My daughters and I went here for ice cream while on vacation in Ithaca. Beautiful place. Great ice cream. Very clean establishment.

I really like the quality of the ice cream. I had chocolate chips cookie and vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce.. both of them were top notch..

Extremely friendly staff and a huge selection of amazingly good flavors. Good amount of non-dairy options as well! Cute retro atmosphere, and fun with a group of friends. Indoor seating available, but spacious enough to not feel crowded. The service is quick, and it being open so late makes for a great night snack.

Just had lunch with new ownership. Not good at all. You order on a tablet & wait for your meal. No service whatsoever, but they ask for tip on tablet. Homemade lentil burger was good, but way overpriced. The fries, which smelled great, were terrible. We sent our first order back thinking they were stale, but the new ones were just as bad, just warmer. I dont think they have figured our how to cook french fries, as they are very dry and mealy. (for $3.79). I dont think they soak them enough before cooking. They need to take lessons from the Fargo in Aurora. Not likely to put Ithaca Bakery out of business. (How can they not know the fries suck?)

I’d never been here before and figured I’d treat myself to an ice cream cone before summer ended, especially since it’s supposed to be this amazing place. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and really wanted to try three different flavors.I got to the window and explained to the employee that I’d never been there before and wanted to have a wafer cone for my cone and I wanted the three flavors. He said I couldn’t have it on a wafer cone because it would fall off, I expressed how bummed I was I couldn’t have a wafer cone because I don’t care for waffle cones but I went with it anyway and handed him money.I waited for my order to come up to the window and was appalled at how much ice cream was on the cone! As he handed it to me I showed him what one scoop of ice cream is, he explained that these are their portions. No wonder it was like $8, one dollar was the add on of the waffle cone I didn’t want. Such a waste of money! It was so big it wasn’t even enjoyable to try and eat. I just wanted to taste those three different flavors, not buy a half gallon of ice cream. I’m disappointed to say the least and don’t think I’ll ever go back.I ended up dumping the ice cream in a protein shaker bottle I had in the back of my car so I could at least take a bite of each flavor. Then threw it all away because the flavors weren’t even that good. Lesson learned 🤷🏻‍♀️

I expected it to be a famous ice cream with a long history, but it was nothing special.

Before I went vegan, I was a big fan of Purity Ice Cream and came here all the time. Im so glad that they have vegan flavors now!!I got a two scoop dish of Triple Threat Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and it was great!! The Triple Threat is a chocolate base with cookie dough and brownie bites. I ended up liking that better than the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!!Purity is pricey, but its always been that way. Overall, a great, nostalgic visit for me, and a great place to visit for anyone in Ithaca.

I visited the Purity Kitchen today and had the veggie burger with so many toppings and delicious sweet potato fries on the side. The service was also very good with overt care and enthusiasm. I absolutely recommend and will return!

Very friendly staff and amazing flavors of ice-cream. I didn’t know what was the hype all about till we actually went in and tried the ice-cream. Hands down one of the best ice-cream that I’ve had. It was very delicious and the price was reasonable.

Fyi: none of Puritys flavors are even vegetarian 😱I was so excited to see the large selection of vegan flavors at Purity ice cream, until I inquired and learned that none of Puritys own flavors are vegan, let alone even vegetarian. They all have gelatin in them! And egg!They have some soy based vegan flavors produced by a distributor, but theyre mediocre at best. The mint was very icy and had a sickly color. The cookie dough was fine.I think they should make it more clear that none of their ice cream is vegetarian. Thats something most people would never think of. Why is there gelatin aka ground up animal body parts in ice cream?? Have never heard of such a thing.

Great milkshake. My wife and Kids loved this place. In our whole trip to Ithaca this was the best place we went too.It was for sale when we were there. Hopefully someone buys and keeps the quality.Inside is nice and bright its very clean and there is outside seating.Plenty of parking. People working there were very nice.

Kevin Sullivan who is the new owner and his management crew wrongfully terminated me today and had no prior issues of me or my performance. Darius who is the Head Cook refused to give me the accommodation that i asked for prior to being hired on with the company. That accommodation was for me to have extra breaks because of my health issues and mental health. I was told that if i didnt listen to what he had to say that my job was done and I would be fired, which if im correct that is Blackmailing at this point I have been manipulated. Then he threatened me that if I didnt leave the place he was going to have me removed from the premises by police. Although I did not act out in any threatening manner or behavior. I left in a appropriate manner with no issues. The way this owner handles things and treats his employees is a disgrace. I have a retainer with my attorney and will be perusing litigation against this company for its actions towards a person with disabilities.More in fact they have underage kids working more than what there suppose too by state law. I had many of them telling me they worked an excessive amount of hours and barley had any breaks. NYS where is justice on this and how do you allow companies to treat people with disabilities like this or even minors?I dont suggest visiting this place

Amazing local ice cream spot in Ithaca! They are very generous with their scoops in their delicious waffle cones. My boyfriend and I each got 2 scoops -- we both especially enjoyed the green tea and boom berry flavors.

Whoa! This place is awesome. So many delicious treats to tryCake, pie, muffins, cup cakes, brownies, and lots and lots of ice cream.

Good ice cream shop, had a brownie sundae and it was good! One star off because they do have a lot of teenagers/college kids working there and one yelled in my face as I was picking up my ice cream, she had said my order number when we are about 5 feet from the counter waiting so I walked right up to get it and she looked right at me when I was grabbing it from her and she yelled the number right at my face super loud, laughed, then laughed again with her coworker. There was another girl ordering ice cream to go that worked there and talking with them and I think they were all trying to make a joke but was rude.

Very busy so be prepared! Ice cream is on the more expensive side, but thats because its so good! A whole host of different flavors, we chickened out and just got Oreo milkshakes and holy beezuses they were incredible! Place is usually packed, so the time to order, and then the time to actually get your ice cream can be on the longer side.

My wife says it was definitely ice cream, so it has that going for it. Its not bad but nothing standout.

We had never been here before, but we got dessert here for our 6-year anniversary while we were staying in the area for a couple of days to celebrate. This is some of the best ice cream Ive ever had. They offer frozen yogurt, regular ice cream, soy ice cream, and almond milk ice cream. I might even be forgetting some options! All I can say is that the ice cream was extremely delicious and if were back in the area anytime soon we would definitely make it a point to come back here again. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating to the fact that we were new customers that had never gotten ice cream from there before.

Delicious! It was so great that we had to visit twice while we were staying in Ithaca. I got the sea salt caramel ice cream one night and a butterscotch blondie the next. Both were wonderful!

Purity is super busy pretty much all the time, but its still one of my favorite ice cream places ever. You pretty much cant go wrong with whatever flavor you choose. My friends and I like ordering the largest sundae (which includes 8 scoops of whatever flavors you want!) and sharing it between us.

Had the sea salt caramel ice cream which was tasty, missing a star because the flavor I wanted was unavailable, and no restock was mentioned.Also missing all their food options at the moment but I understand the business is for sale.

The ice cream here is quite good and the portions are huge. My 2 scoop sundae seemed more like 4 scoops. The staff was very friendly. Even with some of there outdoor seating being closed off for social distancing we were still able to find a seat. P.S. someone please order the Boston shake and post a pic of it. Im dying to see what it looks like!

I had breakfast in Purity Ice Cream Co. in April. The weather was 47 F. Coffee is hot and tasty. Two eggs, scrambled is good. Potatoes are fine. Portions are not large which is good. Just enough for one. English muffins are exceptional and tasty. Service is fast. The place has speedy circulation, but it is not a fast food place. The location is great, very close to the river. No problem with parking.

Very large ice cream shop. Wasnt terribly busy when I was there. The Ice cream was good. Nice amount of seating inside and out.

Its great that they have several flavors of vegan ice cream but its more ice than cream, unfortunately.

Very disappointing. This place must be running off nostalgia or something. Ice cream was not creamy, but kind of gritty. My spouse and I were getting a dry mouth eating this. The waffle cones tasted old and were not crisp. The price was about 30% higher than Ive experienced at other such ice cream places. And, of course, there is a tremendously long line and a long wait. At least the staff was super nice.

Beyond serving excellent food (I got a brownie sundae with black cherry ice cream), Purity had one one of the best covid risk reducing systems in place of any indoor seating food environment Ive seen in Ithaca so far!

Great ice cream shop! A must stop everytime we come down to hike the trails from Syracuse! So my flavors, shakes sundaes etc. Can be a little slow from so many people, by trust me, the wait is absolutely worth it! The green tea flavor ice cream is my favorite! Oh and the pies, cookies and cakes look so good as well! Love this place!

Ice cream has always been one of my favorite things to eat. Purity has a huge selection of flavors & if you get two scoops... They let you mix up your dish with a couple different flavors of ice cream. Variety of toppings as well as drinks, fudge & chocolate candies, pints, quarts to take home & sheet/special occasion ice cream cakes. Great service too. Definitely will go back when I pass through the area.

My favorite ice cream place in town! The staff in there are all so sweet and friendly. I always leave with a smile on my face and the yummiest ice cream (it’s well priced too!). Their ice cream cakes are also super delicious. And it’s really clean in there with all COVID guidelines being met and proper mask wearing. So good!

Its a famous and pretty crowded place, but they should improve their service. First, they gave us a wrong order (its ok, mistakes might happen..). But after that not a single napkin was given for the dripping cone of ice cream.Otherwise the ice-cream was good.

Bad vegan ice cream with little selection. With how far vegan ice cream has come in recent years there is no excuse to have vegan options this terrible. The soy ice cream has gross mouth feel and the ice cream is overly sweet.

Purity has an incredible selection of ice cream flavors, great outdoor seating, and even lemon sorbet for our youngest that is allergic to dairy.

Lots of interesting flavours and the staff was very helpful in describing the flavours to us. Social distance was well enforced inside and theres plenty of outdoor seating with cleaning rags and solution available, but some of the benches seemed pretty close together.

Best local ice cream store in Ithaca with a exceptional selection of flavors including cinnamon, my favorite.

We were looking for a small wedding cake and decided to give Purity a try after reaching out to Wegmans (could not bake a small custom cake for us) and we were sticker-shocked by other options.Staff were always very polite and helpful over the phone and went above and beyond! Great customer service!! It was easy to pay over the phone and the cake was baked the morning of the wedding- we just swung by and quickly picked it up no problem. The bakers did a fantastic job with the custom cake (german chocolate flavor) and it was hands-down the most delicious German chocolate cake we had ever had! It served ~12 people generously for about $30. Definitely order your cake from here for small special occasions, you wont be disappointed.

There seems to always be a line, but it moves quickly. I really enjoy the ice cream and it reminds me of a place that you would see in a movie. Definitely recommend a visit.

I absolutely love this place. Kind staff, clean premises, you know a place is good if the owner is around and they always are. Prices are worth it. They even serve breakfast and lunch!!! If I could give it 6 stars I would.

Good quality ice cream with reasonable prices and portions. Lots of space to sit inside and enjoy, and tons of flavors to choose from including some rotating and seasonal favorites. A great place for families.

This Ice Cream joint is the best Ive ever been to! From my favorite ice cream Chocolate Debris, to their delicious treats like thier butterscotch blondies, Purity Ice Cream is simply the best in the business. The employees are very friendly, and although the lines are likely to be long because of how downright delicious the good stuff they serve up is, the many employees gets through the masses surprisingly quickly! Everything about Purity Ice Cream is great enough for me to visit about 3 times a week at least. Keep up the good work, Purity!

Great place in Ithaca for ice cream. The shop is cute, well laid out, and clean. The flavors are very diverse and they have a great rotation. The ice cream itself is great and has wonderful texture. The service is pleasant and quick. Prices are reasonable. Can’t wait to go back in the future and try out some more flavors!
