We have been waiting over six months for our order to arrive and still nothing. Staff and management can’t seem to tell us what is going on other than we are looking at an additional four months before complete. This is absurd given we have already paid for a product that should have been done by now. Had considered ordering other products at the time of first order but at this point may be better to just build it ourselves.UPDATE:CBI,let me begin with this post was not made by husband but rather myself. It was the direct result of poor customer service, lack of communication and failure to fulfill an agreed upon date of delivery. We ordered a bumper following the instructions of your company rep, Cameron, to which later your company admitted fault. Reason being it was a new style bumper and a miscommunication. We were told by your manager if the bumper did not arrive to contact your shop as it should arrive no later than 9/20/21. We have made attempts but no one seems to be able to provide an update. Our family is more than willing to give you a chance to rectify the situation. However given your reply it seems rather then make this right you rather bail. I personally would have hoped more from CBI and I still would hope CBI would have the respect and fortitude for it customers to make this right. We understand wait time; should you need more time, then fine, but have the respect to let your customers know and at least try sd do something to make it up to them.
Worst customer service ever. Called to get status on order and they have no idea what’s going on. Get sent wrong order over a month ago. Call to get status or correct order and told it’s another 4+ months though was told a month ago I would have received it by now. Been waiting over six months for order. This is ridiculous beyond any standards. I have left messages for owner to please call me. I highly doubt it will happen. I feel more staff will keep covering it up and order will appear after I have waited 10+ months. Was going to order a rear bumper but at this point, time to look at other companies.Update: thanks CBI for your rely. please know the bumper was ordered per your staffs instructions. To which your staff admitted fault and error. I be more than happy to provide the names of your staff given we recorded all these details. While I was happy they offered to correct the error and provided new date of guaranteed delivery. CBI failed to meet its promise, let alone cant provide an update. I have called your shop, twice, not to complain but to get an update to which no one at CBI seems to be able to provide. When I call the dealer they to state having difficulties getting a reply from CBI. More so I was even instructed by your staff, Kegan, to call when I did for an update if the bumper did not show. I would have hoped CBI would have some integrity, own its mistake and try and make it right rather than bail or try and blame a customer for following your staffs instruction to call for an update. To be unable to provide an update and just blame lead times is just bad business, given the lead times now are long than what is was when ordered. I am more than willing to give you a chance CBI to make it right, so why not prove it. Stand behind your product, let alone give a customer a call back and actually provide an update and not blow them off. If your product and customer is so great, prove it and I be happy to change my review. Additionally know the other review posted was not by me but my spouse to which she is entitled to leave a review.
Worst experience ever. I would never trust or do business with Cbi ever again. I have worked with them at a Toyota dealership in Utah and on two of my personal builds, they are a clown show of an off road fab shop. Dont ever trust lead times or anything anyone says over the phone. Absolutely disgusted by their handling of production. They are easily going to double the lead time I was given for this build. Who knows when the bumpers will actually be fabricated and delivered. I would suggest any other option possible. Avoid them at all cost...
Absolutely awful customer service and lead-times long beyond what’s advertised. I received no updates of my orders status over the 22+ weeks I was waiting and when my order did finally arrive I was only alerted a day before by the freight company that they would be delivering a package the next day. No tracking number or status update that the order shipped was ever received from CBI and my order is still showing as processing on their site. I would not do business with CBI again and recommend taking your hard earned money elsewhere.
This company does not care about its new or existing customers at all and will never change unless sales start dropping. Excuse after excuse after excuse. Please go with another maker, there are plenty out there making comparable products with owners and employees who actually deserve the sale and support.
Where do I start? Ordered a bumper and running boards in Aug 20. Was told 8 week lead time. Called end of October and was told in powdercoat. I waited another month and called back and was told they either lostbumper or accidentally sold it to someone else. Now we start over. Finally received bumper and running boards in March. Made 3 hour drive to install shop. They sent the wrong brackets for bumper and 2 right side running boards. Was told overnight shipping on brackets so at least we could get bumper on. I stayed an extra night. Brackets showed up 4 days later. I had to leave. Called another month later to see where correct running board was. I was told I would receive a call next morning. I have been on hold now 30 minutes and left 3 messages. Its been another month and nothing. So now we are 40 weeks into an 8 week estimate. This has been anything but pleasant. I feel every call will be another lie to get me off the phone. I just want my prodcts and be done. The quality is excellent the customer service is terrible. I cant imagine running a business where you have a customer on the hook for 40 weeks. Hard to make money that way.
Ok, so heres my experience with CBI. I ordered bed rails for my truck on May 7th. The day Im ordering them their lead time for bed rail shipment is 2 weeks. I can handle that. Well 2 weeks later I get an invoice and it has a ship date of August 7. That means 12 weeks not 2 weeks. So this starts my first of a few conversations with CBI. They tell me it should be sooner but thats the tentative date due to material shortage. 2 weeks after that they put the same bed rails on sale $100 cheaper than what I paid. They wont refund the difference or give me credit to another purchase. My only option is to cancel the order, re-buy, and get in the back of the line. I just decide to leave it alone. Finally my shipment shows up July 12 and Im missing 1 of the 4 tower supports for the rails. I call them and they tell me I have to lay it all out and take a picture of what I received and submit a claim on their website with the warranty department. My missing tower shows up on July 27. So it took another 2 weeks to get that in. BUT as far as quality of the rails, theyre are built well, the welds look great and fits like a glove. As great as the quality is, unfortunately this will be my one and only experience with CBI. My only guess is that regular people dont get the same treatment as large overland builders or large fan based YouTubers.
When I called CBI I put myself in their shoes. I realize this Covid 19 pandemic is making it almost impossible to obtain supplies. I talked to them with respect and asked for a order update. They answered all my questions and now Im receiving my order this month. We are all try to do the best we can with the situation we have been given. I think people need to realize these custom order take time. CBI is a local small business that makes great products. Sense CBI is made in America, it will take more time then a factory in China. Please keep in mind, Im a paying customer and im frustrated with the long wait times too, but we have to find a way to make the best out of every situation. CBI helped me with my concerns and I appreciate their team.
I just wanted some ditch light brackets. Site shows 1 week lead time. I placed the order. Waited. A couple weeks went by, no word. No worries. Wait another week. Send an email. No response. Wait another week and call. I paid with paypal and somehow the order didnt translate over to their system. What kind of dumb ERP system do you have that you dont double check if the paypal payments come through correctly to place the order. Anyway, sales guy said let me look into it and maybe I can get something out tomorrow. Get a call back the next day and itll be a couple more weeks. I cancelled. Havent received my refund yet but I did just cancel a couple of hours ago. Bad experience and probably wont be back considering there are plenty of other manufacturers to choose from.
I ordered decals from these guys about 2 months ago and they still never shipped them. Also the customer service is terrible here, i’ve sent multiple emails and called and left messages and still no response. Highly recommend spending your money somewhere else!
Terrible Company. Ordered a bumper and set of sliders in late December 2020. At the time of posting this 6 months later, nothing. No email, no phone call, nada to explain any sort of production delay. After reaching out I was assured by some guy named Kenny that my stuff was going to ship several weeks ago.Still havent received a tracking number let alone my products. I will be filing a claim with my bank to issue a chargeback. Shame, because their products look pretty nice, but not worth the deceit and the hassle of dealing with them. Spend your money elsewhere, these clowns dont deserve it.
Have both the Prinsu cab rack and a universal rack on my 2018 Colorado ZR2. Love the products! They are easy to install, durable, quality and they are constantly getting more accessories which every overlander loves. Now just need to save up to get the dual-swingarm rear bumper...
My mechanic ordered a powder coated rear bumper with swing arm from CBI on my behalf in 2020 August. It just arrived (2021 May), after nine months of calling them, arguing with them and getting lies about delivery dates! Whats worse is it finally arrived w/o being powder coated and with missing assembly parts for the swing arm. Ridiculous, stay away from CBI and choose another manufacturer.
Dont be fooled by CBIs proclaimed lead time. I ordered and paid for skid plates in January 2021 with a 6 week lead time. 6 months later and at least 10 false promised delivery dates my skid plates are still not in production. Funny thing is they seem to be getting caught up because their lead time for skid plates are 3 weeks now. I canceled the order, they will never get a dime from me again. I understand COVID and production delays but COVID is no excuse for misleading information and lies.
Just cancelled my order with them.Placed an order in November 2020. Estimated ship date Feb 22, 2021. It is April 30th, 2021and still have not received my order. Ive called periodically after the estimated ship date and never receive a straight up answer. All I was told is there was a production problem and they didnt bother to communicate this. Ive also been told things like Its out for powder coating, then later told Its in welding right now then weeks later I called again for an update and have been told the same thing Its in welding. Recently I was told it would be shipping the last week of April (4/25 - 4/30) and of course...it hasnt shipped. I just called to see what the deal was and I got an answer that I have heard before I have to ask the production manager and Ill back to you 48 hours. Last time I heard that, they didnt call me back. The communication coming out of CBI is trash. My pets can communicate to me better than this place.
My CBI bumper was stolen off my truck (not CBIs problem I know). The shop ordered a new bumper on January 5, 2021, at that time the website said 8-12 weeks for aluminum bumpers, okay fine, I can drive my truck with no bumper that long. Anytime CBI is contacted, the person says oh we have to get in touch with the fab shop and we will get back to you. When CBI was contacted in mid March, they told the shop that my bumper was in production and was still set to ship out March 31, 2021. When I contact my shop the 1st week of April for tracking information to plan what day I would have to drop off my truck, they contacted CBI, again 48 hours later they get told that they are not sure when my bumper will be done, that they are still working on orders from November 2020, but just 3 weeks before it was in production and set to ship 3/31/21... They will not speak to me because I did not personally place the order, understandable, but it is my product. I posted a review on CBI facebook page because that seemed to be the only way people were getting anything accomplished and that night or the next day, they removed the revews and the ability to leave a review from their facebook page. I am now sitting at 19 weeks with still no bumper and no answers to when it will be ready when their website now says 14 weeks for aluminum bumpers. I would ask the shop to cancel the order but I cannot do this because the body of my truck was already chopped for this specific bumper and the winch and light bar are already at the shop for this specific bumper.
I really hate to do this but I’m left with no choice. I’m currently waiting at 24 weeks for a bumper that was listed at 12 weeks lead time. To this day I have received no emails from CBI letting me know my order would be delayed or there were any issues. I have to either call or email to get any answer. After the first 3 responses I realized they were just leading me on. Other than covid, no real explanations. They even said that they didn’t have an address which was supplied 3 months ago. I’m beyond furious, they don’t take any complaints serious and there’s still no end in sight for when I will get my bumper. After reading similar complaints, it seems this is common practice for them. Save your money and time and take your business elsewhere! CBI: you still have the opportunity to make this right.
So I’m giving them 1-star cause in the end we had to cancel our order. Ordered two parts for my Ford F-150. Called a week after ordering and was told the shop had no power call tomorrow. Did as asked and spoke with a young lady who assured me my parts would arrive before our overland trip 18 April. Been three days and called again and was told their Internet was down call tomorrow. Called the next day and was told one part would ship around the 18th of April and the second late May. Wow, no where close to both parts arriving before 18 April. Truly disappointed as Ive been upfront with when I needed the items. Basically wasted two weeks waiting for something that was NEVER going to arrive in time when I could have been looking for something else.
My order was a little delayed but Bridger and Alex were able to get me sorted out and taken care of. Will be ordering more in the future.
Absolutely worst company I have ever dealt with. PERIOD!Toyota 4runner gen 3 ditch brackets:Product looked good. Instructions were simple. This would take 15-30 minutes to install. However, the instructions didn’t match the product. They were for a different version of the product. We all know that vehicles change periodically and we make sure that we’re buying equipment for our rig. When I pointed out their problem, they directed me to the correct instructions which required cutting of other parts, pulling fenders apart to which I said no thanks. Please send me the RMA and refund my money. Long story short:They won’t pay to fix their mistake.They won’t refund your money in full.And they don’t care if they lose customers.Awful customer service? YESBuyer Beware!
CBI is not a good company to order any off-road products from. They have horrible customer service and even worse communication. I put an order in for a product (still waiting to get built) and it went on sale. I asked if I could get a refund for the small difference from the retail price I paid and they said no. They basically told me to cancel my order and reorder it. They also said I would lose my place in line and get pushed to the back of the list. Save your time and money and buy elsewhere! This company is overrated!
I really wanted to wait to write this until AFTER my parts were all in for my Tacoma... However, that likely wont be for some time. Lets address the elephant in the room: Lead times. CBI, your lead times are straight up wrong and I notice it makes a lot of people angry. You should seriously consider trying to post leads that accurately reflect your current ability to produce your products.My experience, for reference:Rock sliders ordered May 9, 2020. Lead time? 8+ weeks. Arrived December 2020 (there was some kind of error in shipping on CBIs part and they made it right with a 10% discount). Total wait? About 30 weeks. Front/Rear bumper + skid plates ordered July 9, 2020. As of this review (Jan 12, 2021), they have yet to be shipped. Lead time? 12+ weeks. Total wait? Coming up on 27 weeks and counting. This is absolutely silly. + really isnt a catch all when its double, triple, or more the posted lead time. I get that things happen, but honesty and openness are traits I value in any company.Now, this said, the quality is OUT OF THIS WORLD. My sliders are amazing and I would never go with any other brand based on quality alone. I have seen CBI parts on other vehicles and the work is consistent. You get what you pay for and your money is well spent here. CBI does a fantastic job at creating the best parts on the market. Everything seems carefully thought out and designed. Contours and lines follow the original vehicle and, to the untrained eye, would even appear stock (if not for looking too badass to be factory).Ill also address concerns over customer service: There arent any from me. I called trying to find a status update on my outstanding parts. Whoever I spoke to on the phone was politely and professionally dismissive. Its not a bad thing and I get it. When you receive god knows how many where are my _____ phone calls, Im sure they get tiring. I was given reasons why things were delayed, all valid, but again it goes back to updating accurate leads.I would have loved to give CBI 5/5, but with the inaccurate lead times that have now made my build a lot more complicated to complete, I cant put that 5th star on.
If your vehicle is older or you need something custom then they will tell you to your face they are TOO BUSY for your business. It took months to get my vehicle in and then they didnt even have the right parts and said they would reschedule when they got them in & then forgot. P.S. my Primsu Roof rack has leaked ever since they installed it.
Personally I’ve had a great time dealing with CBI via email regarding their products. Customer service and email response times were top notch in my opinion. Love their products as well!
FALSE ADVERTISING!!!If you purchase sliders for your GX460 please know you will NOT get whats pictured on their website. LEXUS will not be laser cut into the sliders. they say its the only picture they have (although they manufacture them). its too bad they are not a TEXAS company because we have false advertising laws to protect consumers from things like this.
If like off road driving in your Toyota you have to talk to these guys for bumpers and roof racks prinsu ask for Mike he was incredible.
Honestly just really disappointed with how everything went with the install to the actual products to the follow up. It all started with a pretty messy install resulting in 4K worth of damage to the roof/cabin, oily rags left in the engine compartment, blown needle bearing, sagging swing gate, poor alignment, apathetic apologies and a general sense my money would have been better spent elsewhere. While I worked with owner and his insurance company to fix the damage, it never really felt like they cared much past obligation and acted like it was more of a nuisance. At the end of the day I regret spending a considerable amount of money with CBI and wish I would have taken my business elsewhere.Edit 04/26/19 - Reply to CBI Owner Response.Take ownership for your employees work Nathan!!!This rack was installed by your tech in April of 2016, along with a front bumper, rear swing gate, icon suspension. I spent 10K with you guys and had to stay an extra night in Idaho Falls cause you could not solve the problem of a fuse blowing due to drilling into the A-Pillar electrical line. Your tech claimed he didnt even remember denting the top of the driverside channel at the first mount point. He also managed to drill into both side curtain airbags which also had to be replaced. Im happy to list all the other issues you left me with after your install if your perspective customers would like to know. You made me feel like an inconvenience for wanting the job done right and the problems fixed, how much does one need to spend with your company for you to treat them like a valued customer and to show empathy towards the headache you left me with for weeks after.
I bought a pair of Baja designs squadron sports at what I assumed was a discounted rate. Turns out if you are expecting a pair of lights youre SOL because they dont bother letting you know the light doesnt come as a pair. Completely misleading and when brought up they made me return the item on my dime. I basically paid 32 dollars to look at a box with an inadequate amount of lights. Please make it clearer on your website because I feel like I got scammed. Also, the customer service is very hit or miss. I sent multiple emails regarding the return and could only get a hold of them via phone. Please do better @cbifab
I am extremely satisfied with their customer service. I called, needing a lost part for my roof rack and spoke with Kenny in the sales department.It was such a minor piece there was no listing for it as a replacement part. Kenny was in touch with the fabrication department and arranged shipment for the part I needed. First Class Service! Thank You

CBI is great. I have front and rear custom bumpers on my 4runner and love them. They do great work and stand by their products. Highly recommended.
Best Tacoma products ever! So far I have the following on my third gen: Rock sliders with kickout, Prinsu rack, T3 front bumper and plan on getting more. They have been more than helpful on the phone with questions as well. I wish they were located here in Colorado because I had to have a local body shop install my front bumper.
Was LITERALLY told that they COULD do a custom jack mount but they WONT. Who tells a potential customer that? Yeah we could do that but we wont.
Poor communication.Was told about2 weeks lead time on a roof rack. Talked to them at the 5 week mark. Suddenly, it was supposed to ship that day or the following day, and Id have a tracking number. 3 days later, no tracking number, and no word from anyone. Maybe Ill have better luck after week 6?Hopefully I can add more stars for quality of the product.
I came in for some off-road gear, and I assume theyre competent in such matters. But I left without speaking with anyone after I saw their company logo of some guys face trailing yellow flames. Wasnt terribly confidence-building, considering none of their products contain flammable materials.
These guys were so accommodating! Came down from Canada to pick up some stuff and they went above and beyond!
Saw some awesome products and wanted to purchase more but was very disappointed they were closed on Saturdays and even the day before Fathers Day... Missed a sale here. At least open till 1 or 2 for some people we work 5 days a week and Saturday is the only day to shop.

Great products that are well built and decently priced. The staff is helpful and will make sure you get everything you need for your truck or SUV. Also, once youre at home installing the stuff if you run into any issues theyre just a phone call away to help you through whatever may come up.
