Love this place!They have great customer service, a great selection of books for all ages, and the place is always neat and orderly.Been to several of their events and theyve all been well managed and with a high, positive energy.Definitely recommend a visit whether its good for tenured fans or someone new-to-comics!

We really enjoyed the service we received at downtown Comics. Pete was very nice and was an immense help! He is very knowledgeable and honest. We got all the information we needed and ended up with buying more than we thought we would. Trust me, thats a good thing. I highly recommend this place for any comic book lover, board gamer, and manga reader.

Asked if they had a specific run. They said yes so I look around and couldnt seem to find it anywhere so I asked for help. They simply responded with “its in alphabetical order” and looked annoyed that I even asked. After I looked for 5-10 10 minutes, they later said it was sold out, after they told me that they had it! And 2 of the comics I tried buying weren’t for sale until the next day.. next time don’t put items that aren’t for sale on the stands!!! Sad excuse for a comic shop.

I came in and let the store know which back issue I had come in for. Even though it was five minutes until closing she immediately dropped everything she was doing and searched the bins until she located it for for me. This place really knows how to put the service in customer service!!

Best comic shop in North Indy! One of three shops around the city, this one is great for all North Siders and Fishers residents. Huge selection and friiendly staff. If you cant find what youre looking for at this location, they can always try to track it down from their other stores to get to you.

Pete and crew are awesome! Always fun to stop down and chat and everybody is always friendly. Super organized, very clean, and always a great experience.

These guys are awesome. Theyre part of the Comic Hub network, so theyll ship to out of state customers like me. They were super responsive to emails and very helpful. They ship securely, and their shipping prices were beyond fair. The books I ordered showed up in perfect condition, and Im just so happy I found these guys online. Pete was the one I was talking to via email, and he went above and beyond to help me out.

The service was 👎 they seem to be unwilling to help. I asked about some comics, football card, baseball card. I have been buying comics for long time. I have seen no comics store store like this one. I have comics from the 1930 to the 1970 and when trying to get info on them the men behind the counter act as like I was taking to myself. I Will NOT BE BACK

Not a good buyer at all came by the store trying to sell my comic books from the 60s and 70s in good condition he only offered me $60 felt insulted you better off selling your comic books on Facebook marketplace or eBay.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. They really do the little things to take care of their regular customers. I have shopped there for about 17 years and they have always been amazing. Thanks and keep up the great job!

Prices way inflated almost every book I looked at on wall was twice ebay buynow prices. Says eBay isnt a real judge of prices. Doesnt know what fair market value is. Not willing to negotiate. Will not return needless to say.

The comic book shop has a good vibe and friendly staff. They will great you and see if you need anything. But arent pushy about trying to get you to buy more than what youre looking for at the moment.

I absolutely love this place and everything it has because I could be going in their for one thing but then come out with a bunch of other stuff which is always a good thing in my opinion plus the staff is always so friendly and willing to help I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted to start a collection

Great! Personalized service. Were kind of new to the comic book thing, but stopped in on our way to dinner. The boys (11 & 10) are very into the Avengers, so we looked into that storyline. I assume it was the owner that helped us out, very knowledgable & very helpful! If it wasnt the owner, then the owner should know that he has a GREAT employee working for him!!

My wife and I came into the store from out of state. We were just killing time before the Hugh Jackman show. We were both impressed by the selection and help from the employees that we received. Will come back if ever downtown again

It was a very nice place with something for everyone. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.

It was our first time visiting. I used to read comics and now have a young son. He found some of my old comics and wanted some of his own. We ended up here. We were directed to the sections that were for all ages and poked around a bit. My son found a couple things to give a try to. We will be back, it was a good experience for father and son.

I like this place, depending on who is working. I usually go during the week and really like the guy who is normally there. Hes nice and helpful. I would have given a 5 star review based on those experiences.But then we went in a week or so ago on a weekend. The clerk was on her phone the whole time we were there, which I honestly dont mind if s/he is amenable to helping me when I need it. We got close to 100 books and brought them up to pay. She made a point of finishing what she was doing on her phone before helping us, and she wasnt friendly at all. Didnt say hi, didnt respond when spoken to. Nothing. She tossed our books around on the counter while she counted them, but what really bothered us was how she handled them. Or mishandled them. She grabbed them by the spines, creating tics and bending them, then straightened the piles by vertically hitting them on the counter. We were both completely shocked. Either no-one has shown her how to properly handle comics or she doesnt care. We dont expect 9.8 books, but we do expect comic shop employees to properly handle the books we are buying. We will go back, but only on weekdays. I dont want her touching my books again.

Downtown is a reliable need service chain & this is a good one. Most of the popular geek wave can be found here on any given day: comics, figures, games, graphic novels, and all of the supplies to go with all that & more. The main downside is the boutique hours, impractical for most working class & poor nerds. Nice staff, nice place, nice stuff.

Downtown Comics, North has been a special place for me. I first started going in after I shattered my leg in 07 and the staff inquired about my interests and would have my books pulled for me every Wednesday. For years after that my work would keep me on the road and Pete would continue to pull my requests and mail them onto me. I lived in California for a year and still got my comics for Downtown Comics. The customer service has always been outstanding. Keep up the good work!

Bald headed guy treated my six year old son like he was nothing. Me and my son enjoy comics together and I had found a book I was purchasing when me son hollered over to me to look. My son had just casually went over to the little 50 cent toy dispenser and one had fell out after he turned the nozzle. The guy made my son either give him a dollar or he had to give it back. My son give it back and got a free book in exchange. The book had more value then the toy that dropped for him. He was so upset and I was so furious I almost didnt buy my book. I laughed because I thought the guy was joking with a little kid. I will no longer be stopping into this shop everytime Im up north. My business solely belongs to the more friendly, better managed, customer driven Comics University. This shop is just to anger and they never care for their customers.

This place was really cool. I stopped by as I was passing through Indy on my way home to South Bend. I liked how it was merchandized. They had sections that focused on certain franchises and shelves that would spotlight specific creators. The man behind the counter was very friendly.

Just called the store to ask about some general questions and the gentlemen was extremely rude and not listening to what I was asking. Hopefully this isnt how the treat everyone who calls.

Ive only been here a hand full of times but they have a vast selection of titles and a TON of graphic novels. The gal at the desk is the only employee Ive come into contact with and she seems nice. The location is a plus for me since it seems to be the only comic book shop on the north side/Fishers/Castleton. Check it out!

Very experienced staff who are friendly and happy to answer any questions that you might have. Went in with about 10 questions and had them all answered clearly and with a level of engagement you dont get a lot in most customer service situations now-a-days.

Ive been going to this location for a few years now. The staff is great and always very helpful. If there is anything that you need... if they do not have it... they will look for it and let you know when they have it.

Downtown Comics North has become a weekly ritual for me. The I nventory is great and easy to navigate. The point system is fantastic. But the staff is the shining point. Theyre very personable, always helpful and definitely willing to go the extra mile... and it shows in the relationships theyve built with their customers. Great work, DTC! Keep it up!

They have a lot of new comics but not much in the way of older comments. Im not removing stars because of their lack of old comics but rather because the employee working there didnt acknowledge us when we came in or ask if we needed help, and when I did ask questions they didnt seem to know much, and didnt seem particularly interested in helping.

Owner wasnt friendly. I was told by two different people( an employee and the owner himself), to come in and they would look into buying my books. I was calling in before to make sure I didnt make the trip for nothing( not super close to me). When I arrived I got a Hi thats about it. I noticed the situation to be tense so I added some humor for an ice breaker. (Not even a crack of a smile, at least real smile or laugh). I then proceeded to place my items on the counter( the ones they told me to bring in and even verified before coming), and asked if he would be interested in them! He proceeds to shuffle through a couple, (didnt even look at 1/4 of them), in an aggitated or angry way. He then sent me on my way saying he didnt want anything from my collection. (Once again, the one I was told not once, but twice to bring in). The guy was a real dud and had no personality to be running a business. This place was definitely a bust and I do not recommend to anyone!! The only reason they are getting a 2 star is that they sold some trading cards. Dont take or buy anything to/from them. Downtown comics you should be ashamed at running a business this way. Downtown has a few locations and Im sure they claim thats because of good business. Wrong, its because there isnt a huge business for comics anymore and they Monopolied the market that is left. Rant over! Hope this helped.

I stopped in to browse comics while waiting for dinner next door. I found a comic I was interested in buying when the clerk approached my sister and me and stated (after maybe 5 minutes in the store), This is a store. Not a library. Mind you, I had been in the store less than 5 minutes when I was approached. My sister was counting cash to see if we had enough money to buy a comic.Needless to say, I will never patron this business or recommend it to anyone I know. The clerk was exceptionally rude to what was about to be a paying customer.

Sort of new to Indy and had been looking for a comic book store to call My Comic Shop for a while now. Have shopped at Hero House, Comic Carnival and Downtown Comics. After a few visits to each the choice was easy and I am proud to say that Downtown Comics is *my* comic shop.Great location with plenty of parking. The store has an impressive lay out that makes it easy to find what you are looking for. And the employees are both friendly and helpful. Pete knows his stuff and I enjoy my visits there. Feels like home.Wasnt going to bother but kinda surprised to read the last review. But when I looked at is closer it is obviously just a shill for Comic Carnival. Pretty sad to use a review for the successful competition to advertise a failing chain. The first Comic Carnival I ever went to was out of business when I went back three weeks later. I checked out their last location and it was okay, but not for me. But I am not going to go slag them in a review, as I am sure many people will enjoy shopping there.If you want a comic shop that has it all, and feels like home, you cant go wrong with Downtown Comics.

I went into the store on a Friday, looking to grab some doctor who merch, im greeted with a hello and that was it, i looked at the great doctor who stuff they had and after telling this guy i have been looking for this stuff, i still did not get a word back. i walked around the store for 15 minuets and that man would not do anything close to customer service. i didnt buy anything from the store because of this, my money can be spent at amazon and entertainment earth for better prices. that man lost a sale and will be the last time i visit the store.

From waverly ohio and i have a couple local shops along with shops in columbus and i must say even our worst shop is better on backstock and prices than this store. looks great but the problem with this store is they price everything at value and over value even what should be back stock $1 comics. This store is all about making money on everything it has so if you are looking for a store with a good selection of backstock this is not it. You will pay full price on almost everything. The only back stock this store has are crappy or damaged comics and nothing worth looking for. Do not waste your time...

I dont really have much experience in comic book stores, but the girl working there had th. Nerve to tell my boyfriend and i that this is a store, not a library . We were so upset, we left. My boyfriend vows to never return, but i like the store. The chick needs to be taken cate of though.
