I found Urban Optiks through my in network contacts with my employee insurance, and I’m so glad I did. Dr. Rob was extremely personable and a good conversationalist as well. Some good conversation goes a long way when dealing with most people. He was thorough with the exam and explained what I had going on with my eyes. His assistant was more than helpful in helping me order frames that they did not have in stock/carried. They even helped fix the frames on my sunglasses at no additional charge! I was happy after leaving and will continue to do my business with them moving forward! Excellent experience!!

Had a great first visit but every time I have tried to call asking questions or scheduling appt. the receptionist answers and says they are not open and to call back tomorrow. Why answer the phone if you are not open?

I found Dr. Rob online in 2019 and had an excellent visit with him and his staff at their nice Broad Ripple office. They were very friendly and attentive.This year (2020), I had an eye issue during Covid19. Dr. Rob helped address my issue over the phone. He was extremely helpful!! Im very grateful for his help. I highly recommend Dr. Rob to anyone needing eye care!!

Comfortable experience. Rob appeared personable, comforting, and knowledgeable. Option of receiving full eye exam involving dilation/non dilation- digital if eyes are sensitive upon dilation among many other areas of testing. Great conversation with Rob and his knowledge around the Indy area. Purchased unique glasses as well. Plan on returning.

The office is being remodeled however, it is a clean open space. I received a warm welcome, and excellent care from Heather. My exam was professional and thorough. Dr. Rob is very precise. The glasses selection are second to none. I traveled 3 hours round trip.

Pretty mellow and painless experience. Friendly staff, and very human. Heather helped me pick out a frame almost immediately and I was surprised how well it worked with my face. Doctor communicated well about eyes and took the time to make sure it was the right prescription.

I started going to Dr. Rob two years ago. I’d older, had some trauma to my already bad eyes when I was younger and predictably, my eyes are getting worse with age. He dispelled a lot of my fears, but we’re talking about options down the road (I’ll need surgery at some point and he recommended LASIK when that happens, so at some point I may be getting rid of glasses entirely). Last exam, he made a lot of recommendations for and against stuff, including adding a specific, slight tint to my regular glasses, which has been invaluable. I no longer have problems with glare while driving at night. My experience with eye doctors is they mostly try to rush me through the exam and given all my problems (astigmatism, cataract and light sensitivity due to injury and now the need for bifocals), this won’t do. Rob gives all the time I need and has given me a lot more answers than previous doctors.As for frames, I’m no longer going for the cheapest, safe-bet glasses Wal-mart or the Internet has to offer, but rather going from a painstakingly curated selection of unique, often hand-made frames. I’m using the same frames I got a couple years ago from Rob for my regular glasses and not changing for anything. They’re in great shape, sturdy and better looking than anything I’ve owned. I grabbed new sunglasses this year and those are it for me. I’ll swap the lenses as needed, but I have a unique set of frames that work for me and my big, wide face. This isn’t some one-hour place that slaps together generic specs but rather a boutique place, for those who actually care about the one thing they’re stuck wearing day in and day out.

The most thorough eye exam I’ve ever had! Dr. Rob was very patient and took time to make sure I was comfortable when he was testing, even when he had to keep redoing them to make sure I get the sharpest vision. I love the selection of glasses, the ICI Berlin glasses are awesome! Heather was very helpful !

Dr. Diegel was great! Very friendly and relaxed. They’re going through a renovation but everything ran smoothly. Good selection of frames. I’ll be returning.

Found Urban Optiks by Google search and Yelp review process. I am not one to do either on a regular basis however SO PLEASED I did! Knowing for a few months I need to have my eyes checked and receiving reminders from a place I did go to once. I made my appt to see Dr Rob. Not kid friendly at all. Unless you want to know how much everything your kid looks at or touches. Very stressful.

I mistakenly ordered the wrong contacts prescription and Dr. Rob was kind enough to allow me to return the entire six month supply and reorder the correct prescription free of additional charge! Would highly recommend this optometrist as his service to patients is superb and he really strives to keep customers as happy as possible.

Seems like Urban Optiks is more concerned about lining their own pockets than with helping out their patients.After being a patient for over two years, its time to write a review. They seem to do anything they can to keep you for ordering contacts or glasses elsewhere. For example, trying to obtain my prescription has been a week long ordeal on multiple occasions. They will hang up on 1-800-Contacts or anyone calling on your behalf, they try to discredit low cost glasses providers in favor of their in office Italian brands and even told me not to trust Lasik since theres a 2% failure rate. Seems like they want me to continue to come in for eye exams and spend money on glasses and contacts so they can stay in business instead of providing quality care and being concerned for their patients well-being. Again, just trying to make a buck. Pretty disappointing and will never be going back again.

Terrible experience. Dr was reluctant to explain things to me. He was even more reluctant to order trial contacts for me. Ended up just purchasing some and at 200$ they do not work at all! Dr. complained because I had difficulty finding the right contacts for my astigmatism. Dr. and receptionist gave me a hard time writing a script for eye glasses because I needed to purchase them elsewhere due to cost. I would NOT recommend them. As it is, I guess, since I used my yearly eye exam insurance, I will need to pay out of pocket for another eye dr who is willing to fit me for contacts that work for my eyes. I wouldnt even post a 1 star but they dont offer negative stars.

I visited Dr. DIEGEL after seeing good reviews on internet. I was initially scared as the office lloked very old and creepy. But as soon as I stepped into his office and started talking to him I felt very comfortable. He is a very good doctor. He spent a lot of time with me and did all the required tests. I felt I am in good hands. I definitely recommend him. He will be my optometrist as long as I live in Indianapolis.

Really disappointing. I needed a new optometrist and glasses, and we went in on Friday afternoon. Whomever was working asked me what I needed as if I was intruding-I had to ask her if it was open, and she said yes, the frames are in these cases, were under construction, and left. I could hear her non-stop phone conversation, but I never saw her again. I was kind of creeped out, and with no service, I bailed.

TERRIBLE customer service! I called them to make an appointment (my first with them, although Ive been wearing glasses for years and have seen several optometrists before). When the receptionist answered, I said Hello, Im Bella ---- and she interrupted me to say that their internet was down and she would have to call me back, and then she HUNG UP on me. What kind of customer service is that? No thanks, Ill take my business elsewhere.
