My question is can I buy a firearm to have in my home? I dont have a LLC or any of those things Im not looking to carry it anywhere but only to have it for protection of my home, I just have a clean background my identification & funds to purchase, Ive never owned a firearm in my life

First off I would like to start by saying that I am not a paid review writer. I am a local enthusiast, hunter and regular human being. I have been to hundreds of stores and have been exposed to the good and bad of the so called gun store community treatment. I would like to say that Guns of Texas is a fantastic business with great people! I owe them nothing but my gratitude for the treatment and diligence I received while doing business with them. They are all truly great guys with great personalities and knowledge bases. Jason is the MAN! He is the manager I believe so he is a busy man; but that never stopped him from going out of his way to help me with my questions and requests. Ive been there a few times when Andrew helped me and he is a super cool Kat with maximum patience. When I was looking for a rifle I had a list of questions and he literally sat there and knocked them down one by one with engaging conversation! While we were talking, someone came to the store with his lunch; and I told him that I would come by later so he could enjoy his meal in peace but he refused and kept talking with an appreciation of our conversation! That is something to be acknowledged! Especially when you consider the reputation of MOST gun stores. This place is awesome and I am truly grateful that its located near me. Another great experience with these gentlemen, as on this visit I was making a first time purchase for my wife. With minimal knowledge on her visit, Jason and the crew did what they could to make the Mrs. feel as comfy as possible while she was there. Couple that with the fact that I had questions about accessories for a transfer rifle that Im having shipped there. All questions answered. All details addressed. Reading through these reviews just speak volumes about this group. We all have good days and bad however my experience is right in line with most everyone else’s. Staff was knowledgeable but more importantly, they were just down to earth and there’s no arrogance to speak of like others like myself may have experienced elsewhere. I will drive from The Woodlands to do business with them and will call them before I make an online purchase. Thank you Jason for the outstanding support in gun buying.

Truly a great gun store. Jason helped me find the right pistol for me, I sort of knew what I had in mind but he helped narrow it down and ended up getting a Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 9mm. Truly am happy with the purchase and I’ll definitely be back for more.

Great shop! Jason and Andrew are both very professional. They take care of their customers, have great prices and if they don’t have what your looking for they can get it in a timely manner. The Silencer Shop Kiosk is a huge plus for NFA items.

Don’t visit this store, they sold me the gun with the price double in Academy store, think about that before come to this store.

Went in looking for clips for my AR, they didnt have the 10 round clips, guy told me he would order them and should have them the next day. Came back the next day was told the truck hasnt came in yet. Came in the next day and was told they didnt get ordered. Needed them for the weekend, ended up finding some @ Academy. Store was nice, dude in there seemed cool, just wish he would of told me they werent going to order them.

Everything was done as easily as it could be. Everything was taken care of before I was informed Ready for pickup. No increase in funds required, more information required, anything. Picture perfect.

Went into Guns of Texas today and didnt know that to expect. Stopped just because I loved the name of the store. Great experience and will definitely go back. Even though I wasnt buying, I was treated as a paying customer. All my questions were answered and I was given full attention. Now that being said, I have found my gun store. My Wife and I set out today to find her a handgun that would be comfortable for the range and enough stopping power for home defense. We checked out 6 stores today starting wity Guns of Texas. After going to every store we came back to Guns of Texas. It was really the only store where we felt we were in a legitimate retail establishment. The store feels very welcoming and that Staff was amazing explaining the ins and out of each pistol and the whys and why nots without it feeling pushy or like we were at a used car dealership like some of the other shops we stopped in.Long story short, great selection, great service, knowledgeable staff! Very knowledgeable about firearms. Bought my 1st silencer here for a killer price. Victoria not only helped me with paperwork on silencer but also form 1 for my SBR. She took her time on the paperwork to avoid anydelay on the process. My stamp came in 6 and 1/2 month. Big sound out to Victoria and the Guns of Texas team. I will be back for more.

All i can say is WOW!!! me and my father were driving around the other day and we just happened upon this shop and i am so glad i did we walked, started to browse around the store just looking at what they had and out of nowhere one of the employees comes up and shakes my hand introduced himself and we just started talking like we were old friends the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, but not in the know it all way we ended up buying one of their shirts with an awesome design and i plan on returning to get my first AR ...when my income check comes in lol

Their selection is limited but in the land of gun shows every week, your perspective changes a bit. These guys are quite knowledgeable and can usually get their hands on whatever you want. Also, their FFL transfer fees are quite reasonable.

Ive been here twice. First time I came was because I was referred to them from a different gun shop that didnt carry suppressors. Was in the market for one and wanted more information on how to do all of the paper work. Talked with a really nice guy (long curly blonde hair) and he gave us all the information of purchasing a suppressor. Even gave my friend and I some Guns of Texas beer koozies as we walked out. So next week came around I decided to bite the bullet and wanted a Omega from Silencerco, drove back to Guns of Texas. Got there and some other guy was there, some big tall stalky guy. He didnt say a damn word to me. Just looked at me like I was crazy. I felt very unwelcomed. I didnt even want to try to make a purchase after that so I walked out. Didnt even say anything as I walked out. So I made my purchase through Silencershop online instead. If youre in the market for a suppressor I would highly recommend purchasing online through Silencershop. I would not recommend this gun shop to anyone. Save your time and shop somewhere else that is a bit more welcoming/friendly.

My wife purchased my Kel-Tec KSG 12 Gauge Shotgun from these guys! Theyre very down to Earth and knowledgeable! Ill always be a loyal customer here!

I couldnt believe the other review saying that this people are racist with Mexicans. Im a latino and I tried to do a transfer with them, but they said they couldnt receive my frame to be sent to another dealer because internet was gone... Cheap excuse!!
