My family and I been a patients here for over 10 years, beginning with Dr. Wallace and now seeing Dr. Bloom. Both doctors take their time and thoroughly listen to whats going on with our eyes, and the rest of our health. Both my son and I have taken advantage of vision therapy and had positive results. Right now Im trying out contact lenses. Michelle wins the award for patience in helping me learn how to do this.

I had a wonderful experience at Whole Picture Health & Vision. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I liked how Dr Bloom was patient with me and took the time to address all my concerns. My time doing vision therapy with Gregory was very productive. He helped me improve my eye coordination and depth perception over several weekly sessions. He taught me how to get in tune with my body, which helped me perform better in school and with sports. Dr. Bloom and Linda were very kind and professional. I have always felt anxious during eye exams, because describing vision sometimes isn’t as clear cut as you’d like it to be, but Dr. Bloom made the process feel very straightforward with her patience and understanding. With the one time contacts trial fee I got to try out samples for coloured contacts and get prescriptions for brands I felt comfortable with. I highly recommend you make an appointment with them.

Great experience overall! Optometrist and employees were lovely to interact with. It would be great if they took vision insurance directly, but otherwise, I enjoyed my visit and everyone was very friendly.

The space is welcoming, full of character, I felt much more at home than in a white-white-grey-grey clinical building. The receptionist was helpful and attentive, and Dr. Bloom was FABULOUS. She took all the time necessary to go over my vision care, without rushing (even though the appointment might have gone overtime). She was respectful that I had had bad reactions to eye drops in the past, and didnt push me to use them unless I was comfortable. Dr. Bloom was personable, professional, knowledgeable and very kind. I felt so at ease and trusting, especially since I dont always feel comfortable at doctors offices. I recommend Dr. Bloom to everyone! Thank you for such a great visit.

Be yourself and do not apologize Gregory the Vision Guide and Mentor said to me. After a thorough screening of my eye sight by Larry Wallace, I started vision, movement and balance assignments. Sometimes there was a definite consistent agenda for me, but within the time there were new, fun, challenging and helpful to me, experiences. Gregory always checked to make sure safety was a priority, Some of the assignments were kinetic, for a preteen or teen those kinetic lessons would be a piece of cake! I knew I had to try, i was led to believe I could do the activities, and sometimes the actual co ordination of eyesight to movement was humorous, sometimes required my serious focus, but the goals of vision and balance were explained and I reached them! In my therapy timeline, I met with Dr. Bloom who evaluated my progress thoroughly and there was improvement in my vision and eye co-ordination. Gregory was always compassionate, with a bit of humor, and always encouragement. He was very flexible in developing new approaches to my eye sight problems and my balance and walking issues. I have to add that Linda is such an efficient, kind receptionist who set up appointments, was welcoming, and always upbeat when I entered the building. It may look like an older building; but inside there is purposeful, innovative, appropriate business, based on research but tailored to each individual going on daily. I highly would recommend children thru adults including retirees to experience Whole Picture Health and Vision in the vibrant blue and white building!1111

I had an excellent first experience today with Dr. Bloom. She was very helpful with the eye exam and recommending different options for seasonal allergy relief.

Dr. Bloom and Gregory at Whole Picture have taken wonderful care of our daughter’s eyes. We can not express enough our gratitude. The therapy program they set up helped her with school, horse back riding, and overall physical health. If you need eye care they are the place to go. The drive is worth it. We drive almost an hour each way for every visit and don’t regret one minute.

From the receptionists kind and accommodating demeanor to Dr Blooms thorough, patient, and detailed examinations; we found Whole Picture Health and Vision to be outstanding.As a result of Gregorys encouraging and kind attitude and his amazing work ethic, Larry improved with each of his therapy sessions. Not only did he improve physically, he improved psychologically. He was exhausted after his therapy sessions but he was always encouraged and uplifted.As a result of the positive therapy results and the comforting and positive environment in the office, we will make every effort to return to Ithaca from Florida and continue therapy. In the mean time Larry is using his at home exercise kit to continue to improve his vision.

My son was referred to Dr Bloom for an extensive eye consultation. It was suggested we work with Gregory for a few months. I have to say the healing and growth in my son has been so much more than just what is happening in his eyes. Gregory takes a whole body approach that has helped my son to gain confidence, self-esteem, coordination, and so much more. Who knew so much of our daily body functions were affected by our eyes and breathing. I would recommend Dr. Bloom, Gregory, and the office staff to anyone. We recently had a follow-up and have made so much improvement! We let my son, age 13, have input on whether we wanted to continue for a few more sessions to fine tune his skills. He said without a doubt! He told me that he finds the time with Gregory fun and very informative. He said Gregory really listens to him and lets him choose what he finds most helpful. He said that really helped to let him feel in control of the treatment plan. As a parent I couldnt ask for more out of eye specialists!

My oldest son receives vision therapy and it has helped greatly with his reading, hand eye coordination, and more. Dr. Bloom does a very detailed assessment and the reassessments allow you to see progress and growth of your childs eye sight. Their version of vision therapy takes into the whole body and healing vision issues through not just vision work but body movement. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. They also are very willing to work with insurances and helped me through billing questions.

The eye doctors are both excellent. Ive been seeing Dr. Wallace for 15 years, and have yet to have any complaints. And I also see Gregory, the vision therapist, who has all kinds of kooky ways of doing things--but it works! My eyesight gets better, and I see lots of nice people. Its a win-win!

Dr. Bloom gives the most thorough eye exam I have ever had in my 65 years. She explains what she is doing and why she is doing it, offers suggestions for eye health, and is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. I am thrilled to have found a doctor so dedicated, caring, and intelligent. Both my husband and I travel close to an hour to see her and it worth every second to get the eye care she provides.

Ive seen both Dr. Wallace and Dr. Bloom with my two kids. One child had double vision and had so much trouble learning to read! The letters would double and blur. My other child has suppressed vision in one eye (lazy eye). They both had vision therapy and regular check-ups and both have had remarkable improvement in their vision.Suddenly, after exercises designed to correct his double vision, he was at or above grade level! They should really have a vision therapist in the local schools to work with kids who are having trouble learning to read. I never would have known what to do! I feel lucky to have this vision therapy center here in Ithaca!

Brought my 12 year old to see Dr. Bloom on referral from a Chiropractor colleague of mine. Dr. Bloom diagnosed a problem that no one saw with his visual field that has been holding him back physically and socially in his life. She referred to Gregory in her office for physical therapy and in just a few visits he went from an awkward boy to a young confident man. His older brother saw him catch a ball for the first time in his life and now plays and competes with kids his own age. I cannot thank them enough.

They diagnosed vision problems other eye exams over the years failed to find. With new lens that addressed those problems, and excellent vision therapy, my vision has improved dramatically. I went from being unable to drive or read to living a normal life with greatly improved vision. The doctors and staff are fantastic. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I know both doctors at Whole Picture because Dr Wallace has been my mothers optometrist for many years. And Dr Bloom, who just came on board is now my doctor, since she now takes my insurance. They are BOTH EXTREMELY THROROUGH, great listeners and very smart doctors. They guide you through the process of making a diagnosis, and it is hard work since so many things can affect your eyes.I had been to the leading optometrists in Ithaca area (no names mentioned) but came away feeling empty and disappointed since they only took about 20 minutes reviewing my case and had very little follow through. In contrast, Whole Picture really does review all the angles related to your eyes - muscular, neurological, environmental, until they have enough information to make the right diagnoses. THey involve you in your own aftercare, believing you will be motivated to take care of your vision. I am very impressed with Whole Picture.

It’s great! When getting tested for ADHD my doctor mentioned that my problems could be do to visual tracking issues. We came here and it turns out that that was one of my problems. Since then I’ve been seeing Gregory every week (and now every other week) and it has greatly improved my focus and ability to read large portions of text.

Working with Gregory at whole picture health and vision has been a transformative and eye-opening experience. I have learned so much about the different aspects of my body and how they interact together to create what I experience and perceive. Attending therapy sessions with Gregory has played an essential part in my path to recovery from chronic pain. Working in conjunction with my physical therapist, Gregory guided me through my recovery process, aided by the keen oversight and analytical skills of Dr. Bloom. It is this philosophy of looking at the whole picture, consulting other specialists in the region, applying information and wisdom gathered collectively, that really impressed and inspired me.
