I love this store n their staff . I can lose my self in this store by just getting absorbed at the book selection records cds vintage stuff.You need a good book then go to half price books.

I lost both my folks and have been liquidating their home items. They were avid readers. Took books to donate. Didnt know they would pay for some of the more unusual books. The very nice young Ladies helped unload the boxes of books from my vehicle, went through them and paid me a few dollars. SCORE!!!

Gotta love this place. Family owned, great books to choose from and great bunch of people. Thank you for being there.

Half Price Books is one of those places I went to more often than I actually do. I probably think about going down just to browse once a week, but only end up going once every two or three months. Its a shame, because this well-kept, clean, and friendly location always gives me something fun or cherished to walk away with. Great vinyl collection, and the standard book inventory youd expect. Also a handsome clearance section where there are lots of great deals. Dont sleep on HPB!

This should be part of a series called Confessions of a HPB Addict.I thought the staff was friendly and helpful, and the music selections are very good, though the clearance LPs and CDs could be priced a little bit lower. $2 is the usual price for most of the clearance items, which is a bit steep compared to other HPB locations (typically $1), but some of the box CD sets are a better deal.Because I’m an addict, I will be back...

I love this chain no matter where I go! The Independence location employees are always friendly and helpful. The selection almost always has what Im looking for. The store is clean and always a wonderful atmosphere!

This is a homely and great place to find books you werent even looking for! You always come and bring back something new and unexpected! If its a book, trinket, DvD, record, or any other games or electronics they are in very good condition and quality! Would definitely reccomend as a must have visit!

So, first time customer...the place is like walking into Ross but with books BUT the difference is everyone from employee to customer is SUPER nice! Even a lot of the customers can help you find a book your looking for. The prices are amazing AND you can trade in your already read books for store credit, (maybe cash too...Im not sure) you can also trade in your old legos! Barnes and noble closed down so I went here... hands down best decision ever!

You can find good bargains if you look hard enough.

HPB is a favorite of mine in every state. They have the nicest, most helpful and laid back people. Best bookstore ever! Hands down.

Some of the books werent half priced. They cost your soul, which means some of them are an even greater deal (depends on how used and abused your soul is) but people with perfect souls, watch out! If you are like me, getting a used copy of The Shinning for your soul is the deal of the year!

Hidden gem in plain sight. Never thought to visit here but after going for the first time I have wanted to go back! It may not have new books in stock but it is still a great spot for books and a great replacement since the Barnes and Noble nearby closed.

Half priced books always is really organized. You can find books on literally anything. I found some books I had read years ago that we AMAZINGLY priced. Everything is neatly put away and organized in a way that makes sense. The staff are always so nice and friendly. They let you do your own browsing if you want, or they can help you find something specific. Cant recommend this place enough!!

Customer service was great! I called confirming the book I wanted was available they pulled it from shelf and held it for me. Upon arrival I paid over the phone for this book and they walked it out to my vehicle.

Great options but if youre looking for something specific its the luck of the draw.

New waitress, got our order incorrect and we were there for over an hour and they were not busy. We ended up leaving up happy we also had to ask 3 times for more water.

I have a medical mask exemption, and even have a doctors note. Half Price Books refused to honor my medical exemption. Will not shop here again, even after the mask mandate is lifted. There are other used book stores that respect the health of EVERYONE.

Half priced books is full of great finds. I could wander the store for several hours enjoying the inventory. Great place to browse and pick up a new (used) book. Recommended.

This place is always cool to go look around or kill time. Youll always find something you want. They have decent prices and absolutely huge collection of unique items. So many books and games and gaming or collectible memorabilia. They will also buy just about anything if it re sellable.

I LOVE this store! It has such a great selection and great prices. I never leave this store without buying something. I like that the employees leave me alone while Im browsing too. But its also nice because there are plenty walking around so if I do have a question I dont have to search for someone for very long.

I had a great experience at this Half Price Books location last week! The girl at the counter was extremely polite, pleasant, and helpful. They didnt have the book I wanted in stock and she told me she could search their inventory and have it shipped there from another HPB store for free! I didnt even know they offered this service. They already called me a couple of days ago to say the book has arrived!

Great place to buy and sell books

Nice big clean store. The books I bought were about $4 a piece. One was $10 so prices do vary. A little pricier then the thrift stores, but for the most part cheaper then the book store.They also have a sign saying they buy books. Dont know what you get for them. I know someone that went there ro sell some Disney movie classics and they only wanted to give them $1 per movie. Which really isnt much.

This is neat smaller version of Barnes & Noble minus the coffee cafe. Still a fan favorite to stop in and look around.

I always spend about 3x as much as planned. So many choices!

The staff are friendly but they dont give you enough for the books that you sell back. Even if they had given me a dollar for each book, I would have gotten back more. I also think if you are going to use it for store credit instead of cash you should get more back.

Been coming here for a while (like 6 years I think) they have a great (and big) selection, especially for adult fiction and non-fiction and health-related books. DECENT prices (pretty much normal prices sometimes kind of pricey but mostly average) and a clean store. Most the staff is kind and courteous, the owner is pretty rude but for the most part they are an ok store .

The workers barely speak when you enter. One worker was helping my son find a particular book and he was just very stale in his demeanor. Great prices on books though.

Excellent priced second-hand book store. Way more organized than most thrift book stores. Got two books for 40$ that would have cost me 120$ to buy brand new.

They offered me a total of $.25 cents for all my boxes of books. My books were very current and in perfect condition. Not professional at all to only offer $.25 cents after they wasted my time. I know my boxes of books are worth more than $.25 cents...I also know my time is worth more than $.25 cents. Time is valuable and precious...Take my advice and dont waste your time with this business. You will definitely be disappointed.

You are required to provide your drivers license to sell them your used books. Wonder what happens if you require them to provide their drivers license when they sell you a used book? They tried to justify this practice by saying cash is involved and they need a record of where the cash goes. So, instead of tightening up their internal practices by using something like dual control, they choose to invade customer privacy. I just took my books to The Salvation Army; no identification required.
