I went to the store to compare instruments since I was looking to buy a piano. Will V. gave outstanding advice - he knew everything there is to know about every instrument and gave me plenty of time and space to try them out. He is a musician himself and I had a fantastic time chatting to him and Im excited about my new piano!
I stumbled here while looking for a music store. An amazingly large collection of Yamaha Acoustic Grand and Upright Pianos at this location! Friendly staff.
Fantastic experience with the sales staff at Fort Bend Music Center. I worked with Mark Dvorak over the course of several years and he was always warm, kind, and very knowledgable about the pianos. I ended up with a Seiler SE 208, which is an extraordinary German-made piano. For several years, I had my mind set on either a Shigeru Kawai or a Schimmel, but after hearing this piano one time, I knew it was the greatest piano Id ever touched. Other pianos I played were either too bright/clear or too dark/muddy for my taste. This Seiler has the absolute perfect combination of clarity and warmth and is truly just an astounding work of art and craftsmanship. The clarity allows pieces such as a Bach fugue or a Mozart sonata to shine while at the same time the warmth lends itself perfectly to the dreamy atmosphere of a Chopin nocturne or a Schubert impromptu. If youre in the market for a piano, you MUST visit this store.
I am very disappointed in their service. We had them move a player piano for us and after the move, the foot pedals did not work and the player piano was not set up. We called for service again, and it took multiple calls for the service department to call us. The technician finally showed up and got everything working. After several weeks, the player piano stopped working again. We have called several times again to try to get support. We left messages asking to get the player working again in time for Christmas. We have left messages, both on their answering machine and with live folks, asking for a returned call as we wanted the player fixed in time for Christmas. We have still yet to even receive a returned call. Very disappointing....
Very knowledgale and patient people, they were a great help for us with our first family piano. 100% recommended.
I was in the market for a piano and visited Fort Bend Musics piano showroom. I found one I liked a lot but since this was the first place I visited, I still needed to look around and consider all of my options. Mark, my salesman was extremely helpful, offering comparative information about other models I was considering both new and used, and keeping me updated on deliveries to the store that might interest me. He gave me an excellent price on the new piano I was considering. In the end I decided to buy a used piano from another seller, but Mark and Fort Bend were great to work with. I highly recommend visiting their showroom if you are considering a piano purchase.
We really love the excellent musical education my daughter is receiving at Fort Bend. The teachers are professional and engaging and very student oriented. My daughter has taken lessons at Fort Bend for almost 2 years as a piano student. The entire staff is responsive and attentive to student and parent needs. My daughters favorite time is recital time. There are spring and winter recitals where the students can showcase their work musically. Fort Bend is the go-to music center if you want a world class musical education.
We remained in contact with Will Velasquez after our very first visit at Fort Bend Music Center three years ago. He called us about a Major Sale going on last year and we ended up buying a Yamaha Player Piano. We love it and it works great with our house and for the family. Look forward to listening to it for many years to come. Thanks again Will!!Sincerely,The Bruno Family (Matt, Bo and Luke Bruno)Montgomery, TX
Alex at Fort Bend Music Center helped me find our piano for our home. Alex was wonderful to work with; he listened to what I was looking for in a piano for my family with young children and patiently went through explaining each kind of piano and recommended ones that would be most suitable for my needs. On a second visit I brought my mother with me to help look at the pianos and Alex did a great job explaining everything to her too. It is easy to see that not only is Alex extremely knowledgable but also does an amazing job working with the customer. I had such a pleasant experience buying from Fort Bend Music Center and Alex and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a piano!
Hi! I’ve came to this place to look for a new piano since my old one has a problem. The worker that assisted me was very friendly. I was just wondering if you guys repair keyboards that weren’t bought from your store? Since I have a keyboard that is a few years old and it turns on and works fine but no sound comes out of it. If you guys can help with this please let me know since I can’t afford a new keyboard and school is coming up and I’ll need it! :(
My sons piano teacher, Ahmed Yaqot, has been great to work with. He is very patient and kindly encourages my son to keep up with his homework and practice. He has taught him very well and I am impressed with the growth that my son shows each week. He definitely inspires my son to keep learning and practicing his music. I highly recommend him and the enthusiastic team at Ft. Bend Music Center.
I have had a great experience as an adult student at Ft. Bend Music Center, specifically with Mr.Ahmed Yaqot, piano teacher. He is excellent. His demeanor is calm. His musical knowledge is broad. He has that ever important sense of humor.I went to Ft. Bend Music with some knowledge of the piano on the recommendation of a friend. I have a piano at home but hadnt played regularly for several years . I have had 3 other teachers as an adult and stopped for various reasons. I work full time.Mr. Ahmed took this in stride, addressing my musical strengths and weaknesses in a completely non judgmental way over the past year of weekly lessons . He has brought piano back to me. I highly recommend him
Your guitar salesman blew the sale. I was ready to purchase the Yamaha guitar for my husband for his birthday, but the salesman began making false assumptions about my husband, attempting to manipulating the sale. The salesman assumed my husband liked the same kind of music as he does: old school, when actually my husband likes all music, including todays top 40: pop, hip hop, etc. The salesman also assumed we hate metal; working for a music center and hating certain music genres just comes across badly as an arrogant music snob. And he assumed that because my husband is a senior citizen and works 3 days a week, that he is retired, or semi-retired. Wrong again! My husband is an RN who works full time at a Houston hospital.Trying to find common ground in order to make a sale failed badly. Putting down our preferences (without asking what we liked) didnt help either. It would have been nice if, when I told him that my husband was a great singer, if the salesman had asked something - anything - about that. He obviously didnt really care anything about us, just the sale.We dont want to assume the salesman is burned out, or needing to retire himself. Perhaps management can step in and change these sleazy sales tactics.
I have known the owners for years and they are people you can trust. They have the best products in all lines of musical instruments including the fabulous Yamaha piano line. Everything you need from delivery, repair, lessons, great selection, and sales staff with more years of experience than you can believe. This place is by far the best and most experienced music dealer in the Houston area. With two excellent locations (one between Buffalo and Kirby) and one in Stafford, you cant afford to not check out Fort Bend Music.
Will Velasquez, the consultant who sold me my piano, is very knowledgeable and was able to quickly direct me to a piano that fit my needs. He is also very attentive to any concerns I have had and has assisted in a timely manner. That said, every time I have tried to contact the service center for a piano tuning/fix, I have NEVER received a reply and have had to contact Will or one of his colleagues to escalate the issue. I would strongly suggest scheduling the complimentary tuning in store as soon as you buy the instrument.
David Sheppard worked on my saxophone and was friendly, professional, and prompt. I have had my sax worked on by many people across the United States and can say that David is one of the best and he is extremely knowledgeable in many other instruments as well. I highly recommend others to bring their horn in for a check up!
Its a great place. My daughter is gaining confidence because her teacher Emilie allows them to create and play around music but strict when its time to work on music. The entire hour the kids are there they play music. I see slow and steady progress but most importantly my 5 years old is still excited about going to class even after a year of going there once a week! I highly recommend them.
I take drum lessons from Jason and he is a great teacher. Learning drums has been on my bucket list, so it is great fun to learn and play in front of a live audience at the occasional recital.
Vlad 2207. Incredible instructors, staff and facility. My son has been going there since we moved here in November and has grown so much as a musician. The gift of music to children is truly priceless.
I cannot recommend Fort Bend Music Center more highly. I came in to purchase a piano for my church and the entire experience was wonderful. Will, the salesperson, understood exactly what I needed and went the extra mile to make it a reality. I couldnt believe that they were willing and able to deliver the piano to my church (100 miles away!) in just three short days. Fort Bend Music Center is fantastic.(edited: my original review said most highly instead of more highly, which was very misleading. Corrected.)
I recently purchased a Yamaha digital grand piano for our church from Alex Pauwels. I just told him what our needs were and he sent me product information along with a quote. The piano he recommended fit our needs perfectly and the price was less than I expected. We set up a delivery time and a couple days later it was delivered and installed.Smoothest transaction ever... I never left my office chair! Alex was very professional, knowledgeable and very easy to deal with. Thank you!!!
We purchased our Yamaha b3 piano withWill Velasquez at their location near greenway plaza. It was a very pleasant experience. Will is very knowledgeable about piano as well as guitar. He walked us through various types of pianos and we finally chose the one for us. The delivery was fast and professional too. I will suggest to schedule for the second tuning session when buying since we faced some difficulties in scheduling afterward.
My daughters have been taking piano lessons at Fort Bend Music Center for the past 4 years. They had great instructors even when they where in group lessons. Now that they are doing private lessons it even better. You can see a lot of improvement with private lessons.I would definitely recommend the center for anyone at any age who aspires to learn music of any kind!
My son started learning viola from January.Joined mariachi band at school and playing violin. I am very happy the way teacher is helping him. I will highly recommend fort bend music center.
A good honest company to deal with. Mark Dvorak is extremely helpful and the company delivers what they say they will in a competitive manner. We visited others Paino suppliers first, but as novices, were subject to confusion selling. We did not experience this with Fort BEND. We would have no hesitation in returning or recommending to others. Gordon W.
I had a great experience with Fort Bend Music Center. Salesman Mark Dvorak was extremely helpful, patient, and friendly. He made sure I got the right piano for my kids. Thank you, Mark - we love it!
Houston is lucky to have such a lovely music center! Its intimate hall is the most welcoming even to the uninitiated audience members. Staff there, especially Craig, understand the importance of music to its community, and encourage and support their musicians of all levels who come to their center.
My daughter took piano lessons at Fort Bend Music Center for 9 years. She had wonderful instructors who helped her become the competent pianist she is today. I would definitely recommend the center for anyone at any age who aspires to learn music of any kind!
Mr. Craig Latson, Fort Bend Music Center, of the 3133 Southwest Fwy, Houston, TX 77098 location, assisted our family when we sought to buy a nice piano for our two piano-playing children. Craig’s years’ experience and many talents, including a fabulous jazz pianist, gave us confidence the piano he recommended would fit our needs for years to come. Craig manages the extensive lessons department, a huge undertaking, and though difficulties can arise with this number of teachers and students, I trust Craig to always be fair to everyone involved, building better friendships.
It is perfect place to learn about playing the piano.Their staff is so nice and very kind. We can practice here whenever my children want to play the piano.Piano teacher is great. So My children are loving it here.
I am a professional clarinetist and have performed many recitals in the concert halls at the Fort Bend Music Center on both Kirby and Sugar Land locations. They have beautiful pianos in their halls and the size of the halls are perfect for intimate concerts! The manager Craig Latson was always friendly and willing to work with us so that we can proceed our events as smooth and successful as possible. Later, I became a private instructor at their store. Staff are nice and helpful for both students and teachers. Other instructors I met were great musicians and students seem to enjoy their lessons. Unfortunately, I had to quit as I moved to NY. But I miss them and will recommend them if youve got any music needs!
My daughter loves her beautiful new Yamaha 52 upright piano! I think it will take her to another level in her playing. Fort Bend Music has two locations, on Buffalo Speedway and also in Stafford for convenience, with excellent and knowledgeable staff who love music and the instruments they sell. Alex Pauwels is great!
Mark Dvorak is a knowledgable, honest, and caring piano sales professional. He and the owner were very patient and helpful with me as I endeavored to make my decision on a piano. If you are looking for a great piano and want someone who is going to be helpful to you with good follow up, then Fort Bend Music Center is where you need to go.
I was recommended to this music center and was impressed. My girls love it there and their teacher miss Michelle is very patient and encouraging. I would highly suggest you sign up today!!
Ive dealt with Alex and other employees over a period of years on multiple piano purchases and they have been wonderful! He is knowledgeable, offers several options that fulfill what we are looking for, at a variety of prices, and excellent service after the sale. Highly recommended.
Our sales representative, Mark Dvorak, was very nice and answered all of our questions. We were very pleased with the service we received from him!Carol and Walt Grunden
Our experience here was great. Alex helped us around in buying our piano and was very professional and polite. We were able to get a piano of our liking for a great price.
Horrible experience with piano storage. Unbelievably dirty, as if they left in their backyard. Absolutely incredulous at the condition in which they returned the piano. Insult to injury: horrible attitude about it, no shame and of course no offer to make it right Never again.
I highly recommend Fort Bend Music Center to any parent that wants his/her child to learn music in both a caring and professional environment. All my kids have been attending the school for about 1 year and we have absolutely no complaints.
I had a great experience buying an electric piano here. Will Velasquez assisted me and was also available after the sale to talk me through the delivery process or questions I had after delivery, which I really appreciated.
A fantastic place to buy, rent and learn the piano. You will surely get your moneys worth
Great place for your musical needs. Alex and Marc will take good care of you when it comes to buying a piano:)As a piano teacher in Houston, they rent me their stage to host piano recitals.
Awesome staff! I been taking classes over there for couple months and now I am able to play classical music! Please ask for Ms Kaori she is the best teacher ever!
Thank you Will for your awesome service! We love our piano. Fort Bend Music Center is the best place to buy your piano.
We had Mr. Craig Latson as a piano teacher for our whole family. Wonderful music teacher for all levels - kids, teenagers, adults! Would highly recommend.
Good experience. Love it. Really help you and guide you through everything - to help you start.Great staff. Recommended +++
Such a place of joy to learn from and start my piano lessons. I would recommend them to anyone from beginning level to expert🤗 so excited to start my lessons😊
Alex was great is helping us pick the perfect piano for us within our budget. I highly recommend him and the facility !
Ms. Michelle is an excellent teacher who instill solid piano fundamentals. She challenges my kids and make them better students.
Alex Pauwels was incredibly helpful after we lost our piano in Harvey. He helped us evaluate the trade-offs between repairing the flooded piano and buying a new equivalent model. He also provided all the necessary paperwork to satisfy our flood insurance claim. Fort Bend Music allowed us to keep the new piano at the showroom until our renovations were completed. This was one of the bright spots in our whole recovery process. Thanks to Fort Bend Music and Alex Pauwels!
Good place to take music. People are friendly and very accommodating. Daughter likes her instructor and his style of teaching.
Top of the line pianos. Experienced staff who are patient and very knowledgeable in answering questions. A pleasure to do business with.
Came in to try out a bosendorfer piano, best piano Ive ever touched, and was attended to by Mr. Mark Dvorak. Mr. Mark was very professional and an absolute delight to talk to and get to know a little bit. If your looking for a music store that treats you like a friend and not just some potential money then Fort Bend Music Center is the place you want to go. Ask for Mr. Mark, he really trys to make sure that your entire experience is plesant, he even remembered my sons name well after we had met for such a brief period of time. I cant stress enough how refreshing it was to be treated with such a high level of respect. Ive been studying the piano for 14 years and have been to a number of different music stores throughout the years and Fort Bend Music Center really stands out in my mind. Thanks for everything guys and gals!

Got a good deal on a keyboard. Thanks Dave!!!
Mostly a piano showroom but even at that, the staff arent just salespeople, theyre musicians.I wish I was in the market for a piano!
Fantastic place to shop! The quality is good, the prices are good, and the customer service is great!
I wanted a piano but didnt know how to shop for one. Everyone there made it easy.
I lost my piano in the flood of Harvey. My kids piano teacher told me to go to fort bend music center and look for Mr. Alex Pauwels. I went there and Mr. Alex Pauwels assisted me. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and no pressure to customer. I bought my yamaha upright piano at the same day and my kids love it. Thank you again Mr. Alex Pauwels!
Michelle is an awesome teacher, makes piano fun for my child.
The experience I had with Fort Bend Music Center was a pleasant one, they were patient, kind, friendly, and very understanding. I LOVE doing business with them.
One star was given to the yamaha brand. We purchased a yamaha U1 last June from Fort Bend Music Center. This summer we moved from Houston to College Station, 90 miles away. We hired a very good mover to move our piano, great protection and careful handling. We watched the whole moving process by our eyes, no dropping, no bumping, nothing happened to damage the piano. The tuner came to adjust the piano in September and told us the piano has some problem and really need a technical to check it. We called yamaha and spoke to their manager, Rick, at least 3 times to ask for a technician to check because the piano is still under its 10 years warranty. Eventually today, the yamaha technician came. After open the piano, take apart, he told us the main aluminum rail is bended due to moving. He reported to Rick and told us to contact the mover to pay for the repair. He agreed no outside damage but only the inside 5 mm think aluminum rail bent during moving. How could this magic happen?!After checked with another technicians, we understand it is a common adjustment after the piano was delivered from the manufacture to the dealer. Yamaha paid several hundreds dollars for each piano to the dealer to do this work. But apparently, Fort Bend Music Center took the money but did to do their work before handing the piano to us. They just want to sell the piano and make money. They dont want to take responsibility of their own.We will never buy pianos from this dealer. We would never recommend this dealer to any piano buyers.
Mark is courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. I’d never buy a piano except through him
Great customer service, reasonable pricing.
Happy with teaching method and latest technology...
Great, knowledgable people, very happy with their service.
Very good experience with Will at FBMC.
I like it. The teacher and the staff are nice.
Will was excellent in explaining the piano
