My visit to the downtown location today was almost too good to be real. I was able to walk there from my apartment. Then, the office itself is super cool, modern, and very clean. The receptionist was friendly, Zamira was phenomenal and calmed any bit of nervousness I had in me, and Dr. Weibert was kind and delightful! And last, but not least, the eyeglasses associate helped me pick out some phenomenal frames. I am ready to face the world again! Thank you!
I just relocated and was looking to find a new local optometrist, when I saw MyEyeDr. downtown. I have been to MyEyeDr. out of state and enjoyed the office and the staff, so I called. Crystal answered the phone and was SO kind and patient, helping me navigate my new insurance. She went out of her way to accommodate my needs and I am so grateful!
I felt very comfortable the staff is great the doctor is Amazing doing a Awsome job.
Wonderful staff and amazing location! The Dr was very helpful and all staff members were so friendly. When choosing glasses, I was given wonderful advice that helped me make a good choice. During the initial eye exams, the staff member explained all aspects of the tests very well and the process was seamless and painless. Im so glad I chose this Dr.
I havent been to an Ossip in years but after some frustrations with an eye clinic, I decided I would try it again. I like the downtown location because its not far from my apartment, but I will admit that parking can be difficult, especially if youre not familiar with the city. I am actually so surprised by the negative reviews. When I came in the receptionist greeted me appropriately. She checked me in appropriately. As far as that $55 charge for the retinal scan. I was going to Ossip in high school over a decade ago and they had the disclaimer paper that said that insurance doesnt cover this and its an extra $55 and optional. When I went last week, the same disclaimer paper was on the clipboard where you sign the forms for your appointment. Maybe people just need to read more :). The initial tech (Heather?) who takes you through all the quick eye checks was awesome. Dr. Frank was amazing and thorough. I really enjoyed her and she obviously has lots of knowledge and experience. After getting my exam, I went to order glasses and Lauren was the sweetest! I never had any issues whatsoever with rudeness. I would recommend this location.
I went in to get my glasses repaired and they could not have been nicer. The staff was very attentive and helped me right away. Once the repair was done they refused to accept any payment. They’re some good people over there.
I went in for a normal eye exam and found out I had damaged corneas. Dr. Frank was very thorough and the entire staff of technicians and front desk support were kind and accommodating. Im grateful to have them so close to my office.
Everytime I go to ossip they prove why theyre the best. I went in today to get the nose pads replaced on my glasses (that I didnt buy there). They not only took the time to replace the nose pads, the tech went to far as to remove the lenses and fully clean my glasses. I wear them day in and day out, working in the garage or on the motorcycle so there had been a year worth of crud built up and he took the time to do it right. Fantastic service and while I didnt buy my current glasses there, I have been a customer many times before - and they treated me with the best service Ive seen in awhile.
New to town, I decided to go to Ossip for my annual exam. As soon as you get there you learn you have to pay $55 out of pocket for a retinal exam. The doctor and tech were extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. The doctor encouraged me to try out dailies instead of regular contacts which are 1. More expensive in general and 2. You pay a higher fee for the fitting. When checking out, the woman at the front desk left me standing awkwardly for 5 minutes while she gasped and calculated my total several times (it was a lot higher than normal). I was told Id get a call in a couple days to pick up my trial contacts. One week later I called to check in because I had heard nothing and the lady on the phone said I have no idea where those are. Ill have to check and call you back. Unfortunately, I have to suggest going somewhere else.
I have never had a better experience with an optometrist. Dr. Frank was thorough and took her time to ensure I had the best fitting contacts. Front desk staff were very kind and knowledgeable.
I was really disappointed by the service at Ossip Downtown. I expected it to be expensive because of the downtown location, but I assumed by insurance would be able to make the price manageable. Even though my insurance payed 100% for the exam, they added on a contact lens fitting fee for $114 that wasnt covered. The exam itself was $177. So if you are out of network or have no vision plan and paying cash, expect to shell out somewhere around $300.Their prices are completely inflated!Just for comparison, a walmart total vision exam is only $79. (this includes the contact lens fitting fee).Additionally, I had to wait alone, unable to see (because they had me remove my contacts) for 30 minutes.I will never go back and I recommend you shop around for better pricing. If you want expensive frames, bring your prescription from another, cheaper office to this location and get your glasses. Also, their contact pricing were severely inflated ($350 for a year of contacts that were $220 on 1-800-Contacts).Dont get sucked in people! Learn from my mistake :(
Im new to Indy and needed a place to get my eyes examined, prescriptions updated and potentially buy some contacts and glasses. I scheduled a first-time appointment and the paperwork they asked me to sign was not around my medical history, but rather about the fees that they were going to charge me that insurance wont cover. When I declined to sign up for their long-term contact lens management program for $75 (an add-on fee), they told me that they couldnt fit me with a prescription for contact lenses. This was clearly not the beginning of a relationship that I needed to pursue further, so I cancelled my appointment. If it wasnt for the cool eye glasses in the window that I walk past all the time, I would give them a 0. Now I understand the extent to the premiums that they seek to charge for their products and services.
Shocked by how many of their frames were made in China and how long I had to wait after my appointment time. Optometrist did a rather speedy exam and ignored my concerns. Refused to provide me with my prescription and retinal scan results to take to another optometrist.
While Dr Weibert is great the rest of the office is not so much. I just had an appt there and afterward went to pick out glasses. As I sat down I told the tech that I am out of HSA money so I need to watch my budget a little closer. She, of course, completely ignored my request and immediately offered me the most expensive lens option. When I balked she backed it down a little so I told her to just go ahead and print my prescription and that Id go elsewhere. She grunted that todays bill is $65 and handed me my prescription. I would have liked to explore more options for glasses and lenses with Ossip but felt like I was being a bother since the tech was ON THE PHONE the entire time I was seated across from her. It was apparent that I was bothering them and that unless I wanted the most expensive option (never mind that in the past I bought one pair of glasses there that was over $1300 but couldnt do so this time) they didnt want to deal with me so Im taking my eyes (and my dollars) elsewhere from now on.Edit: There was no misunderstanding. I didnt want to pay for top dollar lenses so the tech didnt want to waste her time with me. That probably worked out better since that way she had more time to devote to the phone call that she was on the entire time I sat at her station. As far as revisiting the options goes that ship has sailed and my $800 for glasses went elsewhere and will continue to from now on. If this company was truly worried about correcting the situation they wouldnt have asked me to contact them since they have my name and the location at which I visited. They instead would be pro-active about and would contact me.
Very good service from Dr. Weibert and her optician/associate — as Ive come to expect from using them annually for the past several years — but what really impressed was the extra effort the reception area put in to getting my insurance situation straightened out. (It was an insurer they hadnt dealt with before and were unfamiliar with.) It took approximately 25 minutes, but none of those minutes were wasted so I didnt mind.
Ossip has a selection of high quality glasses, but regardless of what location I go to, I always end up feeling ripped off to some extent. The people are generally friendly and provide a good level of service, although in my recent visit I had to wait around nearly 30 minutes for an exam room, and then wait again for quite a long time to see the doctor. They seem over-crowded. Supposedly they are expanding, but I havent seen any substantial construction progress on the north side of their floor for the last 6 months.Someone should probably report Ossip to the Federal Trade Commission for deceptive business practices. They make it sound like you have to get the $45 add on retinal exam using their latest technology (Optomap/OCT screening), and the form you are required to fill out has no option to decline this service, but I found out from another customer that its optional. Conveniently for their benefit, this form doesnt print out in the new patient forms packet for customers.Their invoices are impossible to make sense of, with cryptic line items that only make sense to a professional. Please Ossip, make your invoices readable by mere mortals, and simplify your pricing structure. It might reduce the vast number of negative reviews you get.Every pair of glasses I get, or I hear anyone else getting, takes a few weeks to arrive. Why so long? With as many locations as they have now, and with scamming patients out of $45 (or more) every exam, youd think they could afford to increase production capacity.
Great customer service and thorough eye exam. Dr Joan Frank is Wonderful and very knowledgeable. Always enjoy my time when i am there. Continue the greatness Team Ossip!!!
This company is all about the money. They are polite at the downtown location and sell high-end glasses, but their highest priority is getting into your pocket. They perform expensive and unnecessary tests on any and every patient who walks through their door and is willing to pay for them. Young people with no ocular problems dont need OCT testing!
While the checkup portion is good, having an appointment is nearly pointless. Every time I have gone, I end up waiting 25+ minutes past the appointment time before being called back for the pre-doctor tests. That’s certainly not the way we honor appointments in my line of work.
Ossip is Awesip! They are THE ONE AND ONLY provider of state of the art eye care and eye wear in town. Each and every Ossip location employs medically trained, REAL doctors (Ophthalmologists) who use the latest and greatest high-tech equipment that can detect not only vision problems, but health problems - before they become problems. If you need glasses, you get to choose from the worlds best selection of eye wear. Ossip has exclusive brands like Oliver Peoples and Matsuda (my faves). Geez, I sound like an ad for Ossip, right?
Luis is amazing.. He went above and beyond the limits of customer service to help me.. You guys have a winner in this guy!Thank you again, Luis for all your help!
The staffs are very kind and helpful however I feel their costs are very inflated. Other than cost I think they are pretty good service.
I wish I could submit with no stars. Ossip sucks.Ossip has screwed me TWICE. I got lied to by Michelle and Kelly at the downtown location TODAY! Dont go people... dont give them your money.
Great frame selection and good equipment. I felt at ease and the doctor was great at explaining why I needed glasses.
Everyone was so nice and helpful.
Dont even think about it. Then have hidden fees that they dont tell you even after your insurance covers the cost. I am not referring to co-pay my dear. This place has charges that they say your insurance company does not cover. The service is also ridiculous.
Extremely friendly staff, very clean space and Dr. Weibert was tremendous and quite helpful!
Went to the Broad Ripple location. Everything was expensive and they were just pushing paperwork in front of me trying to get me to sign for 80-100$ tests that wasnt covered without any explanation. Then I checkout and its like $250 out of pocket. No explanation. Im trying to figure out line items with dilated eyes. They made it an easy decision to find a new place.
I am very surprised that this location only has a 2 star review?!I have never had an eye exam before and decided that now that I am 34...I mean 27 that I should start using the vision insurance and free eye exam that I get each year. I decided to go to the downtown location because of the fact that I work downtown. Also if I ended up liking Dr. Julie Weibert then I want to continue to see her regardless of where I live. When I walked in I was checked in quickly but there was an issue with my insurance. Basically my medical and vision are rolled into 1 and they were having issues verifying it. But the gal at the desk was very professional and diligent to get it all taken care of before I was done with my exam.I was taken back by a guy who was friendly and explained all the different tests that they do to check for eye stuff. He was just all around a great guy and even found the dumb things I had to say funny. When all the flashy lights were done being shinned into my eyes I waited for just a few minutes for Dr. Weibert to come in. When she arrived she was great. I just loved the energy she had as well as her personality. You could tell that she really had a passion for eye care and wanted to make this as comfortable as possible. She asked a lot of questions to really get to know me and why I was there. As well as any issues that I may have been experiencing. When it was all said and done she explained everything to me very well and even showed me all the results of my exam. It was neat...and gross all at the same time.I had this horrible image in my head of how an eye exam would be and it was all the opposite of what I was expecting. It was overall a great experience and now I have an eye doctor for as long as she practices. I would strongly recommend her to anyone either new or repeat.
They will run tests not covered by your insurance and will make you come back for an in person visit before they let you order contacts. Not worth it. Should have went to walmart.
Dont go here. Products are way overpriced. Staff is rude and unhelpful. And they tried to rip me off by billing me and my insurer for the same charges.
Very professional, caring & helpful! I highly recommend them!!
