I had a really good experience here earlier today and got sidetracked and forgot to share my experience earlier which Im bummed about because it was great. I walked in for a couple of things and was in a rush and I didnt even have to ask for help on where any of it was at in the store because a young lady named Alexis immediately asked if I needed help as soon as I walked through the door and she helped me from the time I walked in to the time I left. She was so sweet, genuine, and such a big help.

I got my haircut with Skylar yesterday morning, and I love it! She did a great job. I appreciated how gentle she was, and informative. Definitely will be back!

Josh made my hair so beautiful for my wedding day. I cant thank him enough. We had good conversations too. Id recommend him to any bride to be.

I have given this salon a lot of chances. I’ve had waxing and my hair done. Today was last straw. Got an appointment on the fly but told the lady I have long, thick, curly hair. Drove 45 mins to location and arrived 20 mins early. After waiting the “elite” stylist said “I have no idea where to start and she didn’t have time for this.” Said I would have to reschedule with someone else. Thanks for wasting my time!

My worst experience today was I went down there to get my hair color and the style said it would take time good cause and I said it’s fine and she said no it’s the finances and I said I don’t have to worry about my finances I have the money to get my hair done no matter what and then she went in the back of the room and start talking about me behind doors then her supervisor came out and told me they would figure this out and then they had a call arrangements then she come back I said let’s call another store and see if they can schedule you in and I waited and she said the earliest they can do it is Saturday and I told him I can’t do Saturdays I have to do on my day off because I work seven days a week and I cannot miss work and then have everybody talking about my hair !! They refuse service and I feel like I’ve been discriminated because of my skin color!!

Went in for a color correction after a box dye mishap, Josh was amazing! He went above and beyond on my hair and was seriously the sweetest person ever! I never want him to leave so I can keep going to him!

I was super excited when I found out my work would allow us to have an unnatural hair color. I made my appointment online on the Beauty Brands website. Super quick and easy. It allowed me to pick which stylist so I chose Josh. Hes really fun and professional. Did an awesome job. Im extremely happy with how it turned out. I went from hair that reached the middle of my back to a super punky cute faux hawk.

My daughter and I went to this location and was harassed and stared at by all the front staff. There was about 6 employees who followed us through the store aisle to aisle after numerous times telling them we were only looking. Then after we leave they gathered in a circle to stare at us in a group pointing and staring more! I will not be returning to this establishment after made to feel as if Im stealing. I just wanted to browse products in peace.

I appreciate you asking! I go jn for a cut and color. I have pics of what I was wanting only for the stylist ( who looked unhappy) to tell me she didnt have time dor the color I was hoping for. So I thought I will get the haircut and follow up with the color at a later time. So we start to talk about the haircut... Only for the stylist to tell me that my hair was to thin for the cut that I wanted. I got up and left. The next day I got a appt with Salon Bellezzio who was able to give me the cut and color that I wanted in a 2 hour appt. They made $200. That could of been yours. I wont be back or refer Beauty Brands. Thank you for your time in this matter

Made an appt for consultation to see about a perm and if not highlights and a cut. My appt was confirmed then I get a call that wont be able to do my hair. They cancelled my appt. I called back to ask why when I had already discussed the issues with my hair...thus the consultation. My stylist is almost 20 mins over for my appt. Then says wont do a perm because of some highlights. Ok....lets just add to the highlights and cut. Cant do.....only scheduled for a consultations. I cleared my morning for this only to have wasted my time!!!! Never....never.....never again. Ive always been reluctant going there but I try to give chances, no more!!!

The girls here are always extremely helpful. They dont just point, they take you to the product and ask if you need anything else. Better than Wal-Mart thats for sure.

I have been afraid of any hair related styling issues with beauty brands for about 15 years and that is because of a bad experience but I decided to give them another chance at another location at this one in independence and I was going to get a highlight I waited 30 minutes on my stylist the master stylist to show up after I had checked in only to find out she had been standing across from me the entire time chatting about the drunken night before events no apology did not highlight my hair the way that I requested I know it can be done because its been done for the past 10 years and then had the audacity to charge me that master stylist price and not a discount for the delay as she stood in front of me without checking in or the fact that they receptionist lied to me and told me that she was here and waiting when I arrived which was not accurate it was a nightmare again all around Im debating on whether to continue to even buy my hair supplies there this just was ridiculous and I dont recommend anyone going there if you care about your hair or care about the customer service side of what they do. The master stylist acted like I was really just ruining her day by booking with her! NEVER AGAIN!

I was in the other night and I have to say the service i received was very poor. I came in looking for a specific item and could tell I needed help. I was in there 15 seconds before the whole staff started busting out laughing and maybe it was just bad timing but no one greeted me or asked if I needed help which again you could tell I was searching for something they just stared at me. After finally finding what I what I was looking for it took them 5 minutes to stop talking and someone to come check me out. I honestly will probably never go back to this location, which is a shame because its 5 minutes from my house

The cashier was very pleasant the rest of the store needs to work on customer service skills. I was in there with two other people for 45 minutes and not a single employee spoke to any of us or asked if we needed help.

The people giving services are wonderful. I absolutely love Isabella. She is very personable, and rocks at shaping eyebrows. Also, Courtney is wonderful with her massages. Id book her biweekly if I could afford to.

Decent customer service, not above and beyond...they were out of a couple things I wanted, but all in all a good experience for a liter sale!

Had my hair done before with out issue. Had a great stylist who Has very nice, unfortunately left my hair a mess. I would add a photo but its not letting me.... Needs to work on blending layers.

Was ok in a pinch

Seriously? I paid $150 and asked for the best beautician. She had an awful attitude. I asked for my hair cut at shoulder length and got below the ears. She did spend several hours conditioning and coloring. However, after she literally chopped my hair, I cried. She told me to be grateful that I wasnt the girl that came in earlier, because she only had a few inches of hair left. She was just heartless. Im sorry if she had a bad day, but leave that at the door or stay home!

My stylist, Jess, cut my long to just above my shoulders and I love it. Even though I was a walk-in she was gracious and showed me photos on her phone to make sure she knew what I wanted.

Wendy put beautiful highlights and lowlights in my hair. My hair can be difficult to work with and she knew exactly how to treat it and how to fix my postpartum breakage. My hair is now soft, healthy, and strong. Everyone was extremely welcoming as I was a complete mess. I left feeling refreshed and confident. Thank you Wendy!

No one once asked if I needed help or if I was finding anything. While employees just talked to each. Very rude wont be back

They have a great selection of shampoo and conditioners. I like when they have there annual liter sale. The savings are fantastic. If you need a good day of pampering I would suggest their spa package. There is plenty of free parking. The staff is friendly and helpful.

It is a fun place to work and always has great products. Everyone is kind and knowledgeable about the products. They have hair care and skincare things. As well as an amazing salon and spa. Highly recommended everyone to go here. I recommend going to Isabella if you ever need your brows done! 💕

They dont carry very much makeup stuff they used to carry they dont and they dont know what im talking about when i ask about newer stuff. Thr manager is rude and not helpful at all

My mom scheduled hair appointments for us for her wedding and my stylists was 30mins late to my appointment. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more upset about having curly hair. Rachel my stylist was very rude and defensive the entire time and treated me like a child. She made consist sly comments about my hair saying I needed a trim and that there was too much hair followed by “oh your gorgeous curls”. She told me she would “let me chill and take a couple deep breaths” while my hair was drying. I was supposed to get my brows done but she told me she wouldn’t do them because they would be “red for the wedding” (followed by vigorous finger pointing) that was happening 4 hours after my appointment, so I told her to not worry about that I would go to Ulta next time. When my mom mentioned that she gotten her brows done before her hair Rachel threw her hands up being defensive once again so we left. I can’t believe someone from this establishment made me feel so bad about myself because I don’t have “easy” hair. I cannot wait to go to back Ulta where my hair and business is appreciated.

Just okay. The product selection is great but the way they charge for hair and nail care is a little shall we say, REALLY!? My toes are no better or different from the customer beside me, but charged different because one has more experience. No point.

Great pedicure by Jennifer. They have an excellent staff and are always busy. I have also had massages here. But there is a turnover in masseuses.Neighbors go here too and have been for years. It is best to schedule an appointment as they are normally busy.

This locations is always stocked well. Especially during the liter sale which is a major plus for me. It may have been a slightly farther drive but it was worth it to be able to actually get the product I wanted. The staff was always nice and friendly. One of my favorite locations. The Liberty location was the closest to me but my least favorite so I would drive to this one instead.

Great store, love the liter sales. Im also a long haired man. Some of these places you tend to feel uncomfortable being a male in a primarily womans store/market but they make me feel very comfortable and welcomed.

Went in for a 3:15 color appointment. Stood at the desk for 5 minutes, was not greeted. Waited until 3:45 for my stylist, only to be told they didn’t have the hair color I wanted. I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty disappointed.

Very disappointed. Went to lisa for the first time. Specifically asked that my length stay and I wanted my hair parted to the side. She gave me bangs on the left side of my head, not in front by my face, literally on the side of my head. Its so short on just that side that they wont even stay hidden behind my ear or in a pony. So disturbed right now and planning to call and complain in the morning, no idea if that will even do anything. Also I asked for some volume in the blowout and my hair was totally flat to my head, then she flat ironed the ends to heavily curl under. Sucks bad. Too much cut off and made into a terrible outdated look. No idea what to do now. Giving three stars since my eye brow wax was great.

Came in at this store to look for shampoo and conditioner. It was not busy at all. Nobody even offer to help me. So I just left, and didnt even say thanks for coming. I dont know if Im just invisible that time or they really just rude.

I hate reviewing places good or bad, but I am so incredibly disappointed in this place, I felt the need to express my emotions constructively (and also on facebook). I typically go to the one on the plaza and have had great experiences there over the last 6 years of getting my hair done every 6 weeks and buying all my hair care products there. Since I live out east, its been easier to buy product at the Independence location. However, the past two times have been horrible experiences. The first of the two, I went in to replenish my Its a 10 with keratin spray in the large bottle and none were on the shelf. I asked if they had more anywhere else and the lady I asked said she wasnt sure but she would check in back. I waited about 5 minutes and watched her come out and talk to coworker and then straight back to the register without even acknowledging me. I stood there for another couple minutes to give her the benefit of doubt and when she didnt come back, I walked right out of the store without purchasing anything (not even the impulse items I picked up while waiting). I went back again today to try to exchange a shampoo bottle my mom purchased out of town for me and didnt give me a receipt and I have since switched shampoos. I was told that since it was not under my name and my mom didnt create an account and without a receipt I could not even EXCHANGE the shampoo, and not even for a discounted rate. I was practically trying to give money back to them just because I dont use the shampoo anymore. Its a shame after such a great relationship with Beauty Brands over the last 6 years and the hundreds of dollars Ive spent with this company, that I will no longer continue to do so and will switch to Ulta, which I told the manager of the store, who simply said okay.

I like some of their products. Moroccan oil is one of them. However it’s such a hit or miss if your going to get a kind cashier and I just don’t have time for anyone rude I am purchasing something from.
