I walked in & found an employee to ask if they had a certain comic. As the guy continued to work, he told me that he didnt think he had was I was looking for but that we could probably order it. I said ok & he walked off. I thought he was going to come back & assist me further or maybe just explain how I could go about ordering what I needed. But, he did not come back & proceeded to stock the shelf as he was doing before. I gotta say he wasnt very helpful & it didnt seem like anyone else was going to help me so I just walked out. I guess Ill just order what I need online or try another comic book store.
Very rude and lazy customer service! I came to buy/sell magic cards and immediately the clerk rudely barked to go online and look at the buy list... I was going to ask if he had the list AT THE STORE but I could he didnt want to even do his job and actually interact with people hed rather sit on his phone! Great way to deter customers by cutting them off with go to our online website.... when I took my time and gas to actually go to the brick and mortar store. The place was dead anyway and the clerk was not busy with any customers. If I could give zero stars i would! Never going to DNA again! Go to Bedrock Comics
Rude staff of curmudgeons. Not sure why they run a business since they clearly dont want any. Literally any comic/magic shop is better than this place. 👎👎
The staff here is unfriendly. Especially the day guy dont expect to be greeted or acknowledged it would interrupt his reading. They have a good selection of cards, collectibles, and new books. There is also a good catalog of older books although you may never find what you are looking for. Older books are so disorganized you cant find anything. Some of the boxes are labeled but if you look inside you will almost definitely not find what you are looking for. Better to grab a random box and search, odds are the same youll find it. Just seems like if you had that much inventory youd probably like to be able to move it and make money. Seems like if the staff has time to sit and read or play on their phones they would have time to help customers and organize the store. In conclusion if you want a new book and just dont want to drive stop in but give them a little time after opening so they can sort and put out books or youll have to wait and whatever you do dont inconvenience whoever is working by asking a question. If you want good service, older books, and new books at opening on release day go ahead and make the drive to another shop you wont regret it.
Got everything I was looking for, so Im happy. Was very helpful with information also. Will definitely be back again.
A good place to go to get comics & game cards like Pokemon
Great card playing spot (be Magic the Gathering, Pokémon YugiOh etc) Quaint shop with good customer service
A good card store, decent selection of comics and cards across what you can find out and about. It has more than just your usual big three card games (Yu-Gi-Oh, MTG, and Pokémon) I saw some final fantasy cards, and some that Ive never heard of and cant quite remember the names of.
Good place for a quick run and get comics.
Its great, it has lots of comics and figures, the only thing is it will have them from book 4, but no 1 or 2, and its kinda hard to find what I want. Other than that its amazing and Ive gone a few times 👍
A great place to hangout to browse, play, read, and compete others. The have cards, gunpla, comic, manga, figures, and plushies for all. And on rare occasions you can join up for competitions.
The guy said hed buy my comics so i drove 12 miles to bring them for the guys with glasses to tell me that he wont take them very unfriendly and kinda unprofessional more interested in what he was reading . I dont recommend to come here
I wish customers didnt over buy boxes of yugioh. Casual buyers show up and they cant buy any, because the buyer before bought 10 boxes. No hate. But think of others.STAFF is nicePlace is niceOpen place to dual with others.Lots of collectibles
Great store, even better service. Awesome selection..
Not quite as good as they used to be but still a good place for comics.
Great place to pick up comic books and memorable!
No much Yu-Gi-Oh but the people were cool
Love this place. Comics, trading cards, and games!
Has a variety of comics an model figures to choose, definitely worth checking out
Very nice store. Decent selection of back issues and new stuff.
I had a great time always a great place to go
DNA comics lets just experience the best sought after books of all time and ki k back and relax in the most saught after deliliquency of all time
Love this place, been my got to spot for years. Awesome staff.
Not a large selection of back issues, but if you take the initiative to ask for assistance rather than expect it as with most businesses, or a greeting, then you may find some.
Still trying to find out how to creAte a buylist for them
The guys are extremely reserved but I attribute that to being nerds and comic oriented people but they are NOT rude. They are verrrry knowledgeable about any questions I have (not a comic gal at all). We go to play cards Monday nights with my boys and man, do they need a strong deodorizer. Also, PLEASE clean the bathrooms.
Been going here for 2 weeks now and loving this store... Its really a board game store but have a great selection of brand new comics and old. Dont know his name but opens the store every morning and he is very nice and outgoing.
The guy behind the counter seemed more I retested in opening yugioh packs than helping out customers. Very low energy and reserved energy like he just didn’t want to be there and was forced.... hope it gets better last time i come here for sure.
Great place to get comic books and much more.
My daughter and I used to come here to buy Pokemon cards here all the time. Id always ignore the fact that our presence always seemed to be an inconvenience to whoever was working the counter so long as we could browse the Pokemon Singles in peace. A few months ago we went back to shop when we noticed that the only singles they offered on the counter were Yugioh cards. Tons of them but no more Pokemon. I looked over the counter to see boxes labeled Pokemon and asked the sales clerk if we could take a look. He told me that they dont do that anymore and if I wanted to see them I had to see them on their website. Very convenient. I eventually go to the website because no other local shop offer Pokemon singles. I create a wish list and a buy list of cards that the shop has listed that they will purchase in exchange for store credit. Mind you i live just a few miles away and Im sure it wouldnt be impossible to do this over the counter. I email my list of what I have to offer and the shop responds a little over a week later. They approved my buy list just in time for me to leave for work. A few days go by and I email back asking if I can just drop the cards off. I told that my buy list has been canceled due to untimely delivery. Are you serious? This place is a joke. We gave this place a chance even though it was gonna be extremely inconvenient and they still let us down. I highly recommend you look elsewhere.
Great shop they have alot of card games to buy only reason I didnt give it 5 stars sometimes they get busy and cant get to you fast but overall great store
Great selection and knowledgeable staff. Had exactly what we were looking for, and then some!
A typical Comic book store, with a little bit lower prices then some I have been to in the greater Houston area.
Love this place. Great selection. Staff is always helpful.
Great place to shop in peace! They have great selection of vintage comics, comic memorabilia, and trading cards.
It was kinda dead but the ac was on point
Friendly employees. Very good service. Definitely would recommend this place to hang out and play Pokemon, Yugioh and/or magic the gathering
Small mom and pop operation with some surprises in their selection. More of a gamer place than anything
Good variety very chill place
Staff is always helpful and great to talk to
As a comic artist and comic fan and a collector they have a lot of good stuff 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Cheap Yu GI Oh cards!
I used to come here frequently years ago when I lived in Houston, and it was always an enjoyable experience. I visited a few days ago for the first time in years, and I gotta say, something went wrong. While the store still had a decent variety of comics, toys, and other things, the service was non-existant. No one greeted my wife and I, and we were pretty much ignored the whole time we were there. There are better comic stores in Houston, in my opinion. Id pass on this place, unless they really step up the customer service game.
Poor customer service. Seemed like they did not want to engage the customer. Came to sell some of my old cards and scout out a potential place to play in the near future. I had never been to a game shop before and wanted to know how they treat new players. Based on what I saw, my card buyer was completely fake and dishonest. I came with the intention of supporting the game shop (YouTube convinced me of this), and did not mind selling my cards for less than what they are worth. But I knew exactly how much my cards are worth before coming, based on TCGplayer. I pretended to not know much and he took advantage of that, offering less than 20% of their value. I know I said I wanted to support the shop, and that is why I accepted the offer, but he did not have to call the cards worthless and tried to pretend my cards aren’t worth anything just to pay less for them. Needless to say I will not be returning here. I wouldn’t be surprised if he cheats, seems like a good liar.
The staff = trashThe prices= scalper pricesThe customer service = like you were nothing to themNever go here either go the shop around the corner or drive to the next card shop because nothing about this place is good
Visited this place with a friend because he wanted to get some comics. I loved the variety of comic books, posters and action figures. Im not much of a comic book reader these days, but Ive always like Marvel and it took me back to the days I did. Ill visit again and buy some things.
Really depends on whos working as to the service. You have to ask to be helped.
Great prices
Great comic and trading card shop. Theyve got a great selection of comics and memorabilia, and the people there are always helpful. Great place to hang out and play some card games with your friends.
Well I don’t really know I check at the products list and can’t find any Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards I am not looking for any specific cards but just want to know how much they have
Awesome store, great selection, and helpful staff :)
Nice friendly staff, very organized, has a great selection of comics and collectables
Good place to go look for collectibles. Just a warning tho. Not a single female in sight.
Good for card gaming and comic shopping
Theyve got a small selection of comics and sometimes not many to go around so it especially sucks if someone buys multiple copies of the same issue. Employees are pretty nice and the place is clean.
This place has a great selection of Harley Quinn books. Also I went to school with a guy who works here and hes super nice. He ended up taking me to the movies. About a month later we had sex. And now weve been together for about a year. Talk about great customer service. 😉
Great game shop ok customer service
Just got back into Yu-Gi-Oh! And I thought I would stop by and check out what they had here and the two guys working were not helpful at all. It seemed like they were avoiding me and when I finally got to talk to them they seemed disinterested in helping me so I decided to leave. I loved the place and everything they had but I have never had such a poor experience with workers before.
Great place for current release comics and cards not so great for funko pop and other misc. toy collectibles
Great place...Ive been going there for years. I even go back to when they were in the mall.
AWFUL!!! Th4 guy that works there is rude and was very dirty
What an awesome comic book store! This is where I get my subscriptions and its a joy coming in every week. The staff is super nice and I always check out the cheap back issues when I have a little extra cash. They have a wide selection of graphic novels as well. Great store overall!
Greta place to go play any major tcg. Weekly tournaments are so much fun if youre looking to play competitively or just have a good time.
Didn’t acknowledge me for the 4 or 5 minutes that I was in the store also isn’t very good looking layout wiseSecret stash in Redbank NJ was way better also the shops in NY are 10x better
Great selections, not just new comics-- they have a huge selection of $1 comics as well.
The staff is limited..like only one person... clients are super helpful!! I was looking for a starter comic and got great direction.
Being perfectly honest here, Ive never been when it wasnt almost at close so Ive never met the management or experienced customer service at peak hours. That being said, the variety of products seems limited due to the amount of open table space for trading card games and table top RPGs, so the store feels empty a lot of the time. Now, for my (probably very specific to me) complaints. First, they have a rather limited collection of the more valuable and hard to find Magic The Gathering cards, kind of expected actually. Second, The variety of dice for table top RPGs is a bit low, since they carry only 2-3 brands of dice. Lastly, I dont actually have 3 complaints, I just wanted to use the whole first secondly, and lastly thing.
Amazing hang-out and people -- tables of console video games, toys and cards. Great selection of new and back-issues, mainstream and indie titles. The staff are friendly and welcoming. What a comics shop SHOULD be. And YES they have Cathair Apocalypse!!
Great serve, and if you have any questions, about a product in the store they will do there best to help you our.
Very friendly shop, it was super unorganized but then the place began to clean up and now its a great place to get old and new books. Its only a 3 star because I had a subscription there and they consistently made mistakes. I would get books damaged (no biggie), I would get books that I canceled(like months after I canceled them) and I would special order statues and they would mark the statue up 40%.(claimed that every store did it). The staff is very cool and always had time to answer any questions.
Great Location, Friendly Knowledgeable Staff, Great Up To Date Selection
Its okay. Theres lots of comics to choose from prices are expected. Customer service said to say was fairly poor. When the cashier question about a deck of cards he just stared and didnt respond then repeated the question and got a one-word answer. Doesnt seem very beginner-friendly for someone whos starting a card game. My husband and I will just get our cards from some where else so we dont have to deal with rudeness.
Very unique comic store. They have a lot of merchandise and some items other stores dont have. Prices are always sensible, too. Sure the staff can be a little quick or sometimes unhelpful, but overall I really enjoy coming here every now and then.
For a comic shop, its not organized at all. I came in because I havent been in in a very long time, and wanted to add more to my collection. I go to the section with all the back issues. First thing I see is comics just out and all over the top part of the draws, even a few out of their sleeves. I then go through the draws, and that wasnt even properly organized. I was looking in the Ms section and all I kept finding were Ss and Hs. Even draws that were marked with a letter didnt even follow that. The $1 section was trashy looking. I understand that its a $1 section, but at least make it look presentable. Also, this place feels more like a card/board game shop than a comic shop. Made my fiance question why its called DNA COMICS, and not something like DNA GAMING. Id rather take a trip down to Bedrock than come back here
Was looking into getting into Magic and talked to the guy at the front, he helped me out as well as pointed me to someone else who could explain more about the game. Thanks guys!! Once I figure out what color I want to start with Ill be back.
Cashier there has no interest in helping, will just sit at a table and flip through books ignoring you. Used to go here for magic the gathering drafts but this place allows players to swap and buy cards from each other before tournament for stacked decks. Very unprofessional
Awesome place great Gundam selection!!!
Clean and plentiful. Wish they had more variety in comics
Great comic store with an awesome selection. They have it all! The guy at the front is always super nice too. He parts his hair like its the twenties, its fantastic. 😎👌🔥🌶
This is a fantastic spot to unleash your inner nerd. They have a great selection of comics, collectibles and many more! They host pokémon, yugioh, Magic and D&D local tournaments. The friendly atmosphere is always what they strive for here. They have definitely earned my business!
Nice little shop I browsed for 20 minutes but no employee was engaging
Amazing place to hang out and enjoy some quality hobby time
I take the kids all the time, They always treat us well and the staff know how to help you out on whatever topic interests you. There is always something to find for my kids that isnt too expensive. This is their favorite place to go get their rewards for getting Straight As on their report cards.
I go here every single week to pick up my weekly pull list and they always treat me well. I started shopping here after I moved to the area a few years ago. I take my comic collecting very seriously and wasnt sure if DNA would meet all of my needs. Carlos has gone above and beyond. He always does everything that he can to help me find the comics that Im looking for.My only advice would be for the employees to interact more with the walk-in customers and to tidy up the place a little.I like calling this place my home store. When I walk in there I feel like a VIP.
More than a comic store: tons of miniatures, toys, models and supporting tools. Something for the children as well as 40+ year old kids. Friendly staff directed me to unadvertised discounts. Will shop here on subsequent trips to town.
DNA Comics is probably one of the best comic book and card game store in Houston. The guy behind the counter Antonine is really honest and a good person. There is also this hilarious guy in a wheel chair.
Visited this store last week and got a cool charizard plushy and some cool Pokémon cards. I will be getting more in the near future! Thanks! -Dino Gamer TV
They have some neat stuff but its hard to get the guy behind the counters attention to help you. Especially when they have an activity (cards) going on. You have to be kind of aggressive. ;)
I have been a customer of DNA comics since they were located in Deerbrook mall. They always stay up to date with products, and they even import awesome hard to find Anime products. The customer service is simply Superb! Antoine and Alex are very knowledgeable and if they dont know something they always find out. Steve is a great guy and truly cares about his customers and their needs. I will continue to shop/play here and I highly recommend everyone check this place out!
A lot of variety. They probably have every card game out there. Good service. Would Definitely come back.
I didnt buy anything first off. Went in with my 14yo and she wasnt too impressed either. It seemed most of the available comics are marvel and dc. I miss my Groo the Wanderer and others from the 80s. Granted, I did not ask for help either, maybe they had them elsewhere and I didnt ask for help. But I remember comic book stores having larger selections of product and better organized.
Went twice and found some cards i needed for MTG. the workers there dont greet but are however, attentive.
Their card game sections is just AWESOME, Im a Weiss Schwarz playera and I have never before seen such a great collection in one store....The staff is attentive and kind. They even held two of my decks after I accidentally left them so I could pickup later! (They saved me over $100!) My friends and I will definitely go back next time we stop by Houston!
This store is SO unorganized!!! You cant find anything at all. They have tons of comic books but good luck finding anything! Comic books are just shoved everywhere. All out of order, and if you ask the staff for help, they cant even help you. SO FRUSTRATED!! !
Few numbers of customers usually come. Tho I know the staff sorta to a degree. Friendly atmosphere, FOW players Fridays are a must to go!
Pretty great for when want to get trading card supplies like sleeves, binders, deck boxes, and even booster packs. Plenty of space too to play with friends.
Lots of comics, cheap too. Find things you generally wouldnt find Im places like, think geek, game stop, ect. There was a group of guys there playing some sort of game. You can buy collectibles, various types of cards, comics (duh), action figures, pop figures, dice, plushies, statues (?), and alot more.
I picked up some independent books I was missing from the $1 bins and then I hit the regular backstock and found some nice variant books I was looking for. Overall it was a good treasure hunt and the staff was very friendly.
There are some nice people but there are people you have to watch out for but over all a nice place
