Pro tip: come to the food court for tasty authenic Asian breakfast.I missed these asian breakfast items from Taiwan & Hong Kong, they offers multi-kinds of soy milk, dim sum, fried dough sticks, thousand year old egg congee and much more. They also have amazing food for lunches too, like roasted duck, soya chicken etc.Come for the grocery and stay for the food.
I ordered 6 big fresh Tilapia fish and needed it fried. Gave instructions to cut the tails off, slice the steak, add some salt to it and regular fry it. Guess what! The fish was fried whole, the only thing they got right.I wasnt surprised because at first encounter, the crew member was grumpy, and rude. Had I discovered the state of the fish then, I would have returned it but I had already arrived home, some 50 miles away. I am still angry about it.Otherwise, the whole store is clean and well stocked with a great variety of mostly Oriental groceries. Go and visit.
This market specializes in Asian foods and ingredients. Meats and fruit cater to Asian comfort foods. It is a culinary adventure!
Good store for shopping Asian international foods. Clean fresh produce and stock grocery shelves. Floors clean and friendly cashiers.
The store has been upgraded. It is so clean and pleasant to go shopping here. They specialize in Southeast Asian grocery items, with other products from other parts of the world, too. If you are used to places like Vons or Safeway, you will find the shopping here entirely different! Even the housewares are unique and fascinating. Its a large, easy to navigate space with several kiosks inside including a hot food bar, a bakery, and a travel agency.
Big, bright, clean Asian supermarket with a nice selection of Asia fruits and veggies, packaged foods and household items. Very neat and organized. But, not a huge selection from any one area (bits from Southeast Asia, Korea, etc.). In my opinion, just does not measure up to the level of selection at H-Mart, but really what place does?
Great place for groceries and everyday home needs. Well maintained and very clean. It is open everyday between 8am and 10pm.
Cleanest and most modern 99 Ranch. Not super cramped like most Asian super markets tend to be.
Cheap & good selection of Asian foodSometimes they will have strange snacks on their counter, make sure to grab it while it lasts because most of the time they will not restock those exotic itemsAfter they renovate the fresh section, its very clean and pleasure to shop, even though aome aisles might need more lighting
Like always the best!Today i went to the seafood area and got to see that employees are great with customers and decided to buy a live fish (big mouth) the person who helped me it was so professional and very friendly as the rest of the crew who work in the seafood dept.***Great job management in how to train employees with customer needs.****
Everyone wore masks and kept 6 feet distance. Safety dividers at check out. The only thing is that entrance and exit are the same with about 6 feet wide space to pass through. (-1 star) This was the quietest shopping experience Ive had, which was calming for me. Usually there are a lot of overhead announcements and music playing loudly, but Im glad that when I went it was quiet so I can focus on getting in and out quickly with my groceries list.
Food is cheap or fair price, but air condition needs to be better.
Been to many 99 ranch but by far the one is the cleanest ive ever been to.
Very organized and clean. Cashiers friendliness is average.
Shopping cart is so dirty and the handle feels sticky, i dont think there is any staff clean it. The seat belt is always broken, so dangerous for the kids!
One of our favorite stores for shopping. Great fresh fruits and vegetable selections. We are able find many grocery items we dined on during our travels to Japan. We are also able to find great selections of Chinese, Korean and Tai groceries for our meal preparations.
Modern design. It looked very be and clean.
It was amazing everything that I needed was there and freshness of the seafood was A+. The cleanliness of the store and Customer Service was superb. I love shopping here.
Clean with fresh produce and good prices . Love this market
Im always shopping here for something! Was kinda interesting to see my kids take interest in a box full of LIVE crabs that we could pick up with a pair of tongs and then do whatever we wanted to with. My kids love the fish section of this place as always kids would enjoy lol
Parking is a bit difficult. Nice produce.
One of my favorite. They accept wechat pay and Alipay
This place is vast and diversed!! Love it
I purchased some fish and requested them to be fried. Customer service was good but I wouldnt request them to fry it for me again. The fish tested bad from the old frying oil they have. It tested like they never changed it in long time. I would rather take it and fry home next time.
We havent been there in while, and the store has been almost completely redone! The aisles are wider, and the shelves updated and modern. Very much nicer. All the frozen food counters are modern and have closing sliders. Now, they need to address the fish counter and clean those fish tanks.
Great seafood, worth visiting just for the seafood. Parking spots are compact, can be difficult to find a parking spot.
The 99 ranch near Culver drive has the bad customer service, and the food always expired. If you shop over there, you need be careful of the food expire date, Caution: even some still in safe day, you need to careful to see and feel, because last time I bought some rotten fully cooked beef with mold. And don’t buy too much there, no one gonna help except until you speak loudly for that! I told the stuff I need to complain it. And then they called the market manger by the broadcast microphone. You know what After almost half hour, nobody came. I saved the manager name, phone number and back home. But feel they are the shame of Asian market!Their managers and some stuffs all the time talking each other and didn’t work and no care about the customers. They looks like the person who already disappeared from mainland China. No customer service, no respect, rotten food, even no stuffs really do their works. They’re kind of shame.Where can I report them or any law can be used to sue them?As a Asian, really felt shame and angry, how hard our Asian people lived here, but those people destroyed asian reputations, they even don’t know how to be kind people! I don’t know why their company didn’t keep a eye on those which influence their business. Or no government apartments to control or punish? Or no law in USA to protect customers’s services?!That’s the part so shocked!
Cannot live without this place. Nice renovation.
I like their sweet soybean milk and donuts for breakfast.
I always considered this the most organized and cleanest of all the 99 Ranch stores Ive shopped at
Their hot food section is doing false advertising. Their braised pork rice (滷肉飯) is not the normal braised pork rice you see at restaurants. Their version of braised pork rice (梅菜扣肉) is a different dish with pickled vegetables. I like it too, but then they should just change the name. These 2 dishes are completely different kind of braised pork.
Have not visited in a long while. Looks nice after renovation.
There is a large asian community based theme so if you are asian its good. But otherwise there was nothing I could use or have ever even seen before so I had to shop elsewhere. The people were very polite and friendly, just not my cup of tea.
If youre into Oriental shopping this is the place to go. It is also in a mall that has everything in it too. One stop shop!
Good and quality produce and meat but it was way too expensive.
Knowledgable and friendly staff. Many Asian foods, specializing in Chinese. If you are looking for KWEICHOW MOUTAII, they have it in stock! 😋
Great supermarket, fresh produce and an awesome variety of fruits and veggies!
Wow! This store is so nice and clean since the remodel. I feel like there is a larger selection of produce than before. And all the store associates are so friendly! This is my new favorite 99 Ranch.
My favorite 99 ranch out of the 3 in Irvine. The layout is much wider and better compared to the other two.
As always hard to park during rush hours small parking lot
Good selection of merchandise and a convenient location just off of 5 but severely limited parking. Forget about going at lunchtime.
Staff is super helpful when you cant find what your looking for =)
Went here for the first time. Tried the deli and stood in line. But time after time they continued to help other people that cam up after me. It got to a point where I was waving my hands like Im next and they ignored me. Seems like if you are not of asian descent. They ignore you. I ended up just walking out.
Mostly Asian food fresh and reasonable for budget..go and trying hurry up no more stock,
Lots of selection of products that most stores dont have. Could have more ready to eat fresh meals. They used to have more.
Greatest place for Asian grocery.
Nice asian grocery. Looks real nice with the renovations and attention to detail in the display. The live seafood section is being renovated now so there is nothing there.
I love the 99 ranch markets, they remind me of my childhood and have great produce at great prices.
The market staffs are really careful about all the safety measures. Lots of variety of things, newly remodel freezers are clean and ambient lighting is great. The sales ladies at deli work really hard, they deserve our support plus the bbq items and dim sum are excellent!!
Great place to shop, has huge selection. The only problem I have here is the shelf stocker people werent able to help me because of language barrier.
My localish store for items different from Ralphs,Vons and etc. Strong Chinese influenced products.
.. nice, neat, organize store with fully stocks.. Carry variety of Asian products, fresh meats, fish, seafoods, ect.. Variety Asians FRUITss, Korean pear, FUji apples, Manila mangoes, fresh coconuts, papaya Hawaiian, Thai banana, Mexican banana, various types of 🍏apples🍎 n grapes, n exotic VNAMESE n Chinese FRUITss..: longans, lychee, mangosteen, ect..*Nice indoor..;: cooked kitchen deli foods, n bakery as well..nice n politeness cashiers n staffs as well
I shop here for all the things that my grandmother taught me to cook with. Love this store and the section.
Over priced tamales, meat market isnt fresh after few days.
This is the place for anything in Chinese food culture. The selection of fresh fish is outstanding. So no matter what youre in the mood for, they likely have it. The fish mongers are kinda funny too. They entertain me! They have quite a selection of Asian veggies and fruits as well. Plus, if youre a big hot pot fan like my wife and I are, you will find everything you need, including the hot pot, here for your hot pot gathering. Its pretty cool. Be warned, if this is your first time that youll be heading into the market, the fish smell is strong. So just be prepared. But after youre there a while, youll hardly notice it. Doesnt even bother me anymore as I shop here frequently. I still smell it, but its expected and I dont mind.
This location has a lot of options, and is one of their larger stores. A portion of the store is under construction, so some of the aisles are narrower than usual, but theyve done a great job placing inventory in a way that is easy enough to maneuver around. My daughter was excited to see all the Hello Kitty options and turned it into a scavenger hunt to see how many items Hello Kitty represented. The produce was fresh, the meat was well stocked, and I look forward to returning to see whats going to fill the construction zone.
Wide variety of Asian products including meats, fruits and sauces..bakery and hot foods onsite
Many dead fishes were floating in the live fish tank
Its clean has alot of asian foods fish and produce also clean the lines are long thats the only problem
Cheap and the bakery is py good deal
It hurts me to post this review but all fruits we bought had fungus growing in just 2 days of purchase - pineapples, oranges, mangoes and young coconuts all had to be thrown
Newly enlarged. Great selection.
I am glad thAt I found Asian grocery store in Irvine. It’s my remedy! I love to shop fishes in 99 Ranch, I just wish they will upgraded all kinds of varians from Asian’s food.... especially from Indonesia. :)
The best Rach Market I ever visited. Clean and nice environment. Complete selection of asian product, meat (such as sliced sukiyaki beef, etc).
Re-decoration, food items are pretty complete and well arranged.Certainly is a good place to shop Asian food!
Ouch. Christmas eve over an hour to get lobster. Only 2 guys behind the counter. Painful. They should have had 6!
Amazing, amazing grocery store :’) Love the selection and also hot foods!
Very nice! Very clean! Good value. Good assortment.
I am a petit Asian woman and I am hearing impaired. I was here trying to shop two weeks ago, around 8:30 am in the morning. I wasn’t allowed to go inside even though I had a face mask on. Another Caucasian woman in her 30’s came around the same time with me but she was allowed to go inside to shop. It was all because she quickly said, ‘I am disabled’ when she saw I wasn’t allowed to go in. She was obviously an able person walking on her own two feet, yet no ID or questions were asked of her. I am wondering about your store policy. Are you too afraid to stop a Caucasian shopper yet you can bully an Asian woman who have hearing disability? Please retrain your employee who guards the store entrance and review your store policy promptly.
Store seems to be cleaner than in the past. Lime leaves were air-quality. More packaged proteins vs from the counter but still fresh.
Customer service needs to be improved.
Wow! 99 Ranch Market must be doing well. They remodeled it and its almost Fancy!! Looking good 99 Ranch Market!
My favorite location for quality asian food and ingredients
I love this place
They’re upgrading now.
Much better organized after their remodel. Isles are wider and friendlier to walk through.
Newly updated remodel, nice selection but the parking, long lines and overall hassel of getting in & out makes me wanna avoid this place.
Honestly one of the nicest 99 markets I have ever been to.
NO returns... Poor Quality... DO NOT buy any kitchenware from them.Bought a large steamer pot from them. It was too big, so we took it back to exchange for a medium sized one. But they were out of it and we can NOT even return the one we just bought. Their reason was no return due to covid-19. What kind of excuse was that??? COSTCO, Walmart and many other stores still accept returns.#%$@, we took it back home and my wife started to use it. The inside base of the aluminum steamer pot turned black after a couple of use. One month later the plastic lid handle was broken loose. Conclusion: the kitchenware sold in 99 ranch market has very poor quality.
Recently remodeled. Seems like a lot more space than before. The quality of the vegetables is good.
Good service
Nice market
They are remodeling, looks nice so far. Has everything you might need from an Asian market.
Good variety of groceries for all Asians.
Remember live food?! Ranch 99 remembers!
After 10+ years of missing this place I took the chance to seek it out and explore it after my visit to my doctors office which is coincidentally around 4.7 miles away! Originally I was just hoping to get a few sauces and aromatics/herbs,but my cart expanded a little due to the wide selection of the place. Its definitely changed for the better from when I had visited as a child of 5-6 years old and when I last visited as a teen of 16 years of age.27 year old me was floored by prices on the fresh produce especially on that of the herbs, mushrooms (more types than youd imagine at any western store from dried to fresh) and aromatics like Galangal, Lemongrass,Tumeric Root, etc.Of course I treated myself to buying these along with Laoganma Chili Oil with Black soybeans, Chinkiang Vinegar (black vinegar for those not using it or familiar with it), Tofu thread (aesthetically cut tofu resembling strands of thread), MSG (potent umami agent, not as bad as what propaganda would have you believe). Will definitely return for another trip or visit this locations sister stores in the city of Irvine or wherever they may be.10/10 experience
Has almost anything you might be looking for in Asian produce, sauces, etc. The irvine location is clean and well stocked. Cant give a 5 star cause I dont see anyone sanitizing carts which I feel is important right now with covid 19.
Good to shop for Asian productsCant bring your own grocery bag during covid 19, but store wont provide cheap plastic bags like other stores. Cashier always trying to sell bag. Not nice during covid 19
Zero customer service.I will never go there.
Clean noce
Has everything youd expect from an Asian grocery store. Even better is that next door is an Asian restaurant that sells BBQ pork etc by the pound
Best place for Chinese groceries that you cant find anywhere else. Somewhat dirty and staff is mediocre at best.
I bought some salmon and urchin for Sushi and there are so fresh.
Nice store. Everyone was friendly and professional.
