The food was good and they give you a ton if ice cream. The bowls are huge. I watched many people walk out without finishing all of their ice cream. Also the service was ok thats why Im rating it 3 stars. There was 8 of us and it took well over 45 minutes to get everything we ordered. Also we only received 1 refill and that was about the time we were leaving. Things I would recommend are the peanut butter cup sundae and the fries. Both of those were delicious.

The new change in ownership can easily be recognized. They have made improvements to the dining area that were much needed. The ice cream is still just as HUGE and delicious as always. The staff are very friendly and prompt. We had a nice midday ice cream break with plenty to take home.

If you like ice cream, shakes, malts, etc you The Parlour is a MUST if youre in the area! Great atmosphere and service! Plenty of region specific flavors and treats. Thier shakes are a work of art (see the pic)! Highly recommended!

Talk about really good and really large icecream creations. The scoops are softball sized. New owners, but the quality is still good. The building needs some TLC, but has old fashioned charm!

Nice old fashioned type ice cream shop/ restaurant. The ice cream scoops are HUGE. I got 2 scoops bcus I thought it was regular size. They give u enough ice cream that you can share it with 3 other ppl. The staff seemed to be nice and friendly. Not sure I would ever be back in this area again but I would go if I was near.

Here in Michigan for a temporary duty. This spot was highly recommended by other co-workers! First visit was a disappointment! The pictures looked great on Yelp but actually look sub-standard in person. Looked dirty. We stood at the take-out line for an hour. Four sets of customers left because the line was taking so long. The employees were all young teens. Only one was taking customer orders upfront (Joshua). He did an awesome job. The manager was at the register and she saw a long line but didn’t offer help or apologize for the wait and looong line! Never seen such a terrible manager.Options: so many options on the menu. There’s something for everyone in my opinion.Ice Cream: got the Snicker Parfait. Soooo good. But I think they overloaded the caramel and fudge. Still good though. My friend got Caramel Carabou, I tasted it it was so tasty. If you like Caramel that’s the one for you.They received two stars because manager was terrible and we waited over an hour. Manager did not acknowledge customers in line. Maybe better next time.

If you like ice cream, you owe it to yourself to visit. You would have a hard time finding better ice cream anywhere. The atmosphere is fun, and the service is great. Other food is available, but ice cream is the star of the show. Our kids couldnt get over how huge the portions were. Everything tasted great as well.

This is based on the Ice Cream only, I didnt try the other items. But the menu pricing didnt look favorable. I was happy with my experience at the Parlour. I do have a few criticisms though. Service was VERY slow, from what I could see this do to lack of staff, was this caused by a scheduling error or just lack of employees? Ice cream prices are very high but the portions are large but for Hudsonville Ice Cream, please.... Place was clean and looked fresh.

Grew up in Jackson going here and had great memories. My husband and I drove a hour to go here yesterday. Just sad how run down it it. They were not busy but took 15 minutes for a waitress. Asked for coffee but the coffee machine was broke. Husband asked for tea and she came back with no tea available. Then they made our ice cream and seen it sitting on the counter in the back but the waitress disappeared. When she finally gave it to us it was a bowl of liquid. Then had to wait for awhile to get the bill. Then stood at cash register for 10 minutes with no assistance so left the cash and bill on the counter and left. Thank goodness they were not busy. Not worth the drive anymore.

Dont know if the food/ice cream is food because we never made it that far. We were there for 20 minutes and never got even noticed, let alone greeted. When we left no one tried to stop us. It felt like being a ghost family. Not a single person even knew we were there.

Im sure that staffing is an issue and understandable since they are restarting the business. The poor service, missed cooperation between employees and especially the eye rolling directly at the customer is not the way to build a loyal customer base. Service was slow serving food to our group of 4 one at a time. My fries were cold. My wifes burger was served on a rock hard bun! The ice cream is very good but people arent aware of the size of the scoops (each scoop is the size of a softball.) and the servers dont tell you this. Luckily I was with someone who had been here before and cautioned me from ordering 2 scoops. Unfortunately we saw 2 seniors that ordered 3 scoop sundaes each and were overwhelmed with their order which was the equivalent of about 12 normal size scoops each!!!! Both a waste of money and an upco.ing diabetic coma

Took 20 minutes + from the time I asked for a menu to have our order taken - this is after I asked if we could order. Should not take over 15 minutes to get a dish of ice cream. Server actually came and asked if we had gotten our ice cream yet. There was nothing in front of us! Service is terrible. No one cleaning off the filthy counters. People have to ask for their checks. Yes, staff is on the younger side, but no common sense. Most likely will not go back.

Worst service in town. They were not busy at all only 3 tables occupied. A couple that came in awhile after us was approached and served way before we even got approached. It took another 25 minutes before they came to ask us our order. While all of them just on their phones ignoring customers. Wow this place has fallen into a unpleasant place to visit. Very sad. My servers name was Courtney she was just beyond rude. And to top it off she was chomping on her gum loudly while taking my order. Absolutely disgusting. There was also bugs on my table. I will not be returning here.

The ABSOLUTE worst service I have had in a very long time. I never saw one adult working anywhere. The kids really had no idea what was going on around them. We waited at a dirty counter for 25 minutes before someone came to take the dirty dishes. 10 minutes after that before a young man who couldnt have been more than 12yrs old attempted to clean the area. A girl came to give the adults in our party and across from us water, took the other peoples order who came in after us then turns to say that she would send someone over to take our order shortly. By this time, I decided it was time to take my grandchildren somewhere else. I have never been so disappointed to drive an hour to specifically come here to end up leaving

We came for lunch today & our server (I believe her name was Jazilyn?) took amazing care of us...We love “The Parlour” ...you could tell the 2 young women working were hustling hard, as it was a busy lunch rush (around 1pm on a Wednesday)They were friendly & kept smiles on their faces despite them clearly being a bit overwhelmed...we know staffing is a struggle right now & these ladies did their very best! Weve heard that this was a popular place to get great ice cream and just happened to be in the area. We were a hour and a half from home with two of our grandchildren and wanted to make it a special evening. We entered the Parlour and the sign said to seat yourself, the only thing that was available was a dirty table which was not a big deal because they were busy. A young man cleaned the table and greeted us. This was our first time there and didnt know what to expect it seemed a bit dirty and the staff was moving pretty slow, ice cream was made up and melting waiting to be served to the customers. Our waiter came back and handed us menus and walked away we all of a sudden had this horrible smell and it was coming from our menus which was a huge shock. We just got up and walked out, a big disappointment. If the place is dirty and stinks then hows the food and ice cream? Sorry we will never know because were not taking that chance. Its too bad it looks like it would be a great place with proper sanitation and better management.

Dirty, rude, slow even though they werent busy and hard plenty of staff, and overpriced. Ice cream comes in large portions and the place... Would look cool if it was clean... But overall, just dont go. Their chili is basically dollar tree spaghetti sauce, grilled cheese is basically clearance white bread and one slice of the cheapest thing that looks like cheese that save-a-lot has to offer. If I see a under new management sign I might consider it, till then pass.

Had rough night at The Parlor of Jackson - on a Thursday. Slow service and not very attentive - all our drinks were not offered for refills and no one checked if our food was good. Got the wrong burger - asked two employees for resolution but no help or follow-through. Did not get cutlery with meal - when we asked for utensils - only received forks. Had to ask again for knives and spoons. Was charged the higher priced burger price after indicating did not want to pay. Surprised by the state of the cleanliness in the restaurant - tables not cleaned, trash on floor,. hard to be seated with an electronic mouse

Not a great experience, young kids will love, but adults will probably prefer something better tasting, and cleaner.

We have been going here for years. I live in Ohio but come to Michigan at least once a year for a family reunion. The entire family goes to the larlour every year. The serving sizes are huge. The food is delicious. We love the classic decor. It is allarpund a great place.

The waitress we had was not friendly. She actually made a comment about why would they just come in for ice cream to one of her coworkers. We ordered 3 ice cream treats. 2 sundaes and a milkshake. The ice cream had a slimy layer on it, along with some ice chips in them. So not a good place to go for ice cream.

The parlour is such an awesome place to visit! The decor takes you back in time, and the ice cream is some of the best in town. Its one of the gems Jackson has for a really great dining/dessert experience!

My gf took me there and didnt warn me on how big the portions are. I ordered a full bana split it has 6 scoops. A scoop is equivalent to half a gallon of ice cream. Ask the staff the size before ordering. The have a 21 scoop challenge as well.

Disgustingly dirty. Only one kid scooping ice cream and taking carry out food orders. Waited 30 minutes in line, several people left. One person waited 20 minutes for a cashier to pay! Meanwhile, manager and 6 servers were standing around on their phones and chatting with each other. When I complained to manager, she disappeared into kitchen. I’ve cream was good, but won’t go back if for no other reason than that the place was filthy

Ice cream was good after we finally got it after waiting for 2 hours with 2 mix ups. We ordered something pretty simple and our server brought us the wrong thing for my husbands and my order. My order came after everyone else was done eating. So, I didnt even eat my ice cream at the parlor, I took it home and at it there.

Went in for the first time today. There were tons of flies in the building. We did not get greeted in any way. We waited for 10 min before we were asked if we were going to eat in or take out.Employees were touching their clothes with their gloves on and then reaching in to the ice cream.Bad service and gross practices.

My family and I LOVE this place. The menu isnt long but what is there is cooked well, tastes good, and is filling. The ice cream and serving sizes are amazing. I had the appetizer of chili cheese fries & then 3 scoops of ice cream ( variety of flavors and delicious), I ended up with a to-go box because I couldnt finish it in one sitting. It ended up lasting 3 days. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves ice cream.

Got a small flight of ice cream. We enjoyed it except the hot fudge seems to be more of a pudding and didnt have a strong chocolate flavor.

Me and my family went there and had a good time, we only got ice cream. Everything was good, I just wish they had better take home containers, the very large servings (two scoop sundays) which was not far from a whole pint.

Nostalgic ice cream parlour that serves enormous sizes! Great flavor and topping options and its always a memorable experience. The ice cream taste/creaminess itself doesnt stand out necessarily, but they make up for that in many different ways. Definitely a must to check out if youre in the Jackson area.

We were here on Saturday, 3/27/21, early evening. The customer service was absolutely horrible. Long waits in line, couldnt even understand the girl taking our order because she was mumbling. After she made my float, which was made incorrectly, she spent at least 4 minutes washing her hands and talking, even though there were more ppl iny party to get orders from. When she finally came back out she didnt even attempt to help them, she just stood there and talked to her friend. None of the employees were friendly, or even smiled for that matter. Our food was slopped together and tasted mediocre at best. My friend ordered a grilled cheese that should have had three cheeses in it. It came with one cheese and the cheese wasnt even melted. She ended up not even eating it. The next day three ppl in our party, including myself had upset stomachs all day. Now Im wondering if health codes are even met here.

You may pay a little more but its so worth the price! We go to the parlour, maybe twice a year. The sundaes we get usually get us 2 sometimes 3 servings. The scoops are almost as big as my husbands fist, the ice-cream and toppings are delicious. I dont know about the other food, we only get take-away ice-cream.

I grew up in the area, but have lived in a different state for many years. The Parlour (or Dairy as we have always called it) is a must each time I am in town. Service is traditionally SLOW, but just something I expect and deal with. (I wouldnt recommend going if youre in a time crunch.) Food is ok-nothing special. But the ice cream and serving sizes are fantastic! There was a point where the ice cream wasnt made in house, or locally, and it went downhill, but with the current owners, it is definitely back up to expectations!!

Oh My Goodness! Great ice cream flavors. I ordered a cone (I asked for the smallest scoop available) of butter pecan ice cream but, it was hugh!! I couldnt imagine ordering a regular size!! Anyway, you surely get your moneys worth! Delicious and nice courteous service. Highly recommend The Parlor.
