffee shop plus snacks and more. I definitely recommend!
Good place to chit chat with friends. Good foods and drinks
I was in line to place my order and by the time I was next they told they were closeI was a regular at the previous location
Great little spot, chai latte was on point and good service 👍
Really nice place. It has great espresso and nice pastries. Will be returning.
Absolutely amazing coffee! Super friendly staff, has a wonderful, positive and fun vibe.
Cute coffee shop in east downtown! Loved their vanilla latte and matcha cold tea!
Great addition to the neighborhood. The crew have been friendly and the coffee is great. Support you/our local coffee shop today.
Good service but the Wifi never seems to be working when I go. I recommend it if you just want to have a drink/pastry and chat.
Very good coffee, and friendly!
Great pourovers and you can buy beer to go! Convenient!!
Great coffee, great service. The baristas are very knowledgeable as well. Highly recommend.
Great coffee shop, good beer too! Good wifi for getting some work done. Lovely owners :)
Great service. Very good Latte.
Delicious coffee!
Amazing coffee and sweetest people. Love coming here whenever I get a chance.
Nice place, good coffee and light food very pet friendly.
Great place to get coffee! Awesome service!
Into it. Lots of pastry options, parking, outdoor seating.
Love their iced vanilla lattes. My friend ordered the chai tea latte and said it was the best she ever had! She was about to order a second. Lol
Highly recommend! Tasty cold brew that will have you taking a giant leap into your work day and a cool atmosphere 💗☕️
We were in the area with our kids and my husband and I wanted a coffee spot to stop at for a drink and dessert. We found this one super close and its so fun to see this area with new development since my childhood days of being raised in 2nd ward. The mocha latte and chocolate croissant were delish, our Barista Mariah was awesome and very welcoming. Its a small place with minimal seating, but we found a spot, so it was good enough. Also some seats outside and a ramp for strollers or wheelchairs. Parking was not bad.Wed come again!
Great coffee. Warm and cozy. Friendly.
I proposed to my sweetheart here. Amazing place. Unreal pasteries.Coffee is as good or better than others in town!
Fantastic coffee... Great to find and hopefully this shop will thrive as the East end develops more
Enjoyed my first Cortado ever. The baristas were so nice and welcoming. Just to add, the layout and decor of the place is so aesthetically pleasing! Most definitely recommend you visit.
I drink coffee a lot, and Ive been to most of the local shops in Houston. This place is tied with my favorite for cold brew coffee. Also, it has amazing themeing for being in Houston. Cant recommend enough.
I was disappointed for as long as I waited to go. Matcha latte was not good at all.
Poor decisions by ownership all around.
Good coffee shop. I dont know what process they used to design the seats, which I believe are the most uncomfortable seats in all of Houston. I
Great and friendly service! Coffee is good too! Wouldn’t come here to study as it is a very small space.
