Finally tried this spot today. apparently they have house-made syrups except vanilla and caramel. so i went with iced almond honey lavender latte (large). guys, it was sooo good. not too overly sweet, i enjoyed the nutty + lavender flavor.parking is a bit limited. great service - the lady and the owner were both super friendly and kind. cozy and spacious coffee shop!
Always have good visits to Fix, and I enjoy when I’m able to spend some time there. The selection and preparations of the coffees is good, and the staff is always friendly and professional.I appreciate that masking is taken seriously. The staff wear masks, and there are plenty of signs around requesting, politely, that masks be worn by customers and how and when. As a result, I have never seen a customer walk in without a mask. The parking lot is a bit wonky as it is shared with many other business, but, even if a non-to-go spot is unavailable in the parking lot, there is nearby street parking that is very convenient.Fix has plenty of space available indoors and usually has a few tables available outdoors as well, which is refreshing. So, visit Fix and have an enjoyable beverage, maybe a muffin, in an enjoyable storefront.
The only thing is… THEY DO NOT HAVE WIFI. so please be aware of that if ur thinking of coming into work or study. But on the other note, everything was good! The coffee has a note of both sour and bitter. I love black coffee just on its own so coffee that has more of a deep bitter, salty flavor is much better for me than extreme sour coffees. I love their coffee! The staff is very sweet and nice! The interior and the atmosphere is great, too.
A hidden gem serving a rotating selection of high quality coffees that are consistently and methodically brewed. Quite spacious indoor seating and convenient location on Montrose. The barista is extremely friendly and explained the current coffee offerings clearly, and they have many. He gave me a few recommendations and they were indeed delicious.I got a plain double shot of single origin espresso from a Houston roaster, my wife and sister-in-law got iced honey lavender lattes, and my brother got a mocha. My espresso was incredibly sweet, had a nice velvety texture, and tasted of watermelon, cinnamon, and milk chocolate. Definitely one of the best shots Ive had at a Houston coffee shop so far. They serve the double shot with a side glass of chilled mineral water, which is perfect for cleansing the palate and tasting again. The iced honey lavender latte was a perfect balance of sweet (but not too sweet!) and flavorful honey-lavender with their very deep and chocolately house espresso blend from Java Pura. Phenomenal!! The mocha was too sweet and tasted mostly of syrup - I think half that syrup amount would have been better.I went back another time and tried the hibiscus lemonade latte - also fantastic, preferable if you are going for something a little sweeter and refreshing. The coffee is still present in this drink though, as it should be.
I came to Houston in October for a buddies wedding. Arriving Wednesday morning, after checking in to our AirBnB, we decided to get some coffee. It was delicious of course, but that is not the point of this review. Being mid 20 year olds on vacation in a new city, of course we decided to spend our time getting blasted day in and day out for the next 4 days. I cant stress enough the fact the only thing keeping me going was getting a latte from this place every morning. Coming here after 2 hours of sleep, hungover as hell, and getting a delicious cup of coffee literally saved my life. If I ever come back to Houston, Im coming here for my hangover cure.
The manager of this place is outright awful. He does not know what a good customer service is. Just look at his responses to the 1 star reviews on here. They are all either passive aggressive or straight up rude. Im truly appalled. Its literally the first rule of leading a successful business: treat your customers well.**Update: The owner must be related to that woman from Amys Baking Company from Kitchen Nightmares. Both delusional and keep blaming their customers.
Been coming here for two plus years and this is my favorite coffee shop of all time. Such great guys and amazing coffee. Definitely try it out and you won’t regret it.
One of my favorite coffee shops for delicious coffee and a cozy atmosphere. My favorite drink is the honey lavender iced latte. They also have beautiful local art for sale on the walls and it’s very affordable.
Just incredible! The second you taste their homemade syrups you can tell the difference. Houston has great coffee shops, but Fix is definitely the best one! Their seasonal Honey Fig Latte and Honey Lavender Latte are too special! Amazing service also, they curates and creates works of art.
Stopped in Sunday afternoon before heading back to Austin. Outstanding americano and mocha. Way better than the better known standard.
I really wanted to love this place. It’s a bit far for me to drive for their nice lattes and I was willing to do that, but their parking situation is bizarre. They only have like two parking spots for their business with two extra being “to-go” parking only. If you don’t want to get towed, you have to park a block and a half away or more if the nearest street parking is taken. They also didn’t have wifi the last few times I went.
Overall a very weak coffee shoppe. It should not be best of Montrose, as there are far better places in the area. We ordered an Americano and iced latte both with 1 pump syrup. The first round of drinks only included an ultra sweet Americano. The iced latte was on its way. As a line up built up, we then got the second attempt of an Americano. This time the drink was sour as the espresso was under-extracted. After 2 attempts of an Americano, at least 15 minutes waiting (with just 3 customers that arrived after us all of whom received their drinks), and no iced latte in sight, we told them we wanted our money back. The guy behind the counter stated the espresso was perfect, but honestly that was no perfection. In the end we got our money back, but given all this we will not return or recommend this place to anyone. As noted below the owner feels the need to attack customers after an honest and polite review.
Just awesome. The honey lavender latte is stunning. Can’t wait to come back.
This has been a go-to coffee shop for me for a while now. Every drink is amazing, they sell their (wonderful) cold brew by the half gallon, and the staff is always super friendly.
The best matcha latte I’ve ever had! It’s my favorite and I love coming here :)
Our absolute favorite. The also have the best tasting non-dairy milk options!
Doesnt have wi-fi, photos are misleading seeing people working. Good service and tea though.
I have been trying to a find a low key coffee shop ever since I moved to Houston. Fix is quiet enough to get homework done but still has a lively atmosphere. They also make the best Chai Latte Ive ever tasted, and I have tried a LOT. There is a decent amount of parking, and there is inside and outside seating. Im definitely making this my go to destination.
Lovely place, a great coffee shop. The firings and food were very tasty and the staff was super friendly. Cant wait to go back.
Parking was awful and the fact that there was no wifi?? I don’t understand a coffee shop that doesn’t have wifi? I was planning on working for a few hours but couldn’t. Don’t see the hype
Great small coffee shop in Montrose area. It was hard to find parking, but I guess that’s to be expected in the area. We tried the seasonal items: honey lavender latte and spicy pecan latte. The honey lavender was more honey than lavender, but still good. The spicy pecan wins though, the cinnamon makes it smell so delicious! Definitely recommend that one! Lots of people studying when we visited.
Absolutely awesome service! And my coffee, late to be exact. It was honestly the best I ever had! Thanks sky 😉made my day!
FIX is the best coffee shop in Houston. Here’s why- their coffee is delicious, always hot, and always consistent. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable for conversation, reading, or studying. The staff is so welcoming and friendly... every time! I don’t typically write reviews, but I’ve been coming to FIX for over a year and felt it was worth it. Every time I’m searching for a good cup of coffee, I go to FIX because I know it’ll be hot, taste great, and I’ll receive it with a smile. :)
Loved the vibe of this place. The set up, the decor, even the music was great. Tons of seating, a little close together, but ample options. Music was coffee house with a little extra something. Only shortcoming was the amount of time it took to get my Honey Lavender Latte. The wait was a bit excessive, like 10 minutes or more. There was only one guy working the bar and register and that was pretty horrible. I order a cookie and latte and was done eating the cookie long before I walked up to remind the barista I was still waiting for my latte. Overall, the Honey Lavender Latte was good, but Common Bonds is better. It was more like a Honey Latte with a Lavender flower design on top. Still a pretty cool coffee bar, nothing special.
Their morning drip coffee is a blessing. So is their staff. I go there at least three times a week and it’s always a total highlight. Their specialty drinks are also delicious and you can tell that the baristas put a lot of work into making good product. Can’t wait to go there tomorrow.
Amazing coffee and even better service. One of the few coffee places in Houston I drink at! Highly recommend!
Kindness lives here. I visited for the first time in years as its close to my chiropractor. I needed to get some work done and you should always support local coffee shops. There was a single Barista behind the counter, younger man with an English accent, and he was slinging lattes, welcoming in patrons and carrying conversations with the regulars. The drink itself I don’t remember, it was very good but overshadowed by the experience. I sat down to work and thought man there are so many people talking in here, which is Unusual for mid morning at a coffee shop I feel… as I worked and listened a bit I realized this was quite a unique place. These were regulars sharing their day and lives with each other. The Barista knew them by name, he would recognize a car and say oh hey (Name here) is here. It was really nice to see a thriving shop in which a community truly gathers. I knew I was the odd one out so I quietly did my work until I needed to leave for my appointment and as I was packing up the barista came up to me and handed me a ginger maple latte and said, “I noticed you were working and your latte was getting low, can’t have that.” I thought I was just an invisible observer but the barista noticed someone new and treated him like a regular. Literally, an awesome environment to have been in. The coffee was really great but you can get good coffee a lot of places. I think the magic of Fix is the people who work and frequent it. Seems like it could be time for a new tradition of pre-doc coffee.
Im there for a breakfast burrito, left with a breakfast sandwich that was much better on a croissant and a triple espresso. The staff was very polite courteous and attentive.
If you are ever driving along Westheimer, in search for a high-quality and modern space to enjoy a warm drink and a delicious pastry, FIX Coffeebar is the place for you. Opened in June 2016, this minimalist urban shop is well cared for and it continues to look brand new. From the quick service to aesthetically pleasing environment, mouth-watering food to flavourful drinks, FIX Coffeebar is a rising coffee shop star.Parking is limited and the shop is not too busy. Darkly stained wooden tables decorated with succulents can be found both inside and outside, easily sitting a generous amount of customers. Before ordering your food at the cashier near the back of the restaurant, a large refrigerator stands, full of various cold drinks. Beside this is a wooden shelf that has FIX Coffeebar beans from a variety of countries for sale to bring the taste of costumer’s favorite coffee and tea to their own home. On the other side is a glass case with both sweet and savory pastries including filled danishes, golden croissants of various flavors, and fruity muffins, all of which are served warm upon request. The chalkboard-style menu can be found above this case and lists the many hot drinks that are available for purchase. The two friendly staff are efficient and, despite our large group of ten, warm pastries and drinks were served promptly. I had ordered the hot chocolate and a plain croissant and they were both presented beautifully. The large croissant was buttery and flakey, resulting a satisfying crackly sound when taking a bite into its airy center. The hot chocolate was equally delicious. The barista had poured a delicate design using the creamy milk, causing frothy bubbles to form around the edge of the large cup. When taking your first sip, there is no need to have anxiety about burning your tongue off, as the warm drink is served at the perfect temperature. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the drink was not overly chocolaty and more on the milky side.FIX’s Award Winning Nitro Brew Cold Coffee is their signature drink. While it is made with no sugar or sweetener, it has a creamy taste with a sweet undertone, making their no need to add anything to the already perfect cup.The atmosphere surrounding us was simple with a wood aesthetic along with pieces of motorcycle-themed art. The wood statement wall is eye catching, as it collages many pieces of wood of different colors. This unique pattern appears in various other places in the room, which ties the space together. Each month, FIX Coffeebar displays the artwork of a local Houston artist and host an opening event to introduce their art to their customers and the public. The artwork on display the day our group visited were pieces by Robynn Sanders Hale. Our group agreed that this is a great way to show support for Houstonian artists as well as benefit the coffee shop.Overall, we highly recommended FIX whether you are on a search for a quiet place to get your work done or somewhere to run in and grab a hot drink and warm pastry when in a hurry. Don’t waste your time in a crowded chain coffee shop when you can get high-quality drinks and pastries for a low price, with friendly service in a easygoing atmosphere and hot chocolate that won’t give you a 3rd degree burn.Price: $Recommended Items: Hot Chocolate, CroissantWheelchair Accessible: YesDog Friendly: Outside AreaService: 5/5Atmosphere: 5/5Food: 5/5Overall: 5/5.
Excellent americano as always! I appreciate that they have quality decaf options as well.
The cortado was chocolatey, bitter, and had a strong roasted smell and taste. I almost felt like I was eating something roasted. It was pretty good, but a bit pricey for what I got ($4 for a cortado, which was the same price as the latte which is even weirder). The inside has a good amount of seating, but it gets a little cramped. There also isnt much space outside. Itd be a nice place to get some work done.
Only go if you want to wait 20+ minutes. They are obviously understaffed. Hire more staff, treat and pay them well. Its not rocket science.
Just walked into this place randomly after googling a coffee shop in the area and it was amazing. Owner is a great guy! They make there own natural syrups. Great coffee! Best coffee shop I have found in houston so far
Accidentally came in a few minutes after close while heading to an event, the guy working didnt let me leave empty handed & gave the scoop on what Ive been missing with the cold brew. Dope staff & much love definitely my Montrose corner spot
Best Coffee shop in town hands down! Staff is very friendly and helpful, espresso drinks are the best I have had in Houston. Syrups are homemade which is a rarity around here. Only found this shop after COVID due to my normal spot moving to later hours, was the best thing to come out of COVID for me! Could not recommend it enough. Also it is dog friendly, enjoy taking the pup on weekends and walking around the neighborhood.
Amazing customer service. The man went out of his way whilst he was closing up to let three teenagers in and to give them a show at the variety of coffee and syrups he has to offer. YOU MUST TRY THE HONEY LAVENDER LATTE!!!
Really enjoy the atmosphere of this coffee shop. The two times Ive gone its quiet enough to focus on doing work on my laptop. I ordered the honey lavender latte and it was the best latte I have ever had. It was delicious. Their iced coffee is very refreshing too. There isnt much parking in front of the shop but they offer parking on the street nearby. Ive never had a problem finding parking. Overall, I genuinely enjoy coming here and will definitely come back.
The coffee knowledge of the owner and servers is unmatched to any coffee shop ive ever visited. They also serve very unique drinks and 2 types of cold brews- the nitro is quite good. Two thumbs up!
Friendly, personal service, excellent coffee, and daily fresh-baked pastries that melt in your mouth. I appreciate that they have a number of local offerings (from milk to hand sanitizer) that support other small businesses too.
Nice space, better staff. Jake always has the espresso dialed in.
Nice spot, great nitro but no wifi
The coffee is good and the place is a nice spot to have some coffee in the morning, love the service.
Hands down the best coffee in Houston! Fantastic coffee, love their oat milk lattes and warm pastries in the morning. Friendly staff and very considerate with Covid19 procedures.
Wonderful family owned coffee bar. They make their own syrups and they keep their politics to themselves unlike major chain competitors. The guy with the red beard also has a really cool accent!
Decent coffee at a good price but the Sunday service is ridiculously slow. Stood in line for 20min to get a coffee with only 3 people in front of me. Me and a few others decided to leave.
No wifi, no signs letting patrons know there is no wifi.Owners reply to me on this comment of This isnt an internet cafe is disingenuous and in bad faith - plenty of people go to coffee shops to do work, not must myself. Easy solution is just to put a sign up letting customers know before they spend their money that there is no wifi available. Also, the stores own Facebook page claims to have Wifi.
I love coffee and drink lots of it. That being said I had a espresso and it was amazing. Smooth and rich and the right amount bitterness. So, I had to try a mocha after finding out that a local makes the chocolate for Fix. Boom!!! I have to say best Mocha!!!. Fix you have become my favorite coffee shop in Houston now. If you live or visit Houston its a must try.
The baristas here make a terrific oatmilk cortado and they sell great local beans for making coffee at home.
Super nice staff and very knowledgeable about coffee (I’m a roaster myself). They brewed up a great cup for me, I highly recommend!
Love the coffee here its so good and nice.
This place is slept on. Super small but the coffee and service are on point!
Excellent service, flavored syrups made in house, and a good atmosphere. My fiancé and I came here for the first time on a Sunday evening. We tried their seasonal lattes: the honey fig and the boozy Irish cream. I recommend either one. We also tried a pastry. Im not sure what the official name is but its a puff pastry covered in pecans. The pastry selection was minimal but we did come near closing on a Sunday.
I wanted to post a food pic but it looked so good i couldnt stop. the service was very welcoming and sociable. this place has an awesome feel to it.
One of my two favorite coffee shops. Had to stop for a honey lavender before moving to California. Friendly and welcoming staff always. Great with suggestions 👍🏼
Good coffee but there’s no wifi
Fix offers great espresso coffee drinks which are consistently good. They have a few tables to sit outside and enjoy your coffee which is a plus these days.
The server was rude. Worst experience by far at a coffee bar.
Lavender oatmilk latte was 10/10! I don’t think their dine in is open? Unsure but still will revisit :)
The owners are awesome. Great recipes - we got the honey lavender latte. One of a kind! Great atmosphere!
Todays hero, Stephen! Best barista, and thank you for saving the day by protecting our debit card! We 100% recommend the coffee, best coffee in Houston! Drove all the way from Midland, in West Texas, to get some from here and it was totally worth it!
Beautiful inviting coffeebar! They have all the staples and fun seasonal drinks with honey, lavender and fig. A yummy smoked cortado! Cool art everywhere - local Houston artists displayed, warm decor and cool, clean chalkboards. Glad to support this local spot. Owner is a very nice guy!
Met the owner Gary, he took the time to educate me on why his coffee stands out from the rest. If you get the chance pop and say hello and grab a great cup of coffee from some great folks! So happy my girlfriend turned me onto this place ! Quick and convenient, Definitely my new go to for coffee!
Very helpful and knowledgeable with the coffee they carry.
Best coffee in town.
Great coffee, really friendly employees. Ordered a cup of chemex, barista gave me a free small cup of drip just so I could compare
Really tasty coffee. I got the honey lavendar lattee, and it was a great way to start my day.
They had specials and suggestions about this and that flavored latte to get, but I just went for the plain one. They care a lot about the science of coffee, and have developed a precise formula for how much of what bean at what size grind gets exposed to what amount of water at what temperature for how long. They also use slow-pasteurized milk, which I had never had before. Between these two things I had what was without exaggeration the best latte I have ever had in my life.
Nice authentic coffee bar with good Java and muffins. I was a little disappointed they didnt have mocha though.
Absolutely love this place! The owner is the sweetest and everybody is super friendly. A great vibe for when I need to work on my laptop. Only wish there was more parking but there’s always parking nearby
Nice space to work or share coffee with a friend. Wood art on one wall and watercolors of iconic Houston scenes on another. Very friendly staff and the ginger maple latte was great!
Finally found my go-to coffee spot in Houston!!
