Best REI EVER! Shout out to the good helpful boys Connor and Jack for the footwear help. HUGE THANKS to the best human ever Megan for helping me size for a pack one day and then helping me again in footwear the following day. Megan is the backbone of this REI - the only dude whose name I forgot. Thanks yall for making my first trip to REI the most welcoming and being so helpful every single employee always talking to a customer helping them out! So yeah go here if you havent its awesome.EDIT: Zave (awesome name) was superb and knew just what would work perfectly for me first try. Then Billy, well I could have talked to Billy till closing time and then some but I let him get on and help other customers and spread those good vibes of his.

Wow! I am so impressed with everyone there. Darell helping at the front door was incredibly friendly with such great energy. Jack at the shoe department was amazing listening to my foot problems and picked out some shoes that really helped my issues. He went above and beyond to look up durability reviews! Even when I checked out the front desk helpers we happy and helpful. Honestly changed my day from being a little hard to having a new perspective. Thank you!

All the employees here seem to just love their jobs and like they want to be there. The man in the shoe section, I think his name was Jack(?), Was so helpful and really on top of things. He listened to what I needed and recommended what he thought would work best. He didnt let anyone in his section go without a check in for very long either. Then, when we got to checkout, the lady at the register was so nice and happy to be there too! Just an overall excellent experience.

Poor service from the bike shop. Full bike build had several mistakes and lacked attention to detail in several respects. They rectified some of the issues upon taking the bike back but not after wasting a lot of my time. Even their master tech failed to identify some aspects of my bikes frame. Communication was also poor. Im sure theyre fine for routine maintenance but I do not recommend them for more complex jobs. This review is about the bike shop, the store itself is fine.

Review for service department. Dropped off my board to be waxed and had a family member pick it up for me. When they got home I quickly realized it was not my board. When I called them they told me I was wrong and they were very sure they gave me the right board. But nothing matched. The board and bindings were different brands and very different sizes and patterns. I then had to drive the 50 minute drive back to exchange for my board. They are nice enough and helpful enough, but do not seem to place a high priority on keeping track of whos board is whos. No apology or explanation or even perticular sense of caring was given when I exchanged my board.

Oh, REI, its a love hate kind of relationship. I love you because of your lifetime membership for $20, and your great return policy, but I hate you because a lot of my paycheck goes to you.I came here this past weekend for the REI Garage Sale. It is where REI takes all the returned gear they get (clothes, shoes, kayaks, bikes, anything and everything that is returned) and they resell it at 50-80% off. REI members only. These sales are worse than Black Friday. I have been to 2 sales, and have come out with great stuff. But you have to get there early. Some of the hardcore people, bring their tents and bags and camp out the night before. So be prepared! Go early, bring sleeping gear if you want to sleep and camp out for the sale, or, for me, I am happy with a chair, blanket, water, and some snacks. This time around I came out with a Marmot jacket that was originally $120 for $48, a pair of gently used Brooks trail runners retailed at $100 for $26.00.... you get the gist. The sale and the wait is worth it.The cashier was great and friendly! My best friend asked if they had anymore of the #optoutside pins, and she said she would go look for us, and came back with some! We will wear your proudly REI:) 🏂🏂🏂🏂

I came in knowing that I wanted a backpack for multi-day hiking trips, and not much beyond that. I was helped by two different dudes (I believe it was Ron and Adam, but I could be completely off-base) to help me find the right fit. Of course their selection is more limited than what the internet has to offer, but I felt like they only offered quality gear and I wanted to support local.Right away they sized me up to see what size I should aim for. Then they picked a few packs, loaded them up with weight, and had me wander around for a while to get a feel for them. This is how I ended up being helped by two different employees. It took time! In this case, that was a great thing, so I got a glimpse of how the weight would feel on an actual hike. They never pushed for one brand over another and I didnt feel pressured into a more expensive product (or the house REI brand) just for the sake of it. Both of the guys explained the adjustments in the packs, why they were there, and some tips on how to pack for even weight distribution.I knew REI had a great reputation but I will absolutely be back again. Thanks!

Service was very good, but store didnt have any hiking shoes for my wide feet. Also no z-poles in a proper (100cm) length for my 54 girlfriend. Both items available on-line only. And even the calendar of events over the urinal in the mens room was located 8“ too high for easy reading (not that reading is all that good an idea when using a urinal) for this 59 guy. Conclusion: if youre shorter than average or have wide feet, REI apparently doesnt need your business all that badly.

The email also stated that I would be sent another one when it was ready to be picked up at the store. But I never got the second email, so I called the store. When they checked the order. It was apparently still.in transit. And was probably going to arrive 3 days later. Also when I called the store, I had to wait 5 minutes or more to have a 30 conversation to find out about the order. I was disappointed to have wasted so much of my time

Smaller satellite location of this venerable outdoor retailer. While the flagship store in Seattle downtown has a much wider selection, this location is convenient to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and Snoqualmie Pass areas when you have to pick up a standard climbing rope, replace an ice axe, or get a new rainshell while on your way out of town. Again, the high-end gear will be found at REI, Seattle (or at Feathered Friends), but this location may suit your needs for everyday gear & clothing. Also try Pro Ski and Mountain Service in North Bend (closes at 6pm).

I was sad to find that this REI does not carry Five Ten anywhere in their stock of shoes. I did take the time to ask a sales rep, and she was not only unaware of the brand being carried by REI, but had never heard of Five Ten at all, and did not have any suggestions for other area stores which might carry athletic shoes. (I may be an overzealous fan of the Five Ten Guide Tennie.) I was disappointed that when I asked for another recommendation for an approach shoe and she had no idea what I was referring to with the term. After that I gave up and ordered what I needed from a major online retailer - not REI.I found the selection for climbing gear to be extremely small, but adequate for my needs - there was a single roll of a single type of climbing tape. I was able to get the rope I was looking for from the open stock, but only after assuring two staff members that the pre-cut 25 ft static cord pre-pack would not actually suit my needs. #letsguide #climb

I bought a $300 tent online about 4 years ago and this summer when I opened up my tent, the fly was completely ruined. I must have left it in my car and it got too hot because the glue melted and stuck together... Anyways I brought it into the store and asked to buy a new fly, only funny story--rei doesnt sell just flies alone! I was upset because I wasnt about to buy a whole new tent when all I needed was a fly. George talked with me for maybe 5 minutes and ended up ordering me a new tent, completely free of charge! I dont think he needed to do that since the tent was so old, but he went above and beyond to make my experience pleasant. Not to mention he seemed like a great guy and we talked about recent hiking trips for a while. Overall, Im very happy with my experience and I give them 5 stars because of George alone! Thanks!! :)

As we know, its tough to compete with the crushing force of Amaz0n, and REI hangs on for life thanks to crafty initiatives and sometimes tough decisions. Yet, the relevance of retail establishments like REI to consumers is supporting local and establishing relationships. Unfortunately, lifetime warranty means different depending on who you ask, and a the many abusing this benefit are spoiling it for everyone at REI and elsewhere... be kind.My latest experience shopping, during the Anniversary Sale, involved a bike and other goods. Shop and floor staff alike were accommodating and efficient. We know retail employees are not getting rich doing this and some days are better than others but most of them strive continuously to deliver satisfaction and talk about outdoor fun.Kudos Issaquah REI !

So I like this place. The cashiers are super friendly and their return policy ensures I keep coming back. However, I had a not so good experience over labor day weekend. I was buying shoes and the woman helping me overstepped. She incorrectly glanced at my feet and diagnosed me as a pronator and told me knee trouble is a result of my pronation. One, I have flat feet. I do not pronate...unless the doc Ive worked with on my gait is terribly mistaken. I also dont have knee trouble. Two, stay in your lane. As a long-distance runner, backpacker, yoga instructor, and inhabitant of my skin; I know what I want and need. If I tell you what I need and you dont have it-say you dont have it.Moral of the story is-this isnt a bad place to buy gear; however take any advice given with a grain of salt. If it doesnt sound right-consult an expert.
