This is the 2nd Sundance Spa that I have purchased from Carefree Spas. The 1st one lasted over 15 years! This time, I dealt directly with the owner, Ken Leonard. I have more respect for this small business owner than I have ever had with anyone else. In these difficult, unpredictable times, it is nice to do business with someone you can count on. I cant imagine how hard it has been to run a small business during this pandemic. Regardless, the entire staff at Carefree Spas was awesome. The delivery / installation crew took the time to go through everything with me and explain how things work and how to care for my new spa. If you are looking for a quality hot tub with excellent service, I highly recommend purchasing a Sundance Spa at Carefree Spas!!

We purchased a Grandee Hot Spring Spa with cover and lift from Carefree Spas in August 2016. It was delivered and installed by Care Free Spas shortly thereafter. Within a few months, the seams in the middle of the cover started stretching and eventually tore apart. I talked with Ken Leonard at Care Free Spas about it and expected to have the cover replaced by warranty. Mr. Leonard told me that the tears were not caused by defect but by our misuse. He eventually sent me a new zipper case to replace the one which was torn on our cover. We had decided to replace the lift with a better one, so we went to a different Hot Spring dealer that was closer to us. When the Hot Spring certified service technician came to our home to replace the lift, he told us that the lift which was originally installed was not a Hot Spring brand and that it was not made to be used on the Hot Spring cover and tub. Holes had been drilled in the walls of the tub in areas that were not intended to be supportive for the cover lift. The arm of the lift was just stuck in a space in the middle of the cover which was lifting it and causing it to tear and not seal correctly. He installed a genuine Hot Spring brand lift according to Hot Spring specifications and helped us replace the torn case on the cover. When I called Mr. Leonard to tell him what I had learned, he said he uses this other brand of lifts all the time and that it was our misuse that had damaged the cover. Had we not replaced the lift, the new cover case would have torn within a few months. If you buy a Hot Spring Spa with cover lift, be sure you are getting a Hot Spring Brand lift or your cover might be damaged like the pictures below. Had the correct lift been installed correctly with our tub, we wouldnt have had a torn cover, and we wouldnt have had to purchase a new $400 lift just 12 months from the installation of the first one.
I had these guys come take a look at my hot tub for a problem I suspected. They came on the day of the appointment. It took me 8 days of calling them, often multiple times a day, to get a review of what they found during the inspection. They claimed they left a pink slip......I’ve never seen it and weather was not a factor on the day in question. They told me they were waiting on me to see how I wanted them to proceed. I won’t be working with them anytime soon. If they really cared about my business I feel like they would have called back sooner than this.
Ken, Clint and TJ were awesome! I would have to say that they are one of the best run, caring companies I have ever dealt with. I do not write reviews often. Actually, I have written only a few. They need to be praised. My overall experience from buying, financing, customer service and installation was next to none. I wish everyone who had a company modeled Sundance! Very pricey not so friendly
Our experience with Sundance Spas has been wonderful. From the first time we walked into their showroom, we have received top notch service. Their sales rep, Greg, has gone above and beyond to outfit us with a spa perfect for our needs. There was never any pressure to upsell us on a more expensive model. We found their pricing to be lower than their nearest competitor, especially with the value-add products and services included in the purchase price. Our installation went seamlessly and installers were very professional and helpful. Even 6 months later, Greg is still fielding our newbie questions and helping us to optimally maintain our investment. We couldnt be more satisfied. We highly recommend Carefree Spas! Purchased a Hot Springs Salt Water Spa. It is the 4th spa I have owned and absolutely love it! I did run into an issue, but what I really appreciate is that Ken is a local owner and worked with Jeff who came out, figured out the problem, replaced the parts and the tub is back working perfectly!! Ken called me a few days ago to check in and insure the tub was working to my satisfaction and that I was happy. Hot tubs do break, the good thing is that you have a local company that knows what they are doing to fix the problem.
I have been completely satisfied with the sales and service. They have always taken care of any issues that we have had quickly and effectively. We will always come back here for anything we need.
They held my order for a long time while it was too crummy to go out. They explained how to use the chemicals I was buying and helped me understand some issues Id been having with my hot tub.

We scheduled an appointment slightly over a week ahead of time. Carefree had told us they wanted someone to be home to teach us how to use and care for the spa. I took the day off of work in order to be there. The spa is located in a new house that we had just purchased, we have not yet moved in. I got to the house at 10am to fill up the hot tub at their request and waited for them all day in the new house. At 1pm, they left a message saying they would be there between 145pm-150pm. GREAT! 230pm comes around, no one. I called to inquire and left a message. My husband called and left a message for the maintained guy, then called the company to inquire where he was. At around 302pm we got a text message saying that they were held up at a previous job, but were done and on their way. At 5pm, we called back.... no response. We called again at 6pm, again no response. At 605pm we got a text message saying they ran into a lot of problems and would just have to come the next day. I dont know if the worker was high, distracted at the other job, but you dont give a 5 minute time window not show up, then promise you will show up, only to not show up again. My husband called to ask for another employee to come out the next day, but we were promised that Theo was reliable, but was just really busy the day before.The next day, miraculously they did show up. They refilled the hot tub (as they said some of the water leaked out overnight). THEY LEFT THE HOSE ON!!! The hose was running all night, the whole next day. Simply overflowing the hot tub, overflowing the deck, water seeping in under the deck/house/sunroom. We are only lucky that we caught it within a day. We dont live there, could you imagine if we wouldve have caught the leak for weeks? What if we were away on vacation? We called multiple times to speak with a manager, but had a very very tough time getting a hold of anyone except a secretary. Finally, a manager called us back the next day with a very curt apology in passing. He apologized for the WEATHER? SERIOUSLY??? Serious damage could have occurred because of their negligence of leaving the hose on. Hundreds of gallons of water overflowing on our house/deck/sunroom!!! They didnt offer to come out to evaluate any damages or offer any concessions.They then proceeded to give a laundry list of what could potentially be wrong with the hot tub without fully being able to evaluate it. They refused to give us an estimate, but said they would only be able to tell us the cost of parts and labor.I STRONGLY URGE ANYONE WHO IS EVEN THINKING ABOUT USING THIS BUSINESS TO STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!! They are completely unreliable, unable to get in touch with, negligent and dont take responsibility for their actions. I also think they are able to cheat people out of money by raking up an enormous bill without giving an estimate. I will be reporting them the to Better Business Bureau for their poor business practices.
