P&C Fresh is a great medium-size grocery store on East Hill in Ithaca, at the entrance to East Hill Plaza. The store has everything from a deli and cheese bar to a fresh bakery and a meat department with butchers on site daily. I really like the bakery a lot and P&C Fresh is one of my favorite grocery stores in the area. Definitely rates at the top of my list for cleanliness and easy shopping places!

I come here for the amazing donuts they have here. They taste amazing and have some great decorations on them. The picture I attached has decoration for Groundhogs Day. I also love the selection they have, especially the Cornell Ice Cream they have. They also make sandwiches which I plan to try soon. Ill plan on making an edit to this review after that.

Very nice local super market. We love their freshly made bread and bagels. There is a huge section of global food and lot spices!

I like this store. Yes, prices on some items are higher than at the stores downtown, but here you can always park right in front, not a mile away and get in and out quickly. Plus they carry a lot of great local products you wont find elsewhere: Piggery meats, Copper Horse coffee, Cornell Dairy products, Cornell apples & Wide Awake bakery goods. A good beer selection for a store of its size. The place is always very clean, shiny & bright. Plus I love the boomer music on the sound system. The staff is professional and helpful. The manager of this store runs a tight ship!

P&C gets 5 stars for being the only grocery store anywhere near my house. Long may they run.

A neighborhood grocery with a good selection and super-friendly and helpful staff. They also carry many foods such as honey from local farmers.

Good variety. Many things based towards vegans and vegetarians that you may not find at most supermarkets. Prices tend to be just a little higher than some of the other local markets.

Nice grocery store. Very convenient at the end of the day to run in and grab something real quick. However, the produce section is not as fresh as it could be.

For anyone interested in staying safe during COVID, I recommend avoiding this place. They do not enforce the mask-wearing rule. I was just here checking out alongside a man with no mask talking on his phone. No one said anything to him, and the manager was not interested. I will shop elsewhere from now on.

Deli Area Poor !! Why No Salad Bar ???

One question... If your store closes at 10PM, and I arrive at 9:49PM, I know what I need, where it is, and will be in the store a maximum of 2-minutes, why am I not allowed in? Product I needed was very close to the cash registers. Wouldnt you think there would be a sign that states no admittance at a certain time? No! Several occasions that I have been there, the manager on-duty begins closing calls at 9PM (THE STORE CLOSES AT 10!) and continues them every 5-minutes for the entire hour! Ive even heard other customers say to cashiers, word for word, Boy, he must be excited to get out of here tonight.. Terribly run and severely overpriced. There are frozen meals that this store sells for $1.99 that I can get at Wegmans for $1.00. twice in a week, I have been in there and purchased nothing because of the price gouging. Lost my business to Wegmans, 3-times in a week! My advice, do NOT shop here. Poorly ran, poorly priced, and a severe lack of a variety of foods. Seems like they focus more on their own store-branded items, which cost more than the name brands. Makes no sense. As a professional full-time Instacart shopper, with over than more than 1,000 orders under my belt, I now know why Instacart doesnt do business with this place. If I could give them a ZERO, I would.

Didnt have 2 items that I wanted in stock today but overall I am very happy with this store. They actually tend to have some items here that I cant get at other stores.

Produce is extremely rotten! 5 dollar tubs of strawberries are covered with mold. The first apple I picked up at this store felt like old cardboard and literally my finger went right through it and my thumb was covered in unsightly brown mess. The employee working produce department is without a brain. The store manager at this location does not know how to workers to cull for freshness. You can pull a half shopping cart everyday of horrible looking produce. If you want fresh produce shop at wegmans. The completely worthless pc fresh store manager should be fired!!

Beautiful and clean store!

This place is the east side of Ithacas best grocery store. It has a lot of options which are usually cheaper than Wegmans. Its also open 24/7 making it a really convenient stop and shop. Also its not very crowded so perfect for a run in and grab the thing you need situation. The staff are also usually friendly including he over night shift who are very kind and happy to help.

There is a new Walgreens next door so theres no need to run the traffic gauntlet on Friday afternoons for dinner and a prescription. The store is not the behemoth box of downtown so they may not carry all of your favorites. Ive had this happen twice in about four years and after asking the manager if they would be willing to carry the product for you convenience. Both times when I asked, within two weeks the product I asked for become a regular shelf item. The restrooms are clean. The deli has a nice selection and is also very clean. This is more of a nice neighborhood grocery store and deli than an upscale grocery store like Wegs. However that being said you can save money on produce and other items. They have a decent natural food section as well as your traditional grocery items. Parking is easy as well. The salad bar is great, and no where as fancy as others in town which I actually prefer. It has more unadulterated fresh vegetables than any other salad bar in town. I like the salad dressing packets, and the only bad thing is that the produce guys dont do a very good job on keeping all of the packet options stocked. If I bring people here for lunch they are sometimes dismayed they cant get packets of their favorite dressing. The deli is priced very well. You can get custom made sandwiches or other store made specialty salads for very good prices. They have sushi that they make in-house as well. If you hit the sushi they alternate often with a buy-one-get-one free option, so its perfect if you have someone else who needs lunch, or you can get lunch for the next day for free!

I think this is the best grocery store in the eastern side of Ithaca. They have a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, groceries and confectionery. More importantly, its the cleanest and the most organized grocery store Ive ever seen. You find international food items of Indian, Thai, Chinese and Latin American cuisines. As a vegetarian, I feel this store is very vegetarian friendly with a very good dairy section, salad bar and bakery. The price however is on the higher side. Most importantly, the store is well connected by public transport for students of CU and IC. The country music they play in the store gives me a very pleasant shopping experience.

Love that I can come here whenever I need anything,. Great staff who do their best to help with whatever you need. Love the salad bar, chickens, and soup for lunch or to pick up for dinner. Produce, meats, and dairy all reasonable priced. Some packaged or frozen food is a bit more expensive than other stores, probably due to them being smaller and not qualifying for as large a discount. Its worth it to me, though to save the cost of gasrequired to travel to the other end of town. Sometimes, the salad bar could use a little more attention. But overall, this is really a great store!

Great selection of deli, they carry Boars head brand which we love. Fresh produce, excellent variety of beers, many bulk spices at reasonable prices, this is where I like to buy our beef as its always fresh and usually at an affordable price. Great place for a quick bite if youre up in the area, Salad bar at a much better price per lb than Wegmans, subs can be hit or miss, I suggest getting the boars head for a dollar more on your sub. Love this smaller grocery store over the big ones.

The store is OK. Just dont expect Wegmans. I know, P&C is a holdover where stores are still open, but it feels like they could do a minor renovation after the covid lie is over.

I had a question about a cut of meat and wanted to order some roasts for a luncheon we were catering ... Tammy in the Meat Department could not have been more helpful and pleasant in answering my questions ... it was a great customer experience and just another reason to shop locally.

I have done most of my shopping at Wegmans over the years, but have become more familiar with our locally owned P&C Fresh since the COVID lockdowns. Some things Ive discovered:The staff are excellent - friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient - an area where Wegmans seems to have slipped.They carry a wide array of locally and regionally produced products, at prices that are usually better than Greenstars.They have the best breads in Ithaca - far better than what Wegmans or Tops carries. Their house Ecce Panis is excellent (I like the multigrain boule), they carry Wide Awakes outstanding breads on the weekends, and they also have a selection of Ithaca Bakery breads.Their produce is much better than I remembered - likely better than any other local store except Wegmans, and it can compete with Wegmans on good days. I wish they had a bit more organic produce, and they could probably sell more fresh Asian vegetables given our neighborhoods composition.Their shelves have remained well-stocked of almost everything through the shutdown.There is none of the social distance-related trauma Ive experienced at Wegmans or Walmart. Shopping here is always a nice, relaxing experience.The local owners and management team deserve enormous credit for what they are doing for our community.

P&C can definitely hold their own against Wegmans. Very fresh produce, best meats in Ithaca, and they carry a great offering of Copper Horse Coffee Roasters. The coffee is typically within a week or two of roasting which is a huge plus.

I stop here occasionally and Im never disappointed. The size of the store is just right; when Im at Wegmans, sometimes I just get a little lost in all the merchandise. Also, I dont think Ive ever waited in line...there always appears to be a waiting cashier when Im done shopping and ready to check out.When I was there last week I snagged a special deal on Lucky Charms (Limited Edition St. Patricks Day version...GREEN CLOVERS GALORE!!). Magically Delicious Indeed!

Good prices without the crowds of some of the other local groceries. Steak prices are the best pretty much anywhere! Not the best selection of brands, though, so youll probably need to go elsewhere for specialty ingredients.

The donuts are fresh in store- and the BEST in Ithaca. Mostly where my rating comes from.The beef is great and when on sale its reasonably priced, but Ive never bought chicken(tried 3x, the first two I figured couldve been a mistake) that wasnt spoiled(looks fine but smells when you peel the plastic off). The butchers and meat workers are helpful and knowledgeable, they do serve questionable chicken though.Never had an issue with their dairy, but I choose my milk on which has the farthest out date as we dont drink a lot of it, not based on fat percentage.Their prices suck though, unless you go for sale items.

This is a gem of a grocery store away from all rat race of down town Ithaca. It has every thing that you would need. It is quite possible that there are some specialty items they wouldnt have. At that point it becomes a clear issue of want and need. Great people who care.

I really like this place. Some things are more expensive than you would get if you drive downtown but today I got two things I needed BOGO and they honestly have the best donuts. So good. Theres a discount rack in the way back near the dairy coolers with good buys.My only compliant is they insist on putting a paid sticker on everything is it isnt bagged. Seems silly and wasteful.They keep stuff you might not expect in a smaller grocery including organics and vegetarian stuff. Usually a quick, pleasant stop.

A decent place to grocery shop. Produce items need better signage. Ie grapes, grapefruit not signed. Couldnt tell if grapefruit was red or white. Had to punch PLU in my find to find out. Deli service friendly and they have a salad bar, which I like. Also have sushi. Rotisserie chicken salad is awesome. Pretty good bakery. Can smell the Seafood dept when you get near it. Meat prices were pretty good. Need to do a better job of marking down and culling the case. A few packages of beef had brown on them. They should have been pulled vs leaving them in and trying to sell. Front end service is a little slow for me. Not very busy.

Very convenient for people living around.

My husband and I went in for the first time. Prices are a little higher (in general) than TOPS but the selection is good. We were a little disappointed in the signs in the meat dept. Because it looked as though something was on sale that wasnt. Other than that, they have a good selection and sell local produce as well as CTB products.

Very calm in comparison to the other stores in town, but a great selection of products at all price levels. Lots of specialty food items including local cheeses, dairy, meat (in freezer section) and coffees. Great selection of unusual quasi_healthy snack foods and the boxed nuts are excellent.

Quick and convenient. Has what I need, although it doesnt have the wide selection or varied sizes and varieties that Wegmans has. Still, youll find whatever you are looking for here, including fresh items from the butcher, deli, or ready to eat section. There are also can and bottle returns here.

P&C is a convenient grocery store located in East Hill Plaza that has a fresh selection of fruits, produce and organic options. The associates are helpful and check-out is always easy. It is a great option for your food shopping needs if you cant bear the idea of going down to play with the masses at Wegmans or Greenstar.

My go to neighborhood store. Prices may be a bit more expensive than Wegmans, but it is close to home. Friendly employees, great bakery items. Surprisingly good spot to go for a quick lunch, great soups.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool twice I will never return to your store. I have bought groceries on and off for a couple months here because it is unfortunately the closest real grocery store to Cornell. The selection is poor and the produce as well as deli selection are hardly fresh. I used to buy fresh vegetables regularly here, but stopped after a couple times because they would spoil in the fridge in a couple of days. Also service is unhelpful and occasionally snippy. Not exactly the best shopping environment. Nevertheless, I have continued to go there despite the high prices, poor customer service, and iffy quality food. Not any more though.I purchased one gallon of milk that was close to expiration and it was bad within a couple days. The milk I bought to replace this one was actually 3 days beyond the expiration date. Yes, I am partially to blame for not checking the expiration date, but there should not have been expired milk on the shelf.Shame on me, but really P & C Fresh shame on you. I hope this review steers other shoppers far away from this store.

I would say its a really good alternative to Wegmans. Id say the overall quality is pretty above average but not quite five star. They do however have a great array of foreign Foods.

Overall this store doesnt compare with Wegmans or Tops in terms of selection, but it is a nice clean store with a lot of offerings you wont find in other grocery stores. For example, they have Copper Horse coffee and Lost Dog pasta sauce...just weird random things where they seem to have made deals with local producers to carry their products. So you may find some locally sourced goodies here! The produce section is their weak point. The selection isnt great and lots of things seem to be over-ripe or on its way out.

Prices for some items are normal, others are steep. The local charm and best-available location for those out east of Ithaca along 79 makes it a regular grocery destination for us. Honestly, I do like this place.
