The challenge here is finding it, a couple of little streets behind the police station. Although townhouses are sprouting like weeds, this is still an industrial area nestled up by the freeways. The entrance is at the blue door up a ramp. Tons of parking, and a light and airy interior. A novel concept here: extra dollars buy food for hungry/homeless locals. Given the location, this is a wonderful thing. Then theres the food. Not a lot of breakfast choices, although I will always order the breakfast tacos. Much care and thought have gone into these, which are delicious. My coffee was great. My friend was delighted with her latte and bakery item. So we who have tried breakfast all over the city agree this is our go-to.
I ate a this place every day my boyfriend and I we were homeless we now have a nice comfortable home I would love to go eat here even volunteer
It has been a couple of years since Ive last enjoy this establishments coffee. A lot has changed since then...for one they now serve food. I decides to stop by today and see how the menu was and catch up on some personal work. I was surprised by the new set up was allowed for way more seating then my last visit. There is plenty of work space, though power outlets are limited to those seated at a table near the wall. Not a problem for those who are powered up or will only spend a short amount of time there.I decided to have the breakfast tacos (the vegetarian friendly option), which were very tasty. The coffee was pretty good too, depending on ones preference of acidity. I would give it a 4 and half star rating out of five.Like I said there is plenty of work space/ seating which can be hard to find at some of Houstons top coffee shop. So if you are looking for good coffee and a place to get some work done...this is a great spot.
I used to go here frequently when I attended Ecclesia, which is a great faith community. But you won’t be bothered by people pushing Jesus on you, and it has always been a place for a variety of work, student, and coffee lover types. I just called their number, and the message indicates it is open. Call them to verify the time and day. You might enjoy checking out A Second Cup, too, which is only a few minutes away in the Heights. Happy caffeinating!
Thus far, Paper Co has provided me with the best coffee out of all the coffee shops in Houston that Ive been to. After trying their cortado (the first I had ever had based on the baristas recommendation), I liked it so much that it sent me on a mission to try as many cortados at as many coffee shops as I could to see who had the best one. After going to over a dozen places, and continuing to go over a year later, I have yet to find a place with a better cortado. Paper Cos is rich, flavorful, creamy, and chocolatey. They never fail to serve it hot and to the brim, both features that are often lacking at many other places. While Paper Co does provide the best cortado, it isnt necessarily my favorite place to go overall. Some issues are the difficulty to get here, the significant lack of outlets preventing me from sticking around to do work, and the fact that not all of the drinks are necessarily good. Here is where I am a bit more biased because I dont like their Vietnamese coffee at all, but Ive never been to a non-Vietnamese place where I enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee. I would still come here, of course, not only for the cortado but also because I like the large, open atmosphere (its basically just a big warehouse). I would, and do, highly recommend Paper Co to any coffee lovers.
The place is really nice and the coffee is pretty good, My boyfriend had the chicken waffles and he loved it!The only reason I’m giving it a 3star was because the energy and vibe just wasn’t there, the cashier/barista wasn’t really friendly, she seemed annoyed or idk lol we were taking our time trying to figure out what to order and she just stood there looking at us didn’t offer to help at all. And it wasn’t a friendly stare either.Anyways I’m not sure if I’d come here again but it was nice and different
Love coming here the staff makes you feel like family the best Paper Co. Cafe !!!!!! I come in every week due to work Always greeted when i come in
So I cant believe the first review I just read says it was friendly and that the Vietnamese iced coffee was good! That cracks me up. I just came from there. On this first and final experience, I was greeted by all manners of angry teenage hipster girl. I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee and even though there were 3 baristas and there were no other orders at the time, it still took several minutes to pour the premixed sludge from the pitcher and add ice. It looked unlike any Vietnamese iced coffee Ive ever had but I thought, what the hey, Ill try it out. It also tasted unlike anything Ive ever had, and not in the good way. Grainey, chalkey, bitter, thick, not coffee like at all. Much more like a cigarette milkshake. When I politely asked if I could maybe get a little more sweetened condensed milk added (in case that could improve the abomination, because I was desperate for anything remotely like coffee), the barista almost snarled at me when she told me they dont have that, its pre-mixed. Needless to say, I will not be returning. On the upside, the guy I was with got a latte, and it was latte-like, but way overpriced, took forever, and nothing special.
This place has some amazing ambiance, a lot of work has been put in on the interior call it local place for breakfast food is okay, it’s been a while since I have visited this place y’all really need to update if you are open or closed ! TML
I love this place! They had the flight option of mimosas with different flavors. The food delivers on flavor. I sometimes can’t make up my mind if I want breakfast or lunch. The cinnamon pecan pancakes are delicious!Give me a like if this review was helpful.
The coffee is excellent and the interior is spacious and cute. I really enjoyed sitting by the huge windows on this chilly morning to absorb some sunshine with my breakfast. I had the breakfast plate. The potatoes were better than I’d expected them to be, and the bacon was cooked perfectly for my tastes. If you prefer your bacon to be more crispy, ensure you ask for it well-done.A friend ordered the breakfast sandwich and while the presentation was beautiful, the bacon was a bit underdone, which would have been fine for me but my friend wasn’t too happy with it.Currently, drip coffee is free refills which is a new thing they’re doing - very worth it!Both of the staff members working the counter were friendly, polite, and helpful. And for being a Saturday morning at a place that serves breakfast, it was surprisingly not as busy as some other places can be.

What a beautiful place! I had a fried egg sandwich, it was once excellent!!! Nice environment and awesome service. Coffee used to be splendid
Absolutely loved the place. Went for the first time today and the people are nice and attentive. Food was delicious especially the turkey melt. Coffee was good. I ordered a latte and enjoyed it. It has a nice ambience and there is a nice view to downtown from there too. Definitely will be coming back!
I used to love this place. Centrally located to downtown but with easy parking, it was usually an easy choice to meet someone. They are closed once in a while which of course is a drag. They dont answer their phone and VM is full so you cant leave a message. Today I ordered a ridiculously priced cappuccino and it sucked. Hopefully they can get better making cappuccinos and be open when they are supposed to be.
Cute place to go and enjoy whatever meal of the day. Parking sucks but that is to be expected in the area. Food and drinks really good but not my favorite spot. Would definitely come again. Enjoyed the atmosphere. It was busy on a Saturday at 10am
Visited on Fri I believe. It has a good interior.
The cafe is housed in a re-purposed warehouse, so its a very bright, open space and overall has a modern aesthetic which is pleasing to work in. Seating is a mix of community tables and smaller tables. Seating with available outlets are fairly limited, since outlets are located on the wall, but good place to study otherwise.
Over all, I love this place. For any of you coffee lovers who like maple flavored coffee, I believe they have THE BEST maple latte! Check them out!
Loved the food here. Everything was very fresh and delicious. I wish I could have tasted everything on the menu because it all sounds so good. We had the million dollar bacon and all I can say is wow!!! I never thought I would be happy paying 5 bucks for 4 slices of bacon but I will definitely pay that again! Everything else we ordered was just as good! We will be coming back here often!!!
I love coming here to study. Its usually not too busy so you can get a good spot. It has nice long tables in case you need to spread out like I do. Theres outlets along the wall. They also roast their own beans and the coffee is phenomenal! I highly recommend this place.
Good was good. Great berries of city. And backside view of the train station. Thats the Big Boy in background. Largest steamer.
Im sitting in Paper Co as I type this. This is my 2nd time here as I decided to give this place another shot, but my last experience is very similar to this one. For it to be connected to a church the girl behind the counter seemed to have no joy, at least when I walked up. She was not friendly...barely said 2 words to me. I did notice that people with fairer skin were at least greeted with a smile. This will be my last time coming here. Too many great coffee shops in Houston.
I live not far from this place so I often come here to have a cup of tea or coffee in the evening or in the morning.Great industrial style coffee house! Wide open spaces with bay doors. Coffee and food was excellent. Well done with concept to completion. We will be back for more. We had the eggs Benedict to eat and fried rice with Chinese sausage. It was wonderful. The latte and Vietnamese coffee didnt disappoint either.
Strange location for a coffee shop. Not super obvious where the front is or how to get in.Its like a coop space where there are multiple businesses.Once you find it, its awesome! :)
Love this place and their mission. This is my go to place for cafe office. Large 8-10 people tables great for meetings and huge windows for great natural lighting. It can get busy, but never full. We ordered the breakfast plate and super bowl which were both great and served hot.
I really enjoy that this cafe is off the beaten path. This is not a place you just stumble upon walking or driving around. You have to know its there through some other means in order to seek it out. Once you navigate to it and locate its entrance through a blue door at the top of a ramp, youre greeted by a fairly large and open space. Besides operating as a cafe, theres also a full kitchen with breakfast, lunch and side offerings. I can easily see myself working/studying here for an entire day with the amount of food options they have here.
I love Paper co. Everytime I go, everyone is so nice. The workers are so friendly and it creates a good atmosphere. Ive been here a handful times and every time I love it more and more. I always get so much work done here. I think its one of Houstons hidden gems.
Checked this place out to get some work done on the laptop. Free wifi and lots of reachable plugs is always a plus for a coffee shop.Lattes were on point. They were quite large. The lemon poppy seed scone wasnt my thing but still tasty. The inside has high ceilings and a very modern decor. The place is basically a warehouse and Paper Co is a small part of it.Relatively quiet with lots of seating and lighting for studying. The only things I didnt like is that it got a bit too cold for my liking so bring a jacket. The AC blows quite a bit from the ceiling vents
This is my favourite place for lunch now, or a coffee and cake in the afternoon, best cake I have ever eaten! The service is very good, the staff are all so friendly, see you soon.
Normally I would not rate a primarily meat based place so high, however the staff was awesome. After hearing a coworker and I joking about eating fries only (vegan) the waitress grabbed a coworker who was also vegan. They modified the wrap/sandwhich to be vegan at their own suggestion!Great customer service, and so 5 stars. The Wrap was awesome as well.
Paper Co is a great little cafe. Youre greeted by a nice garden near the entrance. The staff is extremely friendly. They do all of the standard coffee drinks youd expect from a coffee shop. My personal favorite drink is their Vietnamese iced coffee. Their food menu has some really great options and they will do their best to accommodate dietary restrictions if you make a request. The inside layout encourages sharing table space and has a community feel to it. There are several picnic tables outside that are a wonderful spot to sit, especially in the morning before the sun hits them.
Paper Co. is probably the best coffee shop in town for getting work done. Its an open, modern-industrial space with long tables and good WiFi. Its a shame outside (and sometimes inside) is a gathering spot for the homeless. The normal coffee options are above-average but Id rate their Vietnamese coffee below-average.
I really like the warehouse feel. Very open space and tasty iced coffee. Somewhat limited seating, though, if it’s a busy day—expect to share a table (not something I mind!). I went on a Sunday and they do hold church inside next door as well, which can sometimes increase the crowd size.
A really gem for coffee and writing spaces in Houston. A great neighborhood, intersecting multiple classes and peoples. Im always comfortable with travelers in and go. The folks behind the counter are among the most friendly in Houston. The lunch common meal is fine and a welcome experience to be part of shared food with others.Wifi is strong :). The space brings the huge windows of freeways, downtown skyline, green trees and sky together for a refresh moment for conversation and writing.
Such a great hidden secret for those looking for quiet places to study or meet. Really good coffee and decent snacks and sandwiches. Location is out of the way but still close proximity to downtown. The site can be busy since it shares the building with the Ecclesia Church. Otherwise lots of free parking and space to work.
Despite not being a big coffee drinker, I felt that my cappuccino was one of the best I ever tried. Food was good as well. Plenty of parking space. If you are looking for a place to study or work, this is top choice.Free art on display.
This place is great! It does not have a good view but the space itself is open. The chairs are also uncomfortable. Its not designed to be sit on for long periods of time. I wish they had more outlets but so is life. This is a good place to meet in groups with alot of friends. It also have a breakfast and lunch menu as well. The staff is also great!
Incredible food and coffee. All profits donated to help the homeless. Good service and funky industrial hipster ambiance. Awesome brunch adventure spot.
It a fun place but they just need to replace a red hair security lady who didnt brother helping me. I trying to look up her department and send a complaint for unprofessional.
A good variety of exceptional coffee, a very cool location with a great view of the downtown skyline. Youll have to pay close attention to your gps directions, but once you find it, I dont think youll be disappointed.
Second time getting a white mocha from here and it is delicious! We went to get lunch after a museum visit on a Saturday and wound up there in the in-between time after lunch and before dinner. I will try to get a meal there another day as I hear it is delicious!
Drove 30 min to be here and they are closed, for 3 months! Please update the hours and your voice mail.
I can say this place does it for me. i had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. it has a good feel to it.
This place was awesome!! My husband and I will definitely be coming back. I particularly loved the thick bacon and the scrambled, cheese eggs!
The concept at Paper Co. is fantastic. For the quality, this is by far the cheapest coffee place in Houston. The outlet situation is a little strange, hopefully they do something about that in the future.... But all in all, the food is filling, the coffee is top notch, and the people are easy-going.
Location is a bit unusual but very cool on the inside. The staff was okay and the manager very friendly. The food looked great (albeit I didnt try it) and my drip coffee was above average. Pricing is not too high.
It a fun place but they just need to replace a red hair security lady who didnt brother helping me. I trying to look up her department and send a complaint for unprofessional.
I love this place so much. the staff was friendly and observant. bring your appetite because portions are filling.
Great prices, friendly people, quality EVERYTHING. Perfect location with a pleasant view. And only 20 minutes away from the airport (HOU). A great way to get in breakfast with a well roasted coffee or loose leaf tea, before a long day of flying.
Such a great location to have one on one meetings, getting work done on the laptop, or getting a filing and fresh bite to eat. The plants, natural sunlight, background noise are always great.
Good Coffee and seating space, even on weekends when other coffeehouses are crowded. Parking is a big plus. Their kitchen hours are a bit hard to digest but otherwise a good place to have coffee (and study)
Tasty menu, have maybe a homelesss people problem. Other than that.. Love the minimalist design of the building and venue. Some nice unique tea options too.
I just moved from Washington state to Texas. And despite being in Houston.... This place made me feel right back at home. Quiet, cool employees, and great food.
Very interesting little coffee shop. The vibe is cool to sit and chill a bit. Their coffee is legitcoffee dates ☕️
This is one of my favorite local coffee shops. They offer the standard coffee options, but they also have a nice food menu. Pricing is reasonable. The space is warm and welcoming.
Its a cute little coffee shop underneath the highway. I came in on a not so busy day. The roast is made in house next door and the prices are moderate, nothing out of the ordinary. There are only outlets near the wall. The center tables are great for groups, but if youre sitting there to study, you might need to sit near the wall for the outlet.
Stumbled across this little place.houstons hidden gem. Best coffee of my USA 3 week trip so far and I only have 3 days left before going home.Friendly and awesome coffee with a selection of pastries. Not to be missed.
The fish and chips that I ordered was not bad but the latte had the perfect temperature and tastes great.
Food tasted great— I had the H-Town burger with sweet potato fries and enjoyed that. Good atmosphere too.
Always a great variety of fresh home cooked food and excellent service
Decent coffee and food, but consistently bad service. Not only the hipster young lady as other reviewer alluded to. I went 3 times and have never seen anybody who seem to enjoy working there.
Great vibe and service. Off the beaten path. Good place to do work. Plus, the menu has a range of delicious options.
Great food and service. I only drink dark black coffee and theirs wasn’t great. But lunch (chicken strips) made up for it.
The barista is very good in making different toppings. The staff is very friendly.
Recent renovation has yielded more seating and good food. Coffee is consistent and delicious. Give this hide out a try. Blue door on back side of Ecclesia church. Indoor and outdoor seating. More offerings on menu, too. Great staff. Always happy to be here.
Unique location. Friendly staff. Large tables. Always enough tables. Great natural lightning. Just love it!
Their coffee is excellent! Tastes amazing.
Nice, neat and tidy. Easily accessible and lots of space to work remotely. Enjoyed the white mocha and croissant I got albeit the tepid temp of the mocha.
Great place to play on wifi and drink coffee
Good food they have a common meal they only charged a dollar
I stop here for coffee every Sunday morning before church and love it! The seasonal apple spice latte they have right now is delicious.
Smooth espresso, reasonable prices, comfortable seating, and working WiFi. I would recommend to any friend. Took my special lady for a cup of coffee here and we ended up taking pictures by the graffiti wall next door. Great place for a date!
Everything was very fresh and tasty.. Plenty of parking and the staff is very nice...
It a fun place but they just need to replace a red hair security lady who didnt brother helping me. I trying to look up her department and send a complaint for unprofessional.
I love going here. The staff was very friendly and kind. Bring your hunger - portions are generous.
Its connected to a church. The people are friendly. The coffee is alright, maybe I got the wrong thing. Its like a hole in the wall and not too commercialized, which I like.Make sure you sit outside to enjoy the Houston skyline!
Always the nicest people, and thats coming from a chef from another restaurant
The service was very welcoming and sociable. It has a good interior.
The place is very nice and breakfast was great.
Great out of the way hamburger s, especially during jury duty!
Got there about two, it was not packed. Ive had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. Prices are appropriate.
Very laid back yet high quality space. The Huevos Rancheros are excellent and the White Mocha was the best I’ve ever had!
