UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and understood my concerns and why I was upset with the charges. He reimbursed the disputed charge and apologized for the the situation. I have change my original rating to 4 stars because although there was some miscommunication, the fence was done well and I appreciated the owner stepping in to have the issue resolved.On August 24, 2021 I signed a contract with SouthLand Fence and Supply for a new 8’ tall horizontal fence located in our backyard. We paid them a total amount of 2791.54. This amount does not include and additional amount of $500 for them to start building the fence the wrong direction because of their lack of communication. On November 2, 2021 our neighbor informed us that he had a new gate put in, but had not paid for the gate. I contacted the office manager, Stephanie Pena at Southland Fence and she informed me that we paid for the neighbor’s gate. When we initially met with the estimator, we did not mention or ask that our neighbor’s gate be replaced. He added it onto the contract as an optional fee of $350.00. We did not opt into having this gate, however he included it in the final price with NO reference or cost breakdown with it included. The contract we signed is extremely misleading and hard to decipher what specific charges for. I have contacted the company to try and resolve the issue, but they are standing by their poorly written contract. The contract is clearly only written for internal purposes and not one that your average fence customer would understand and they do not have any follow up communication to ensure their jobs are done correctly.

Several bids on our fence and SFS did the job at a competitive level. Very happy with the end result and would highly recommend them. Also recommend the stain. You think it looks good after the install, wait till they stain it. Not from a pump spray bottle, they come out and spray it on (2 coats) with a power (paint-type) sprayer.

Great company. Quoted me 1.5 to 2 days to put up the 8 foot privacy fence, but they put up the whole thing in a single day. Fence looks great. Price was very reasonable; among the lowest bids I received.

Wonderful experience with Southland Fence & Supply from the sales person, Buck Wilke, to the office manager, Stephanie Pena. They did a great job constructing the new fence and cleaned the yard up after. Thank you Southland.

I needed a new wood fence in my backyard so I got three quotes from different wood fence contractors, but Southland Fence came back with a reasonable price. Everything was handled very professionally from the sales representative that came out to bid the job and the project manager who helped make sure the fence would be exactly how I wanted. Even the crew that built the fence were friendly and had high attention to detail. The staff was always quick to respond to my questions and were always helpful. My fence turned out better than I expected and is very sturdy. Job well done from start to finish. I would use these guys again and refer them to my friends and family.

Southland replaced the cedar pickets and a few posts that needed it. The estimate was spot on; the crew was efficient and completed the work in one day! Excellent customer service and professional in their dealings. The new fence looks great! Highly recommended!!!

Southland did a fantastic job. They were prompt, professional, efficient and communicated any possible issues quickly. The guys were organized and left no mess behind. Im very pleased with my fence and will definitely use them and recommend them for anyones fencing needs!

Everything was done professionally and in a timely manner. Both prices and estimated start and completion dates were better than three other firms, one of which never bothered to even provide an estimate. Southland Fence cared about having me as a customer; the others had more of a take-it-or-leave it attitude. This is the second time Ive used Southland Fence and would recommend them to anyone.

This company needs to really update their website. Not everyone they have on their website works there or really had been working there. Also, not very responsive. Lack of attention.

Southland Fence recently installed a modern horizontal wood fence for our house, and we couldnt be happier with the fence and the service. We had an unusual fence design in mind and they pulled it off flawlessly. The crew was extremely professional and our fence looks beautiful! We very highly recommend Southland Fence!

With all the great reviews I read for this fence company, I was confident I would receive quality work. Unfortunately I did not. I had two wooden posts that needed to be replaced for my fence gate. To save money he suggested that we just put one new metal post between the 2 broken ones. He was going to leave the metal post sticking up over the fence, so I had to ask for it to be cut down. While that is keeping that section of the fence up, something happened where the gate no longer latches. When I called I was told it was because someone opened the fence and didnt close it before the concrete cured. I waited 2 weeks before calling again and was told the gate didnt latch before they did the work. Which is completely untrue. Now I have to find someone to fix the gate. I am not at all happy with the work or the customer service.

Knowledgeable staff and great customer service

Our fence was put up beautifully. However, it is 6 months old and one of the gates has settled, so that the hardware doesnt fit to shut/lock it. I have called several times - twice I left a message with no call back, and once I connected with someone who took my name and promised to send someone out within 48 hours, but no one showed up. I am very discouraged and am hesitating to recommend Southland to friends/neighbors who are considering fence jobs in our 25 year old neighborhood. The fence is warranteed for a year but I am starting to think Southland doesnt stand behind its work. Very disappointed.

I contracted several local fencing companies for a quote on a 7 foot tall horizontal fence. Southland came out as the best price and used the highest standards when building. It took roughly a day and a half to take down an old fence and erect the new fence for our back yard. I was very happy with the experience, from the work crew to front office. They took what I (and more importantly, my wife) wanted and helped create a beautiful back yard. I have already told my family/friends if they ever need fence work to contact Southland Fence!-As an aside, my neighbors put up a fence (they were trying to match ours) from a competitor who was about $100s cheaper. The fence and the posts were cemented in crooked, and the posts were not deep enough because the workers couldnt handle roots. Im worried for his fence the next time a big storm comes though!

Sales guy Buck was great during the initial consultation. Went down hill from there.-Conflicting information about making down payment-Not forthcoming with warranty info...had to ask for it-Told it would be three weeks and given a install date-Repeatedly rescheduled install appt (at least 6 times) due to materials not in from manufacturer or crew calling in sick. No prior notice of reschedule...so I planned my day around them six times and six times they were a no-show.-installers took 7 1/2 hours to install a 27 ft fence and repeatedly had to move posts because they measured wrong. Seemed inexperienced-had to have the head of the installation dept come out and inspect the fence because it was so rickety and the installers bolted it to my wood expansion joints instead of the concrete.-told they would come out Saturday to fix the fence and instead a crew showed up on Friday while we were gone and removed the fence with no explanation of when it would be brought back and installed or why they took it.-and of course no one is answering their phones or emailsWish I had seen these reviews...I would not ever recommend this company to anyone. And I will not ever do business with them again.

Great fencers, if that is a word.

I used to go to South land for materials but after having the misfortune of meeting Buck I will not do business here again. Further more i will request any of my sub-contractors not use them.

Customer relations is horrible Ill never do business with these guys again.
