Today around 12:20pm i was in a cashier line to check out. Had mask on, my own grocery bag . The cashier by Name Young Mi (on my receipt ) greeted the customer in front of me and a short talk When it was my turn,.I said hello as i always do in check out but she did not talk, no eye contact, just announced the balance .I paid by card and said Thank you .Again no talk by her, I witnessed she greeted the customer after me with smile .Both customers before and after me were Asian American .FYI i am not Asian American and that would explain her customer service .
Great local market to find what we need to prepare some of our meals. Be sure to try the restaurants located inside the store. They also have a good bakery, just get there early for the best selection, thongs tend to sell out quickly.
Be aware! They trick you with their price tags. Purposely not labeling things clearly, so they can charge you more at checkout. They count on people not paying attention or finding it’s too much trouble to ask for adjustment at Customer Services (normally no one is there). Rude and no customer services.
A huge wide selection of Asian groceries (when I say Asian, it only means Chinese/ Korean). I had heard they have good variety of veggies & fruits, it does look they do but i have been there couple of times now and everything is either not fresh or spoiled & the rates felt higher too.I only go because it’s right across the street from me & sometimes I have veggie emergency but I would not recommend the store.
The attitude of the store manager and seafood department staff is very bad! Even swearing at customers! Never go again!
Almost all the customers are rude. The fried chicken makes it worth it. If I had the choice I would request it for my last meal.
They are currently observing covet 19 distancing and temperature check outside the store. Wait time up to 10 minutes. Not much distancing inside the store at all 😲😥. Located just off Irvine Boulevard ample parking, a wonderful selection of produce, fish and other Asian items. Find other customers a little rude and pushy 😥
I like to visit this lovely Korean grocery store in Irvine. They always carry many variety of fruits and vegetables. Since I’m Japanese, I always buy their thin cut beef of pork which most stores don’t carry in US. That’s very plus to me! I sometimes buy their Salmon for sashimi and make own sushi at home. They are not so expensive and tasty!
Decent asian market. Cheaper than H-mart and mitsuwa.
Everything you can think of when you want to buy Asian (or Asian inspired) food or ingredients.
Love the pre-made foods. The best I have ever eaten. I travel all.the way from San Diego..
Great place! Clean, organized and low prices.
Its a great ethnic store with interesting assortment of various food, usually has great produce at great prices. I usually go there if I fancy raw fish (great selection of fish, in general) or instant noodles - they got like 20 different brands. They also have great ready-made foods, but heres the issue: there is no express line and its a pain to stand in line behind a couple of full carts if you only there to grab something quick. They desperately need an express line.
Git all the Korean and some other Asian food. Good deal on the advertising produce.
Hypermarket with a Korean theme. Fruits and vegetables of high quality
Through the pandemic this supermarket has been a main source of fresh food and fruits. I especially like their wide selection of fresh meats and fruits. The lines at checkout can get long but they have many cash registers to get you out quickly. You need to wear a mask and temperatures are checked at the entrance. You can still bring your own grocery bags. Stay safe, eat healthy.
Meat products are good but fruits are not fresh
I LOVE this store, but...My favorite is marinated Korean BBQ. It is always good. The sushi pre-made is good and priced right. Moves super fast and fresh. Fish is good too. Rate this *****Take the good with the bad. Customers are pushy and rude. For us non-Asian people who need to look for names and ingredients they are atrocious. Can I fault the store for this? maybe, just pointing out the obvious.**They charge for bags and then throw everything together in one bag. Cashiers dont get paid enough to deal with the rudeness so they get a pass.**Parking lot is BAD People do not look and drive awful*Prices are good for fruit but it is not all good. I find that if I buy fruit there I have to eat in a day or two. I also get those pesky fruit flies, so I stopped buying fruit here altogether. I would rather pay more at Ralphs or go to Costco.
This is the place great for fresh raw Korean BBQFresh fish. Veg, Spice, teas
I love this market. Great prices, awesome selection, polite staff.
What not to like? Great variety of Oriental food with prices second to none. Prepared dishes are excellent and the produce brings people from all over Orange County to shop.
Food is cheap and well organized. Customer service can be improved however
I LOVE this store! Probably my favorite... I get all the best meats for my kbbq or shabu at home. The cashiers are so sweet all the time, the staff is very helpful, the prices are great, and what else can I say? Its awesome
Varied and interesting selection of primarily Asian themed products. Watch for the deals on rice and produce at checkout. I primarily go here to pick up 20lb. Bags of rice (sometimes at $9.99) to be donated to my Churchs food pantry. Would check the store out more regularly, but I no longer live in the immediate area.
Very busy but well organized and staffed with good deals.
Very rude cashier. Over charged sales item.after complain refunded but not even say sorry😒
Fresh vegetables and food. The place is clean and has wide aisles to shop easily.
Prepped Korean banchan is really pricy here, and the selection is pretty thin. The produce section has some good deals, but its not organized in any discernable manner, pretty haphazard. It could use a refresh in organization. Some of the produce is obviously on sale because its old, buyer beware.
The donuts is a must try item in this Zion. $3 each is expensive but the taste is outstanding. The best donuts in Irvine.
Lots of Korean food products. They also sell premade sushi.
This place is pretty big, compared to Mitsuwa. Everything is made in korea.
Big Korean supermarket. Goods are good.
Wish to have fresher vegetables
I use to go to Zion a lot, but this is going to be my last time. So crowded with no social distance at the cashier. They rush you for packing your groceries on your own, telling you people are waiting. Hurry up! I actually pack as quick as I am, even without putting groceries in the bag. Maybe I went in the wrong time, but the experience is just horrible.
Eat more mushrooms less Shellfish. I hope Laguna is nicer and more friendly and you can have your own rainbow shells because they deserve them too.
I want to give this place five stars, but there have been some inconsistency in their produce section that I cant overlook. Unless youre telling me Ive got this uncanny skill of picking bad apples every time, someone else should pick my fruits. From apples to mangoes and sometimes pears, Ive accepted this unfortunate secret power of mine, but luckily, there are other items that bring me joy when I come here.I shop here probably 1-2x a month to fill up on grocery, snacks and their prepared foods. Some of my most interesting finds appear when I spend a bit more time in the aisles like Milk Tea Choco Pie, Corn Ice Cream, frozen marinated crab, soup packets and a wide variety of kombu (or dried seaweed). I love trying new things, so if it sparks a bit of curiosity, I am down to give it a try.Its also a one-stop shop for an easy and quick lunch when the cravings hit for gimbap, tteokbokki, soondae and soups. The deli area has a pretty solid selection of side dishes and hot food items! I pick up the usual - seaweed salad, bean sprouts, spinach, kimchi, pickled radishes and pancake. And the seafood and meat variety is really great too. I bought their salmon sashimi here recently to make poke at home and it was delicious. The sliced frozen beef and pork are also things I typically keep on hand for stir fry dishes or shabu at home. The best is when their marinated short ribs are on sale for $8.99 lbs. (give me 4lbs)!Whatever you come here for, theres always something to bring home. Zion has great prices for produce and I often find myself shopping more than I anticipated.
Location is good. Thats about it.
Cant pronounce most of the food here but that is why I like it! Zion Market has a wide variety of groceries and asian products. They have multiple different stands on the left hand side where you can buy a quick ready to eat meal. Overall a fun and pleasant experience.
Unique experience. The Korean hot dog etc was bomb! Loved the grocery specials. Clean very efficient, lots of cashiers to help.
Love this place! I come here all the time.
Good place to shop for Korean foods.
Pastry place there has a wide assortment to pick from, with prices that are way too low.
Easy access, most Asian food primarily Korean, excellent prices on fruits and vegetables. Wonderful small food court inside and everyone gets a touch less temperature check at the door! 😷
Very good place it use the thermometer check everyone temperature in the entrance but I think need more hand sanitizer inside the store
Great place to shop!
Good variety and reasonable prices
I truly felt so unsafe here.First of all, the person checking temperatures didn’t even check what the temperature was before allowing people in. At the front, there were no carts so people in line were just picking up unclean carts from the parking lot! Also, no wipes for people to clean carts. When i was finally inside, i was shocked by how many people were inside - there were easily over a hundred people inside. No one was practicing social distancing. No one sanitizing. I felt bad for the workers there... i cant imagine how unsafe they are feeling everyday. There were so many people that we had to wait about 20 min to check out. There weren’t any signs to stand six feet apart at the checkout either.I did see signs at the register about having no more than 70 people inside, but clearly they had way more people and no one was even counting. Please make improvements so your customers and employees both feel safe!
Great variety of chinese / asain products
This store deserves NO star (one star just for the purpose of posting)! Extremely rude and no-knowledgeable site staffs with wrong responses to customers question/inquiry (had to go back and forth from one end to the other end of the store several times with no resolution to find an item). No basic customer service etiquette of packer at checkout counter (asked twice since could not understand his response; he was quite upset and showed a scarily body movement with teeth grinding and eyes flamed with anger). Several cashiers and employees at the store were just looking at as if nothing unusual is happening or as if it is all my fault to ask twice; I guess this episode is this stores daily life as usual.
Lots of Asian food choices, reasonably priced.
I am writing my frustration with the Zion market at this location in this review as I have no other way to contact the corporate office. I hope and plead that the corporate office would contact me to discuss further on this matter as I am very upset as to how my wife was treated badly by their staff. My wife had the worst experience with the employee and the store manager today at this location. Simply they lack any care for the customer. It started with the worst attitude by the employee at the counter but the situation got worst when it was addressed to the store manager via a phone call because the store manager was not available at the store. In the call, the store manager did not care as to why my wife was disappointed with their customer service. The store manager was so focused on explaining to my wife as to how busy they are that they don’t have the time to listen to my wife and hung up. Hence this review, trying to contact the corporate office. I now have some understanding as to why the employee did not care for the customer after listening to my wife of her experience with the store manager. How can a store manager train her employees about customer service when she doesn’t have any understanding of the customer service, blind leading blind.
Great prices and selection of asian-korean grocery
All the korean food you can get
Grocery store with restaurants inside and in the plaza. Convenient
Great place for sushi, marinated meat, fresh veggies or asian snacks. I bike here every week to pick stuff up for my family and it’s really convenient, and really safe for covid (they check temperature before entering)
Im Korean. Need I say more? 😉
This is my favorite grocery store. They have so many options and their sushi is always fresh. If you love Asian cuisine. Go here!!!!!
Really liked tgis place specially if you are looking for korean food.
I love getting all my KBBQ meats and banchan sides here for my Korean food cravings, especially during these times when cooking at home more. The Korean fried chicken joint inside in the small food court is also a great place to grab food.
Fresh produce at good price, look for seasonal managers special
I come here to get meat for bbq. Good selection of fruits and vegetables as well. However, a lot of the cheap produce are not fresh.
Interesting variety of Asian products and in store vendors such as a bakery and mochi donuts. Loved that they are taking your temperature prior to entering, not foolproof but safer.
They have poor products all the time.specially apple is bad
Their fruits spoil rather too quickly, as quick as the next day. Very often, their fruits and vegetables on sale are not edible because they already started to spoil. About 10 minutes before closing time, the security guard goes around yelling at everyone to take the cart to the cash register, making one feel like a criminal for shopping late.
Always enjoy Zion Market, awesome fruit and veg selection and very well priced. You will get almost any Asian ingredient for cooking here.
Good market for Korean groceries.
They lost my mushroom. Urrgh.
Huge if you are Asian. Glad they have a store that sells the things they are use to cooking.
Variety of all kinds of Asian food and produces. However, do not understand why customers can not take the empty boxes for someone who buys a lot of items. We have a SUV, brought too many items and live far away. Need a box to carry but the lady manager said it not allowed since it is their policy.
It was a Korean market with lots of good foods. I loved the wall of kim Chee! They even had fish balls for soup. My friend got some lobster balls and they were the best! I have to go all the way to OC to get those lobster balls. Cant wait to go back!
Great food ..fast service and very kind a people..love that
The go to place for Korean groceries
Too many food items were expired or close to expiring!
Still not exactly my favorite place for grocery shopping. The fruits goes bad quicker than other stores. But the price is a little better. So if anyone wish to buy some fruit and veggie and to have them eaten right away, this may be a fair place to go.
The produce is the best priced of any grocery chain. Lots of variety as well. Meats and seafood of all kinds.
Asian Market only. Would be nice if they offered some Wester brands as well. The Vons/Pavillion has been gone for years so it would be a nice compromise.
Great go-to grocery market, ridiculously low prices for fruits and veggies, as well as a good selection of Korean/Asian foods you might not even find at Hmart. They have a security guard scanning peoples temperatures before entering which is always good too
A large scale Korean grocery with a food court
Good selection. Nice to see them taking COVID very seriously. Temporal scans before entering.
A grocery store with reasenable price
I had a very bad experience today. An Asian man grabs my paid groceries and dumps it in the cart. Did not ask if I had bags. Which i did. Also, he ripped one of the bags. Awful service.
Great selection of Asian groceries. They also have a couple restaurants that you can order food from.
Very broad selection of my favorite Asian food and snack. They even have frozen pre prep soup mix so it all you have to do is throw the ingredients in a pot and start the magic. Good customer service got in and out pretty fast considering my larger order. F
Good customer service
The store was a favorite of our family for getting Korean food and ingredients. During this most recent visit, it seems like that the store is less well kept up with the general appearance of the store showing age and getting a bit run down. The produce seems less fresh that it was in the past. Perhaps I caught the store on a bad day? But somehow I think it is more the norm as opposed to an aberration.
Great asian food market and great prices. Many varieties for face masks for $5+ as well!
Good prices for Korean Japanese, and other Asian products.
